I had such a wonderful experience at The NOW Massage! I booked the 50 minute Healer Massage and added the gua sha enhancement, and it was absolutely worth it. The entire experience was incredibly relaxing from start to finish, and the gua sha added an extra level of tension relief. I left feeling completely refreshed, rejuvenated, and so much lighter. I love The Now. It is a zen-like experience and a perfect location in Scottsdale. As a bonus, all front desk staff benefits from being kind and respectful of members and guests. Make the rules clear and do not speak down to anyone. Most people in the 21st Century have had at least one massage and know that it the massage time is the exact time the masseuse works on you. A 50 minute massage is 50 minutes of massage, not prep, and you will be booked at a specific time, say 4PM, but you need 5 minutes to get undressed. The massage starts at 4:05 and finishes at 4:55, and you will get dressed and leave at 5PM. read more

The Now and me were not meant to be. I was very excited about my membership but every booking ended up with something wrong. I tried so hard to like it but eventually gave up and cancelled my membership. I didn't even use one of my credits and I'm more relieved at wasting the $65 than stressing over what would go wrong. My experience: - First visit was at Scottsdale and had an amazing massage with Hank. It was maybe a little rushed but really enjoyed it. My second massage was also with Hank and I tried cupping which was awesome. - My third visit I was expecting that quality and had the worst massage of my life at Camelback. Others like this therapist but it was not my style. He talked to me throughout the massage telling me how good his massage was and gave me instructions at least 6 times (put your arm here, breathe this way, lift your head). Oh my god man, enough. I'm here to relax. He also did cupping which was an entire waste and completely different than my first experience. - I went to the next appointment with my boyfriend and had booked us at the same time but didn't ever say I was paying for his massage. The reception asked if I wanted to use one of my credits on him (IN FRONT OF HIM) and I said we would be paying separately. She again asked and I clarified we would pay separate. Then we got done and she INSISTED on using one of my credits on his massage. What her agenda was I have no idea but she clearly wanted my credits going to his massage. - The Now gave me a comped massage from Natasha and it was very good. I appreciated the gesture so I made another appointment. - next appointment comes up for MY BIRTHDAY. I got a call at 4 pm the day before my birthday and they said my masseuse was no longer available and the only person available was the guy mentioned before as the worst massage of my life. I cancelled the next day. - When trying to make another appointment to use my credits at Camelback, I called and the receptionist had me all set for a 6:00 appointment. One hour after booking she calls me back and says their AC has been out all day (in August) and wanted to see if I could come in at 7:30 instead because it "should be fixed by then." I cancelled immediately. - I decided to go back to Hank at Scottsdale in hopes to revive my disappointment with The Now Camelback. I tried to use a gift card credit I'd gotten from a holiday special and they told me it expired and I couldn't use it. Every visit was tainted with something and I am so relieved to never go back. read more

They don't really pay attention to the customers requests of individualize the massage. I booked on their website for a deep tissue massage and I put in what areas to avoid and what to focus on. They called me really shortly after to confirm everything and ask questions again. Then when I got there, they asked again- totally fine. Then the masseuse asked me to explain what I wanted and what areas to avoid. (There obviously had been no communication between front desk and her or her reading the massage appointment). But okay fine. Then during the massage, she massaged injured areas several times. And gave very light pressure and talked the wholeeee time. I kept having to interrupt to ask her to avoid the areas we discussed and to go deeper. I know maybe she's social, but it's hard to relax when someone's expecting you to respond nonstop to all her stories. She's very sweet though! Afterwards she was very kind and asked what she could do better, I mentioned I was bummed out she massaged areas I specifically said not to and that the massage was not deep tissue even though I had paid extra for that. Then she stated that she thinks massages should not be as deep because they are more like a cozy blanket when they're not deep. While I understand she doesn't like deep tissues, I really think if I paid extra for a deep tissue and that's my individual preference then that should have been what I got. It was also very disappointing that they obviously do not tailor their massages to the individual and pretend to take notes of injured areas while they don't pay attention :( They're a bit more expensive than other massage places and the atmosphere was beautiful, but for the price I paid I would've expected a lot better. Everyone was kind, but definitely would not have chosen this place if I knew it would be this way. read more
