Spazios has great service and great food. My family and I go there all the time. The bread and hummus is delish. Might be the best hummus around. My cousin has a really bad nut allergy and they always get her special bread and hummus that hasnt touched any of the other pieces of bread so she can eat it without worrying. We had a function there with about 50 people and they did a fantastic job the hostess, bartenders, and servers are great. the food is great. This is a very cute place on he inside, looks like a strip mall from the outside but it is very pretty on the inside. Went as a party of 5 and the waitress was very friendly and professional. The menu is a bit limited but it's your typical italian restaurant. The food is good but i think it could be more fresh and the deserts are good too. Their chicken under a brick is to die for! The chicken parm is great too, as are their pork chops. Atmosphere is warm (we always sit at a table on the bar side) and the servers are friendly and accommodating. Love their wine selection, one of the only places nearby that serves chianti Classico ruffino, which is available in the half bottle only. We had a very nice and attentive waitress but a very long time to get our meal. The spring roll appetizer was very light and crunchy. The portions were generous. I did not care much for the stuffed chicken breast. I think it was the stuffing. Otherwise only average. I loved this place. We found it through a Groupon. The service was amazing. Our waitress was beautiful,extremely pleasant, polite and sweet. I had the steak, which I am such a picky eater (seriously at times I can be a pain in the ass),but they made it with spinach, onions and something else I wanted. My bf had some lamb something or other. I don't get crazy like he does, it's either chicken,steak, or pizza for me. But he loved it. It was his first time trying it, but he was very pleased. Then it was off to dessert, we chose an Amaretto cake. Ok so us two idiots, we only thought Amaretto was an alcohol, which it is,but it's made from almonds, which is fine, if my bf didn't have a nut allergy. So we dive into this cake, which is AWESOME, then I'm like WTF! This has nuts in it! So he stops eating it and the waitress returns and she thought it was odd that my bf wasn't eating it since he was so eager to order it. He then her of his allergy that once hospitalized him (which was his fault), and she felt bad and gave him a different cake for free. I finished off the other. I felt so bad because she felt terrible. My bf just found out about his allergy, it just came out of nowhere and we had no idea about amarettos. I swear. lol. Totally under rated and under the radar spot in Braintree. The fact that this place is hardly ever crazy busy is frustrating to me. Braintree needs more Spazio's and less Chilli's and Cheesecake Factories. The apps and pasta courses here rule. Have not had a bad one yet in multiple visits. The Bolognese is 5 star!! remember seeing Spazio being built some 25 years ago when I was out for a run in my East Braintree neighborhood. Due to open in a few weeks, chef Michael saw me peering through the glass windows and invited me in for a tour of what was to be a great neighborhood destination. And it was ---- We dined there almost weekly and enjoyed every meal from it's innovated Italian-styled menu. Gracious service supplemented our weekly visits. Fast forward to today. I'm still a regular, just not as often. The menu has been down-sized but still carefully chosen. Some of the servers from its initiation are still there (or were). When Chef Michael is cooking or just present, I find the meals offered are executed properly & timely. After almost 25+ years of patronage at both the restaurant & bar, I find it almost inexcusable that there is no recognition (not even a head nod) by the chef! (but ALWAYS by the usual wait staff & bartender) That aside: They have some of the best hummus starter on the South Shore. Also, the maple gazed pork tenderloin, an original menu item from "back in the day" is a consistent menu staple (if Michael is cooking). They also offer a decent flatbread pizza and well made parmesana favs in the form of veal & chicken. Gone are their days of the glorious veal chop but on a not too recent I had a very respectable pork chop with vinegar peppers. An Italian classic done well (Michael was cooking this night). If servers Dee or Patty are there waiting your tables, your experience will be memorable. Other ventures with other servers & chefs have proved to be lest memorable. Also, they need a better wine menu. The selections, particularly by the glass, are from the bargain aisle with a higher end price tag. Often the reds have been opened too long & oxidized -- so beware. Ask when the bottle was opened before you order. Not a bad place overall but not up to their opening days standard.May the luck of the chef & servers be with you! BEWARE: If you go on a Groupon night, be prepared to WAIT, WAIT, WAIT. I was hit on incessantly by a 6'7" string bean macho dude "Joe" who wouldn't take the hint and wouldn't shut up about what an important business guy he was. Wouldn't have been a big deal except that the bartender and waitstaff seemed to encourage his gross behavior and chastised me for refusing his advances. Guess he's a regular there and the staff serves as his pimp. We ate and left quickly. He was still waiting, hoping I changed my mind or could sacrifice one of my friends. Yuck. We went on a Saturday night to celebrate an anniversary. We were promptly seated and the owner came by with a bread basket soon after we sat down. Our waitress came to take our drink orders shortly thereafter. Service was very good, and in fact excellent, and the food was good. We never felt rushed and enjoyed our meal. All of us had to take our leftovers home as the portions are large. The grilled pizza was a great starter as we all shared it -- the thin crust was fabulous. The wines are reasonably priced. I agree with the comments that it is underrated and a good find in the Braintree area. If you can, ask to be seated where Sarah can serve you as she is the best!!! read more

My wife and I just returned from dinner at Spazio's and it was excellent. Although before we went we did not know quite waht to expect with some of the miced reviews, our experience was very positive. Both for service and food quality. I had the mussels and clams appetizer, which was excellent, and a grilled half duck entre which was superb, crispy and not at all fatty as duck can sometimes be. My wife's seafood dishes were very good as well she said (although I think my choices were the best). In addition, the waitress was very friendly and attentive. read more

Went in for drinks with some friends and were basically ignored for the first 10 minutes while he chatted up another staff member. Finally got our drinks .Ignored again...... When I go I hope they have something good for specials or I will have to settle for the same old things. John the bartender is the best part of the experience. Service was great and food was delicious. We got the chicken on a brick, chicken marsala, and one of their specials lobster risotto with scallops. Calamari was hot and crunchy but wished there was more flavor and bigger portions, we had to salt and squeeze every drop of the lemon. The special entree portion was very small compared to the other entrees. Their breadsticks served with the hummus/olive oil is good. A hidden gem in Braintree. The food is outstanding! Great place to eat and mingle. First taste the homemade bread and hummus a great way to start then I suggest the clams and mussels appetizers but save a couple of pieces of bread to dip in the sauce oh my yum. Then my favorite is the pork tenderloin and the chicken under a brick. The wine is a great selections at a fair price which is unusual with that caliber of food. Leave room for dessert the bartender told me all the desserts are homemade and so far I have tried the blueberry cheese cake and the cannoli's and boy are they awesome to finish with. I had been a long-time customer of Spazio and have raved for years about how it has my favorite chicken parm anywhere... until my visit last night. Our usual waitresses, who are dolls, were not there and the menu has been cut drastically, several beers were also no longer available, not to mention they had no limes, seems like they're having trouble and are cutting corners everywhere, including food and service. We had a rude, too-busy waitress who never came to check to ask how our food was, if she had, we would have sent the meals back. Chicken was gritty, fatty and grossed us out. When the waitress finally came over to ask about dessert, we said no and began to explain about our food. She cut us off and told us how busy she was with serving other customers and that's why she had sent the hostess over to clear our plates. That's not an excuse to ignore your other customers, sorry. The inexperienced hostess by the way could barely move in her clothes which were so tight and short that you felt like you were in a gentleman's club instead of a refined Italian restaurant. She also brought us bread that she had cut with her hands and placed each piece individually in the basket with her hands. Sanitation is questionable here. It is sad to say that I will not return to Spazio any longer. I won't be surprised when they go out of business in the near future if they keep this service and food quality up. read more

My husband and I used to love Spazios, but the last 2 times we went there, they overcooked my husband's fish entree and then the next time my filet, which normally wouldn't be that big of a deal, however, the wait time to re-cook the food (specifically the filet...I don't really remember the time it was the fish) was over 30 minutes. The waitress kept coming over and apologizing for the long wait...not her fault, I understand. We had brought my parents who were in town visiting, and instead of it being a nice relaxing wonderful meal. I was left annoyed and disappointed. I told everyone to go ahead and eat...my husband waited and ended up eating a cold meal. After waiting 30 minutes my meal finally arrived, and everyone was finished eating (and had been for at least 10 minutes). So, instead of enjoying my meal, I felt rushed and ate it quickly. The manager never came over and apologized, which in a restaurant like this, I was surprised, and disappointed. They didn't offer to comp my meal or offer a complimentary dessert...nothing. It's not like we spent $30...our bill was $245. It should have been a great experience. Unfortunately, we will not be back. You're going to lose a lot of customers if this is the way you do business. read more

We went here for the first time and will not be going back. First we were sat and it was so cold we couldn't take our coats off; our kids were even complaining. We asked for the air to be turned down and 10 minutes later our waitress who failed to tell us her name and said it was turned off while it was clearly still blowing cold air. Another girl said the guy didn't turn it off so now we are being lied to. Second, our unknown waitress decided she could fit us in 10 min after being sat down, finally asked us for drinks orders and apologized for catching up on her other tables as they were obviously more important. It really wasn't that busy. Third, we asked to move. We were told ok, the girl said let me help, moved a plate and then they made us move ourselves! WTF! The food finally came, wasn't amazing a little dry and not great pieces of meat. The waitress came by right after dropping the food off to ask if it was OK and then never came back. Instead she spent the entire time gossiping with another girl right behind our table. We were her only table and we constantly had to flag her down. It was a horrible first and last impression.
