I have a rare optic nerve condition that I've been diagnosed with for 20+ years, and which has left me legally blind for 15. Because of that, I've been to quite a variety of doctors, in several different cities, and Dr. Anidjar is officially my favourite by far. Thorough, compassionate and professional, she did a more comprehensive exam than I've had since the diagnosis (done after she told me that it was all covered by OHIP for me--which previous optometrists hadn't known/told me). She talked me through some aspects of eye care that other doctors have brushed over (being legally blind, functional, and stable, often leads doctors to pat me on the back and neglect the impact of small improvements). She also went out of her way to help me fill out some disability paperwork (referring me out for an extra, more comprehensive test, and going out of her way to thoroughly and accurately fill out the forms). She was clear, well-informed, and thoughtful in her practice and in her manner, at every stage. Dr. Anidjar is the first vision expert that I've met, that I'm looking forward to seeing again in the future. I couldn't recommend her more, no matter what your vision care needs are. read more

I have seen all 3 doctors here over the last few years and they all go above and beyond! Each doctor is extremely personable and I am so happy to have had the chance to meet each of them. I originally saw Dr. Rebecca a few years ago for my complete eye exam- she was extremely thorough and explained what she was doing and why so that I was completely comfortable the entire time. Last year I took the plunge into contact lenses, something I've been thinking about for years but was always too nervous to do. Dr. Lisa fit me in multifocal contact lenses and I can honestly say that I've never been happier. The freedom I've received from not having to rely on my glasses day in and day out is incredible! I now wear them more than my glasses! A few weeks ago I went in with an eye infection and saw Dr. Theo. At first I was a little upset to not be able to see Lisa or Rebecca, but my worries were for nothing. Dr. Theo was thorough and very approachable- she answered all my questions and followed up with me a few times until I was feeling all better. I visited Yonge & College Optometry for the first time earlier this month for a regular eye exam as well as to address some concerns about what I believe was meibomian gland dysfunction leading to dry eyes and the overproduction of discharge. The receptionists were very welcoming and immediately checked my insurance and told me which additional tests I could get for free. After a short wait, I met with Dr. Rebecca Anidjar for my exam. She was very kind and patient and listened to all of my concerns before giving various treatment suggestions. She even looked up different solutions in books and online in order to provide the best care. When she noticed a potential thinning of my retina - something my old optometrists never mentioned, she referred me to a specialist immediately for preventative care, clearly demonstrating that she had my best long-term interests in mind. To finish, she booked me in for a free follow-up appointment a month later to make sure the suggested treatments work out for me. Yes, it really is worth a five star rating. I went in coming from a physio appointment after I saw that they accepted walk-ins. As soon as I walked in I was impressed. It was clean with modern and best of all the services was hands down the best I have received from any health care office, let alone any service establishment in the city. Seriously. The lady at the front desk (I forgot to ask her name) was so nice. We had a great chat and she made me feel super comfortable. I saw Dr.Lisa Anidjar for my eye exam. She was awesome. She was incredibly friendly, really patient and she walked me through everything she was doing in the exam. She answered all my questions and thanks to her I now understand why eye exams are so important. I learned more in that session than I have going in for eye exams in the last decade and that's empowering. The only thing I loved more than the service and welcoming ambiance was that it's a family owned business. They definitely have a customer for life. read more

Yonge & College Optometry was recommended to me by a friend and also by a Facebook group (Urban Indigenous). I hadn't been for an eye assessment for a decade! Dr. Lisa Anidjar (HBSc., OD) was great! Very kind, professional and generous. She didn't rush the exam and was thorough; I could tell that she valued getting the best results rather than just getting patients in and out. She provided lots of information and context regarding the various parts of the examination. She went over my eye health in detail and prescribed effective lenses for my first-ever eyewear. There were two tests that are not covered by OHIP or NIHB, however they were worth it, especially having not been for so long. Economy Optical were also awesome (right next door). I got blue-light blocking lenses with prescription, and super stylish ones in only four days. They look really nerdy and cute! It was a really great experience. Would recommend! read more

Lisa and Rebecca Anidjar) provide excellent care and even came in to check my eyes on a day they were closed to make sure I was not reacting adversely to prescribed drops. Yonge and College Optometry houses the parents' business making and selling prescription glasses and contact lenses--and their daughters' optometry practice. Having the two services together provides for excellent care. Eye examinations are available for walk-ins or by appointment. Optician Albert Anidjar can pre-order lenses and then affix them to glasses frames while you wait so that you don't have to do without your glasses. Called ahead for an appointment and was told i could be squeezed in. when i got there it was busy but was told it could work out nicely. after about five minutes i was already in the exam chair with dr rebecca. she was great. i can't believe how quickly they were able to accommodate me and still had time to explain my prescription to me. Waiting room had 'friends' on their tv and free candy. place was nicely kept and reception was great. dr made exam really worthwhile. I didnt know i had a 'blind spot' ... learn something new each day. Went with prescription and lenses highly recommended by dr and had it filled next door. great service. I can't believe the absolutely amazing service I received. I was going from progressive glasses and wanted to try multifocal contact lenses. These can be complicated to fit to get good vision for both near and far. Dr. Lisa was so persistent and determined to get it right for me. I had multiple visits and tried several different trial lenses before landing on the perfect ones. The care and dedication Lisa showed was definitely above and beyond and I am so happy with my lenses. I saw Dr. Anidjar for an eye exam last month and was extremely satisfied with the attention that I received. Dr. Anidjar is not only very thorough but I got the impression that she genuinely cared about providing the best possible exam. She was excellent at communicating the various tests she performed as well as some of the things I was experiencing with my vision. There is a genuine interest in the comfort, and well being, of their clients.
