When the other salon in town that I go to that starts with a Co and ends with a Co, couldn't fit us in, we came here! It's a good thing too! They're less than a mile from my house, they're clean, they accept walk-ins, not so busy and they were just as good! My husband and I both needed a pedicure, nothing fancy, just your basic pedi. I called and made an appointment and they were thoughtful enough to text me when they were running behind. The salon is modern and pretty new. They sat us both and proceeded with our pedicure and did a wonderful massage on our legs and feet. It's nice to find a place so close to home. We'll be coming back again soon! read more

I wanted to get my nails done for my birthday but had limited time to do it. I personally like to go to the smaller nail shops because they seem to give more care than looking at you like a number. I walked into the shop in hopes they could fit me right in and they were able to take me right away and they were! The nail tech was welcoming and gave me his recommendations to give me the best look. I wanted dip with tips and they had a ton of colors too choose from. They had a special book dedicated book to more neutral colors which is the book I chose from. I was tented to get a design of some sort but wasn't sure what I wanted. Since I am going on a vacation I asked the nail tech to create a design for me. The design he created gives me summer vacation vibes and I absolutely love it. The salon is super clean and from what I could see they have comfy pedicure chairs. Next time I will have to get a pedicure to try them. If you are looking for a nail salon that is reasonably priced and doesn't treat you like a number I would suggest to go here. read more

I've had nothing but disappointing experience after disappointing experience here - 1/10 do not recommend. Owner is there for the dollar & couldn't care less about the client. I tried to give this shop a chance a couple times in the last few years because it's right next to one of my favorite breakfast spots - but it's not worth it. Our first experience was in 2023: both my children's toe nails were trimmed so deep they immediately developed ingrown toenails that lasted months and required a doctors attention. After that we stopped going but then a couple years passed, we forgot that experience. Last week, our normal nail place (California Nails - Highly recommend) was booked so we tried to give VIP Nails another go - poor choice on my part. Day 1: drove 30 mins there and spent $275 on 3 pedicures, a manicure and a dip set. Day 2: 2 nails pop off the dip set. Day 3: drove 30 minutes back to have the 2 nails redone by someone else. Day 4: all the rest of the nails from the first time start popping off. Day 5: drove 30 minutes back assuming the owner would be doing them at this point but only to have the same person who did them the first time do them again. Day 6: the 2 nails that were redone in day 3 start chipping. Day 7: nails from the set on day 5 start lifting Day 8: 3 nails have popped off from the second set on day 3. Day 9: I called the owner and said I didnt want to drive 30 minutes back for the 4th time in a week and asked for him to just refund me my $45 dip service. I didnt even ask for my $30 tip back, only the $45 service fee. His response? "No refund, it's your fingers that are the problem, I don't care what you do, go away." And then hung up on me. I've been going to California Nails for years and have had the best experience and never had a nail lift once. On this one day they were booked during the window I had available and now I regret going to VIP Nails out of convenience. read more

I am so happy with her work. My nails are beautiful. I was going to another salon and April commented that my nails had three different shapes! She also waxed my eyebrows. I'm leaving this review which is sad as a first time customer. We made an appointment at 10:15am their sign on the door states they don't open till 10:30am? Weird? First impression annoyed, because we drove from Rocklin to come try this place out. Usually a regular of the other VIP nails which we love. So I get seated for my pedicure and my sister for her full set. Mind you no one's here yet. So she asked me a question about what color across the room cuz she couldn't text me. She didn't scream it, she wasn't intruding anyone else's space, the owner who's doing her nails says "why you talk so far away". Um because you had both hands and she couldn't text me. So as he proceeds to do her nails and just making conversation he then makes another comment, "why did you come here instead of Citrus Heights". Well we came here because of the reviews and wanted to try it and it was closer than going to Citrus Heights but the better question is why not? Don't you want our business. Then he makes another comment, " stating to not breathe easier because it's going straight in his face." Mind you she's a mouth breather because her nose is messed up but really who makes 3 comments all within 10-15 of us being here to a client he's getting paid to do her nails. Made her want to get up and leave while I'm in the middle of my pedicure. Only reason 2 stars the lady who did my pedicure was super nice and I enjoy it. Minus how my acrylic nail turned out super chunky not filed down. Will def not be coming back here unfortunately if the owner can treat his clients and new ones at that so poorly just shows the type of business he is choosing to run. At the end of my service, they tried to charge me $10 more than their menu states for acrylics. When I said the price is different on the menu in the front when you walk in the door, they made me feel really uncomfortable the whole time I was there. Then within a day one of my nails popped off. The next day another nail popped off. Now it's been 1 week and I have a third nail that just popped off while I was brushing my teeth. I needed my nails done for a commercial I was shooting in that area, otherwise I would have never gone to get my nails done there, as I have a great nail salon in Los Angeles I use when I need my nails done. I have been getting acrylics for 20+ years and have never had the nails just pop off ever, let alone within days of getting a fresh set. I really do not recommend this place. If I was still in the area I would be demanding a full refund from them. These nails are absolute trash. read more

I have found my favorite nail salon in my area! I won't go anywhere else! I recently moved to Lincoln and I found them on a whim because my old salon I went to was booked solid for a few days and I googled a nail place in Lincoln and they were number 1 in my area!what's even more insane is they're 2 mins from my house! I could walk there! So of course I made an appointment so quick! It's hard to find a good nail salon with decent prices and they do exactly what you ask for. Show them a pic on Pinterest and they'll do it. No questions asked! And I definitely recommend you let them freestyle sometimes if you're debating on what you're wanting to do. They will surprise you with their talents! My nails and hands are the first thing people notice at my job. Plus due to the pandemic we have to wear a mask, and you can't really express yourself with anything else while wearing masks, so my nails I take much pride in because that's the only thing that shows exactly the kind of person I am! April and Danny run a clean tight business and they do absolutely phenomenal work! They are very friendly and hilarious if you get them talking! They are absolutely the best people and you can tell that they genuinely care about each person that walks in. I recommend them to all of my friends and family who love getting the special attention and treatment at a salon! Salons are our downtime. Some don't get a lot of relaxation during the week so it's nice to take an hour or so to relax and do a little self care and you get it there at VIP! I won't go anywhere else! I was looking for a new nail person on Yelp and decided to try out VIP Nails. I called in the morning and was able to get an appointment for a fill a mere 2 hours later with Danny. I can see how people might misconstrue his quiet, shy nature as "rude" (see previous reviews), but he's actually just soft spoken, working really hard, and literally doing the job of three people. I ended up getting a bad nail infection from this place!!! They did a wonderful job on my nails but the damage they caused to my nails is not worth the quality job they did! For starters I got a full set of just regular acrylic nails with a really neat flower foil stamp on each ring finger. The nails last long but that is because they literally wouldn't come off even after I filed them down with a professional nail drill and soaked them in acetone! They literally were melted to my real nail! Then after I finally was able to get the remaining fake nail removed my nails started to peel and then 6 of MY REAL NAILS FELL OFF completely! I had to go buy nail infection solution to apply to my nails which finally started to heal them but to this day they're not the same and very fragile and uneven in both texture and growth! I also got a pedicure which also caused me to get a nail infection and my big toenail fell off too!!! These pictures are from about 6 months after going to this place and are finally starting to grow back! I know the infection was caused by this place because I haven't been to any other nail salon, I haven't touched my nails and I work in the medical field and constantly wash my hands and educated on what nail infections and fungus look like and this is the only source that could have caused this type of infection! I didn't notice a autoclave or sanitation station in place that disinfects the tools they use but they could have them in the back and not in the public eye! They also TAKE A VERY VERY VERY LONG TIME to finish a full set and a SHORT time for the pedicure!! My full set cost $50 for just a regular acrylic full set and nail stamp on each ring finger!! The pedicure was around $40!! If they read this PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make sure you're educating all employees on how to properly disinfect and sterilize tools use, the tubs used for pedicures as well as the making sure you don't cross contaminate the solutions you're using and only use the top of the line products by trusted companies and brands! This has ruined my nails to the point they may never get back to being healthy like before which is unacceptable and dangerous!! read more

I have been going to VIP since it opened. Had my first ever acrylic nails. I returned a several weeks only later to be chastised by Danny for not coming in sooner to have a fill since i could have caused an infection (Danny needs an attitude adjustment). I was never told when to come in for a fill when I had the acrylic's done since it was my first time with acrylic's. Danny then proceeded to use a fake nail to rip off my acrylic nails damaging all of my nail beds. I later learned they should have been soaked off. My nails are still recovering. I'm sorry to say I will not be returning. read more

EDIT: they use MMA(when soaking your nails to take them off, they'll become gooey and wont come off without alot of force.) not EMA (easy to come off, takes about 5-10 minutes tops). meaning its cheap, harmful and makes your nails look and become TERRIBLE. MMA IS A DENTAL ACRYLIC! this is what my nails look like an HOUR (took me 2 1/2 HOURS to finish both of my nails.) after soaking them, sanding them, and repeating. I will never be returning here. I spent $90 for a full set, and two pedicures? The pedicures lasted 30 minutes and my nails took an hour (they said over the phone it would take 30 min.). SO displeased. I cant believe this. Amazing job done by Amy!! Very kind and respectful :) i never get my nails done so i cant speak on experience but she was very gentle, kind, and accomidating! the use brand new tools everytime and are super sweet!! read more

Went here after going around to multiple nail salons in Lincoln trying to find a new one after moving. I've heard lots of good things about this salon so I decided to give them a shot. When I got there Danny started on my nails and then he switch me over to some other girl and she didn't seem to know what she was doing. She couldn't get the dip powder stuff on and after about 45 mints of struggling Danny came over and fixed it and that took an additional 20/25 minutes. Meanwhile the lady who started way after me finished way before me. Once he fixed them she went back to painting them and did a fairly good job. The paint job and shape came out good but my whole hard is now covered in glue and it totally takes away from that fresh manicure look. Total bummer. read more

I've been going here for over 2 years now and Danny has done my nails every 2 weeks. But after today I will not set foot in there ever again. I'm not one to write bad reviews ever but I'm so mad about my experience I want to warn others about the lack of customer service. Like a couple of the reviews below the same happened to me!! It's not the first time Danny has spoken to me in a way I can only describe as the way an adult would chastise a child .... but today was the worst by far! I was spoken to in such a disrespectful & demeaning manner (in front of all the other customers too) all because I asked about two certain colors that apparently look different in the bottle to that on their color swatch templates. I was so embarrassed and felt very humiliated. I did try and explain how he was being rude and but he wanted to obviously prove a point and continue to raise his voice at me. This being said...I felt rushed to choose a color and have ended up with something I didn't really want. His customer service skills definitely need big improvement!!! I've recommended this place to SO many people but now I'm done!! They do not look after their regulars and I will not be made to feel like I did today by VIP nails on Nicholas Road!! read more
