It's clear this is the go-to coffee place of downtown Paso - the line every morning is at least 8-15 people deep. I did hesitate to wait, but if people are committed to that line even when there are other coffee shops around - that means it's good! Worth it to be as long as your not in a rush. Their coffee was fantastic - lattes, miel, and even just a cup black really was great. The service is slow, but the girls working the counter were sweet and friendly. They have the doors open and I will say there are tons of bugs inside. It's nice to sit in an open air space though to wait and relax during the morning. Cute shop! read more

The line was long, the shop was packed, but it was worth the wait. The cortado was perfect and the vibe was exactly what I expected from a town perfectly situated between the beach and wineries. My husband and I went there for three consecutive mornings and loved looking into their little Bakery box display to see what new scones, cookies, banana bread varieties were available. We went to Spearhead coffee to get some caffeine after lunch and this place really hit the spot! It's a cute trendy spot in the middle of downtown of paso and looked pretty popular. Once we got here we ordered: * vanilla latte - this was yummy and light and the fiancé really enjoyed this drink. Perfect for a cold day * butterscotch latte - I had some of my friends drink and I really liked this one - it's definitely on the richer side, but super unique and yummy. There was a long line, but not long enough we would've expected such an insane wait. I just got the Thai iced tea which was good but did not taste anything like a classic asian version. Coffee is okay, nothing special. Have been there several times, but this time would be the end. I ordered a French onion bagel that's totally burned. When we told them about the situation, all the staff members insisted that's called caramelized. Seriously? What I had was called Charcoal. The most hilarious part was that they all said it in a way that the charcoal was sooo delicious and I was so lucky to have it. This was my second time at spearhead. They have seating both outside and inside. They're a busy coffee shop but they can take your order and complete it very quickly. The staff was very kind and helped me find a non-coffee-based beverage. I got the chai with coconut milk, and honey. I requested that it be made not as hot so I could drink it immediately and everything about my order was perfect. The decorations are adorable, but not over the top. I enjoy the aesthetic of the space and they have a billboard in the back featuring local opportunities by the bathrooms. Be sure to check out the key if you want to use the bathroom and take a walk around the shops by the park. It's about a half block away. read more

We always like to check out local coffee spots and after asking some of the locals where to go it was pretty much decided on this spot. It's a beautiful space in downtown Paso Robles with numerous tables and seating. Just about every spot has a power outlet and there were many people on their laptops. There was a bit of a line but it went fairly fast and the girls behind the counter were friendly and efficient. We ordered two of the house (drip) coffee and you can taste the quality of the beans and the roasting. We enjoyed the coffee and the service. read more

Was in Paso for the weekend and one of my favorite things to do is to try new coffee shops from wherever I'm traveling to. We came across Spearhead and the reviews did not lie. Everyone enjoyed their coffee and the service was friendly. I had the Iced Vanilla Oat Latte and it was one of the better ones I had. The vanilla flavor came through without over powering the drink. It wasn't overly sweet and the espresso was strong. In addition to their regular menu, they also have a rotating menu with a variety of specialty drinks. One of my friends had an cold brew with goats milk. Didn't sound too appetizing, but it was amazing. Smooth, creamy, and well balanced. When in your Paso, please make it a point to stop by. My daughter and I stopped in one afternoon looking for a good coffee. We ordered their special for the day, the Winter Solstice. We were both so excited to taste it as it sounded delicious, only to find we each received a cup of frothed milk. It was so disappointing. Hopefully mine is the exception and just a one-off experience, but this was our first time here and literally the worst experience I've ever had at a coffee shop, so felt the need to have to post this. All we got was drip coffee and a hot tea and literally waited almost 20 minutes. Then when we asked, they looked at us like we were idiots, and barely even got a, "sorry about that." The 2 younger lady's working were nice, I saw how I'm assuming the manager, the oldest of them all were very rude to their employees, there drinks are not all that great, there tea is pretty much sub par, and the coffee is not tasty at all. After discovering this place a couple years ago in a yearly Paso trip, I made sure to come back every time we are in town. The store is pretty, I love the cascading plants everywhere, they also sell merch and coffee beans on the corner. The couple times I have been it was always busy but usually still a couple seats available. We get a quiche and a latte and omg that quiche. I dream about that quiche and I cannot wait to have that quiche the next year after I just had it. It is super light, creamy, and the pastry crust is buttery, flaky and thin. It is usually the highlight of my experience when I visit. The coffee is also amazing, I usually get what the seasonal latte is and it never disappoints. The staff are friendly and quick so we usually don't wait insanely long. Overall would recommend for anyone in the area! read more

Be ready for a long wait if you come during peak times! Getting coffee was a 45 minute experience from arrival to coffee receival on a Saturday morning around 11 am. The display case had a number of pastries, but some were not labeled. I was able to confirm that they offered a vegan option (vegan chocolate bundt cake) after inquiring at the register. The oat vanilla latte was pretty standard, but oddly the consistency was a little grainy that day. Not sure why. The chocolate cake was my favorite from Spearhead though, it was decadent and not overly sweet. Would definitely get this again! read more

On a recent trip to Paso Robles, I was walking around the charming downtown area and stumbled upon Spearhead Coffee. It was a hot summer day, so I decided to stop in to see if they offered cold brew. To my delight, one of their daily specials was Horchata Cold Brew. I was pleasantly surprised by how fast and friendly the service was. There was no line at the time of my visit, around noon on a weekend, and the baristas prepared my order of four drinks in about five minutes. The Horchata Cold Brew was creamy, lightly flavored with cinnamon and sugar, and very refreshing. Yummy! This is a large coffee shop in Paso Robles that is popular for coffee. They have quite a line on Saturday morning. The friendly staff is working to fill all of those orders. We did not sit and enjoy the beautiful space for our coffee, but the Mexican mocha was outstanding. I will definitely come again. read more

Came in and got a lemon scone and an iced latte. Service was friendly, the art hanging is nice. The wait wasn't bad, but I was in early. The coffee was really good and the scone was flaky, with a lemon glaze that was so good I thought about licking the inside of the package.
