South side Diner is located in a plaza in Riverside / Locust point with plenty of available parking. I came in on a Wednesday mid morning and there was parking available in the row right by the diner. The waitstaff is very friendly and upbeat! I was able to get seated immediately by just picking out a booth and this place was popular! I thought with it being described as a diner that this might be a classic 50s style decor but this place is just a super casual dining set up. Two eggs w turkey sausage 3.5/5, I wanted a relatively big American breakfast so I ordered 2 scrambled eggs, turkey sausage (2), rye bread (4 slices) and applesauce. This meal was BIG and exactly what I was going for as I'm on the carb loading part of my meal schedule. The price for this is around $12 which is very good for the amount of food offered. I did like this meal and at the same time I think it was relatively average which is what I was expecting. I would order this again. Before tip this + a plain hot tea (Lipton) came out to around $16 which was excellently priced. I can see why this place is popular for their prices alone.

They are doing a lot of things right here. The service was welcoming friendly enough when we came through the door. We sat at the bar. We ordered our food and they kept the house coffee coming which was pretty good while we waited. Our food was ready quickly. The portion sizes here are great for the price! My omelette was packed with toppings and cooked the way I like it. The potatoes here are amazing! Nice and filling with a perfect texture. The only negative strike was that my toast was cold. I would certainly recommend this location and come back.

No complaints at all. The inside was smalls but the service was quick and efficient The food was amazing , the service was beyond great , and the overall wait time sit and eat was little to none. I definitely would come back for the south side breakfast sampler ... it was delicious !!!

This restaurant was a bit difficult to find, none the less we finally found it in the plaza. A landmark store is 5 Below. I hope that helps. We entered and were told to sit anywhere. Very soon after, the server got our drinks. The menu is nice and large with plenty of good, basic dishes. Breakfast all day. There are not a lot of frills. 4 tv's on the walls, all muted. Seating is basic but good enough to accommodate. We ordered a corn beef sub with Swiss ($0.95 upcharge). It was stuffed with plenty of meat. Also, a chicken parmesan sub. Both of these came with chips. You have the option to change from chips to French fries or onion rings, you guessed it, for an upcharge. Have to give credit where credit is due. The c/b sub had good quality meat, and for both subs, the bread part was very fresh. The chicken was very good as well, not your typical freezer meat. It had decent sized strips of chicken under the breading. The tomato sauce was just right. I asked for hot pepper flakes ( I like a little heat), and the server had no idea what I was asking for. She did accommodate by bringing over a small dish of hot pepper relish. I tried it, and it really gave the sub a boost. The chips were a bit of a letdown, a bag of UTZ chips. Oh no! That was not what I was expecting. We might be back if in the area. The service was right on top of things, very pleasant staff. There is plenty of free parking.

This restaurant is in a shared plaza shopping center. There is plenty of free parking. We went early in the morning so getting a table was no wait and service was quick and efficient. The food is decent a bit greasy but not more than you would expect at a diner. The bacon was thick which I like. The potatoes could have had a little more crunch but overall the food is good. There were clearly lots of regulars based on the interactions I saw.

I had a really good time at Southside Diner this morning. In Baltimore for an appointment, the Wife & I were in the mood for breakfast, and Southside was one of the diners in the area. It's Yelp rating & reviews made me eager to see if it was all hype, and I'm glad to see that it wasn't. This is a no frills diner that has no shortage of patrons, from the locals to about 10 police officers who were there enjoying their breakfast when I arrived. The coolest part is our food came extremely fast. My Wife loved her Veggie omelette and I was equally as thrilled with my Scrapple egg & cheese, grits and home fries. I'm never on this side much, but whenever I am, I've added Southside diner to my list of places I need to return.

Food: I ordered the after workout breakfast, and 5 hours later I am still satisfied with my meal. It comes with six scrambled egg whites, your choice of meat, hash browns, and toast. After a barre class and this was exactly what I needed to recover from the workout. Service: Fast, friendly service. You can substitute sides for another option! Always a plus! Ambiance: The vibe is a traditional American diner. You can sit at the counter, booth or a four top. It's very busy on a Saturday morning and it can get a bit loud, but it is worth the wait.

The complete staff over at Southside diner made my dining experience amazingly enjoyable on my birthday 2/27. This was my first time visiting this establishment. The online reviews were an amazing 4.7 stars out of five and I had to go and find out why. As soon as I entered the building I was greeted with a huge smile and a proper greeting. Hospitality is so lost in today's world. That really put me at ease. And even though it was raining outside, there was plenty of sunshine inside from the staff that made my morning drive there a huge success. My entire breakfast was delicious and even my to go wrap to take home for later. The atmosphere and ambiance was amazing also and exactly like a traditional diner should look and sound like Great job all. I'll definitely be back ASAP!

Old school diner where the owner knew most of the customers. In fact, he was wandering around the dining room chatting with just about everyone. Our party of three ordered a Reuben sandwich, French dip sandwich, and a contraption known as the Tillman Tower. The Reuben was good, not the best I ever had. But I liked the reasonable corned beef to bread ratio. I hated a Reuben with insane amount of corned beef. The beef of the French dip was not as tender as my wife would like. But the beef jus was full of flavor. The Tillman Tower consisted of creamed chipped beef over bread and topped with two over easy eggs. My oldest daughter loved the dish. She said it was very similar to sausage gravy over biscuits and eggs. Prices were inexpensive considering the quality of the food. Table service was friendly and quick. Mrs and I will definitely return to try breakfast.

There are alllllllllllllllllllways people heading into this place. I'm talking people just materialising from every direction, coming way from across the parking lot...and you never see them come out until they've eaten or gotten their food even if it's packed! The one time O went in I was blown away by the amount of people this place fits, the absolute blast of high energy early in the morning (absolutely refreshing) and the wonderful interaction with the woman who takes orders at the front. I've only had the BLT (twice) mostly because each time my husband has taken me I figured something quick would be best to order AND LET ME TELL YOU (please refer to attached picture) for just a BLT I'm still blown away. Nice thick bacon, they don't skimp on the amount either--none of that two pieces folded in half. Two perfectly sized tomatoes and the perfect amount of Romaine lettuce (sorry iceberg lovers) on perfectly and I mean perfectly toasted (rye) bread. 10/10 will definitely come back for more than a sandwich next time.

The protein and buckwheat pancakes were nice surprises on the menu and were quite tasty. The neighborhood has a dearth of true weekday breakfast places, and this is a nice option. The Maryland Cab soup was good, with a lot of crab and a decent amount of spiciness. I had a French dip type sandwich with fries. I asked for my fries to be extra crispy, they were served kind of soggy and cold. The au jus for my sandwich was literally cold. That said, the food was basic but good. This is a standard decent diner. I don't know what the reviewer who said this place is in "the hood" is talking about. It's on a well-lit strip of road with car dealerships all over. My only distaste is that they used regular bread rather than brioche for their French toast. The flavor on the French was amazing, it's topped with a cinnamon sugar butter.
