On a recent trip to Paso Robles, I was walking around the charming downtown area and stumbled upon Spearhead Coffee. It was a hot summer day, so I decided to stop in to see if they offered cold brew. To my delight, one of their daily specials was Horchata Cold Brew. I was pleasantly surprised by how fast and friendly the service was. There was no line at the time of my visit, around noon on a weekend, and the baristas prepared my order of four drinks in about five minutes. The Horchata Cold Brew was creamy, lightly flavored with cinnamon and sugar, and very refreshing. The cafe had plenty of indoor seating, and I grabbed a window seat with a view of the park nearby. read more

Cute coffee shop just in downtown Paso Robles! Loved the inside of the shop - they had seating right outside as well. There was only one person working when we arrived. The cashier/barista was super friendly and helpful. My group ordered a couple of americanos and lattes. I opted for an iced vanilla latte. It was a nice pick me up drink to have in the afternoon. The latte was a bit on the sweeter side, but still really enjoyable. I feel like the prices were very fair and I would definitely stop by again if I'm in the area! read more

My daughter and I stopped in one afternoon looking for a good coffee. We ordered their special for the day, the Winter Solstice. We were both so excited to taste it as it sounded delicious, only to find we each received a cup of frothed milk. It was so disappointing. The staff was busy talking to each other to really even engage with us at all. Its a small coffee house in downtown Paseo, but not on our return list. The decor was nice. read more

You go to spearhead. :-p from the handmade delicious breakfast options, light bites (get there early or they will sell out) to the vegan oat cup and hand crafted lattes, these baristas of passion will suit you're desired needs of caffeine with their expertise! While you wait in line you can see into their kitchen and roasting area, where all the magic happens. It's a pretty site and organized, noting that I also really enjoy the vibe and ambience here even just to hang... My go-to drinks are; double shot of espresso , one of their iced lattes or their dirty matcha is pretty yum too! read more

Hopefully mine is the exception and just a one-off experience, but this was our first time here and literally the worst experience I've ever had at a coffee shop, so felt the need to have to post this. All we got was drip coffee and a hot tea and literally waited almost 20 minutes. Then when we asked, they looked at us like we were idiots, and barely even got a, "sorry about that." Spearhead Coffee is located right in the heart of Paso Robles. The shop itself has a good amount of seating and tons of items that you can purchase with their logo on it. Some of the items are hats, beanies, shirts, etc. The menu is pretty straightforward for a local coffee shop: espresso based beverages, cold brews, and teas. They also have a few pastry selections to choose from like muffins and croissants. // DRINKS // VANILLA LATTE: As basic as you can get but absolutely delicious. I enjoyed this very much since it was a chilly day outside. The amount of vanilla syrup added was just the right amount and not too sweet. AZTEC MOCHA: Mocha latte with a kick. It had a spices added to it but I can't put my finger on what it was. Almost like cinnamon but it also slightly tasted like a gingerbread cookie. It was just okay to me and I preferred the vanilla latte more. Overall, I would definitely recommend checking out Spearhead Coffee if you are in the area. read more

*4.5 stars Omg Please please please do yourself a favor and if you're anywhere close to this coffee shop, you should definitely make a pit stop !!! Me and my craving wanted to stop a coffee shop before leaving back to the San Fernando valley after our wine tasting experience and decided to give this place a try!! About 10 mins from the wineries, you will need to park in the streets or possibly find parking in the little parking lot next to the coffee show whichever is easier. So we order a vanilla latte, miel brew and got myself an espresso shot since I'm a caffeine addict lol and omg their flavor is out this world , authentic, sweet but not sweet , you can taste the coffee on all your pallets of the tongue ! Blast of flavor in my mouth HOWEVER service wasn't the greatest, we asked questions and felt like the answers were forced and the employee was Either having a long day or possible went wine tasting the night before ! But service was fast, and we got our drinks quickly !!! Vibes are very homey and chill, very small place but I mean what do you expect all coffee shops to be as big as Starbucks !!!! The 2 younger lady's working were nice, I saw how I'm assuming the manager, the oldest of them all were very rude to their employees, there drinks are not all that great, there tea is pretty much sub par, and the coffee is not tasty at all. I've been to many coffee shops all around local towns near Paso, and this one is at the bottom of my list. Prices are high, portions are small. Will not be going again. read more

Be ready for a long wait if you come during peak times! Getting coffee was a 45 minute experience from arrival to coffee receival on a Saturday morning around 11 am. The display case had a number of pastries, but some were not labeled. I was able to confirm that they offered a vegan option (vegan chocolate bundt cake) after inquiring at the register. The oat vanilla latte was pretty standard, but oddly the consistency was a little grainy that day. Not sure why. The chocolate cake was my favorite from Spearhead though, it was decadent and not overly sweet. Would definitely get this again! read more

It is a cute coffee spot in the square. Longest line I have probably ever been in for coffee. Because of the long line, customers were getting upset on wait times, drinks sat on the bar getting cold as they only called out the drink type and the baristas seemed overwhelmed and not the friendliest. Got an americano, pumpkin spice latte and nitro cold brew. The americano was quite "weak", the pumpkin spice was more of a chai latte style and the nitro cold brew was quite underwhelming. Yummy! This is a large coffee shop in Paso Robles that is popular for coffee. They have quite a line on Saturday morning. The friendly staff is working to fill all of those orders. We did not sit and enjoy the beautiful space for our coffee, but the Mexican mocha was outstanding. I will definitely come again. read more

Came in and got a lemon scone and an iced latte. Service was friendly, the art hanging is nice. The wait wasn't bad, but I was in early. The coffee was really good and the scone was flaky, with a lemon glaze that was so good I thought about licking the inside of the package. Was very disappointed with this coffee I asked the lady taking orders to recommend something to me and didn't like it. I also have a sip of my fiancés coffee and it was also very bland. We waited for our coffees for about 20 minutes, and the barista was about to give our drinks to a different customer. The lady who was taking orders stopped him. I usually have a better experience coming here but over the past year the service and consistency of the drinks are disappointing. It took more 15 minutes for my order to be completed. Even worst, they got my order wrong and gave one of our drink to someone else. There'e no system in place and no names marked on the cups. Not even a shout out that the drinks are ready. Got the Mikey which is a nitro cold brew with Dominican chocolate topped with milk and was pleasantly surprised. Very smooth and chocolatey but not too sweet. Interior is pretty nice, decent amount of seating good for working. It wasn't too busy on a Tuesday afternoon. Would come again for other coffee drinks! read more

There are 15 of us in line. There are 6 people working here. Apparently only one of them can work the register. The cashier turned to her coworkers and said "I'm going to go restock the bathrooms" and left. Everyone else refused to work the register and so 15 of us just waited 10 minutes for her to restock the bathroom before we could order our coffees. Pretty disrespectful to the people in line. Next time I'm going to New Amsterdam around the corner. Coffee was mid to be honest. Service was crap. read more

Spearhead is a must when passing thru Paso. Their coffee is high caliber and we'll-known amongst coffee heads in CA like myself. I had a pumpkin spice latte with oatmilk. Although seasonal and basic, the pumpkin sauce was made with actual pumkpin purée and it's quite good! Probably one of the best I've had. I always buy their beans every time I pass by as well. I purchased their Costa Rican beans this time around. Not a huge fan of the seating with the backless chairs but the service and quality make it worth the trip. read more
