My…read moreprescription is medium high, and turns out I'm SUPER picky so the experience looking for new glasses became similar to when I searched for a wedding dress -- way too long, eventually hating everything, stressful and the budget went out the window in a desperate attempt to actually find something I liked! The worst part was every store I went to had awful customer service or literally not a single thing I wanted. I was desperate and worried I'd never get new glasses. Eight months into my search I finally found 312. First impression was good - Andrew, the owner, was helping other customers but still greeted us with a "hello", more than I could say for some other stores. The products are way more artistic and beautiful than run of the mill, and he helped identify what I liked and didn't, and was patient with me as I ended up coming in over 5 times to try things on!! Customer service never wavered and he was always honest and up front if something didn't look right or if he thought I'd regret it. Icing on the cake was a trunk sale with all the colours of Andy Wolf glasses, so I could see what they all looked like - that including Prosecco and Lindt chocolate! My glasses were expensive but so were many I looked at that were less impressive. Thanks to Andrew for his patience and he definitely made a lifetime customer out of me! I'd even go there for eye exams because the atmosphere is so welcoming and chill.

Arrived 10 mins earlier than my appointment to fill up a form and for the staff/receptionist perform a preliminary test on my eyes. Dr. Karlin performed a comprehensive eye exam including checking the eyes to detect for diseases like cataracts, glaucoma and recommending preventive care. I had to buy my prescription glasses from another optical shop but had an issue since I opted for a progressive lenses and the reading prescription is somewhat incorrect. So I went back to this store for a vision reassessment and Dr. Karlin accommodated me on the spot for another eye exam without any additional charge. Fast/easy booking, friendly and experienced staff - I will surely come back here for my next eye exam.

I did not buy these here. Jessica helped me within minutes. Both pairs fit me perfectly and I truly did not think it would be possible. What's more is she refused to let me pay which is out of the question because her work was phenomenal and so speedy! I was in and out within five minutes. Ignore the last review from Andrew C. I was there when he came in. I have no idea who he is, but I remember him complaining about his appointment. For starters, yes, if he booked an appointment and it didn't show up on the system, that sucks. He has a right to be upset about that. However, he is exaggerating. First of all, he was half an hour late for his appointment. Second, the woman who served him was very apologetic. Third, she did offer a solution. She tried to slot him in later in the day, and when that didn't work for him, she offered to squeeze him in between appointments in an hour. Not the ideal solution, but I mean come on, he was late for his appointment in the first place, which would've caused delays for others. I, on the other hand, received excellent service. Dr. Melville was great. Very thorough eye exam, great recommendations for glasses and contacts, very understanding about my situation. I will be back and I'll be bringing the rest of my family. read more

After a year of dizziness that was misdiagnosed by my family doctor & months wasted on vestibular rehab I was due to have my eyes checked again and decided to try a different optometrist. I am so glad I did this! Dr. Heeney is a complete breath of fresh air. She listened to me explain the symptoms I was experiencing, asked me questions, & took the time to figure out a resolution. Most medical experiences these days are of the "take your medication and get out" variety, it's nice to see there are still people in the world that remember there is a human element to the process. The basic eye exam is slightly more expensive that most places, but it's completely worth it - don't cheap out. How often do you hear people say: "Visiting my eye doctor was the best part of my day"? Well it was! Dr. Kristin Heeney is professional, cool and so much fun to talk to. Her eye exam was thorough and she gave me honest feedback including that I don't need glasses right now but could get the "over the counter" ones if threading a needle etc. All her equipment is state-of-the-art. Also her office is gorgeous, super-clean and kid-friendly with a beautiful view of the city. 10 out of 10! read more

Currently they have a 2 person maximum in the store/space due to covid, which I liked because it meant it wouldn't be crowded in the small office. While I did wait about 10 minutes past my appointment time to be seen, the exam was efficient and fast and all my concerns were answered with care. They have a large retail space in the front full of beautiful frame options. The staff is always friendly and the store is very convenient for me to get to, located in a plaza with lot's of parking. I've visited the store twice in the past year with damage and/or adjustments required to both of my frames. Today, on my most recent visit, I had a badly twisted arm on my wire frames. Katherine quickly and efficiently assessed the damage, explained the risk in the bending required to fix the arm and with my consent, fixed the damaged arm - free of charge. All of my adjustments and repairs have been free of charge. I now think of Phila first when I'm in need of lenses or repair and in particular, Katherine, who consistently offers excellent customer service. Good quality lenses are expensive - no doubt. The value for me is in the thoughtful aftercare I receive from Phila: Local, knowledgeable, kind & consistent.

Basically if your too young or too old you are not entitled to basic health care and eye exam. This should not be allowed or acceptable by any physician and should be disallowed by the College of Optometrists of Ontario. You refuse to treat a patient you should lose your licence to practice!

Anyhow, they have amazing hours - I was able to go on a Saturday! The experience was great. Their front desk folks are very nice and helpful. She was very thorough and professional - but when she could tell I was curious about what we were doing and why, she was also very happy to explain. Overall, a really wonderful experience.
