Hi Folks, I just got back from Greg's Saloon. I live close by and been here for 5 years. On a recommendation from Rebecca (a girl I met at the bar at Youell's Oyster House), I finally decided to give it a try. This is truly a locals hangout, with special attention paid to the regulars. Okay - I get that. With not to many people there tonight the place was obnoxiously loud. Got the stares from a bunch of regulars, but who cares about that? Their bar food is good and the portions decent. The 3 female bartenders were nice too. And all good looking to boot! Here's the problem. One which will keep me from going back! On my check was a $3.00 Admin Fee. When I inquired about it I was told it's designed to persuade customers to pay cash. Screw that and screw them. The Greg's Saloon experience is NOT woth the extra $3.00 in any way imaginable. If I knew about the Admin Fee beforehand, I would have walked right back out the door! read more

Great bar. Definitely a "locals" bar. But we still felt welcome. Food was good. The only issue we had with it is that it came to us out of order. But we weren't on a time schedule l, so not really a big deal to us. The bartender was very attentive and poured a good double captain and coke. Overall, the place had a cool vibe. Greg's is your average neighborhood corner bar. From my experience, this is a place to grab a few drinks, not dinner. The menu is very basic. They have your typical burgers, sandwiches, and fried appetizers. I ordered a cheesesteak when I went. I enjoyed it. Had better, had worse. I have no reason to come back here, but I had an enjoyable experience. The service was friendly, the prices are cheap, and I got to shoot some pool. read more

Stopped in to have pre dinner drinks for the first time last night. This is a very good neighborhood bar. We,too, found it to be quite clean. While we ate elsewhere yesterday, I would eat here. Service was attentive and good beer was reasonably priced. 60 minute pint for 5$. Plenty of regulars there, friendly enough to move coats and offer seats at the packed bar. One negative thing though-it was Very loud. I'd expect noise but this was terribly so. They need some sound absorbing surfaces. Everything was hard and voices just bounced. I'd go back but I wouldn't stay longer than a beer and a bite b.c. of the volume. read more

Short pours drinks! A typical vodka/the bus is 1.5 once's of vodka.? He makes his bartender pour 1 ounce vodka. SHORT POUR! Cheap bastard!

Worst place to go clientele is horrible. Wouldn't want to be there with anyone I knew.

This is a great regular local stop. Comfortable clean meet-up with a well kept pool table. Outstanding simple food choices for a quick needed appetite satisfying meal. The owner's friendly enough, usually around giving the bar his personal touch but never intrusive. If anyone is interested in drinking from a local well with a fine sense of Allentown; he/she would not go wrong visiting Greg's for a bit. read more

These bartenders deserve an award, especially Barb, Kirk and Jimmy. They are always so pleasant to us and accommodating even though we come in for a few drinks late night after work. read more

Stopped for a beer, seems like a decent place if you want bar/food. Definitely not a place you'd take your kids for dinner. The place is pretty clean and it's not a rough bar but not really a sports bar either. read more

Stopped here ona Sunday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised. The place was really clean and had cool decor. Wings were very good. My only complaint is it's not really cheap and pool table is $1.50 which I think is unreasonable but what do you get for that amount of money these days!. Staff was friendly. The Female bartender was very attentive and friendly. (The male bartender only focused on the regulars) This was our first visit. Food was great and beer was perfect. Nice neighborhood bar with a pool table. read more

Been a patron for more than 15 yrs was shunned when new bartender took money out of my card and said it was for the tip that I had added on my receipt the bill was for $35 my chip was 100 false my tip I put down was 10 once I try to resolve it it got resolved but then when I go turn back I was treated like an outcast disrespectful customer service and was told I could no longer set a tab I had to pay for each thing as I got it so I had to pay for my food right away I had to pay for every drink per drink as I got it before and anyone else that goes in there it's allowed to start a tab with the food and the amount of drinks and when they're ready to leave they pay then no I was shunned because I brought to the attention that someone took money out of my card the bartender that I didn't authorize she flooded the receipt and then I get shunned it was my favorite place to go I love going there the atmosphere was awesome the food was great and the prices were incredible and people knew me there then this and it's my least favorite place to go I rather put nails in my eyes before I go back because I went there recently and yet again to see maybe they would lift their spirits up and say you know what bygones are bygones no once they realize it was me I got treated like crap unprofessional and definitely not a way to sell your business I appreciate getting my money back but yet I was disappointed in how I was treated apparently I wasn't a great patron or let's put it this way a friend that I thought I once was to the owner and the bartenders that were there unprofessional and I don't recommend this because apparently the customer is not right even when the money is stolen... Also friends and family of mine have gone in there before this happened and they loved it since this happened and they've gone in there they were treated the same exact way I was and the bartender was very disrespectful to their my family members which were women so she was very disrespectful to them while their husbands were there by doing unseen unforeseen acts and manner towards their husbands which is also unprofessional that's not a strip club don't act like one and it's definitely not the corner of downtown City of Allentown or you're picking up prostitutes...so we have found a different location, not like what we were used to before the incident but we won't go back... This business would have had five stars before this incident five stars Plus but because of this incident and since then and how we've been treated my family and myself less than a star negative Stars but unfortunately I have to put at least one star down so you didn't deserve it thank you have a blessed day ....I wish I didn't have to put this review but I was treated horribly and wasn't right or fair...I did nothing wrong..just wanted my money back that was stolen from me from bartender... read more

definitely a great place with a lot of history. tHe bar years ago was called Joe Digiacomos, and people who went there have continued to come here. There is a great sense of community amongst the longtime regulars. Bartenders are friendly. THe customers have a passion for sports and noticeably drink pretty hard. Shots and beers and beers and shots. The food is very good. The bar has a Southwest theme which is very pleasing to people like myself who have history in Arizona. read more

Fantastic lunch! 20 buffalo shrimp, a basket of breaded scallops w/ fries and a couple beers for $30. Add a great atmosphere and the sun shining and that's a 5 star Wednesday afternoon for me! read more
