Thank you Spaggi's for the delicious NYE dinner! Someone had said that inside the restaurant was reserved for reservations only and that walk ins would be outside in the patio, but when we came in and said we don't have a reservation, we were seated inside at a table within 10 minutes. Thank you guys for keeping us out of the cold I ordered the penne dalle vigne difilippe and my mom ordered the lasagna. The penne was delicious and creamy, but the sauce seemed a little runny in my opinion. I was going to ask for more Parmesan cheese so I can thicken the sauce, but I finished my plate before anybody came to check up on us. I also got a tasty mango martini which was so smooth and delicious as well. Service was excellent and the waitresses and waiters were very attentive to our table as well as all the others. read more

I hate the term "hidden gem". I react to that in the same way as one scraping their fingernails on a blackboard. So this will have to be my "obscure, inconspicuous little rarity". This dark, candle lit restaurant is a small, tasteful, slow dining experience. A real pleasure. It hardly jumps out at you if you were to drive by, could probably do far better in another location, so this is why I must Yelp it. First impressions are always good when there is a basket of homemade, hot savory bread immediately placed on your table. Served with an pinkish olive spread, it was tangy but we preferred real butter. So, ask and ye shall receive! This is one of those places where you order a la carte. The meat entrees include a starch (ours was a delicious but nontraditional presentation of au gratin potato) and vegetables. If you wish a salad, soup, etc, that will be extra. A lovely menu already, there were an abundance of specials of the day, in nearly every category. If I had one complaint, the server recited them from memory. While quite impressed with his memory, I wish they had been written down, as by the time he got to the end, I remembered little. Hint hint hint to the management. We chose to share a salad, Insalata Della Ana, that was a combination of baby greens, raspberries, mango, feta, candied nuts, and a raspberry-ranch dressing. We would have been ecstatic except the chef forgot to put the dressing on the salad (which he had split onto two plates). Ooops. Mr. B was done with his already, but I was still playing with my food, wondering why the dressing seemed so light. Once alerted, our waiter fixed that, for me, but it was too late for Mr. B. The dressing, by the way, was perfection. If the menu says "lamb", then that is Mr. B's order. So predictable. If that describes you too, prepare yourself for Costatella Di Agnello, four beautifully large, perfectly cooked (to a medium rare), prime rib chops with a nicely executed red wine sauce. The rosemary and garlic seasoning were in there, but so richly balanced. An extremely good choice. I went with Petto Di Pollo Al Doro, a chicken breast in a white wine sauce. It was accessorized with one plump shrimp, avocado, and mushrooms galore. The flavors were downright excellent, but the breast was slightly overcooked. My fault for not notifying the waiter, as I know they would have re-made it. Naturally, dessert was on my agenda. Chocolate, bien sur! But, apparently a little bird, or maybe a not so little Filipino, clued them in "we" were celebrating a birthday. Out came a complimentary creme brulee with one lit candle. Gratefully they did not try to match the candles to my number of years. And no obnoxious song, toilet seat cover hat, or helium balloons tied to my ears (yeah, that happened one year, not here). But back to dessert, the creme brulee was probably one of the best I have ever tasted, so perfectly creamy, with speckles of vanilla bean and a light lemony flavor. And a beautiful burnt sugar crust. Perfect, for a non-chocolate dessert, if you know what I mean. So after I licked the dish, I ordered the chocolate torte with raspberry sauce to-go. Ha! Coffee, a must with dessert, was strong. And that is probably why I am staying up late tonight completing this review. Now I really like feisty coffee, but this one took the whole pitcher of cream and two packets of sugar to lighten it up. Just warning you. To the staff at Spaggi's, they do a great job. While Ronal was our excellent server, he was supported by several others. I applaud their smooth, almost invisible service. Someone would even come by and refold his napkin when Mr. B made a pit stop. C'est manifique! A romantic evening, lovely service, beautiful food. Yum! Love the ambiance and Italian feel when we walked in the place. Love the paintings! Made us remember the time we went went to Italy, which we loved!! We are vegetarian so we notified the server and he was happy to show us what we could order on the menu and also mentioned that they can modify just about anything, which is always great to hear! Complimentary bread was nice and warm and always ask for Olive Oil and Balsamic, I wasn't a fan of the Olive dipping sauce, was a bit too salty, and especially since I'm personally not a fan of olives overall, just me. (5 stars) Linguine pesto pomodoro - Loved this! Their pesto was soo fresh and the flavor of the linguine was delicious! Must try this dish! (4 stars) Penne dalle vigne di filippi - pretty good, we liked the veggies and flavor. We may want to ask for a different sauce next time, maybe a pink sauce or pesto sauce might make it great. (5 stars) Chocolate soufflé - delicious! Love how there's a chocolate sauce pourer so you can add more to the dish. I even ate a few spoons directly from there, I love chocolate! Chef came by and spoke to us to see how everything was going. He went to every table, which gives this place a nice personal touch. Will definitely we back soon! read more

Yesterday, in order to improve our sanity, we ordered curbside pickup froM Chef Henry. Not only was everything fabulous and no more expensive than the chain restaurants but Chef Henry himself came out to put the food in our trunk. What a blessed afternoon for us. Came here with no reservation on a Saturday night. We were seated immediately in the main dining area. We were greeted very soon after and brought water and bread. We ordered the Wagyu ravioli and corn chowder. Both were incredible, you could tell the quality of products and layers of flavors. With dinner we had a pink moscato which came in it's own personal size bottle. We ordered lobster ravioli and shrimp scampi as our main course. Both were presented beautifully and had wonderfully made sauce. For dessert we had an apple tart and chocolate mousse cake. The apple tart came topped with a delicious salted caramel ice cream, but we still preferred the chocolate cake. Both our waiters and the restaurant manager visited our table multiple times. This is our favorite restaurant for a quality dining experience. We miss the Golden Spur in Glendora and the Magic Lamp has fallen in quality. We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary last night in style. I ordered their salmon with their Anna salad which features a raspberry vinaigrette, fresh raspberries, big chunks of mango, and candied pecans. DELICIOUS!!! My husband ordered their Lasagne with a side if steamed veggies, he kept going on about how spectacular it was. Their portions are so generous we have leftovers for tonight THANK YOU, Chef Henry, for helping make our evening special during these challenging times! We'll be back!!! read more

Definitely recommend this restaurant! It's a little deceiving because the restaurant is located in a little strip mall next to a gas station. From the outside, it's doesn't look very appealing but once you walk in, you will be pleasantly surprised. The inside is like a fancy restaurant in Italy- cloth table covers, candles, wine glasses etc. We needed a location for a wedding rehearsal dinner. Spagghi's has a private room that accommodated our party of 30. When we called to make the reservation, they were very accommodating and easy to work with. When we arrived at the restaurant, they were ready for us! Our server, Cameron, was terrific! He and the staff were very attentive and professional. The food was amazing! We had four menu choices- Spaghetti Bolognese, Pesto pasta, Shrimp Scampi or Chicken Marsala. Everyone in our party stated that their meal was delicious. To begin this review, I would like to take you on the journey of my art appreciation class. Imagine being taught to recognize art in all its forms, with each piece having a deeper meaning, meant to be studied and analyzed. Well, I'm pleased to say I could use these newfound skills while eating my dish at this fine establishment. It's evident that here the standard is not just the best, but also to innovate and use creativity to become even better. The bread was this perfect infusion of the soft doughy-ness associated with the best breads and olives, a combination I never would have considered. And then, to create a spread, also taking advantage of the advanced flavors of the olive? What a work of genius to create such a combination. Even the subtle additions to the most simple things like a house salad lead to a pleasant surprise and the confusion of how something like this had never been thought of before. Onto my main course, the streak. To put things simply, it was the kind of steak that makes you want to go into the kitchen, and congratulate the chef on the art he has just created. Never before have I ever felt so passionate about a meal, but the whole experience has put me in quite the gracious mood. The last thing I'd like to mention about this experience is the tremendous service. While Jessica was our server and she did the most fantastic job, even entertaining my little brother, the wait staff as a whole works as a well oiled machine to ensure that every customer's needs are met. This is the kind of team chemistry most sports teams strive for. Most of the time I give restaurants a five for doing the best I could've expected, and doing nothing unforgivably wrong. I think this system is fair because it doesn't discredit restaurants for not having that special "X factor" that this restaurant has. It's like judging art, you can't blame an artist for not being Picasso. If everyone was Picasso, then no one would be. But, in this instance, I'd have to say that Spaggi's is the only restaurant that I've ever dined at that has truly deserved five stars for not only doing everything right to no fault, but for daring to be more. read more

Absolutely, ottimo cibo (great food). Spaggi located in a small shopping center in Upland. They have plenty of parking which would not pose as a problem with a large crowd. I recommend calling in advance for your table if you're a large party of four or more. Inside of this authentic Italian restaurant were vintage art framework, a full bar also with a nice selection of wines; suggest trying the Chianti, semi sweet red wine. The food was delicious, well prepared with superb seasoning. There were plenty of food selection to choose from plus they have a off menu selection as well that changes monthly. The dessert was simply amazing I recommend getting the lava chocolate cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for my chocolate lovers. They are a bit pricey but worth the cost for the whole Italian experience. read more

I went here on Thursday evening for a 80th birthday dinner at 5:00pm. I ordered the Shrimp Lemone dinner which came with vegetables and mashed potatoes. I asked if I could substitute pasta, vey spicy, and our server said of course for a small$$$. An hour later, yes an hour later, I get 4 shrimp on pasta with some brown sauce. There was no spice, not even garlic and no vegetables. I ate one piece of shrimp and a few bites of pasta and had it boxed to take it home. It was NOT cheap. I've been to this restaurant many many times prior to Covid and it was always excellent. The service was so slow and like I said I was so disappointed with my dish. I will not be going back there again. I forgot to add, they charged me $6.00 xtra for the pasta! read more

Celebrated a family birthday this evening at Spaggi's. It was our first time there and I was impressed. After driving for 90 minutes in traffic and hungry as a hound, I thought to myself "this better be good." They had an extensive menu so to play it safe I stuck with the lasagna....hey, it's an Italian restaurant so it should be great right? Well it was. Normally I add a sprinkle or three packs of sugar but this lasagna did not need my help at all. The taste was perfection. Loved the ambiance, atmosphere, service and the food was wonderfully delicious. The desserts were equally yummy. The extra treat was the chef came over and greeted our table and just had general, light hearted conversation. Great dining experience and I will be back. read more

Thursday at 5:30pm... first visit to Spaggi's. There seemed to be a large party in the room next door, so I will try to give some credit to the lack of attention from our server because of this. When our meal was brought to the table we had to ask for the glass of wine my wife had ordered at the same time as our meal. When my wife finished the glass of wine we had to ask a young lady to let our server know we would like another glass of wine. My wife had a pasta dish with artichoke hearts and asparagus great flavor but the meal wasn't hot. I had the spaghetti bolognese and though the portion was plentiful it to was warm at best. I have been in restaurant management all my life and was very disappointed with this experience, as it had been really talked up by friends. I do realize all places have an off night, and maybe this was one of those nights. The chef came to the table (owner) and asked about our meals and I couldn't bring myself to share our dissatisfaction. Let's hope it is not a trend of poor service and cold food...... Let me add that it was our anniversary and we were treated to a small dessert that was wonderful! read more

I love this place. Pre-pandemic and pre-children we used to come here frequently because the food was always delicious and the service was always excellent. We went there last night to celebrate my daughter's birthday, and from the moment I stepped my foot in the door, I was instantly reminded of why my husband and I loved coming here. The manager, staff, and even the chef came out to wish my daughter a happy birthday, and the food, as always, was spectacular. The calamari was tender and flavorful, the steaks were cooked to the perfect temperature with a beautiful crust, and the Chilean seabass was delicious. Even their vegetables were also perfectly cooked, which was made evident by my daughter's plate devoid of all her broccoli at the end of dinner. We eat at several places with delicious foods, but restaurants that leave you feeling special are harder to find. And last night, we all left the restaurant with huge grins on our faces, especially our birthday girl. read more

My husband and I have decided that Spaggi's is our new favorite local restaurant. The service is always top notch and the food is exceptional, especially when it's chef Henry who cooks. We recently stopped by for dinner and tried the chef's special; Which was lobster and steak. I have often been skeptical of ordering seafood from a restaurant that is not near the ocean. On this occasion we decided to go for it and the lobster was exceptionally delicious. Hands down the best lobster I have ever tried. I have also used their catering services during Christmas. My friends loved the food and wanted to try their restaurant. The salads, pasta, and wine selection/pairing was excellent. Leave room for their coffee and dessert!
