However, now they barely pick up the phone if I'm even lucky to get a person to respond, they take several days to respond to emails even when they are urgent needs for repairs, and their prices have shot up significantly. I have mixed reviews of Southwest Electric. My installation was GREAT! Good communication, fast response. After the installation came my complaints. Sales said, everything is covered. Your system will be covered as long as you're financing. We help monitor the system and will help you with troubleshooting and repair. After, their response is...it is spelled out in the contract. We don't monitor. If you want to troubleshoot an issue, we can come out...for $350. The parts are covered under warranty, but that does not include labor. So my advise, if you want a good installation experience, you can use them....but take the contract to an attorney, record every conversation, keep you attorney involved, and if you dont want to do that, use another company. read more

Poor service. Failed inspection 3 times before passing finally. Had no circuits wired into the battery but told me otherwise. Undersized and unsafe breaker for the system. STAY AWAY. I had to call someone else out to diagnose an issue (they said they don't do that anymore) and can't get them to call me back to honor the service. read more

Since my last review I called the City of Phoenix and was told they had failed a third inspection.The clerk I spoke with said that Southwest Electrical Contractors has not submitted documentation requested by the City of Phoenix and that there was 5 items that needed to be repaired .My wife received an Email from APS that said the window for submission of required documentation for electrical hookup was expiring and needs to be scheduled before the expiration date.These guys think that they are unaccountable and above the law.Since my last posting I have contacted Southwest Electrical several times but have received no response. I have filed a complaint with the Attorney Generals office for consumer fraud and hope that they are going to be held accountable and are forced out of business.These guys are incompetent thieves. read more

I had Southwest Electric install my solar a few year ago. I have been so pleased with my electricity production. I have a very small bill several months out of the year and that's it! They explained how to get the most out of my system and tax credits. The guys were friendly and professional. From my experience, this company knows what they are doing. No BS, explained any and all fees regarding solar, solar rates with SRP (and how they compare to APS). Explained how the financing works vs. Leasing and ultimately gave us the choice on what we thought was better, not pushing one way or another. Only negative thing I can say is they did mention that if for some reason the inverter went out after 60 days I believe it was, it would be covered under manufacturer warranty, but they charge a "call out" or was it a "roll out" fee of $150. But considering the last company I got a quote from was about $4000 more, more knowledgeable, and more up front, I'm willing to pay that IF I happen to have a inverter go out. read more

jason odle lied about paying me my electrical bill if my solar isnt done in the promised time. and it took them almost a year to get my solar done. hes no longer with the company (conviently) southwest electric is attached to them. go save yourselves time, money and betrayal, and go with a better comany then these ones. also after 2 months of my solar finally being up and running, something failed and i hear electrical sounds coming from the electrical box they installed (very dangerous) and its been almost 2 weeks and no one has came out to address the issue after many calls and emails. now i have to pay aps and solar and no one is willing to cover the costs! i will never reccomened them to anyone! read more

Southwest Electric and Ultra Energy AZ are in business together. Below is what I wrote regarding Ultra Energy AZ. You decide if you want to do business with them. "1 star is too high for them. Don't trust anything they say regarding financing and the added value to your home. Verify it for yourself. Do your research. If you sign anything that seems like a loan like we did, know that this will be a secured loan, i.e. that there will be a lien put on your property. Solar panels can only add value to your home if they are paid for in full or are financed through a credit card, not a loan. They bent the facts to serve their purpose, i.e. getting our business. Afterwards, the owner told us he never lied and that you initialed everything, i.e. you should have known better and to "Talk to my lawyers". Ultra Energy AZ and their representatives distorted the truth." read more

Southwest Electric & Ultra Energy AZ are not reputable companies. They did a horrible job following up with our complaints about the installation delays and the poor installation job at the power box. We purchased the solar system in April 2019 so that our summer utilities would be covered by the solar power. The installation began the last part of May and was finished a couple of weeks later. Once the installation was completed, our contract allowed us two months before our solar payments would start. This would have been fine if the system would have been up and running after two months, but it wasn't and we were going to have to make payments on both the solar installation (which wasn't operational) and the utilities. I brought this problem to the job foreman, Samuel, and he promised that they would cover the cost of the utility bills until the solar was up and running and we would only have to make the monthly solar payments. When we presented the first utility bill for payment to Zach (from Ultra Energy AZ), he claimed that Samuel had only promised that they would pay the $250 solar payment, not the almost $500 utility payment. My wife argued the point with him saying that Zach was wrong and Samuel did promise to pay the utility bill, not the solar payment, as that was the point in our getting solar in our new house. Zach told her that she was "disrespecting him" and left in anger (bad customer relation skills). I called Samuel and he did make this part of his promise right for two months. However, they did not keep their word to us and failed to make the last two payments, which we had to make. This really affected our budget. The solar was finally connected on Sept. 18th after almost 4 months of headaches. Samuel never came back as promised to help us with the install and use app for our smart phones. Regarding the installation, it appeared that their people had little experience in making the job look professional (lots of hardware left lying around in my yard and broken pieces of roof tile, etc.) I complained about the sloppy installation of electrical boxes on the side of the house, and when the technician who installed the boxes came back to repair his poor work (I am giving him a lot of latitude even calling him a technician) he did nothing to make it look professional. We live in a neighborhood where the HOA rules lay out how electrical boxes need to be finished aesthetically and there was no way that the work would be acceptable, so I will have to have it corrected or do it myself. I can't imagine how many mistakes were made up on the roof, and am hoping for the best there. The City of Peoria electrical inspector had to come out on several occasions and would not sign off on the installation because things weren't done to code and wrong parts were used in the electrical connection. While all of this was going on, our electric range in the kitchen stopped working and we had to call our home warranty people to send a technician out to repair it. We found out after having to wait for another electrician to come out and look at the system that some of the wires in the 400 amp breaker box were not terminated properly and our range only had one leg of power going to it. And on and on it went. Overall, this was a very bad experience and I believe that I will have to deal with the fallout from this for a while. I'm pretty sure that Zach was untruthful (lied) about how the IRS tax credits would give us enough money to buy down our payments to the $250 rate. I expect to have to deal with that over the next two years with my tax accountant. The really bad part of this whole thing is that he and Thomasa, the girl who came to our house with him, claimed to be born-again Christians who were acting in integrity. I don't doubt their piety, but that should never be used to convince someone of your honesty and integrity, which they have little to none of either. read more
