    Filet and lobster croquette

I'm giving this five stars because they really went above and beyond in terms of our requests. My friend was visiting in town and really wanted the truffle Mac and cheese at Embers. We weren't able to get a reservation so we went to Spark. We sat at the bar and it was a SLOW start. It was a couple of minutes before we were greeted. It was a Saturday a little after 6 pm. It wasn't busy at Spark but I presume their service tickets were heavy. The bartender accommodated the Mac and cheese request which was awesome. We both ordered steaks and they were delicious. So was the Mac and cheese. We got a dessert to go and haven't eaten it yet but it looks delicious.

I had dinner at Spark last night; sat at the bar. The atmosphere was fun, people at the bar were friendly and all talking to each other. The bartender was great! I was there alone but felt completely comfortable. The steak was so good and perfectly cooked. Loved the prosciutto cheddar cheese grits, but the spinach was not that great. Had great wine and a yummy expresso martini (on the house because they made an extra or something . I definitely recommend Spark!

Fun night out with friends! Great service (but as it got busier service declined) our waiter good the lack of staffing is not his fault. Food was excellent but it took some time to come out. Nice place to come to after a days work. Cool vibe! We will be back.

    Filet Mignon with asparagus

TLDR: Get there at a decent time to grab a seat. Get the ribeye. I don't know why I haven't been sooner! We were both in the mood for steak so we decided it was finally time to give Embers a try but found they were pretty booked up, so we walked over to Spark instead and got a corner booth. The space is kind of small but it has a bar that can seat about 10 people (not socially distanced) and about 8 tables. I had a few libations -- good flavors and pretty stiff. Food: I got a medium rare ribeye with rosemary fries and hubs got the filet mignon with asparagus. I LOVED the ribeye. It came with a velvety cheese sauce and sautéed onions and peppers and tasted like a fancy deconstructed Philly cheesesteak. If you're into that you'd love this. The fries were divine. Hubs really enjoyed his filet and actually ate the asparagus which is saying a lot. I didn't try much of his dish so I can't really give many details on it. I feel like we ate dessert but honestly I was so hung up on the ribeye that I can't even remember anything after that lol. It was that delicious.

Spark is the gastrobar attached to embers steakhouse, and it might just be better than the steakhouse itself. Definitely one of the best values for a gourmet meal you can find. Where else can you get a filet with truffle butter for $30? I had to order that! And it accompanied by their signature lobster croquette, which is deep fried mashed potatoes with lobster, what more could you want? The service is excellent and they have some creative drink options. Make sure you get here early because it's all open seating and fills up fast

Lovely Wednesday night with friends! Not too crowded before 7 pm. Excellent service. Had the filet mignon and it was perfect!

I thought my waiter was attentive and I received my appetizer and entree very quickly. He also made sure to check up on me. The food was delicious. I ordered the beef tartare, lobster mac and cheese, and the burger. I was very pleased that I received a whole lobster tail and not something diced & mixed in with mt mac and cheese. The burger was probably the best one I have had. Will definitely come back

Orange drink- liqueur with gin I think?

Me and my boyfriend came here for a night out, and got the last table they had inside (first come first serve basis). I was a little skeptical based on the reviews on here, but the food was really good! For appetizers, we got beef tartare, crab bisque and duck wings. The beef tartare and duck wings were delicious. I've never had duck wings before, but the glaze on them was sweet and tangy and made them taste so good paired with their crispiness. I would definitely recommend either of these dishes to share! The crab bisque we decided to get because the waiter said it was rated best soup in Gainesville, but unfortunately it did not live up to the hype. It wasn't bad, but I would not be ordering it again. For main course, we split the shrimp and sirloin skewers with grits. The shrimp and steak were very well cooked and seasoned to perfection. The grits tasted delicious, they were just slightly rich for my liking. I would recommend this dish, but be warned that the grits are a little intense. The cocktail I got might have been one of the best cocktails I have had recently, I don't remember the exact name but it has orange liqueur/ ingredients in it and I believe gin. Would definitely recommend this or any of their cocktails! After this meal, I want to visit Embers!!

    Best cucumber martini in town!

Cucumber Martinis were great. Everything else not so much. The charcuterie board was chunks of meat and burnt bread. The escargot was a muddled mess. The desserts, lemon layer cake and chocolate torte, were good, but not great. I'll be back but for drinks only!

Everyone just seems so happy here so you can tell that it really enjoy their jobs which makes a huge difference. We started off with the coconut shrimp and had like this coconut mayo dipping sauce was different, but it was really good, but I felt like it needed like a sweet-and-sour sauce then I had the mahi tacos with just the rice no black beans definitely still as good as the last time I tried it my boyfriend got the buffalo chicken pizza gluten-free and he ate the entire thing so that just tells you right off the bat that it was good and to finish off our dinners we ended with Keylime pie. It wasn't the best it was OK. I don't think I would have it again, though the ambience, excellent this place is adorable. It's like a diamond in the rough. No one really knows it's here but anytime ever and someone says they're going to Daytona. I always recommend this place. Go here! You will never be disappointed trust me!

I want to preface this by saying we went on a very cold day and ate indoors..the pizza was outstanding and the waiter was friendly and engaging..in other words, typical for our experiences there. Prior to this, we even brought friends who hadn't been there before and loved it...now, to our recent experience: We were seated and the waitress seemed as though she wasn't very familiar with the menu and had to check on our requests, each check took a disturbingly long time. When we brought our friends, my gal ordered a hamburger and I asked the waitress if she could have the wagyu, rather than the angus burger, she readily said yes and my gal marveled over the burger...fast forward to the last experience, the waitress said she'd have to order the wagyu as posted and it "wasn't available" as a stand alone order. So my gal settled for the angus burger and again, the wait was a bit long and as we were considering to leave, the waitress showed up, gave us our food and left. the onion rings were cold...literally...they had been out so long that they weren't even warm (our prior experiences the onion rings arrived hot and delicious). Again we waited for our waitress to return and my gal had to ask another waitress if she could get us some hot onion rings. That waitress noted the cold onion rings and brought them back to the kitchen to prove we weren't being unreasonable, which was a greatly appreciated gesture on her part. Very promptly, the "other" waitress brought our onion rings, apologizing profusely...we thanked her and when my gal started into her Caesar salad, it was inedible....soggy, nearly tasteless and resembling a hot spinach salad with soggy lettuce than a crisp Caesar salad....the upside, the second batch of onion rings were up to their usual excellent standard, the burger was good, but not the intensity of flavor their wagyu burger had. If we hadn't been semi-regulars, it is a near certainty we wouldn't go back, but we aren't going to let a single experience unravel years of good experiences.

I was with my in-laws, and we were looking for a place to eat dinner in downtown while waiting for some other family to join us. It seems like on Mondays, there is not a ton open in the downtown Ocala area in terms of restaurants. This makes sense, but we chose to eat here primarily because it was open on a Monday, along with recommendations from those I was with. They had eaten here before, but it was my first time. The restaurant is located on a corner in downtown Ocala, near the square. Since it is in the city, there is no dedicated parking beyond what you find on the street. However, I have never had an issue finding parking in the general area when visiting this part of town, so unless it is a crowded evening or special event, you should have no issues. When we arrived, it was still early in the evening and we had no issue getting a table. As the night progressed, more people started coming in for their Bachelor viewing party. It seems like this draws a big crowd. They even announced that they were doing giveaways and other fun activities for the series season finale the following week. I imagine they hold other types of events as well, so that might be something to look out for if you are planning on stopping. We sat at a table near the front, and waited a couple minutes for the server to come by. She was, honestly, somewhat aggressive and not very kind. I tried to order a beer on the menu, and she went to make sure it wasn't out of stock. Then, I asked her about the Monday special on the menu, and she acted like she never even heard of it before. She stated that she didn't normally work on Mondays, but the manner in which this was communicated made it feel like it was my fault for inquiring about this. I ended up having a Garage Beer on tap, and it was serviceable. I also wanted to order the advertised $10 Grilled Cheese and Fries special, and got the D-Nice Way Grilled Cheese with this. I actually very much enjoyed the grilled cheese, but the fries were the star of the plate. They were crispy and crunchy, but not very thin. I had never had a fry quite like that! Would highly recommend giving them a try here at least once. Our food came out in a reasonable timeframe after we ordered. It was not too quick, but did not take forever, either. Besides what I mentioned previously, I was satisfied with the other service received. I thought the prices here, in general, were fair and on par with other restaurants that are similar. They run different specials during different days of the week, as outlined on the menu. For example, Monday is supposed to be $10 Grilled Cheese and Fries. I ordered this, but I am not confident I got it for this price. Someone I was with paid the bill, but the waitress did not seem to be aware of what this special actually was. So, if you are wanting to order a special, I would explicitly say that when ordering to be sure you get it. Overall, I enjoyed the vibes and the food at this place. It seems like they have activities several nights a week to bring in different crowds, along with specials on food and drinks. The service left a lot to be desired, as our waitress was not very friendly nor knowledgeable on the specials. I would be willing to give this another try, but hopefully with a different waitress.

This review is specifically about their brunch prix fixe menu and bottomless mimosas. But the whole vibe of this place is giving Spanish tapas style dining. The brunch prix fixe menu comes with 3 courses and is absolutely worth the $32! I was so full by the end of it. And had food to take home too. The smoked salmon montaditos were my fav, but the Benedict and flan de coco definitely deserve honorable mentions. And then to top it off the bottomless mimosas and sangrias are only $23/person (one mimosa is like $12 so it's super worth it). At first the mimosas were rolling out kind of slowly, but then our server picked up the vibe that we were here to DRINK so he kept serving up the mimosas and sangrias at our pace :) I love that you can alternate between mimosas and sangrias instead of just sticking to one or the other.
