I've been here twice. Once for a fill/manicure, and about a week later for a pedicure. 1st of all....Mary remembered me when I came the 2nd time and thanked me for coming back. I appreciate that, since not everyone makes an effort to remember repeat customers. 2nd. Mary did a fantastic job with my fill and manicure. When she noticed that I had color changing polish on (from another salon), she offered the same option to me. Of course that's what I wanted. my nails are also a perfect coffin shape, just like I wanted. 3rd. My pedicure was great and the price was right. Was desperate for a French manicure at 5 pm. Called several salons and this was the only one who could fit me in. I agree with the other reviewers in that is not a very welcoming place! I stood there waiting for several minutes before someone acknowledged me and there were a few technicians standing around in the back which should have been my first clue. Usually there is a price menu , so because i did not see one, that should have been my second clue. Mary did a good job, intent on her work and checking to make sure the white polish was as thin as I wanted. She charged me $50 which is overpriced compared to other salons. I really didn't want to leave a negative review for the whole salon, especially since one of the nail techs is kind and always does excellent work. However, my experience during my most recent visit left me extremely frustrated. The woman who handled my manicure and pedicure was cold, condescending, and made me feel like I was inconveniencing her the entire time. To make matters worse, I just checked my bank statement and discovered she added a generous tip for herself without my approval. If California Nails continues to hire staff like this, I can't recommend them. read more

Horrible customer service and they do not even care!...I came in for a pedicure.,.she did not speak hardly any english so when I was telling her the massager wasnt working she ignored me..The manager ( the worst) said they do not sit in the chairs so they would not know how to fix them and did not even attempt to help..I wanted to move to a chair that worked and the one who spoke very little english switched mine with another and it worked...I explained to the other two workers who were rude that the massage is also what people pay for and she said we do not have time to check all of the chairs we get paid to work...and I said well may be you should for better customer service and once again she said we do not have time..I said well may be u should come in early or tell the owner and she said the owner NEVER comes in....the pedicure was decent there was also another disgruntled customer who paid for a longer massage and did not get it and she complained and they said an extra $10...If you r the owner of this place Please Fire the 2 rude ones.....Never again! I called today to make an appointment to get my nails done and I also decided to get a pedicure. I was very surprised that Mary was able to get me in to do a fill and also that Tina was able to do a pedicure. This is one of my favorite nail establishments in Lincoln. Very friendly staff very clean establishment, very nice comfortable atmosphere. I decided to get two colors today like I always do because that's my thing I know I don't like just one color on my nails lol. And Mary did a great job. She took her time. Make sure that she was filling every part of my nail, which I appreciate because I don't want to leave with my nails not being completely perfect, Tina did an excellent job on my pedicure. She was very sweet and was explaining everything she was doing which I definitely appreciated because I feel like she was going above and beyond with customer service tonight. Really happy with my visit here tonight. Very happy with the services I have received tonight. I highly recommend this establishment for anybody. Looking to get a pedicure get your nails done eyebrow wax is how much more they are awesome. Yesterday I made an appointment for 10 am today. I get there at 10 am and I tell them I'm here for a 10 am appt. They set up things and walk me to my chair with chair and water in foot bin ready to go. No one says anything to me and everyone is helping other guests to get their service going. I on the other hand is left in my chair as I wait for whoever is going to do my pedicure. I sit and wait and wait for 20 or more min until some new guy walks in and gets ready to do my pedicure 20-25 min after my scheduled 10 am appt. I almost walked out cause no one said anything to me re where my 10 am pedicure person is at. He walks in around 10:20 or so and starts working on my toes. He's 20-25 min late and no one says anything. He doesn't apologize nor does anyone else. He hardly said anything to me. I will tell everyone I know to stay away from this place. It's one of the worst nail salon places I've ever been in in my life. read more

I just wanted to get my nails removed and it was right next to my optometrist. A young lady helped me and it was obvious she was training. I'm not a complainer and I am extremely patient as I know working in customer service sucks. She had snipped my skin in error. I wanted to let her finish so she wouldn't worry about me being unhappy, which was my mistake since they had the audacity to ask me for $10. I wanted to leave her a tip since she was nice, but attempting to bargain it down to $5? I'm sure there have been positive experiences for others. This was my first and last. #1 Hair and Nails on Fairway will continue to be my salon. Edit: just to add: I've noticed a ton of acrylic left behind on my other nails (not including my thumb.) If you don't mind getting passed around and talked about then this is the place for you. Three different people worked on my nails and as you can see by the photos it shows. I have cuts, thick and thin nails and ridges too. I was rushed out of there before they were dry and told they were fine. All while they were talking to each other about the five dollar tip I left them. Gee can't imagine why. They were lucky I left that. I'm bitterly disappointed and want them to know this is why there is no loyalty among clients. Shoddy work and poor customer service makes for bad business, and I plan on telling everyone I can to stay away. If your looking for a place to relax and be pampered this is not it. I've always come here to get my nails done and loved it but today wasn't a good trip which was very disappointing. For starters, the lady that did my nails trimmed then super short even though I asked her to keep them long. Second, I picked my color, a light summer-ish purple and she told me I should go with a dark color because it makes your nails look longer and so I went along with it and then once again she changes the color to the dark, gloomy, winter-ish blue with sparkles. My step sister got the basic pedicure with a light blue polish. The lady was nice and did a really good job so props there. If this was my first time here I probably wouldn't come back but sense I've been here tons of times and know how good they really are I'll most likely be back. read more

Last time I came here in was at least 6 years ago. Not a good experience. Well sadly again another bad experience. I specifically went to this nail on shop because they had this really cute French manicure on their website. The lady says "no, we don't do that". Ok. So trying to find a different color. And she is rushing me, saying come on! Come on! I finally had to say just hold on I'm trying to see what I want to do. Then I go to her chair. I ask her for to do a two colors on my nails. She says no you can't do that! Only one color. Well I've been getting my nails done for many years so I no I can get more than one color. Then she gave me one lil book of colors. I saw some others colors out on some rings hanging right there on the wall. Oh no can't choose any of those colors. I don't know if we have those colors. And then tells me to just pick from book. Then she grabs my hands and tells me just do one color it's better, and before I can say a word she is grabbing frantically at my hands trying to remove my old polish. I finally just said ok, no thank you, no thank you and left. Whole thing was uncomfortable and strange . I did go check out a different salon in town. The lady in at this place did a great job!! And she said said you can have 2 colors lol. So I don't know if the women at California Nails just didn't feel comfortable doing two toned nails or if she just didn't want to and wanted to talk me in to basic one color nail that I didn't even want. I apologized as I never miss appointments and it was an accident. They not only made me wait 50 minutes but took two walk ins in front of me. Passive aggressive! The pink nails are what i showed the lady and told her what i wanted exactly accept instead of pink to do blue. When shaping them she started making them really pointy and when i told her she said oh wait till i put the dip powder on it wont look as pointy. Well even after they still were no where near the shape that is in the photo / the shape i had asked for. She then put my thumbs on very crooked and uneven. I kept telling her they are nothing like what i showed her and wanted and she ignored it. $65 down the drain. They are lucky i was nice enough to pay for these awful nails. read more

This nail salon is filthy! She cut my cuticle with dirty clipper which she had dropped and picked up off of the floor. My right thumb was bleeding. in less than one week it became red and painful. In two weeks I had to go into hospital Emg. for treatment due to an extremely painful, red, bleeding and swollen bacterial infection. The MD asked me if I had a recent manicure and confirmed the cause as the recent manicure. I was put on antibiotics twice over 3 weeks to finally kill the bacteria. I had to seek medical from 3 doctors. The medical bills were costly even with my Insurance coverage. I lost my entire right thumb nail and most likely will never grow or have a nail there again. read more
