Don't be mislead by its location and store appearance. On the outside, this store is tucked away along the streets of china town and often overlooked as just another mediocre store. Don't be deceived. I've worked in the area before and have passed this stores countless times over the course of 8 years and never have I stepped foot within. However, today I tore a contact lens and was desperate to find an immediate replacement as I was driving and one eyed piloting downtown isn't what I would define as ideal. This was the third store that I had visited after my unfortunate contact tear as none of the other stores I visited even cared to bat an eye. Was I pleasantly surprised. The inner store decor is pristine, clean, hip, and showcased a large array of high quality glasses and frames. The service is warm, friendly, and even before I purchased anything, they immediately gave me a free contact sample for comfort. No questions asked. Truly high end service, matched with quality inner design that's both cozy and sophisticated. I'll be certain to visit this place for a new frame upgrade when my eyewear wears off. I finally found my go to glasses place! Price is great, the selection is awesome, and the service is amazing! They really go out of their way to satisfy the customer. Everyone is very friendly. Justin was the one who helped me the most and he has been amazing (although the lady who first helped me picked my glasses was great as well)! He was patient in helping me choose my frames and listening to my concerns. When I bought my sunglasses from them and noticed that there was a scratch on the frame when I got home, I brought it back the next day and they allowed me to pick a different pair of sunglasses with no questions asked (they couldn't give me a replacement of the same glasses since the model was discontinued). When I picked a new pair out, they had to take some time to prepare the prescription lenses. Because of that wait, they allowed me to continue to use my currently scratched pair of sunglasses so I wouldn't be without one and swap them once my new sunglasses were ready. I also made a special request on the tinting on the lenses and when it wasn't quite as I wanted it, Justin took it back to re-tint the lenses with no hesitation. I'm really satisfied with their service and I've been recommending them to my friends and family ever since! I'm always hesitant when it comes to buying from independently owned stores, especially in Chinatown but I completely trust Saigon Optical that they will back their products and will follow through with their warranty as promised. read more

Saigon Optical has an extensive collection of fashionable frames and Daniel helped me try several different types until we found the right ones. I ended up with two pairs: Ray Ban and Tom Ford. I have only ordered contacts from them twice but I got myself in a bit of a situation a few weeks ago in which Justin of Saigon Optical went above and beyond to help me out. I had a special event to go to on a Saturday and the night before, I lost my last right contact. I rushed into the store in the morning just before the event hoping to a sample to get me through the day. It turns out that places don't really carry samples of contacts for astigmatism but they were able to provide me with a pair of regular contacts that were very close my my prescription. On top of that, Justin ordered me three right contacts (I don't know why I always lose my right ones!) to go with the three left ones I still had. No charge! Thank you! read more

When I went to buy a pair of glasses, I described the style I was looking for, and they were able to find several styles that suited what I wanted. They make great recommendations, and you can tell that they're very experienced. I was also very pleased when they were able to order in a specific pair of sunglasses for me, that they didn't have in stock at the store. The owners and staff of this family business are amazing, they are all very passionate about serving their clients and are very knowledgeable when it comes to anything eye related. I've been going to this store for the past few years for my prescription glasses and sunglasses. They have a good selection of trendy frames in a broad price range. The service is always top-notch! I'm the type to try on dozens of frames before I can narrow my choices down and they are never anything less than patient and helpful. I've purchased designer sunglasses for $100 less than what a department store would charge. I've special-ordered frames they didn't carry in-store. Their turnaround time for prescription eyewear is a few days tops, and one time I even had my prescription glasses done in an hr bc they had the lenses on hand. BEWARE All is great until you have a problem. Picked up my new progressive lense glasses and in the days of use seemed like smuge mark on lense like dirt very annoying. The marks are Rx # lasered on lenses never been on my old lenses. When I returned to enquire they talked down to me claiming this is required by law. Google review proved this not true, inquiry to lense maker stated this is a Manufacturer's Defect and should not be seen. Store response nothing to be done and ignored me and pretend to do other things. No help No service Too Bad for you. Meanwhile my wife thought about new Ray Bans First clue price is tax included and more tan $100.00 less than other stores. Second she noticed A very different weight between these and her Ray Bans. Upon detailed inspection they show small quality flaws in the lenses and construction. She asked some questions about them and got no resonable answers. Her conclusion was either they are seconds or knock offs. Remember if it's too good to be true it probably isn't. BUYER BEWARE !!
