Such a fun place to take your family to just be in a fun uplifting atmosphere with toys, patterns and colors on every corner of the space. It's the best place to play eye spy. We had a party of 5 and the food came out just in time. Our server was very friendly. I ordered an omelet and it was a pretty average omelet. It wasn't the best omelet I've ever had. Loved the taste of goat cheese and veggies. The hash browns were okay as well. This is a diner and I think that for a diner is a great and fun place to go with friends and family! This place was recommended by a friend and me and my family were treated terribly. I have a family of 5 and they sat us at a 4 person table even though there was space at some tables behind that. The service was slow, the food wasn't very good and to top it off they added a large party gratuity of 20% making our breakfast for 5 people $174.00. I just looked at my wife and said I'll pay it and never come back. I had two other friends tell me it's probably because I had on a Calvert Hall hoodie and they probably thought I would be snobby or something. Either way terrible experience. 0/10 read more

After years of putting off my visit to Papermoon, I finally decided to take a surprise trip with my nephew. Since I knew eating a diner with so much fun stuff enrobing you would be up his alley. We stopped in on a late Sunday morning for breakfast and was lucky enough to not have to wait to be seated. Our server was nice, giving us a moment to decide what we wanted to nosh on while pointing out all the little trinkets covering the walls and ceiling. I opted for the Shrimp and Grits and my nephew settled on the Chocolate Chip Pancakes. The food was delicious. A generous amount of shrimp in the shrimp and grits adorned with some very creamy grits and a sauce chock full of veggies and tasso ham. My nephews stack of pancakes was soft and pillowy to which he devoured. My only gripe were the prices. I felt the pricing for some of the items, particularly the pancakes, were a little pricey. Three pancakes with no additional sides for $17.95 is pretty steep in my opinion. Next time I'll probably do a la carte to get a full meal at the same price of just three pancakes. A D O R A B L Y eclectic! Sensory overload but in such a GOOD way! First thing to rave about is their private parking ... made me an immediate fan. The menu and ambience would make me return. The actual food ... not so much. I hate when the food just completely blows it for me. We didn't like the fries, the burgers, the tofu wrap, the pulled pork ... *sigh* Where was the seasoning? Not a hint of salt, pepper, or advertised hoisin. The service was decent. I don't handle being uncomfortable too well. We got the feeling this is for locals only and that's not a good feeling. I can definitely say that the service at paper Moon is excellent and very fast. They definitely got us in and out for lunch. Our food came out to the table in probably 10 minutes or less from us ordering it. It's a very small place so they definitely can't play around with turning your table over. The restaurant has a hodgepodge of different knickknacks all over its walls and ceilings so there's a lot to look at. You can check out my pictures. I ordered the bananas foster French toast and it was good. I would say it was excellent if my French toast was hot, but I'm just one of those people who prefer my food to come out hot. The French toast was lukewarm. My son did enjoy his Caesar salad, garlic bread and chicken alfredo. I had an afternoon train back to NYC after a work conference and saw a bunch of reviews about this place. It's very busy on the outside with all of these unique and colorful pieces, trinkets and collector items the owner must've curated throughout their life. I got a sandwich and it was good. I think all of the decorative trinkets, weird dolls, old school toys, the massive pez collection and the other quirky items are the draw here. The food was good but idk if I'd call the menu super memorial. A really nice experience but I don't know if it's a place I'd go back to if I had some other options for brunch. This is a warm and inviting city favorite. Definetely recommend this place to try breakfast or lunch. It's too much of a zoo to make me want to be a regular though. No reservations and a bit tight inside. Neither of those I mind, it's very cozy and I see why they don't take reservations. Pancakes were perfection. Server seemed confused, new, and out of it. Part of their concept is there's no set servers for each table, they have a different person bring out the food vs the receipt. Their interior is really interesting, lots of trinkets outside, on the walls, and the ceiling. After reading reviews about the service on Yelp, I almost didn't come & they were sadly correct but at least the food was tasty & the atmosphere was eclectic. When I arrived, it was almost 2 pm & the dining room was nearly empty & I asked for a window seat but it was refused as I'm a party of 1. Regardless, the whole time I was there, most of those tables remained open. If that wasn't enough, I also asked my waiter for water with no ice & lemon. He forgot the lemon & added ice anyways. During service, my drink never got filled without request & my other drink showed up later, as if he forgot I ordered it. The food was very tasty & the atmosphere is eclectic. If the staff could be more service oriented, this place could rock. But instead I'd say go somewhere else unless you don't need good service & just want an eccentric food experience. A wonderful lunch for my brother's graduation! As an undergrad (almost 10 years ago!) I've been here several times, but it was nice to introduce Papermoon to my family. As impossible as it seems, the quality has only gone up since I was in college. All of us were beyond satisfied, and customer service was excellent! My mom is vegetarian so she loved her veggie burger and my brothers loved their picks too. One of my brothers got the Egg Monte Cristo, which he raved about. The other got the banana foster French toast and loved it. I got the Monte Cristo sandwich & a soda which didn't disappoint, and gave me leftovers for 3 days! I also got the brownie sundae as well which was good but personally wouldn't get again, a bit pricey. In total I spent $45 including tip which seems high but I got a drink, entree and dessert. In this economy $30-40 seems to be the median range nowadays. Overall I would highly recommend and I would visit again! read more

This was my first time visiting. It's a great eclectic space, I love the decor! I ordered the avocado milkshake & jerk chicken quesadilla. The milkshake tasted really good, my only criticism was it needed to be blended longer. Some pieces of avocado were too chunky to be sucked up the straw. The chicken in the quesadilla was definitely over cooked & dried out. The seasoning itself & portions were great. Service was ok, the server wasn't the happiest, no smiles, have a nice day etc. I would go back, as the visual experience is great! I would not order anything with chicken just to play it safe & would try a different flavor of milkshake, hopefully one with fewer big chunks in. My fiance had the omurice omelette was also good, servings size is plenty big. The environment/interior is of course the biggest feature that stands out and it's entertaining to see what they have up if you haven't been before. Overall - solid diner. A truly quirky, fun, one of a kind place. If you want fresh, good, home cooking being served out of the funkiest joint you've ever seen. Look no further than the Paper Moon. The place is covered floor to across the ceiling with odds and ends of times gone by. My partner and I played I spy while we waited for our food and it was so much fun. (Look don't touch please) The waiters were really attentive to us and served everything really quickly and got our food out to us quickly. And the food itself was so freaking good. I wish I had room for everything but the portions were huge. It can get busy here, as it's a tourist destination. But we're locals and came at 10 on a Saturday and had literally no wait. Papermoon Diner definitely delivers on the quirky front. We debated at what point an obsession with weird stuff / hoarding becomes a collection that people will come to see and enjoy while you eat. It's a borderline thing. But the food here is tasty. Service is at the pace it's at, so don't arrive starving. Also they won't seat groups larger than 6 together. It's good to come in with a plan for seating in groups of 4-6 split around the room. All in all I'm glad we came and I enjoyed my lunch! read more

I got the 'Grilled Cheese with Mango Chutney' which was grilled multigrain bread, havarti, mango chutney, caramelized onions, & spinach. I agree with my husband... best meal we had in Maryland. It was super flavorful and that mango chutney was just delicious. The menu is a good size which lots of options. Now I know where some of my old toys and games disappeared, probably by some gremlin in the middle of the night. Anyway... the menu has both traditional and eclectic options. I wanted to consider the bacon milkshake, just because, but the need for coffee was stronger. My group got a variety of breakfast and lunch items. Everything was delicious, and everything came out quickly. I do feel that for the price you pay on various entrees, you certainly get more for your money with certain choices over others, especially given the cost of the ingredients to prepare them. Staff attitude was slightly inconsistent. Our host had a difficult time managing a smile when we interacted, but everyone else was filled with humor and wit and banter, and it was a pleasure to be served by them. Pez dispenser bathroom - enough said. Paper moon is a hipster dive diner in Remington. It's a neighborhood and Baltimore staple. You'll notice from the entrance it looks like a consignment shop. This was only my second time in and was glad to see it was still very busy on a Sunday afternoon. They don't offer booze here it's a classic diner fare with a Balitmore twist. I got the sausage gravy and brioche with a side of home fries and my Texas heart was happy. The coffee was slightly cold but good. I swear they used to have biscuits but they don't anymore. Last time we came, we paid at the register but now they will take payment at your table. The decorations are fun to look at. You won't go wrong by coming here for a diner breakfast.
