I tried John for the first time today and he was awesome! He asked probing questions and tried to understand me/my body before just getting down to business which I appreciated. In addition to asking questions he also gave suggestions on how to make my issues better. The massage was just what I needed. Thanks John and thank you fellow Yelpers for your great referral. :) read more

I found this place on Yelp and it was as wonderful as all the reviews stated. My husband and I both had deep tissue massages and were both thrilled with our experiences. The massage therapists were very professional and knowledgeable and payed close attention to the areas of concern that we discussed prior to the massage. I absolutely recommend this massage studio! If you want an excellent deep tissue massage, you need to book with Kayt!! read more

This place is awesome!! I've been needing a massage for awhile and didn't want to go to a chain because all of the ones in my area had bad reviews. I found Space Massage Studio on Instagram and instantly fell in love. After 8 months I finally decided to book an appointment and WOW I was amazed! Anna was my massage therapist and I definitely recommend her to everyone. I'm a teacher, so I asked for the most focus on my back and neck areas. It was extremely relaxing and just the mental and physical "reset" I needed. I will definitely be back next month! read more

Currently 37 weeks pregnant and woke up this morning with a lot of aches and pains. Luckily I got to schedule same day appointment and was called in a very timely manner to confirm. Hailey did an AMAZING job on the massage and was very attentive as to what was bothering me and I appreciate that. All the subtleties was exactly what I needed. (warm towels, stretching, pressure, the extra towels/pillows, the music, the dim lighting, privacy) The environment was so welcoming and inviting I couldn't ask for a better way to start my day. Thank you! read more

I've been going here for a handful of months now and love it! I had previously been gifted a session here a few years ago and once I felt my jobs intensity start to creep up on me (in the form of back, shoulder, and hand pain) I knew I had to come back here. :) The atmosphere is tranquil, clean, and relaxing. All of the staff are so kind and attentive! I see Denise Medina- She is so good at what she does. I am a plus size nonbinary person which can make it difficult for me to find places where I truly feel safe and secure- Denise and Space Massage in general create such a neutral and stress-free space. I don't feel like my body is an inconvenience, I don't feel weird about disrobing or insecure in the slightest! Denise goes out of her way to accommodate my lower back pain in multiple ways and never makes me feel annoying or like I'm inhibiting the session. Moreover, shes frickin strong! I find that a lot of times people treat me more gently than I'd like, but when I ask for firm she definitely gives me firm, lol! Which is amazing because I can go to work with rehabbed muscles, ready to work comfortable and with minimal pain. I will absolutely be back routinely for, like... as long as I am in this bod. So, hopefully a long while! Thank you guys for being great! read more

The place was very nice clean, buddist zen feel, with relaxing soft music. Gave great instructions on how to get there and how to make my experience more relaxing through his insight. Did a great job, profesional, and also had a relaxed and focused way. Recomend it. Massage is with clothes on and in a room with the rest of the other clients. FYI. This was a little wierd for me, but it was good. read more

I yelped "best deep tissue massage" and found Lana here! And thank GOD I did. I finished a 90 minute session with CBD cream and it was 5 Star. Definitely will be back often! read more

I planned a couples massage for our anniversary and was impressed with the professionalism and attention to detail. John and Stacy were personable, spent time to understood our needs and preferences and delivered a outstanding massage in a comfortable environment. I appreciated that they spent time to know me and their technique was therapeutic and effective. I will definitely be back. Thank you! read more

My daughter and I went in to space massage and had the Swedish and the Thai massage. It was amazing. Both of us walked out feeling so relaxed and comfortable. It made our day. Matter of fact we have had several massages at different places... Washington, Mexico, Seattle, Palm Springs, Spokane.. and this was the fav. Definitely going back again and bringing friends. read more

I tried Space Massage for the first time a couple weeks ago. I was impressed with their space and very impressed their customer service. But most importantly, my massage was excellent! My therapist, Delilah, was amazing. She addressed some lower back tightness i pointed out and she made me feel very comfortable. I enjoyed my 90 minutes so much, I booked another 90 minutes a few days later. Give them a try. I'll definitely go back... read more

The therapist actually focused on the tight trapezius & neck areas I asked for - not typically what I have experienced elsewhere. Could have used a bit more focus on my low back, however. Will definitely return because overall it was a great massage experience. read more

John and his staff are skilled professionals. I'll return again and again. Money well spent

I found SPAce through Yelp based on the good reviews. The Studio was easy to find and parking was open. When I arrived John was finishing up with another client and acknowledged that I was there and would be just a few moments. (Acknowledgement goes a long way with me...means you appreciate me). Once he finished with the prior client, he sat down with me and discussed what I needed. I was in town for work and glad to find John as my left shoulder was hurting from the uncomfortable hotel bed. I would reccomend John; especially for ongoing treatment. :) read more

I went for the first time today. Even with a multi block power outage, Mary gave a great massage and very positive experience. I will be returning! read more

I came here for the first time yesterday for a deep tissue massage with Denise. It was the best massage I've ever had. My girlfriend came as well and got an equally amazing massage from Susan. She loved the decor and atmosphere. Afterward had a great chat with the owner. Looking forward to our future visit! read more

If you could see what a massage with Kayt feels like this is what it would be. https://youtu.be/ICxC5ekWnUc It was the definition of relaxing; fluid and concentrated, sweeping and deep. She greeted me with a smile right as I walked through the door. She is calming and kind presence. I will be returning ASAP. read more

My daughter got me my first massage ever from here and I loved it. John made me feel so comfortable and everyone was super nice. I bought my boyfriend here for his birthday and he absolutely loved it. We will definitely only get our massages here. read more

I found space massage on google and after reading reviews decided to book a pregnancy massage. I had been having horrible shoulder/back pain and needed help. I called hoping to get an appointment the next day and I was in luck. I booked my appointment with Rebecca. She was AMAZING! She explained everything she was doing because I was nervous. She walked me though why she was doing things & why I was having the pain. She even showed me stretches to do at home to help the pain! This was my first pregnancy massage and I'll definitely be back!! read more

John, thank you for the massage. If anyone in the area is looking for the works. Come check out his CBD massage!

John is truly a master of his craft. His massages help 'reset' whatever issue I have shown up with be they muscle aches, joint discomfort, a need to relax, reconnect, and reset, etc. Most recently, I was in because I am newly pregnant and feeling uncomfortable and disconnected from my changing body. I asked to feel more grounded and accepting of the physical changes that are happening, and left feeling so open, relaxed, and with a new sense of ease and excitement for my growing belly. There are many, many talented massage therapist in the world, but in all honesty John is hands down the best I've met. read more

Jessica was outstanding! She was very nice and made sure everything was great. The studio was very clean and so peaceful. I had such a wonderful massage experience - I will definitely be going back and would 10/10 recommend! read more

I asked specifically for deep tissue, we went over my desires to relieve knots in trapezius area, but to my disappointment John seemed to go soft n avoid these areas. I even said he could go deeper but he said he wasn't done but never went deep or to neck or knots btwn shoulder blades. I don't know why it's so hard to get a deep tissue massage. Heartbroken... nice room n clean, Seemed knowledgeable, but not deep tissue massage. Geez it takes me 8 hours labor to pay for his 1 hour which I'd gladly pay for relief. maybe other therapist is better?? Nice massage but not if you're hurting like I am, it's a sad disappointment. read more

I highly recommend John Hill at space massage. Over the last 10 years I have received dozens of massages to aid in my recovery from a cervical spine fracture. John provided one of the best massages I've ever received. I travel a great deal for work. I've had massages all over the country. I now have a place I will be going every time My travels bring me to Phoenix. Thanks John! read more

Just finished our couples massage at Space Studio. John and Jessica did such an amazing job! The studio was peaceful, super clean, decorated to the nines, and both therapists were incredibly professional. We both currently feel like we are on cloud nine and could barely walk down the stairs to the car because we were so relaxed. We highly recommend! read more

Fantastic experience on a Saturday here at Space. Kayt was very professional and welcoming. She asked about what I wanted from the massage and I felt listened to. The massage itself was outstanding and consumed the entire booked time. Very relaxed and nicely appointed studio. I was looking for an experience between uptight resort and high turnover strip-mall, and Space Massage Studio fits in that sweet spot awesomely. I shall return! read more

I've had many deep tissue massages in my life. I do have to say. This is the best massage I have ever had. If there were more stars to give. I would. read more

I'm in town visiting my college aged kids. Since they are in class and I wouldn't get to see them for several hours, I decided I wanted a massage. I called and Jon got me right in. From first impression through leaving I'm impressed! His studio is peaceful, quiet, relaxing and very calming. My massage was incredible - therapeutic and relaxing - I didn't want it to end. He is an excellent, professional therapist in all regards. I'm grateful to see him once more before leaving town. Highly recommend! read more

I visited John last weekend after having done one too many burpees during my workout and was left with some lower back pain that barely allowed me to bend over. I found him on Yelp and the reviews sounded wonderful! I called on Friday afternoon and luckily John was able to get me in first thing the next morning. Amazingly, when I woke up the next morning, my back was about 90% better! Yippee! I thought about canceling the appointment since I was feeling so much better and saving the $$ but decided that since all the reviews were so fabulous on Yelp, I should go pamper myself a little bit. I have had a handful of massages in my life and I typically find massages just so-so regardless of the techniques. They always feel good but I've never been compelled to go back to a specific place because something felt incredible. I typically think a quick chair massage feels just as good to me as a full one hour massage. If I am going to go for a spa experience though, to me atmosphere is almost as important as the service so I really look for full experiences if I'm going to spend the money. When I arrived parking was plentiful since it was during the weekend and the studio is in a business complex. I must say, I would love to work in this building! Its very retro cool from what I saw on the short walk up the stairs to the second floor Space studio. It felt a little like something you would see in a movie. Maybe that's because I'm from the Midwest? Upon entering, I met John in the front room of the two room space and he warmly greeted me and we discussed what had happened to my back and my lifestyle. This discussion felt much different than what you typically get at any day spa or high end spa for that matter and felt more more like a treatment of the whole person rather than, 'what hurts and what pressure do you prefer?'. The space is very calm and comfortable. It was a bit intimidating at first being at a massage studio with seemingly no one around in the whole complex, with a man you just met and you are able to disrobe but based off other Yelpers reviews, I felt comfortable enough to go ahead with the massage. The back room is where the table is setup and the design feels warm and welcoming. The table was very comfortable and all through my massage, John put towels or pillows under certain areas to make sure I was as comfortable and as relaxed as possible. As other's have mentioned, the hot towels are a nice feature of the massage and I enjoyed those a lot. Throughout the massage it felt like he used various technics to help that specific area which was a welcomed new experience. It felt like he was actually paying attention to what each muscle needed individually rather than a canned performance throughout that you get at most places. As a whole, I can say the massage was one of the best I've ever had. I will say having my toes popped was new to me during a massage, and in general, and I'll probably request that be skipped next time. The massage oil had a very subtle scent that let me get through the rest of my morning and afternoon running around town without having to feel like I need a shower so that was nice as well. After the massage, I talked to John about his thoughts between yoga and Pilates since I work at a desk all day and my workouts are usually high intensity interval training sessions. He thought yoga would be more beneficial since I'm only really in full body relax mode when I'm sleeping so I'm looking forward to taking some classes at a studio he recommended close by my place! I think next time I'll plan a nice lunch at Postino's post massage with a glass of wine where I can enjoy my totally relaxed body. :) read more

Highly recommend!! 60 min massage with Kayt was amazing. I will be coming back to this massage studio as often as possible. Calming, clean and comfortable environment. Thank you, Space Massage. read more

Went for the first time, and I love it! I'm feeling so much more relaxed. My massage therapist was very professional! 10/10 would recommend.

Unique technique. Without giving away his tricks, I will say that John brings variety to the massage table and nicely blends strong with gentle leaving you feeling ooey gooey good. Unlike the traditional slightly dorky background music, his is hip and soothing. If you're looking for something a little different in a massage, he's your guy! read more

What do you say about a studio that has nothing but 5-star ratings? LOL. Well anyway ... I insist on adding to the heap. John was absolutely excellent from the time I booked the appointment to the time I left the studio. His demeanor is professional, caring, and warm. He exudes a unique energy that is felt in his hands as well - kind of a clean/respectful/inspiring masculine energy. I could sense that he had been in service to others for a long time and that he loved it, like a bartender or chef that really takes pride in his craft. I got the hot stone treatment and the aromatherapy. These two additions were like the icing on the cake - I recommend both to everyone. During my massage I experienced some spiritual enlightenment. I had specifically come to him on a spiritual journey and he was able to cater to this very seamlessly. He has a background in yoga and was open-minded to listening to my problem and helping determine things he could do (and things I could do to help me after the massage was over). I saw many visions of very comfortable almost exotic scenes during the massage, almost like pieces of art that were created in this dream state I found myself in. They appeared to further instill serenity, and mesh with the very cool energy that was already inherently in the room. I was reconnected with some very positive memories during the feeling of negative energy release that happened through his work too. I was just very impressed overall with what happened during the session, and I truly believe it was because of John's insistence of making the session "about you." He does have a knack for doing exactly that, and I was totally not expecting it. I will definitely be back for more. read more

I think my life has been changed. While visiting Phoenix, I decided I needed a massage to unwind from the daily stressors of life and toddlers. Best decision I've ever made! I was lucky enough to have John as my massage therapist. Not only did he give me the most mind blowing, body tingling, please don't ever stop massage, he had wonderful words of wisdom for how to refocus and reclaim some part of my core self, something I had forgotten I needed. The spa is hidden away in a pretty little building with no signage, and once you enter your mind is instantly put at ease. The beautiful aroma, relaxing music and calming decor is spot on. I will be back every time I visit Arizona. I may even be back specifically to get another massage from him. THE BEST! read more

Absolutely great experience last Thursday night for a 60 minute massage with John and my husband's massage with Stacy! We were their first customers to have massages in separate rooms at the same time in their new space...you never would have guessed it either! The atmosphere is serene and peaceful, the massage room and table were quite comfortable and the massage itself was therapeutic and quite relaxing. We'll definitely be back! read more

This place is completely amazing. After moving to Phoenix I used Yelp to find a good location to get deep tissue massages. The reviews have def stayed true to the experience. I have now visited Space Massage Studio four times been nothing but impressed during every visit here. I carry a lot of tension in my upper back and Stacey has been absolutely amazing using massage to help alleviate the pain in my upper back. Each time we've had a conversation about any issues I'm having and she's been able to zero in on those area.... working nothing short of magic! read more

I've had so many massages at so many places, it's been hard to find a massage therapist that really stands out in my mind, that is until I had my first massage with John. Professional, knowledgeable, and a true master at his craft, John manages to fix what ails me without making me cringe in pain. I am a hairstylist, and my neck, shoulders and hands suffer, in fact, I was close to seeing an orthopedic surgeon for my hands, but since my most recent massage with John, I have literally NO aching. He is absolutely a MUST, you will walk out feeling like a new person!!!!! Do it. Hurry. Off you go. Get yourself to Space and let John get you back in line! read more
