I stopped by here on a Sunday morning before leaving town. I'm not sure if it's because there's not a lot of specialty coffee spots in the area, but this place was super busy. The folks here definitely had their work cut out for them, but they still were friendly as ever. The inside space is clean and nice and everybody seemed pretty chill. There were some coffee specialty drinks for sale as well as regular drip. There were also bags of beans for sale and you can see that they roast their beans in house. I didn't get anything fancy. I just got a mug of the regular coffee. The coffee tasted fantastic. It has that fresh roast/nutty flavor. I like in my coffee. I add just a little bit of cream to smooth it out or decrease the acidity. The body of mine and me just sat out front enjoying the crisp morning before it got too hot. Definitely a great spot in this town and the parking was really easy to find as well. My buddy and I just walked over from a motel. We were staying at close by so it was very conveniently located as well. read more

Great little coffee shop in a charming town! There's a good selection of coffee choices and alternative milks along with some freshly baked pastries ranging from vegan to gluten free. Service here is great, I found the people in Paso very hospitable and pleasant as well. I ordered an Americano with almond milk, pretty good, but for me I will get some extra espresso shots, I like it strong. Ah... Memories of Paso Robles. I came to downtown area on my way back to Bay Area. Spearhead Coffee was right in my vicinity and it was perfect place for a cup of coffee. Stopped in for cold drinks on a hot day. We ordered the 3 iced drinks off their current specialty menu. The lady in front of me was exchanging a sweatshirt & asking a ton of questions about drinks too . The clerks behind the counter were as patient as can be. They were both very chill and super helpful. The drinks were delicious - the Horchata was not too rice- or cinnamon-flavored, it was subtle; the Thai tea wasn't crazy sweet, nor did it punch you in the face like some strong versions. The Jamaica Limonada was originally for my son, but I now know that he's not a big fan, so I finished it off, no problem. We sat & watched while the barista made our drinks. It's apparent they're made with care & attention to detail. The place was pretty quiet, people were on their phones/ devices, others were browsing the merch (beanies, mugs, coffee beans, stickers, etc.)... it had good outdoor light coming in, soft lights above, & greenery all over. One of the most important characteristics of an excellent Coffee house is excellent coffee. Very few, if any reviews reveal the actual coffee...and barely reveal that this business does some great on site bean roasting. They do offer bags of beans in the shop. I discovered Spearhead Brazilian coffee down here in the Pismo area, what was a now defunct breakfast shop called Mellow Banana in AG. The Spearhead 5lb bag of coffee was not as impressive as the taste. It was nicely roasted & had citrus overtones, while not being bitter. It some ways in reminds me of some of the finest expensive Panamanian Giesha coffees that I have bought from Stack roasters online. Some Gieshas are some of the most expensive coffees on earth. This Brazilian coffee tastes to me like if a Geisha varietal was grown in Kona. In fact, I recently did find some interesting Kona beans online that come from small Kona family farms that have unusual beans that are not typical. This Spearhead coffee was robust enough to stand up to Waffles covered in real Maple Syrup. The fruitiness was evident in the aroma of the coffee. While it seems that the original of most of the offerings in the store for already made coffee are possibly not of an excellent single origin, one can buy a bag either online or sometimes in store. I loved their honeycomb latte! It's a bit of a wait to get your coffee as there are quite a few people who know about this place but it's not terrible. I'd say it was around 20 minutes from waiting in line to ordering and then getting our coffee. read more

It's clear this is the go-to coffee place of downtown Paso - the line every morning is at least 8-15 people deep. I did hesitate to wait, but if people are committed to that line even when there are other coffee shops around - that means it's good! Worth it to be as long as your not in a rush. Their coffee was fantastic - lattes, miel, and even just a cup black really was great. The service is slow, but the girls working the counter were sweet and friendly. They have the doors open and I will say there are tons of bugs inside. It's nice to sit in an open air space though to wait and relax during the morning. Cute shop! read more

Tried the honeycomb latte special and it was yummy. I always get things half sweet because I don't like super sugary coffee and it was perfect. The shop is so cute and had a nice coffee shop feel. Also tried the strawberry matcha and loved that it was only sweetened with the natural strawberry puree. read more

Reasonable prices! $4 for a basic large brew coffee! Excellent service. There is ample seating inside, local Paso Robles magazines for reading and local newspapers. We went to Spearhead coffee to get some caffeine after lunch and this place really hit the spot! It's a cute trendy spot in the middle of downtown of paso and looked pretty popular. Once we got here we ordered: * vanilla latte - this was yummy and light and the fiancé really enjoyed this drink. Perfect for a cold day * butterscotch latte - I had some of my friends drink and I really liked this one - it's definitely on the richer side, but super unique and yummy. Well, I finally did it and I am pretty sure I found two really great shops. They were full with locals and travelers. One of those shops was Spearhead Coffee Co. The line was long, the shop was packed, but it was worth the wait. The cortado was perfect and the vibe was exactly what I expected from a town perfectly situated between the beach and wineries. This was my second time at spearhead. They have seating both outside and inside. They're a busy coffee shop but they can take your order and complete it very quickly. The staff was very kind and helped me find a non-coffee-based beverage. I got the chai with coconut milk, and honey. I requested that it be made not as hot so I could drink it immediately and everything about my order was perfect. The decorations are adorable, but not over the top. I enjoy the aesthetic of the space and they have a billboard in the back featuring local opportunities by the bathrooms. Be sure to check out the key if you want to use the bathroom and take a walk around the shops by the park. It's about a half block away. read more

It's a beautiful space in downtown Paso Robles with numerous tables and seating. Just about every spot has a power outlet and there were many people on their laptops. There was a bit of a line but it went fairly fast and the girls behind the counter were friendly and efficient. Merchandise is cute. Location is close to hotels off the main part of town. Staff was unfriendly, not welcoming, and did not look happy they or customers were there. I ordered a hot (as they could possibly make it) black Americano that was lighter than a cuo of tea I brewed earlier that morning. The gluten free blueberry bread was tasty and it's only saving grace. You're better off drinking the coffee that's included in your hotel stay. read more

Was in Paso for the weekend and one of my favorite things to do is to try new coffee shops from wherever I'm traveling to. We came across Spearhead and the reviews did not lie. Everyone enjoyed their coffee and the service was friendly. I had the Iced Vanilla Oat Latte and it was one of the better ones I had. The vanilla flavor came through without over powering the drink. It wasn't overly sweet and the espresso was strong. In addition to their regular menu, they also have a rotating menu with a variety of specialty drinks. One of my friends had an cold brew with goats milk. Didn't sound too appetizing, but it was amazing. Smooth, creamy, and well balanced. When in your Paso, please make it a point to stop by. There was a long line, but not long enough we would've expected such an insane wait. I just got the Thai iced tea which was good but did not taste anything like a classic asian version. This one lacked sweetness and tasted quite watery, I'm sure it's healthier but did not taste traditional. After discovering this place a couple years ago in a yearly Paso trip, I made sure to come back every time we are in town. The store is pretty, I love the cascading plants everywhere, they also sell merch and coffee beans on the corner. The couple times I have been it was always busy but usually still a couple seats available. We get a quiche and a latte and omg that quiche. I dream about that quiche and I cannot wait to have that quiche the next year after I just had it. It is super light, creamy, and the pastry crust is buttery, flaky and thin. It is usually the highlight of my experience when I visit. The coffee is also amazing, I usually get what the seasonal latte is and it never disappoints. The staff are friendly and quick so we usually don't wait insanely long. Overall would recommend for anyone in the area! read more

On a recent trip to Paso Robles, I was walking around the charming downtown area and stumbled upon Spearhead Coffee. It was a hot summer day, so I decided to stop in to see if they offered cold brew. To my delight, one of their daily specials was Horchata Cold Brew. I was pleasantly surprised by how fast and friendly the service was. There was no line at the time of my visit, around noon on a weekend, and the baristas prepared my order of four drinks in about five minutes. The Horchata Cold Brew was creamy, lightly flavored with cinnamon and sugar, and very refreshing. Coffee is okay, nothing special. Have been there several times, but this time would be the end. I ordered a French onion bagel that's totally burned. When we told them about the situation, all the staff members insisted that's called caramelized. Seriously? What I had was called Charcoal.
