Spadina Optometry has done some great pivoting their business model. Enjoy the clichés. I was almost out of contacts. Pretty scary during this uncertain time. I need them. My glasses are wobbly, and can't be used to exercise (2 metres from others) or look cute in video calls. Boo. Luckily, SO has been extremely *nimble* and switched to email orders. They have my 'script on file, and I emailed and paid via transfer. My contacts arrived within two days. Brilliant.

My kid has had something bothering her eyes even though it wasn't her annual appointment time, but they allowed her to be seen. They also try to get my glasses of high prescription thinner than anywhere else could make it. The glasses here are quadruple the price of online glasses like KITS at nearly $1000 (or would be over $1000 if they didn't give me the 15% off for getting the eye exam there). Insurance only covers $500. But overall, I'm happy with how they look and feel.

The gal at the front desk ( her name is Lisa Andriano ) squeezed me in somehow ; and I saw Dr Di Marco ! The office is immaculate and was super busy that day ! Lisa ( who I later found out was the Clinic Manager ) somehow saw me in distress ,got me in quickly ,and ,my issue was resolved ! Dr Di Marco is brilliant, "thorough" , and so calming to talk to .. I have been through cataract surgery , regular visits and my eyes have improved immensely! I actually tried to speak with her. I thought that was odd. The manager of the store relayed the message that my son could benefit from Blue Light glasses. We then went through the process of selecting those. Fast forward to this afternoon. The store manager calls, leaves a voicemail, telling me that they have made a referral and that my 15 year old knows about it. He didn't. I call back and ask what's up. I'm told that the doctor, in an abundance of caution, is concerned enough to refer my son to another level of clinic to assess the issue that he brought to their attention. The manager called because she felt the doctor behaved oddly by not speaking to me. While I'm happy for the referral, I am a bit disappointed that, between the doctor and the store manager, I was expected to hear of the doctor's concern via a teenage boy. Anyway, all of this is to say you may want to consider a different shop. In my experience optometrists elsewhere do actually speak with parents of kids about what is necessary to keep the kids healthy. This place sort of does that, though you may have to wait 24 hours and hope that the manager comes to feel a bit off about the doctor to the point of calling to let you know herself

My optometrist was friendly and very informative of what was causing my eye discomfort. She took the time to explain and showed videos to make sure I understood and offered advice on how to take care of my eyes at home. The inside of the store was clean and the other staff members were attentive and nice. I personally didn't have time to browse the shop for glasses but they do provide 30 minutes after your exam to look and try frames. Everything is operating by appointment only but it's easy to book it on their website. I plan to return in the future to try on glasses and recommend anyone to go visit too!

We don't write this review lightly as we were regular customers of See and Be Seen.  We have always…read moretrusted them with our daughter's glasses since she was in Grade 2 (now 6).  Their service had always been great helping our daughter pick out glasses that suited her and making sure she felt comfortable in what she was wearing.  The price point was always higher than what we wanted to pay but we didn't let that bother us cause she would be a glasses/contact wearer the rest of her life so we wanted to make sure she was somewhere that made her comfortable. Unfortunately our recent experience is one that will ensure was our last visit to this establishment.  Our daughter, for the first time, snapped her glasses in half at the bridge.  We rushed to See and Be Seen Liberty Village to sort out a new pair for her.  They fit her quickly with a new pair of glasses for almost $900 and told us that they would typically be ready in 7-10 days but that they would put a rush on it so hopefully it would arrive earlier.  Seven days later we reached out to the store to find out if they would be arriving soon only to be told that they were still in the lab.  We were assured that someone at See and Be Seen would follow up with the lab because there was a rush on the order and provide us an update but worst case it would arrive early the following week.  We never heard back. On day 11 (early the following week) we still had not heard anything about the glasses so we decided to follow up.  Again we were told the order was still with the lab and there was no update.  This is when we realized no one had originally done the follow up.  At this point we escalated the issue and were told that they would follow up with the lab to ensure there is a rush on the order and get an estimate on when they would be delivered.  We requested a refund and was told the Director would need to address this.    When speaking with the Director we were told no refund could be done as the lenses had already been ordered and that the original timeline was 7-10 business days but could be as long as 10-14 business days.  We reiterated what we were told in store but was told repeatedly that would be impossible as their staff are all trained on business days. We asked to speak to the owner of the store and to this day have not heard back from them.  Our biggest issue is the lack of accountability from all parties involved.  My wife, daughter and I all heard 7-10 days but apparently that would be entirely impossible from their perspective.  To top this all off their best advice was for us to buy another pair of glasses (with a free lenses offer) for situations like this.  I'm not sure how many people can afford a $500 pair of glasses as a back up.  We finally received the glasses on day 13 after they had finally followed up with the lab.  I'm sure other people have had great experiences with them as we also had in the past.  But this last experience has certainly been the most ridiculous for us and will be the last time we purchase from this establishment.

Unprofessional place--avoid at all costs!!!…read more I had an eye exam here, and they made a glaring error: my right eye axis was off by 20 degrees. Small differences can happen, but 20 degrees is unacceptable for a place that claims to be professional. Even then, I wasn't angry. The real nightmare started when I checked my glasses. I bought a handcrafted frame from Japan for more than $800 after tax--fragile, unique, and something I truly cherish. On the day they tried to "fix" their axis mistake, instead of handling it properly, they decided to bend my frame without my consent. Now it's distorted, misshapen, and looks awful. They brushed it off as a "small adjustment." How ridiculous! Who bends a fragile Japanese frame to fix an optical prescription error?! I'm devastated and deeply disappointed by the way they treat their customers. And yes--it was Dr. Rebecca, the same name that appears in many other one-star reviews. Also, after few rounds of communication, the clinic refused to admit their mistake, still saying their intention was good, and the issue was small. The most irresponsible clinic I've ever encountered. A complete joke.
