Was exploring bars in Bethlehem and came to visit here. Was not even greeted when I sat down. The wait staff and bartender couldn't be more than 20 years old so that means inexperienced in hospitality. I witnessed no sanitary practices being done by any of the staff. I saw them on their phones, whilst touching and stocking straws used for customers drinks, while eating in front of customers right at the bar. No hand washing whatsoever. I literally saw one girl dip a chip in sour cream and then grab a bunch of straws to stock it, touching all the tips of the straws where customers drink from! The decor inside was really nice and decked out for the holidays. Didn't order any food just drinks but I was not impressed whatsoever by what I witnessed. That is beyond disgusting. If I can notice this then I'm sure many others have noticed, too. read more

Cute little bar! The server was friendly and hilarious, nice Halloween decorations, and the food was great. Food was very overpriced for the quality of the ingredients used compared to all the great places on the north side of Bethlehem. Burger and toppings were fresh but served on a low quality bun. Fries were also cheap and low quality you wouldn't expect at this price point. Drink prices and cocktails were great, however, the bar service is not good (unless you're a select crowd). My friend picked out this restaurant after noticing it in the "Hot and New" list for Bethlehem. Even before walking in I knew there would be a great atmosphere inside... awesome decorations and a really cool take on the industrial vibe for a pub. Once inside the bar was packed but to my surprise there weren't many people eating at the tables in the back. Initially, I was worried I was in for "bar-food"... but the more we spoke to the waiter the more i fell in LOVE with the entire concept at Southside 313. I had 1/2 a pulled pork burger, 1/2 a peppercorn burger, Mac-n-cheese and tasted one of their 313 balls (fried potato, shrimp & cheese balls). BUT WHAT REALLY bumps this from a 3.5 to 4 star review was the owners moms RUM CAKE. OMGAHHHH. I was SO full I was ready to shoo away the waiter at the mention of dessert, but the way he talked about the rum cake made it impossible to resist. There was not a CRUMB left on that plate. YOU NEED THE RUM CAKE. ORDER IT! Overall, I hope this place takes off! Really great concept with an awesome atmosphere. They are supporting local farmers/produce and the owners mom makes the BEST RUM CAKE EVER. read more

Last time I was at this joint it was Looper's. I'm not sure when it changed hands (I don't get out to bars much since I have kids) but it had the same sort of feel...but more chill. They had cool twinkle lights criss-crossing above the bar which I thought looked neat...they have AWESOME art hanging around the walls. The reason I was out was to see a friends band play. They are a 5 piece band and rocked it. There was a pretty decent crowd. I'm not sure if this is the kind of place for bigger bands because of the size of the place, but who am I to judge. I think it would be cool with low key performances...like acoustic guitar players and singers. The drinks were usual pricing. A vodka soda was like $4 or so and wine ranged from $6-8ish bucks. They have a back patio which was nice but it was a random chilly July night so no one was hanging out there. There is also a full menu but I didn't eat there so I have nothing to say about the cuisine. Looked like general bar food and beyond. Seemed like a chill place, Looper's used to seem shi-shi so this is a nice change for normal people. read more

Ordered the "Not your Moms Deviled Eggs" and a House Salad - I think they scraped the onions off of their Smoked Salmon dish, cause I feel like I ate a Lox Bagel - Salad was really sorry. Have an ok selection of beer, their hamburgers look excellent on the menu but unfortunately I didn't have the opportunity to have one - will make a point of it next time. Prices are high IMO. Bartender seemed kind of overwhelmed, for the amount of people there - typical you're not a regular so ah you might might not be important but we'll take your money and don't forget the 20% tip experience. Owner or manager was a little standoffish, maybe a bad day? I might try this place again, might not - wasn't bad, wasn't great. Hope they succeed, only time will tell. I'm in town tonight for the Avett Brothers concert at The Stacks and stopped in here to pre-game. It should be noted that with the humidity today the outside temperature feels like 100 degrees. Once inside I noticed that there was a pretty good sized crowd, most of them being in town for the concert. The bar sits approximately 20 customers and then they have a rail across from that that will hold about 20 more. On top of all that they have several tables and booths - a good sized joint. Well, on this particular night their AC unit could not keep up with the outside temps. Furthermore, there was one bartender on shift and she was working very hard to keep up with the demand and kept smiling the entire time. We ordered an appetizer (corned beef egg rolls) and two platters (cheeseburger and grilled chicken wrap). We were nervous about the food due to the hectic atmosphere, but I have to admit that the food was very good. This place receives my 5-Star rating based on the barmaid's awesome attitude under pressure as well as the kitchen's expertise. I will definitely stop here again the next time I am in town P.S. - their Happy Hour (4-6 PM) has very good specials. read more

Going with five stars because I have met the owners and have visited six or seven times. Food is very good, and the place is populated with wonderful people. I have only snacked on the food but it is clearly better than what was there before. Highly recommended for meeting friends and getting a bite before or after a south side event. Last night, had the pork tacos and they were delicious. Everything is made from scratch (except the fries) and the freshness is evident. Pork is roasted and pulled each day and the soft shell tortillas were nicely grilled. The flavors were mild and well blended. read more

Great place. Well decorated and maintained while still being chill and casual. Never had anything that wasn't yummy. Owners are very friendly as is the staff. Went here last night for a late dinner around 9pm. Food was meh. I got the black bean burger and it was certainly a good fix after a long day of travel, very filling, but not super tasty. My mom got a half salad that was HUGE (not sure how big the full salad would be!). The dressing on her salad was very good. We also got the fried pickles which had dill in the batter yet were sweet pickles.. inventive, yes, but I'm not sure if it translated into a good dish. The mayo sauce was good. Service was a 3/10 but it was late at night so maybe they were tired. It took forever for her to get us our check, and we could see her folding silver wear without checking to see that we were ready to pay. A big plus was that it was cheep! A good deal for a good amount of food. Overall, a good space with a cute idea, maybe just don't expect much for late night. However, the bar looked great and I imagine we might have had a better experience had we sat there! read more

This is southside 313 it is a truly decent location. The foods alright, the drinks are good, and the service is less than sub par. This is third occasion at the establishment and I am not impressed. I made a reservation and was not seated for half and hour with no line at the door. If they got their stuff together I would be here every weekend. read more

Stopped here on a whim after work and we were actually so impressed we came back 6 days later. The food is surprisingly good - they may even have one of the best burgers in the Valley. (Juicy, perfectly cooked, flavorful, great toppings, fab roll, and oh, did I mention juicy? Juicy.) Whatever is going on in the kitchen the quality is well above your normal bar food for this area but they're playing it very low key. Menu is somewhat small but there's a good mix of items. Everything seems to be homemade from the fried pickles to the seriously amazing mac & cheese with ham. Nice drinks/wine list, and the prices all around very reasonable, especially for Bethlehem these days. We had 1 app, 2 sandwiches, 4 drinks and the bill was around $64. The service is super nice and drinks were refilled quickly. Be aware the place is small: Handful of large 4-6 person booths and about 6 2tops along a banquette which can be moved together or apart to accommodate different size parties. Some minor downsides: It's Seat Yourself and as mentioned, small. If there's no tables I guess you just sit at the bar. (I felt guilty snagging a booth when it was only 2 of us and took a table instead, but others apparently didn't share in my attack of conscience.) Also, it's kind of bright in there when sitting at the booths. Funky light fixtures but the wattage made it feel like diner-type lighting. It seems a little dimmer at the tables. Lastly, the burger is so juicy the paper lining the bottom of your basket is going to fall apart and turn to mush. Get a side plate. Or stay away, even better, because I want to be able to get a table next Friday night. read more

I used to stop here after getting my Monthly haircut. Servers were friendly and I liked the spicey PB wings Came in about 2 Months ago, sat at the bar. 2 bartenders completely ignored me for 10 minutes. One was entering sales reports on the system I think, but no acknowledgement that I was even there. No "hello" or "we'll be right over" Eventually a party of 6 walked in and was immediately greeted. We went there with a party of six last weekend and we were thoroughly impressed. First is the service. We were served by this great gentleman who hit the perfect balance of being social and efficient. He seemed really into getting to know what brought us here while still taking down everyone's order promptly Second, the food. We had fried pickles and nachos for starters and the servings were easily enough for a large group. The burgers are the best in the south side hands down (get the Q burger, no regrets). The drinks are a little pricey but it's still a great bang for your buck Finally the environment. The Southside really needed a bar that can be a little more than the local dive without feeling like a snooty NY wanna-be and I think it's finally found it's savior. I was only ever at Loopers once or twice. They redecorated, and the patio out back has a nice new pergola and tables. The menu is also different. Pretty simple stuff, which I appreciate because they do it well. The bacon mac n cheese is delicious, and their burgers are great, especially with Bill's pickles. The one thing that hasn't changed since it was Loopers is the bartender Timmy, and that's a good thing. Cool guy, good service, fun to chat with. Not bad but not great. I had the sriracha chicken skewers which were pretty good then later I had the 313 balls which were decent. Not a huge beer selection and more ipa's than anything. 313 is a must even just for the drinks! Pickletini is absolutely wonderful. The owner makes his own spicy pickles and bartender Erin makes a delightful libations. We've tried 3-4 others on their signature cocktail list and weren't disappointed. Erin's incredibly fun to chat with and her playlists are also a wonderful change from the top 20 hits playlist at other bars. We haven't had much on the food menu to make a strong opinion. read more

Visited after working a long day at a local holiday event so we didn't want a heavy meal. Good beer selection and cocktails (IPA and cucumber mint gin ricky). We shared nachos and fried pickles. Both were good for a bar food. I think they said everything is make in house. Nachos from the fryer and the fried pickles are made in house, too. The sandwiches looked good. We'd stop by again. I was pleasantly surprised with the food quality. While the menu items seem simple and classic, there is an extra level of care and inventiveness to bring something exciting to every meal. Shut up and get here. The Namballs were delicious, like pork wontons without the wrapper. Beware that the sauce is super spicy, but just the way I love it. Would definitely return! One recommendation...add candied bacon (or some clever, flavorings to bacon) to the menu as a side to the eggs. Decor is hip and music was good. Waiter was very informative and cute. read more
