I am a 30 year old male with a receding hairline and she is able to cut my hair in such a way as to minimize the exposure. I chose this spa based on a Groupon that I found as I was celebrating my 50th birthday. OMG, I absolutely love Spa Logic and all of it's employee's, everyone was professional, they wore masks and gloves when required, they took my temperature, and had me fill out a paper stating I didn't have nor came in contact with Covid. I received a Swedish massage and my masseuse explained everything and talk with me about any spots that may needed extra attention. After my massage she escorted me to the beautiful waiting area where I waited for my next service, I received a facial and again I was asked about any face concerns. The facial was my first and I love the gentleness and the wonderful scents used. Next I was taked to the bottom level where I waiting for my nail tech, I received a gel manicure, pedicure and was offered, water, red or white wine. Went into the salon today with damaged and poorly colored hair looking for a light brown balayage. Tracey advised against it because she said my hair would get more damaged. I took her word for it and am so glad I did! She dyed my hair chocolate brown, gave me a fresh cut and now my hair looks SO much healthier and thicker. I started going to Spa Logic specifically for Garrett and I haven't regret it! I have 2a/2b wavy hair (depending on the day and how much my hair hates me) and it has always been a pain to deal with. Garrett has taken me through my shorter hair phase without making me look like a triangle and is now helping me in the process of growing out my bangs and the rest of my hair. I always love the cut and I know he understands how much a bad haircut can impact curly/wavy hair. He isn't tied to Deva Curl like some people, which means he helps you find the best products for your hair. The salon is accommodating (my hair requires more than an hour if I get it blow dried) and I love the scalp massage I get when my hair is being washed. Compared to most D.C. prices, Garrett is fairly reasonable and well worth the cost. If you have curly hair and haven't found someone who knows how to cut it, consider trying Garrett! read more

I went Spa Logic for the first time last week. I had an amazing experience. I have been trying to get my color back to normal for a year now. I have spent a lot of money in the process in addition to trying out several new salons. I found Spa Logic because it is in my neighborhood. After my consultation with the stylist, I felt confident she was going to fix my hair exactly how I had hoped. Sure enough, she not only fixed my hair but gave me the absolute best color yet with a sun, kissed and beachy look. I walked out feeling like a million dollars. I'm Not one to write reviews but after my experience here I feel compelled to. I booked a couples massage for my husband and I while we were on a weekend getaway, spa came recommend by our hotel and I'm still questioning why. The masseuse my husband had seemed great and he was happy but mine was terrible. She performed a form cupping on my back without even asking, causing me to have large marks all over my back. As if that wasn't bad enough, she also took it upon herself to explain to me (after touching my stomach) how to tighten my stomach muscles because I had mentioned I have 2 small children and my back is sore from picking them up all day. Highly unprofessional, wouldn't recommend at all! If I was looking for information on tightening my stomach muscles after having 2 pregnancies back to back I would seek help from a medical professional, not a masseuse! read more

Garrett = GENIUS. I was desperate to get my frizzy, curly hair under control ... not to mention that I was battling a terrible dye job. I never knew my hair could look so good. Like a lot of folks reviewing this salon, I was also new to DC when I came here. The salon hasn't been open that long and I believe they had some growing pains but they seem to be growing into it. Garrett is incredibly talented and very warm. I've had a couple of hiccups but they always seem to be committed to making it up. I've also found the stylists to be very collaborative - at one point another person helped Garrett dry my hair, and another time several of them gave advice on a product he'd never used before. That's a nice sense of "teamwork" that you don't see everywhere. The prices seem reasonable to me, but I'm coming from New York so they might be a bit expensive for DC. read more

Well I'm writing this review to let people know that Thomas Shelton is not working here anymore. I was looking on the internet for the best hair stylist in DC & Thomas Shelton was my answer in google. I call Spa Logic to make an appointment with him. The receptionist made the appointment for me, I thought I was going to get my hair done with Thomas Shelton at this place but a few mins after I hung up the phone I found out that he has his own hairs salon now. So my question is who was going to do my hair? if I specifically asked for a certain person. Then I had to call and cancel my appointment at Spa Logic. I had my haircut by Myly who did a wonderful job- I showed her a picture of what I was looking for and she cut it similarly, but in a way that would be low maintenance for someone with thick curly hair. She wasn't chatty, which I loved and was quick and thorough. I even got to try out a new Japanese deep conditioning line that was being sampled at the hair salon for free. I bought a Groupon to try it out and was very pleased with my experience here. I have long hair that I get pretty anxious about cutting, so I really like places that take the time to listen to what I want (low-maintenance cut, keeping the length). I went to Grace and although it wasn't a super complicated cut, she did a fabulous job. She listened to what I wanted and explained things along the way in terms of technique and what it would look like. I asked for long layers and she did a really great job with them (some of the best I've ever gotten). Not only that, but she was a complete sweetheart and I just felt really comfortable here. The only downside is the actual price for a women's cut for long hair. I bought the groupon, which I thought was pretty reasonably priced around $45 or so. I guess the normal price is usually around $75 (which is what I tipped on), but if I were paying the normal price plus tip, I just don't know if a ~$100 haircut is worth it when all I really ever ask for is a trim and shaping up some of my long layers. I would definitely take another look at Spa Logic (and Grace!) next time I need to get my haircut, but if there weren't a deal or a reduction in price, I would probably look to go elsewhere which is a bummer b/c the service and cut was great. read more

I was given a groupon as a birthday gift for a massage, mani/pedi and a facial. I upgraded the facial to an organic facial. The lady that did my facial was great. I've had facials at other salons and they were not like this. She extracted all black heads and educated me on things I should do for my skin type. I never had a face massage like she did it. She trained in Denmark, which I feel is one reason. The environment was tranquil. She was great. I recommend her. Henry did my nails, he did a good job. I think I found a new nail tech. Parking can be tricky but there is metered parking and valet parking garage right there. I had a good experience and I will be going back. read more

Myly is fantastic! I've been going to Myly for a year and she's done great summer, fall and winter hair for me. She is current with the latest trends and colors and knows exactly what color and style would look good on different face shapes and skin color. I also continually go to her for eyelash extensions. This was my second time to the salon. I received Reflexology, Swedish Massage, Full Set w/ matching color on my toes. The staff is almost nice. They are not rude, but they do not smile and did not remember my name even after I spent all day and over $200. I had to repeat it at least six times to the hostesses; the service providers did not even ask. The massage and reflexology areas are not quiet. I heard music from other massage rooms and dance music from downstairs. My massage went from being too hard to too soft. I think the person thought I asked for a deep tissue massage. The worst part during the reflexology was that other employees kept coming in and out of the room, talking, and slamming doors. Unbelievable. The nail salon in the basement is suffocating. Between the fumes and the wine, I was higher than I have been since undergrad. Nail technician did not speak to me and abruptly told me when I was done. No salutation or inquiry into whether I was satisfied with the work. read more

I asked for a trim and she dutifully only trimmed it - instead of taking off inches and saying it's a trim (which I've had happen to me many times before). I purchased a Groupon for Spa Logic (facial, massage, manicure and pedicure) and was excited to go based on some pretty good reviews. However, my experience didn't live up to some of those mentioned on Yelp.. Here's a recap: -Arrived early to the 1pm appointment, but was not seen until 1:25pm (not a huge deal as it was a Sunday and I didn't have any other commitments that day) -Massage was first, so I filled out the paperwork (confirmed not pregnant, confirmed any injuries, named problem areas, areas I'd like the masseuse to focus on, etc.) after entering the room. However, when the masseuse came in, she did not reference the paperwork, so I had to tell her multiple times not to massage certain areas because of injury or pain. She also did not minimize pressure when I asked her several times due to sensitivity/tenderness. She spent most of the time on my back (probably 40 min of the 50 min massage) and nearly scolded me after realizing time was almost up (pretty sure I wasn't supposed to be keeping track of time!) since I had so many knots in my back. Im also pretty sure the "knots" were actually a result of me cringing because of pain! She ended the massage with my feet, which was actually the area I requested focus on via the unread paperwork. That part did feel great, although she did crack my leg bones without warning, which I did not like. It's normal to feel sore in your muscles after a massage, but four days later I really am in pain. A bruised pain, not muscle pain like a typical massage. -Then it was time to move onto the facial. The masseuse told me to put on a robe and meet in the spa lobby, which is really just a couch in the hallway. There were only size S robes, though, so after trying on all three options, I just put my normal clothes back on. (I'm not a size S). Before I could exit the massage room, however, she entered the room again (without knocking) and nearly yelled at me for not wearing a robe. I told her that none of them were the right size and at that point she calmed down and let me move on.. I was a bit annoyed by that point, so I'm sure that came through via my tone. -The facial was fine, but the facialist did try to upcharge me $40 for a fruit and veggie facial. The facial itself was pretty typical - did a couple masks, a face massage, steam, etc. I wasn't expecting it to hurt so much though when she removed clogged pores. I have generally clear skin too. When the facial ended, she told me to get dressed (I had changed into a cover up once entering the facial room) and she'd walk me downstairs to the nail salon for the mani/pedi. I thought it was pretty weird though that she didn't leave the room after asking me to change. I didn't mind too much, since it was just putting a bra and top back on, but still, didn't feel comfortable with her staying in there as I changed. -The mani/pedi was as expected. I was rushed picking out a color because they were busy that day, which was sort of annoying. The Groupon included a complementary glass of wine, but I never received or was offered that. The pedicure was fine, however I wish she did a better foot massage (remember? I barely got one in the normal massage!). The manicure was fine too (I upgraded to gel), but I had to ask several times for her to continue filing because it was really messy and uneven. She also didn't really give a hand massage, I think because I got gel nails? Not sure why that would matter though. Four days later, my nails still look good. All in all, this place was just "fine." I'd never pay full price for the spa services here though. You can find cheaper and likely nicer (in terms of staff - the physical space was fine) around town. read more

I've been a client of Thomas' for a long, long time! What can I say about this amazing stylist? He's a great listener....always open to what I'm thinking about doing. He's got great ideas, too, and will share them with you. He's an amazing colorist and pretty handy with the scissors, too. He styles my daughter's hair as well and she LOVES what he does with her hair. She's participated in several of his hair shows and he's been like a big brother to her - very protective which, as her mom, I appreciate so much. If you want a stylist who is a great listener, will offer suggestions to compliment what you are trying to achieve, I can't recommend Thomas Shelton more highly. I telephoned this morning to try and reschedule a massage. I am English and have a strong accent. However, the way the front desk staff dealt with me was way below acceptable standards. Repeatedly told "I don't understand you", then I was firmly told the cancellation policy and i wasn't even offered a rescheduled time. I find the upstairs front desk to be rather difficult to deal with. However, the services they offer are GREAT! if you can handle an annoyingly rude front desk reception, this is a great place for a massage, nails etc... One tip enter at the nail salon entrance, the front staff there are excellent. Unfortunately, I won't be returning to Spalogic. read more
