Ripper's pub is a great dive bar with really good food. If you're in the area from out of town I would suggest you give it a try. I don't have to say this to the locals because if you're from Bethlehem, you already know about this place. Ripper's has been a permanent fixture here in our beautiful city for as long as I can remember and I'm an old man. They get a five star because of their longevity, good food, good service, and excellent prices.

Always great! Their sweet and sweaty wings are some of the best in the city. But Steph! That girl kicked it up a knotch!

Great place if you love cigarrette and cigar smoke. Disgusting food. The bottled beer tastes as it should.

Everything you want in a neighborhood. Meet new friends and greet the old ones, nothing changes...which is good.

Old style bar. Cheap beer, good people, no huge frills. This is the way bars should be.

Not a regular, go somewhere else. Dirty, cramped, sticky bar and tables, and wacky (not in a good way). Better places in Bethlehem.

Food was good. My husband and I stopped in for a drink and appetizer. Service was awful. Gave the…read moreserver the benefit of the doubt as she stated everyone came at once. We received our drinks and appetizers, the app was good. However we never saw her again. Finally we caught the attention of another waitress we asked to send our waitress over. Unfortunately, she couldn't locate our waitress so she took our drink order. Within a few minutes our waitress appeared and we told her the other waitress took our drink order and that we like to order more food. She took our food order. 25 minutes later the food appeared but still no drinks. After complaining finally received drinks from the original waitress. We're still here finishing up let's see if service gets any better.

I discovered this charming pub while visiting Bethlehem (otherwise known as Christmas City USA)…read moreduring the recent holiday season. The space was lively, yet cozy. First time I visited was for lunch. As soon as I saw the menu, I knew I needed to order the Wild Scotch Egg (difficult to find). I also had the half portion of Fish and Chips. The Wild Scotch Egg consisted of hard boiled egg and sausage, which was panko fried, sitting on Guinness fondue and crisp arugula, topped with Parmesan crisps. I really enjoyed this. The outer breading was light and satisfyingly crispy, while the egg and sausage interior was expertly cooked, tender and well seasoned. Cheesy fondue sauce was rich and creamy. Parmesan crisp was a nice, tasty touch. The beer battered Fish and Chips were also yummy. Fish was succulent, perfectly flaky and flavorful, while the Steak Fries were wonderfully crunchy, full of true potato taste. I knew I needed to return in order to try the Sticky Toffee Pudding, one of my all time favorite desserts. This was served warm, with Earl Grey tea date sponge cake, paired with sweet sticky toffee sauce and clotted cream. So deliciously mouthwatering and decadent! Service was good. The waiter was warm and easy to talk with. Everything came out in a timely manner. Prices were quite reasonable. I'm glad I came across this place to have my fill of some British classics!

We have been here a few times now and it's been the same each time that I've learned what to expect…read moreand can pass it along to anyone who wants to check it out. You walk in, you are at the bar area,But, there is a hostess stand there if you are interested in grabbing a booth to order food. Which is what we have always done and is what we will now never do again because service from this 1 particular shorter waitress is awful. After she dropped our food to the table we didn't see her for an hour despite trying our best to flag her down and asking the other waitress to get her for us so we could have our bill. The owner was working harder than this waitress collecting our empty dishes, asked us if we needed anything, cleaning tables( our waitress removed a used empty glass when she seated us) and I have no clue where she went or what she was doing that while time that she failed to see if everything was okay, we needed anything/refills or were ready to the check. Instead, since my daughter is a regular, she gave us a tip to sit at the bar and order food. Service is much better. Every time we've gone there the food has always been good. This time I got a chicken philly cheesesteak and it was delicious also! Can't say much about the crowd. It's definitely a spot for the younger groups to hang out since the college is so close. The bad thing about that is that they don't respect you at your booth if you are in one just for food. They stand right in front of your table in groups talking and you have zero privacy and it's actually a bit suffocating. When they finally did all move for a moment, I could finally feel the air circulation. This was only around 5:30pm. Service- still awful Food- great Atmosphere- depends what you're looking for

I'm not a fancy beer drinker, so I ordered Michelob Ultra, but my friends were greatly pleased by the large selection of IPA, craft beers, all that kinda stuff. I ordered the fried mozzarella and pierogies, and both were excellent. They were temporarily out of their pretzel bites, but I've heard the pretzel bites are excellent, so I'll be ordering those next time I'm here. Cool atmosphere, too. I bet this place really gets going on a Friday or Saturday night!

They seem to try their best to have a cider from PA on rotation. They have a vinyl night (as in LPs) and the place is super cozy on a corner where there is a lot of parking available. The most amazing thing to me was hearing the bartender casually talking to someone and mentioning that all of their beer was gluten-reduced. Okay, what's that all about? Asking for further details, they use an enzyme to effectively drop the gluten out of the beer. It can't be called gluten-free because it comes from a gluten source. However, the amount of gluten left in the beer seems to fall below the standards for gulten content making it effectively gluten-free. Yeah, no promises from me -- or them, I believe, on that matter. I just found it fascinating with seemingly zero downside to taste! Amazing!

Our first visit to Bonn was moderately busy, but the staff took the time to answer questions, was friendly and knowledgeable, and was very attentive. Our second visit was slammed busy with a line practically out the door. I honestly didn't notice a difference or drop in service. Absolute all-stars. Beer: this place is a goldmine of English pub styles with outstanding milds and bitters. We worked our way through the tap list and couldn't find a beer that wasn't great. Parking: located next to two large parking lots (pay). Well lit. Food: none. Fuel up before you go. Atmosphere: small, quaint, but comfortable and welcoming. On our first visit, another patron at the bar told us, "I envy you...I wish I could experience this place again for the first time." It's that kind of place. You just click with the vibe and it feels good. On both visits here, we didn't want to leave. Overall: I brewed my first beer 25 years ago. I'm a certified beer judge. I've lived all over the US and traveled extensively. Not everyone is going to instantly click with this place, or fall in love with their style. I did, and I have. Bonn Place is in my top 20 favorite breweries in the US. Give them a try.
