Wonderful setting, great food! Service was stellar. It's so nice to be able to take my dog and sit out on the patio. We had a great time and look forward to our next visit. What really stood out to me was the kindness and warmth of the staff. Thanks!
The interior rooms were under low-light conditions. On better weather, the patio would be a better choice for Instagram posts. Because one would definitely have the interest to take pictures when the plates are brought to the table.
Went for Seattle restaurant week since this spot is usually out of my budget! Was crazy to see a once-dive bar turned into fine dining. They nailed the vibe in here. Dark and moody but still really elegant. We were greeted quickly by our server which was lovely. They were able to make me an espresso martini that was decaf! When the drink came out, I double checked that it was decaf and the woman (not our server) wasn't 100% sure so said our table could keep that one and that she would make us a new one. So kind! I got the devilled eggs to start. Really good, but definitely a sharing dish. The cod was good, but not sure I would pay full menu price for it as I did not find it to be very flavorful. The flourless chocolate cake had a rather small portion, btu was fantastic! Service and ambiance were top notch.
Here to write an updated review. We visited on a Friday evening and it was super busy. We didn't have any reservation and waited for an about 25 minutes before we were seated, and even after we were seated the service was extremely slow...clearly they were understaffed in the kitchen. The food was good as usual though and so were all the cocktails we ordered but yeah the service was so slow, and our kiddos got really hungry. I think the manager did well when we brought our concerns to him and kindly waived the kids' meals. Love the ambiance of this restaurant both indoors and on the patio. It's a cute vibe! Lots of gluten free options yay
Stopped in for Seattle restaurant week. They were pretty busy during this time but our service was still good. It did take a bit to get food and drinks out. We had three of us that got steaks and ordered them all cooked differently and they all came out cooked the same. For four ounces wasn't worth sending it back but we didn't see any difference between the rare, medium rare, and medium steak. The food and drinks were great otherwise. It's a bummer to be charged 3% to use a credit card. I know things are expensive these days but all over it says prefer cash next to this. At this price point, I don't think many people have that much cash on them. I'd expect this at somewhere cheaper.
What a beautiful night and beautiful evening. This place is in the heart of Jaunita. It used to be a fun sports bar with pools tabs, darts and fun drinks. They have since closed that restaurant and opened up Sparrow. The first time I came here I wasn't impressed. They had only been open a few weeks so it was okay, nothing to write home about. The second time I came I was very impressed. It was a nice night so we got to sit outside on the patio. We enjoyed a bottle of rose and I ordered the shrimp arugula salad which was amazing and a side of sweet potato fries. My friend got the spaghetti squash pasta which was also a fan favorite. For desert we split the bread pudding. Not enough words to describe. I will definitely come back to this place.

My co worker had the ribeye and it was amazing. The burrata I had was a little dry, I wouldn't order it again. Our service was good and drinks were tasty. Loved the fresh oysters.
I had my mom's birthday brunch here and it was fantastic. Ivan was our server and he did a wonderful job checking on us and providing a special experience for my mom and our group. I ordered the avocado toast with crab added and it was so flavorful. Well-portioned too. I also ordered a vanilla latte, which was way too sweet for my taste, but was still drinkable. The lighting is very dim, which made for a very cozy atmosphere. I will definitely be back!

I came here twice recently - once for breakfast and once for dinner - and really enjoyed myself! The first time I came was for brunch. Unable to find parking and unaware that the next door lot was a viable choice I was about to give up and drive home. I left a voicemail explaining the parking situation and received a text message letting me know that the next door lot was available to park in. What they didn't know was the next door lot was doing hot tar work so the main entrance was a no-go. We found alternative parking and made it work. Our waitress, Tina, was amazing. She was personable, made great suggestions, and was very prompt without ever making us feel rushed. When Tina was too busy other staff members would periodically stop by to ensure we were taken care of. I ordered the crab avocado toast and it was amazing! The poached egg with the crab was so tasty! My party of three divided a bread pudding and it was everything I wanted in a bread pudding. It was warm, just sweet enough, soft but not too soft, and delicious! The second time I went I sat in their enclosed patio. It was warmer there then it was inside. Overall restaurant ambiance was stellar in both locations but will fully admit couldn't get the unprompted story of discovered dead wildlife on the patio out of my head that the host told me while I waited for my friend. The host was a very nice young man, very enthusiastic, energetic, and a titch too open book. Our server was great and there was many, many other waitstaff that checked on us. It was almost too much and felt like a direction was given ("check on the patio table") and then no coordination. At one point three different people came out to ask if we needed anything like they were going through a revolving door. The door was barely shut before the next came over. I ordered the sliders and fries. This was another point the oversharing host made me pause as he informed of all the delicious food that had been previously on the dinner menu that was no longer an option. Told me how much I missed out and it sounded like I did! The sliders were very good - juicy meat, perfect meat to bun ratio, and cooked perfectly! The fries weren't a hit. Wasn't very garlicky, the cheese minimum, and flavor bland. The drinks were amazing. The False Autumn is a nice sipping drink, very smooth, more tart than sweet. The Juanita Rita was incredible! I can see why it is so popular; tasty, balanced, smooth, a little zing, not sweet. I really enjoyed my time here. read more

We had the Raspberry Fields Forever and a Pretty money to start with avocado burrata. The drinks were good, although a little sweet (I just like a more tart cocktail) and the burrata delicious! We had the rigatoni and the pork chop as entrees with a Passarella and a Brand and Brine. Both delicious with food, the Passerella being still a LITTLE sweet but again, personal preference. The food was very good, quite well seasoned. Pasta delicious and pork chop very well cooked and the mustard apple sauce delicious. Would get again! read more

We went to Sparrow for a birthday celebration during Seattle Restaurant Week. We were blown away by the food, service and ambiance of Sparrow. The decor was chic and there were so many photo opps for our large group of ladies. The server added a candle to our dessert as an added sweet bonus! While it's on the pricier side, the quality of food justified it as did the presentation! The only other note is that parking was tricky. There are very few spots near the restaurant. Many of us had to park in the street a few blocks away. read more

Excellent dining experience from start to finish!!! Sparrow has a nice atmosphere, yielded exceptional customer service, menu options, and most importantly quality/taste of food. The Sparrow team and management were extremely intentional about ensuring we were well taken care of and enjoying our dinner. The menu was filled with seasonal options for all dietary preferences. Our selections were extremely fresh, aesthetically pleasing, and taste wonderful! I greatly appreciate the early dinner reservation time slots, having 2 toddlers who have early bedtimes enjoying dinner on a Friday as a family can be a struggle. We will definitely return and highly recommend!!! read more
I came here with my husband last week for Seattle Restaurant Week for a table for 2. We did make reservations and noticed that when we left, the restaurant was packed. Parking lot is also small (for the restaurant size) so you'll probably have to parallel on the street. We sat indoors but the patio in the back looks cute. We each got the $65 pp 3-course meal. I thought the appetizers were the best part of the meal. The burrata and avocado was fresh and steak tartare was good. A bit heavy on the mustard. The main entrees were probably the weakest part of the meal. I thought my polenta on the scallops and pork belly was dry and there was no sauce for the plate. My husband's pork was dry as well and overcooked. The mashed potatoes were good though. Dessert was also decent. The donuts were the star! We also got two cocktails at the beginning and I thought they were both too sweet... Might just stick to beer and wine next time. The dishes were all a healthy portion size. We certainly weren't hungry afterwards. Service was decent and prompt. It felt like a well-oiled machine ready for SRW visitors and we were in and out in 90 mins exactly. I think the regular menu is probably quite expensive normally so I won't come back for dinner... But might try brunch next! read more

Spontaneous date night led us here... our neighborhood restaurant. Had the scallops and pork belly, the grilled swordfish and the eggplant parmigiana. All delicious and beautifully presented. Split the banana bread pudding to round out the meal. Our server, Jaden, was pleasant and attentive. read more
We ate outside and had an overall great experience and I would return! The ambiance is nice with the lights and music. Chairs are comfortable and I noticed a family borrow some blankets but I didn't see where they were available for everyone. The service was friendly and very fast at 6pm. The truffle fries and burrata were great. We enjoyed the flavor of the chicken tacos although I thought the chicken was a little dry. The sorbet made in house was enjoyed at our table too. Room for improvement to 5 star status--I appreciate a carafe of water at the table for refilling but a 5 star place will also refill your glass as they see it needing refilled. Otherwise, the servers were quick and quick to remove dirty dishes, which I appreciate! Indoor seating is really cozy and nice looking, especially the booths. Bathrooms are nicely done too. read more

**Since this post, the Sparrow team reached out directly with a gracious "thank you" and a gracious invite back. This confirms the service getting a 5 star rating. I'll definitely go back, hopefully with the family so we can try more offerings. (The carbonara is on my list to try.) Will update this review afterwards. Nicely remodeled gathering place, perfect for a date, family night or girls night out. Pros: variety of American fare options catering to most likings, something for everyone with a few surprises! -Full bar -Beautiful cozy outdoor patio Family dining options -Excellent service and staff- 5 stars (thanks for taking care of us, Jasmine!) -Centrally located in Juanita - hubs loved the sliders (3) and aioli! - mussels and sausage - light with a tasty broth and perfect for dipping bread. Would love to have more bread please! Cons -Parking is tight -Offerings are good but didn't blow me away -Food was a solid 3 -Burrata and avocado- tasty and fresh, nothing you can't make at home. -Spicy ahi tartare- not spicy and tasted bland. I love all things ahi so I was really looking forward to this dish. Unfortunately, while the ahi was fresh, the flavors were bland and paired with fresh avocado seemed to make it even more bland. This has potential. With more flavor, this dish could be a game changer . Overall, it was fun to try a new place on our anniversary. There are other local places who make celebrating an anniversary special and I didn't realize how much I'd miss the special touches. Was strange to indicate on our reservation that it was our anniversary, but nothing was acknowledged during our visit. I was lucky enough to get to talk to Gem, the manager about our experience. It was a great conversation and I enjoyed learning about their philosophy and standards of serving fresh, never frozen food. I gave him the above reviews of the food and he was incredibly gracious and open to feedback. He seemed to care about my opinion and was very personable. I really liked this. The service was 5 stars. Food: i visited for brunch. Their freshly squeezed orange juice was refreshing! I took their veggie eggs Benedict and request to add additional veggies and my friend got an omlet. Their side of potatoes was spot on, the portion size is perfect - not too much that you'll just fill up on potatoes. Overall it was great food and I can't wait to come back and try out more options! Ambiance: I've been here for dinner before, but this time I went here for brunch and got an opportunity to sit outdoors and it was AWESOME! The place feels cozy and a perfect brunch spot specially now that it's getting cool Service: 5 star service! read more

I went here for dinner with my friend, and, all in all, we really liked it. The burrata avocado was amazing, so fresh and light, highly recommend. The Mac and cheese was flavorful, with a great texture. One of the best restaurant Mac and cheeses I've had. The Caesar salad was nice, not as good as the prior two, but still good. The quesabirria was decent, but the sauce was over the top salty, and I've had others I liked better. The doughnut holes and flourless chocolate cake were both delicious. Everything tasted really fresh! The parking is complete crap, both the parking lot and overflow lot are pencil thin and laid out in an idiotic manner. And the service wasn't the best, we had to continually stand up to flag down our waiter, it wasn't even crowded. All in all, a great new addition to Kirkland. I liked the food much more than bottle & bull. Will definitely come back. read more

I am stoked to have a new dinner spot in Kirkland / Juanita! Replacing an old dive bar, Sparrow has a cool vibe and solid space. The high top tables are comfortable and bar is nice. The AC was struggling last night with the heat - it was at least 80 and eating while sweating isn't the best... but this week is rare! Our server Jordan was amazing - very personable and helpful for our group of 6. Cocktails were very good! The food was good, but not amazing - resulting in the 4 star review vs 5... my wife had the chop salad and I had the Carbonara - nicely prepared, but just lacked flavor. I had to request salt and Parmesan to add... some items seemed overly expensive (burger at $23), but pastas were in line with most places. I am looking forward to a return visit in a cooler day and trying some other dishes! read more

Came here for brunch last weekend, and was not disappointed. Our drinks came very quickly, my espresso martini was delicious and my friend's Bloody Mary was perfect. We sat outside since the sun was out and enjoyed their family and dog friendly patio. Our waiter was really kind and informative (he was patient with our indecisiveness lol) and he recommended his favorites. We went with the crab avocado toast, chilaquiles, biscuits and gravy, and chicken and waffles. Also not pictured is the banana pancakes which were to die for! My personal fave was the crab avocado toast, but everything was on point and every bite was amazing. We will be back for weekend brunch! read more
I thought the waitress while probably overloaded -- and therefore unable to be attentive-- was super friendly and helpful in menu selection. The lighting is what you'd expect for "fine dining" in Kirkland. The quality of the food was okay but pretty pricey for the portion/quality. Wouldn't return. read more

Standard non-descript new American. We dined here on a Sunday night. The drinks were above average, and the appetizers were tasty. Unfortunately beyond that you're left with a choice between overpriced entrees, or salads and pasta. The service we received was a bit rough around the edges- our waitress couldn't quite figure out whether she was checking on us too much or not enough. She also asked about dessert, asked if we were ready for the check, and brought the check before my wife could finish her food. We sat around and finished our drinks and eventually headed out. In general, Sparrow seems caught between upscale and tavern and should pick one and stick with it. read more

Our drinks came after our meal came out, ok it happens. I believe they are understaffed. Location is great, facility was cute .. outside backyard patio was nice. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich. It was bland, the bun soggy, and zero spice. The first time I've ever sent food back. The veg eggs Benedict was good. They were out of pancake batter but had waffles? Weird. Idk if I'll be back cuz I don't know what I'd order. I saw the avo crab toast and it should be called a crostini. The staff was accomadate by when I sent the food back.but overall... eh Three stars for nice servers and a good drink. I'm a sucker for Amrut. The Silk Road to recovery was amazing. read more

Like some of the other reviewers I was looking forward to experiencing Sparrow. I read the mixed reviews, but still wanted to check it out for myself. I'll summarize the food was a 2, the value a 2, the service a 3. Here is how I derived at my rating: Food: my brunch mate and I had Eggs Benedict and the Sparrow Chilaquiles. I'll start with the Eggs Benedict- I've never had to pay extra for Canadian Bacon. As to evaluate it in comparison to other eggs Benedict, I ordered and paid the extra charge. Very disappointing to receive ham. The Chilaquiles were bland, lacking the enchilada sauce (which you can plainly see in the picture), and guacamole was just ok. Value: for the money and in my opinion unnecessary add-ons for each item, I do not see the price being represented in the quality of ingredients or in portion size. Service: our brunch server was nice enough and did his best, but shared he typically works dinner service vs brunch. It was busy and it took longer than expected to get mimosas as they have a nice brunch cocktail menu and the simple drinks stacked up while the bartenders who were working hard to keep up did their best. With so many great options, I'm not sure I'll be back to give dinner a try. read more
*sigh* I've been to Sparrow twice hoping that my second time would render a higher rating - and I just can't. Trust me, I really wanted to love it. The best part of Sparrow is not the food, it's the interior design. Such a cool vibe, hands down. Unfortunately, the food is a resounding "meh". It's almost as if Sparrow is trying a little too hard to be trendy while overlooking their mediocre/average food. The food wasn't terrible, but it certainly wasn't worth the insane prices and tiny portions. Service was SUPER slow. It took over 15 minutes to receive a mimosa and a cappuccino. (I ordered a cappuccino and they brought a latte after waiting 15 minutes. When I noted the error, they brought what they said was a cappuccino, but it was the exact same as the latte. Eventually I just gave up and kept it.) I had the biscuits and gravy which were alright. The gravy was good, the biscuits were super small and honestly, Pillsbury could've done better. My friend really loved her breakfast burrito, so there's my mandatory positive. I'd go to Sparrow again if my only other choice was IHOP, but other than that, it's a "No" for me, dawg. read more

We'll go back, the food was unique and the ambiance was great - - formalish/modern/antiqued/comfy all at once. On presentation alone I'd go five stars but the flavors underwhelmed on a few dishes (no subs made on those dishes). Sine looooved the sliders, better than many and he gets sliders everywhere. Other son said the pork belly and scallops were good, but we all felt the polenta was too bland and unflavored for the dish. Maybe we just don't like polenta but it felt a little salt or simple garlic and light spice could have complimented the proteins. The chicken sandwich tasted good but was extremely thin so the bun overpowered each bite. Also it said spicy but was more 'spiced' than spicy (heavy salt and maybe a white pepper, like you'd get in an Asian restaurant) where I was hoping for true spicy. We got two desserts, and while the banana bread pudding was quite solid and dry and lightly flavored, the flourless chocolate tort was very rich and smooth and refreshing. It was a great meal ender with the fresh fruits too. Service was good. Attentive staff for water and ordering and such. They made one mistake (not putting whole anchovies on the salad after they confirmed we could and we asked for them, then when we asked where they were it was treated like the first time we brought it up. Very minor but I wanna gripe to someone so hi Yelp! ) As I said, I'll go back but we'll probably try mostly different dishes. You should try it out. read more

What a weird dining experience. The highlights were: - mussels & sausage appetizer - our server was very friendly and did a good job Everything else: - $50 pork belly and scallops was the worst "high end" plate food I've ever received in my life. Just look at the photo; pork belly was dry and hard, scallops had zero sear and flavor, the jelly/sauce was cold. It looked and tasted like when your child wants to cook a nice meal for their parents for the first time. If this was $30 it would be severely overpriced. At $40, egregious. At $50, an absolute travesty. After looking at old photos of the same dish on Sparrow's yelp, it is pathetic what I was served. - Guac: $16 and the purple chips were stale. Yellow chips were okay. read more

Servers were nice, cool upscale little spot and the brunch was delicious. Ordered the spicy fried chicken, salmon puff pastry, brunch board, and French toast. I was so excited for Sparrow. We made a reservation for four people two days before we actually went through OpenTable. We requested and confirmed a reservation for the bar, and despite showing up on time, we were told we wouldn't be able to sit at the bar, so we were seated outside. It was comfortable and nice, but it wasn't our first choice. The menu looked great, but we felt the cocktail menu was lacking. I ordered the Juan-rita (margarita basically) and it was just okay. I loved the dried lime that came with the drink, but this was on the sweeter side. It wasn't for me. The food was amazing. I got to try a bite of everyone's food at my table and it was lovely. I ordered the Caesar salad with grilled chicken. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, and I loved my salad. With that being said, my table was in agreement that we felt that our serving sizes were too small. Sparrow was beautiful on the interior, and we loved the food. We won't be coming back though because: a) They could have had more cocktail options, and the ones we had were just okay. b) The serving sizes were too small for the prices we paid (although the flavors were solid) c) We made a reservation which we confirmed and were still seated somewhere else. While I had a nice time with my loved ones, I didn't love Sparrow and I felt that we overpaid. read more
Had seen a lot of Seattle food influencers post about Sparrow and I thought it was about time I tried them too. Made a reservation online and it was super easy quick with plenty of indoor/outdoor seating options. We were promptly seated once we got there. You cannot NOT notice the ambience of this place which perfectly classifies this as a great date night spot or a fun place to hang out with friends too. We ordered the following food items: 1. Lamb Quesa-Birria: Slow braised lamb, cheese, house-made tortillas, cilantro, onions, served with house-made lamb au jus. A MUST have. My fav dish for the night. 2. Truffle Fries: Fresh cut skinny fries served w/ house-made garlic mustard aioli. Good snacky fries a little too greasy but the aioli was tasty. 3. Capellini Carbonara: Bacon, garlic, onions, zucchini, capellini noodles, egg yolk & parmesan. One of the best carbonara I have ever tasted. 4. Sausage Rigatoni: Flavorful Italian sausage, shaved garlic, parmesan cheese in a light garlic cream sauce. Unlike any other I have had. Loved the sauce but the quantity seemed less as compared to the other pasta dishes here. The sausage was delicious. This was my second fav dish for the night. 5. Penne Pasta with shrimp: Organic asparagus, shaved garlic, green peas, cherry tomatoes, basil sautéed with cream and parmesan. Nothing wow worthy but it was a good pasta dish. 6. Banana Bread Pudding: This was an amazing dessert. Trust me, we were full after stuffing ourselves with the above dishes but decided to share a dessert and we did not regret it. Banana flavor was very mild but it was a great bread pudding and the vanilla gelato perfectly complimented the bread pudding. Highly recommend saving some space for dessert here. Note that all their pasta is house made and was perfectly al dente. For drinks we ordered the following: 1. Espresso Martini: They ran out of their Fall-tini (bummer) so I settled in for their Espresso Martini. It was delicious and perfectly sweet for some one like me who does not have a sweet tooth. 2. Juanita Rita: Perfect blend of tequila and spiced rum with mild notes of elderflower. A great cocktail. 3. Cucumber Basil Gimblet: Vodka based refreshing cocktail with lime, simple syrup and cucumber. This was delicious. 4. House Negroni: Negroni was good but the other cocktails stole the show for us. Service was great and staff was friendly and polite. They did check in on us from time to time to make sure we were doing okay. Ample parking in front of the restaurant but on a busy weekend you may have to park else where. A great spot with good food in Kirkland. read more

Sparrow has been on my list of places to try for awhile. My partner lives right down the street so it's nice to have a hip restaurant within walking distance. We came here for brunch on a Sunday morning and were seated right away in the bar area. Our server was friendly, personable, and was very attentive. No complaints with service. The interior was also a highlight - great use of live plants on the walls and trendy decor. Unfortunately, I found the food to be okay. I had the eggs benedict with crab ($26) and my partner had the breakfast burrito (~$16). For the price, portions were small and the dishes were pretty standard. Nothing special. The brunch menu was also limited. People have been raving about Sparrow all over social media so I had really high hopes for this place. I left disappointed. BUT! I plan to give it another chance for happy hour and dinner. read more
