The massage I received from John recently is not comparable to last time at all. I am disappointed.

Update - I just visited John's new location and absolutely LOVE it. It is so relaxing and soothing you just want to hang a hammock and spend the day! read more

I absolutely adore being pampered from head to toe and this place knows exactly the things that I want. I am always pressured at work because I do a little bit of sales but this place never disappoints me. Their therapists are well-trained and one of a kind. This place is such a stress reliever. Theirs is the best massage to be had in Phoenix! read more

The most relaxing experience ever! Very professional and the environment makes it easy to unwind. John gives very good tips and both him and Brianna are awesome!! read more

I had an amazing massage from Jessica! I rarely have issues with back pain but a couple weeks ago I had so many knots it felt unbearable. I found Space Massage on Yelp and they were able to get me in last minute. Jessica asked me a lot of questions prior and was very attentive. The next day, my back pain was gone! The price was SO reasonable and I felt much more relaxed for days after. I will definitely be booking more appointments with Jessica! read more

This was great! It's a beautiful, relaxing, cosy place. Made me feel good right away. It's super clean as well. Brianna was great, very nice, very good and professional. Highly recommend! read more

I felt John knows how to perform a thorough massage. He covered all the areas I asked and worked on areas he felt were necessary. I really appreciated him explainging some of the techniques and their benefits. He really knows how to create a good atmosphere and make a person feel comfortable. The office is cozy, relaxing and makes you feel peacful. Really enjoyed the massage read more

Hands down the best massage I have ever had. I walked in there with a literal pain in the neck and walked out relaxed and without pain. The days that followed were even better. read more

Had another great massage with John - his studio is a great space - perfect to relax and enjoy the massage. He is very knowledgeable and is good at finding those spots that need attention. He takes the time to listen to you and tailors the massage to your needs - looking forward to the next time already! read more

My husband and I had a couples massage with John and Stacey, and we were both so happy that we chose Space! I had a lot of tightness in my upper back and shoulders and John focused a lot of effort in opening me up. I felt relaxed, extended, and more open when we left. Although I have more work to do to stay loose, Johns massage definitely helped me on my way. read more

I was extremely satisfied with my first visit to John's studio! I booked a 90 min couple's massage for my boyfriend and I. John took the time to ask sincere and thoughtful questions about my preferences and his colleague did the same for my boyfriend. The massage itself was amazing and I felt great after! It was not aggressive (which I don't like) but really focused all of the tight and sore areas I indicated. The studio was very clean and quiet. I look forward to going back and possibly purchasing the 3 month pack. read more

I didn't know how much I needed to relax until I was actually having my massage. John was great - his overall demeanor was soothing and kind and elicited total confidence from me in his abilities. I had also never had a massage from a guy before but aside from my own initial shyness, it really wasn't a big deal at all. I feel almost weightless and am completely happy I found Space. Already booked my next appointment and am looking forward to making this a part of my lifestyle. I can't recommend Space enough. read more

I couldn't be happier with Space! Johns space is very relaxing, calm, and quiet. The last time I got a massage was at Bliss, but I couldn't believe how much better this massage was. His place has dim lighting and unique decor which helps you relax upon coming in opposed to "windex cleaned, everything white and bright" commericalish massage place. Most places don't have a relaxed feel until you enter the room you're actually getting a massage in, but it's not like that at Space! Such a better experience right from the start. John really helps work with what you need and want you want. He really listens and talks to you before your massage to see what exactly he needs to focus on. I told him to really work on my upper body and I can't remember the last time my body was at such ease. I never felt better! When you're with John he helps make you feel more of a connection, which makes you feel that much more relaxed and comfortable as well. He's very kind and soothing - I was in a daze after my massage. To sum it up, not only would I go see John again, but I would also recommend him to all my friends and family! read more

My mom, sister and I had amazing massages - so peaceful and professional. We had a great time.

Not at ALL DEEP tissue , therefore not at all enjoyable.I am amazed how many massage therapists are too lazy to put the work into a deep massage. It's a lot of work and it's not easy therefore many of these massage therapists false advertise by saying they do deep massage and in reality they don't even come close. To us people who really go to these people needing and literally craving some deep tissue work , it's highway robbery practically when we lay there and then pay a lot of money for something we don't like or enjoy. Even when we say go deeper , they don't. It's like they are selfish and don't care at all what the client really wants. I've seen it time and time again. I imagine alot of these positive reviews could be friends and family. I now have a terrific guy. He is 65 and sweats and grunts and works so hard to give a deep massage and he is my weekly guy now and he always listens and does what I want. read more

I have only had one massage done by another guy which I did not relax or enjoy. Generally I am not comfortable with a guy giving me a massage. I have been following John on Twitter for about two years and decided to give it a shot when he offered again, like many times, to help me with my neck. John first invites you into his home and keep a comfortable distance from you and asks several questions about your lifestyle so he can get a feel of what treatment he needs to provide. (It can be odd knowing you're going to a man's house being a woman for a massage!) His studio is next to his home, which is beautifully done and very clean. The environment is relaxing and professional. I felt completely grounded after my massage and my body alignment was perfect. I was very pleased and was completely relaxed and had one of the best nights of sleep I've had in a long time. This will not be your usual massage and I highly recommend. Looking forward to my next "planned" massage from John! Like Nike - Do it. read more

After a 3,500 mile / 2 week road trip with the family we decided to end of trip in Phoenix before finally heading home to Los Angeles. Initially, since we were staying at a resort that had a spa I was going to book a massage on property, however for some reason as my husband tends to tease me about I can never just make things easy or simple - LOL! After reading through countless review of multiple spas and massage practitioners Space by far had the most consistently stellar reviews. I, of course was extremely skeptical because despite the reviews it was still a leap of faith. From the moment I arrived until I left John was welcoming, intuitive, professional and is truly a talented practitioner. Unlike your traditional spa/massage appointment where your "hour" appointment is really just 45-50 minutes John spent the first 20 or so minutes talking with me, getting to know the issues I was having, massage preferences and allowing me to also become comfortable. It was then the hour long session began. It was perfect and so much for what he shared with me i.e.: posture, movement, not feeling in pain or getting a headache the following day all made sense as sadly as previously hose were my experiences with other places. I only hope my review inspires someone new to also try Space and experience how truly gifted John is. There is a reason he has such a following what people are saying is TRUE! Even though I live far away I look forward to booking another appointment when I am in town. In fact I will go so far as say I would come to town just to have a session with John. ENJOY! read more

I have been getting massages off and on for over fifteen years but once I went to John I have never gone anywhere else. John always takes the time to listen before he gets started and his technique is amazing. One of the things I like most about Space is that John adjusts his technique according to my current needs or "pains". Usually, John has a better understanding of the current imbalance, aches and/or pains that my body is feeling better than I do and he knows how to heal them. I fully trust his craft and always feel 1000x better after an appointment. I really don't know what I would have done without him all these years!! read more

I've received three massages from John at Space Massage Studio - I'm really convinced it's the best massage in Phoenix. I've had work from all over the country and many different styles of massage, and am a massage therapist myself, so I have very high standards when it comes to picking a massage therapist. Everything about the experience at space is perfect! The studio is lovely; simple, chic, calming, AND so close to La Grande Orange I can make a pit stop for some goodies and poke around the Arcadia area after a session. Not only do the massages feel amazing while receiving them, but the effects actually last and I'm never sore afterwards. Because John runs the whole show, I never feel rushed or like I'm being hustled for return business like some of the bigger spas do. He takes lots of time, and adds all of the little perks like hot towels for hands and feet. I just couldn't ask for more! read more

Lots of outside stress (in the form of knots, tight muscles, limited movement) had found a home in my body until Stacey started working on it. I needed deep relaxation as well and found my very own day spa in one precious hour. Thank you, Stacey, for a thorough, healing and nurturing massage. It was exactly what I needed and I look forward to another in the near future. read more

I knew I was in for a great massage when, before getting started, John and I engaged in a brief conversation around his humble questions, What is it about massage that you love? How do you feel after a massage? I had never been asked that before by a massage therapist, and felt grateful for his thoughtfulness. John makes the massage personal and comfortable so that you feel at home. My partner surprised me with a session for my birthday, and there was no better way to celebrate! I loved that, during the massage, no part of my body felt separate from another. Everything felt connected and whole. For example, while John would be working on my back, there were warm towels grounding me at my feet. The session was full of consciousness and careful attention. I can't narrow down what kind of massage John offered to me that day, which is my preference anyway. He artfully combined Swedish, Thai, deep tissue, and his knowledge of yoga encouraged me to continue this healing process on my own. Thank you John for a wonderful session on this special day! read more

Michaela Reak is one of the best LMTs I have ever met at Space massage studio. I was reluctant to share the review, but felt gratitude for her extra-ordinary massage. She communicates well on how much pressure is needed and the moment she started massage, I dozed off for some time. There is magic in her hands. She customizes her session depending on problem areas. She used Hot stones to melt away the stress as well, which is kind of cool. The studio is very nice with privacy and parking was great. Overall the experience was fantastic and I could not wait longer to book a session with her soon. read more

Great massage and appreciated his instructions on how to relax even before starting. Nice small studio. I recommend him for any type of massage, but if you are athletic and need a deep massage I would look no further. read more

Best. Massage. Ever. I have quite a unique story about the impact massage can have on you. I went to see John in April 2014 when I was 2 weeks overdue with my second child. I heard massage might help kickstart my labor and I had tried everything else on the planet, to no avail. I saw John at 11:30 am for a prenatal massage. It was the MOST relaxing massage I have ever had in my entire life (and I've had 200+ massages over the years!) My son was born that evening at 8:00 pm. Fast forward 2 1/2 years to last week. Deja vu! I was 2 weeks overdue with my 3rd child, had tried everything to get her moving. I saw John at 11:30 am again for a massage to get my labor going. I went into labor that night and my daughter was born the following day! Both births were very calm, peaceful home births, and I'm absolutely convinced it was because of the relaxing massages! If you are pregnant and need an amazing prenatal massage, John is your man!! read more

I needed a quiet relaxing massage after a long week at work. John was recommended to me and I am very gad I made the time to go for a massage. The Space is tranquil, clean and fresh smelling. The massage was a perfect pressure and the hour went by too quickly. He is thoughtful and thorough. read more

I can't express how wonderfully skilled John is in his craft! I was in town on vacation and wanted to treat myself to a massage and I could not have been happier! My problem area was targeted without the rest of my body being ignored, and I fell into a complete peaceful level of relaxation. I'm so happy that I'm moving to the city next month because I found a massage studio that takes it to another level! Amazing! read more

Best massage ever and great support for getting and staying in shape. Calming, lovely environment pairs well with the very thoughtful and effective massage services. read more

Not your "factory" massage experience! Its custom altered for your personal physical and emotional needs, a holistic fusion of chiropractic, manual therapy, and a massage...Its a spiritual experience and incredibly relaxing one...John has a sweet and special energy about him that wraps and relaxes you even during initial consultation conversation. He sure goes extra mile to listen, answer any of your questions and share his knowledge beyond massage. Thank you for your craft, John! read more

Based on all the great yelp reviews I went to see John for the first time today, and had one of the best massages I've ever had! He did an amazing job, I feel like a new person, and can't wait for my next appointment! read more

If I could give this place a thousand stars I would. I have never experienced anything like this in my life. I suffer from chronic pain for over 7 years. I have seen every doctor, specialist, chiropractor, etc there is with no relief. Stacey took the time to talk to me, explain what she was going to do and then worked her magic. The experience was beyond amazing. Can't say enough wonderful things about her!!!!!!!! HIGHLY recommend!!!!!!!!! read more

Had a massage with Stacey today. She was wonderful! Both she and John are intuitive and caring massage therapists. I left feeling more connected, integrated, and relaxed. You can't go wrong at Space. read more

Wish I could rave about Space Massage like the others but I thought the experience was mediocre at best. Sure he has a cool place with an interesting vibe but my needs were talked out of based on his "expertise". I didn't feel it was my massage. The room was too hot and it stayed hot even after saying so. I felt like he was trying to impress me with his knowledge and his unique way of rubbing versus really giving me a much needed all over stress reliever massage. I left wishing I had gone elsewhere. read more

My sister got me a gift card for Christmas and Marna was awesome. She gave me a ton of tips for stretches to do during the day for my neck and upper back, and the massage she gave me was perfect. I will definitely be recommending this studio to my friends! read more

I recently arrived in PHX after three days of nonstop driving. My body was tense and I needed stuck energy released, pronto. I booked an online appt. with Sarah for that evening. She is an energy healer, not just a masseuse. Very warm inviting space and great vibes all around. I felt worlds lighter. read more

The masseuse was very nice and professional. The experience he has shows in his work. I got a prenatal massage. It helped so much with the pain in my back and pelvis.
