I've had a number of Warby Parker glasses over the years and have always had good luck with them. I ordered a couple new pairs online in May and had some trouble with the prescription and fit. I went into the Queen St. West location for help and got really great support from Saayeh, one of WP's registered opticians. I was willing to settle for "close enough," but she was really persistent in helping me work out the prescription issues I was having with my doctor's office and getting the right fit. It took a few weeks to get it all sorted, but I'm grateful she insisted on helping me get it "just right." read more

I was at the Queen St location less than 3 months ago and received such excellent service. I was 8 months pregnant and the employee that assisted me offered to have the glasses shipped to me for my convenience, which I thought was amazing so that I didn't have to waddle my way back to the store to pick up my glasses. Not only was the in-store experience fantastic, just before I had my baby, I received a gift in the mail from the staff "wishing me the best on my new little bundle of joy". What a beautiful gesture! I couldn't help but cry :) With the newborn, I haven't had the chance yet to visit them and thank them in person so I thought I'd start by thanking the team by giving a 5 star review. First time in Warby Parker and thankful it wasn't busy - it was Monday around 1145am. I have walked by this store a few times on the weekend and it's always been packed, so decided to come here on a day off from work. I have been needing prescription sunglasses for a while and have never been able to find a pair that fits just right. A friend suggested I go to Rapp Optical on College, but based on reviews alone, place sounds rather pretentious and not inviting. I have tried Costco, Hakim, various small retailers and have ended up with nothing ... to each their own. I was helped by a young fellow who was rather funny and dressed funky. He welcomed me when I walked in, asked me what I was looking for and left me alone while I browsed - which is the way I like it. Store is clean and inviting. Prices are all displayed on the shelves. I read somewhere that with every pair of glasses purchased they have a Buy a Pair, Give a Pair program going on and someone in need will be provided a pair of glasses - how awesome is that? I ended up purchasing a pair of black Aubrey sunglasses with prescription and looking forward to when they arrive! I had them sent to the store because the 30 day return back policy starts the moment you receive them - and if they are delivered to your house, count down starts. 4 stars for now, will add in a fifth after I receive my new glasses. This store has changed the entire process of purchasing prescription glasses! No longer do you have to spend hundreds of dollars for designer names all produced by the same manufacturer (basically, that's how it is). You pay $150 all in or $200 if you have a higher/stronger prescription. The sections are so well organized. Everything is labelled and the staff really know their product lines. Although I crossed paths with several employees, they were all helpful and there was never any pressure to make a purchase. I have unique needs. I have a giant head. I found a pair within the first five minutes but continued to search just to make sure. A quick measurement done by an optician and then a swipe of your credit card, et voila! You're good to go. I didn't even have my prescription with me at the time so they give you the option to take a photo and send it in via a follow-up email. So easy! So...I tried to go the online route as it seemed ordering something so personal as prescription glasses would be difficult via an online selection. The answer is yes. Not ideal and, as good as the photos and sizing platform is, it is still something you need to do in person. But before I did go the in person route I ordered online and the glasses arrived via Canada Post as expected and within the proposed timeline. They were well-built, beautiful and nicely presented however the lens size was just too large for my face. Fortunately I work within 10 minute drive of the WP store on Queen Street so I made my way over during a lunch break. I explained my situation and 'no questions asked' the sales associate said 'I'm very sorry to hear that' and proceed my return within seconds and then said 'OK lets get you on a pair you'll love'. 15 minutes later I found two frames I really liked and chose both. At $300 for two (tax in) you cant beat the price. Half of what I paid at Lenscrafters for one pair last year. Paying double to have the Burberry logo seems to be brand game in lenses and it is just not required anymore thanks to WP. The associate suggested that I have them shipped to the store that way I can get them quick and do any adjustments when I picked them up. 48 hours later I received an email stating they were ready. Done. Great experience but I would suggest that if possible just go to the store and try on as many as possible. determine if they can make the adjustments you need and for the cost of some gas to go back you are still way ahead. read more

Talk nerdy to me, Warby Parker. Before their retail store opened here in TO last year, I ordered spectacles from Warby Parker online. I'm a fan girl of any company that does good, has pretty products and keeps prices in check. Every pair I've gotten has been exactly $150, and as long as their business model doesn't change, every pair of glasses I buy forever will be $150. Yep, I'm a big BIG fan of these guys, I honestly wish I hadn't been the last hold out in Toronto to buy a pair of glasses of them until now. I'd heard about their online service and while superimposing glasses on a still image of your face and then submitting your prescription and measurements into a website, just didn't seem like the best way to spend a few hundred dollars. Fast forward to the opening of not one but two stores in the Toronto area and would you look at that... it's time to buy glasses! My ONLY bugaboo about these guys is that they're an eye doctor shy from being a total 360-degree service. It was a bit of a pain to have to go to Walmart and get my eyes tested and then schlep my way into the city again to look for glasses, a one-stop shop like the Hakims of this world would be boss. Don't even keep one on FT staff, just have someone who does eye exams 1-2 times a week. Anyway, that's my only thing. The rest is all wine and roses :) I promise! WP isn't a store to get glasses, it's a personal shopping experience where you're personally looked after from the moment you walk in with unwavering customer service. The gal who helped me, stood with me for over an hour while I tried numerous pairs on, then helped me with the process of elimination to work it down to the best pair. I completed my measurements with her the moment I picked the perfect pair, she entered everything and completed my order on a tablet, I paid and away I went! They said 5-10 business days my glasses would arrive, they came in 2-3!! Upon pick up the perfect fit was worked out and a great case and cloth bag were provided for the glasses! Don't come here on a weekend; it gets super crowded. But for an eyewear shop, it's awesome that you can browse and try on anything that catches your eye. Prices are good and customer service is useful. They do adjustments in-house; just walk in with your WB glasses and they'll loosen/tighten them to fit you better. I purchased one pair of glasses (September 2016) and a pair of sunglasses (March 2017). A word of caution about the sunglasses: if you're purchasing prescription sunglasses, they _will_ turn out differently from the sunglasses on display! A lot of the sunglasses on display have a tint, reflection or gradient on them. Prescription lenses will not have these special effects. The prescription lenses are very basic. For example, if the sunglasses on display have a blue-to-brown gradient and you order a pair with prescription, your sunglasses will arrive with *only* blue or *only* brown. Before you order, double check this with the staff. Alternatively, you can wait to see how they turn out and if you don't like them, return it within 30 days for a full refund. read more

I'm so excited that a Warby Parker store opened up in the neighbourhood. Today was the first day they were open, and it was quite busy, but I'm excited to go back and spend some time looking around (without the crowd!). They have a wide selection of sunglasses and prescription glasses, which are very trendy but at a reasonable price. You can also shop online and they have free shipping and returns, but now that there is one so close, I'm excited to try them all on in person! read more

I had a very good experience here. I was helped right away, no waiting. I like the glasses I purchased, they are "narrow" and made for a smaller face, which I needed and was glad they had this option. I ordered them in store on Sunday and they were ready for pick up by Tuesday! Very quick service. I also noticed they were meticulous about measuring them to my face (the arms) which I appreciated. I had gone somewhere else prior to Warby Parker for glasses and the measuring they did was terrible. I went in several times to re-measure, at one point the arms were completely off and at different measurements, then they were too tight. I returned those and went to Warby Parker and am happy with my glasses. They were also reasonably priced, hopefully they stay that way. Only con: I think they need more glasses in which arms measure 135mm. if you have a smaller face/head like me, they have a few of these, not many to choose from. I bought the 140mm and they measured them well so I'm ok. read more

I was so excited to finally get a new pair of beautiful glasses back in September. After having them recommended to me by two friends, I had such high hopes for buying my first pair of glasses from Warby Parker (as up until 3 years ago I was covered under my parents benefits and was getting them essentially free). The staff at the Warby Parker store were not only incredibly helpful, but they were courteous and went out of their way to make me feel welcome and accepted (explaining to me that all their pairs were unisex and putting the order under my chosen name). I was so excited to hear that, having ordered them September 23rd, I was going to receive them in just 8-11 days! But when 11 days turned to 15, turned to 20, and after having to have them re-ordered not once, but twice (after they were re-ordered with the wrong prescription), and promised up and down they would arrive in maximum another 8 days, my excitement turned to disappointment. The customer service team I have been corresponding with have gone from helpful/accommodating, now to ignoring my feedback and pleas for further compensation. What had begun as a wonderful customer service experience has turned into a frustrating nightmare. I can not say with confidence that I will ever recommend Warby Parker to my Canadian friends. If I'm being honest, I've had better online customer service from Walmart. Warby Parker has not even tried to further compensate me for my troubles. After the glasses were two weeks over due and I contacted them I was offered a $50 refund (they were $200. Now another customer service rep (who out of respect I will not name) has tried to offer me the same refund, the one I was already getting. When I asked if I could receive an ADDITIONAL $50 as another two weeks (going on three) have past, I was told $50 was all she would do. I've posted to social media about my experience but clearly WP doesn't care about one lowly customer in Canada. UPDATED: After speaking to a customer service representative via the online chat option and having requested to speak with a manager, they finally offered me a $100 refund. Got really great, stylish glasses at a fraction of the cost of other big chains in the area. The only issue was, at least on a Sunday midday that we visited, was that it was a bit like an Apple store in that it was a victim of it's own success. The shop was really quite full and saying 'oh sorry' and 'excuse me' a couple of dozen times when trying to dodge around other keen customers trying glasses on becomes a little tiresome.
