Went for eye exam and maybe glasses. Satisfactory exam experience but while waiting to complete my exam, was discouraged from looking at potential glasses to buy! I thought that's why I was there. Meanwhile they opened up the display cases for others having their eyes examined. I guess they didn't want my business, based on my appearance. Been looking for a good place with a variety of glasses options and happen to stumble upon Optical Thirty 8 after reading so many raving reviews. Went in on a weekend and they were super busy but all associates were super friendly and helpful. I worked with Doris the entire time and she was great. Understood what I wanted and gave me options. She was very patient with me as well which was great especially how indecisive i was! Doris follows up with you once the frames are in and is super helpful with adjusting the glasses for you to make sure its a perfect fit. My husband went and tried their optometrist today as well and she was super knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. What can I say? They have amazing prices on glasses with first class service! You can get prescription glasses for $38! Service is phenomenal here. I bought a pair of glasses 2 years ago, a screw fell out of my glasses and they replaced for free, no questions asked, offered free adjustment also, and gave me a free package including lens cleaner and a free screwdriver to fix my glasses. They have glasses for all budgets, men, women, kids although some of their stuff seems to be a knock-off. I had to get some nose pads put on my frames and I had someone direct me to Optical Thirty 8. Steven helped me out with this and let me know they would be sending out my glasses to get the pads put on and the estimated turn around time. He was very professional, courteous, and took his time explaining everything to me. The estimated turnaround time was 3 days from the drop off date but they actually got it back to me in 2! The eye doctor (Diana Y) that checked me was the sweetest thing ever and the associate helping me with my glasses purchase was also very sweet. I believe his name was Neil? (Could have spelt that wrong) I've been wearing glasses since the age of 10, getting eye exams every so often. Out of all the exams I've ever had, this was the best experience ever! I gave it a high rating because of their customer service in spite of feeling like I got the worst end of the bargain. I went to them after purchasing $15 of $150 of prescription and frame deal on Groupon. When I walked into the store I was greeted by friendly staff who assisted quickly. I was given water to drink while examining my prescription glasses. Dr. Patrick Eng, an Optometrist, examined my current glasses and noted that they are progressive. After my exam he assured me that I didn't need progressive lens and was quite surprised I was prescribed that to begin with. I was pleased by his thorough and diligent eye examination. I was then helped to pick frames. I picked a non designer black frame that seems to fit me perfectly. I sat down as the lady processed my voucher and she said balance came to $168. Mind you that's $318 for no name frame and lens. She was hesitant about giving me a receipt. I don't know what that was about. Bottom line don't buy into the hype of Groupon, do you research and ask questions. read more

Basic frameset is at least $120+. Eye exam is $75. Minimum total out of pocket still comes to around $120+50+75-150+15=- 110+tax. Surpassed all our expectations with regards to customer service and value! We were greeted by ANNE who was remarkably well-informed about the products. Anne saved us so much time by sitting us down in front of the style of eyeglasses we wanted and by selecting several pairs for my daughter to try on. My daughter ultimately chose the second pair she was shown, but Anne made sure that she had the chance to try out many styles and colours. Anne also adjusted the frames to address concerns my daughter had about potential pressure points.I had anticipated having to visit numerous shops, but this store in Scarborough has a wide variety of styles to choose from, and offers quality eyewear -- including high-end brands. Normally, I do not like to shop with the assistance of a salesperson, but Anne was charming and did not push us. I noticed that the other salespersons were very cordial too, and brought us some water without our asking. OH, IF ONLY ALL MY PURCHASES WERE THIS EASY TO MAKE!
