There were only two options in the area and one of them closed at like 2 pm which is so strange but anyways found this place and even though its located in a strip mall it was actually a nice little vibe inside with a cute bar area. The food was like a 3.999/5 I would have given it the 4 but the seasoning on the chicken could have been a little better and the mac and cheese was more like cheese and mac. The mashed potatoesssss was the winner for me, a little heavy on the black pepper but still yummy. I wanted to love everything about Southern Fire kitchen but the service/hostess staff didn't meet the mark for me. Before arriving a had used the Yelp option to add my name to the waitlist while driving there. While driving I was removed from the waitlist (by the staff) then added back. Once I got there according to my text my table was ready. The hostess at door said the table wasn't and I had to be added to the waitlist again and wait another 45 mins. I will say I was a little frustrated but I waited patiently. (So a word of advice just don't use the Yelp app to get on the waitlist just do it once you arrive). The restaurant it self is not that big inside so once I entered I understood why the wait was so long. It was a cute spot though music was 90s r&b, it was a nice vibe for sure. The food was delicious. As far as food goes there was nothing that was not good. We all loved our food. I'll attach some pictures of what was ordered. Once we took a pause from eating our food we did feel a little rush to get up. The servers were coming to trash our plates but it was like wait a minute can I finish. I come to ATL often and I am always trying new spots. I was in the mood for soul food, and I came across this spot. I came across the reviews and tiktoks, and I was prepared for the wait but I was not expecting to wait that long. I wish security would have explained that we could've sat at the bar because I would've opted for that for that to be seated sooner. The waitlist process was disorganized at best, but we move. Once inside, the place is nicely decorated with warm lighting. It is very small, hence the wait, but I didn't feel like people were sitting on top of me. The customer service was just okay to me. The staff that I interacted with weren't rude or nasty but they also weren't very pleasant. As for as my drink, I opted for the Strawberry Lemon Drop. It was good, and I liked how they had tons of options for flavors. The fried lobster appetizer was good, but very salty in my opinion. For my meal I had the fried chicken, with mac and collard greens. The mac and collard greens were a solid 9/10. The chicken although the flavor potential was there it was overpowered by saltiness and oil. I feel like the oil needed to be changed and I could taste it in the chicken. That aside, it was really hard for me to get past the saltiness of the food. I know food in ATL can be heavy on the seasoning, but this was too much for me. I have dined in this establishment twice. Each time the food was amazing. I ordered the turkey chops, Mac n cheese, yams, greens and cornbread. My fiancé ordered the friend whiting of which he also loved. The first time I ordered the frozen blueberry lemonade, it was delicious! My fiancé ordered the frozen blueberry margarita both times but each time they weren't "ready". On the second visit the waitress said they are usually ready around 5:30pm (they open at 4pm). We dined in at 5:30 and 4:30 respectively. Steven opted for the blueberry margarita on the rocks instead and both times he enjoyed them. He said they don't short you on the liquor! I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because both times we dined in, it was HOT. It felt like there was no ac. There was even a large industrial fan inside. For the amount of money you're spending, you'd want to be comfortable. Lastly, they are not kid friendly. They didn't have booster seats or high chairs so both times our experience was largely impacted by having to hold our toddler. I also took in consideration that both times my fiancé wasn't able to order a frozen cocktail due to them "not being ready". Other than these few "odds", the food was good, the restaurant and restrooms were clean and the ambiance was nice. read more

There was security outside when we attended on a Thursday afternoon which was surprising because it was about 4 o'clock in the afternoon but I guess it's best to be safe than sorry. As soon as we walked in the ambience was delightful. The decoration lighting the pictures on the wall. Everything was amazing. They also have music playing not loud so it was great. The waiter was great giving us recommendations as this was our first time here so I did appreciate that. There was a little bit of construction going on in the restaurant in the basement I imagine because it sounded like loud banging, but we could not see where it was coming from which I definitely recommend that should be done after hours other than that. For this to be a new restaurant in the city, I have to say that this is one of the most delicious soul food places in the city. I have come many times and I've often wanted to keep this gym to myself as they are very small location and not very busy but now I just have to let someone know. As soon as they sit down, someone is there to greet you and get your drink orders. It is absolutely amazing how fast they are able to get to you without any confusion it speaks to how they operate during their training. I always get the catfish. It is something that I absolutely enjoy when I come, although I always say tell myself that I'm gonna try something different. The catfish is so amazing me and my friends are always in awe of how good it is inconsistently every single time that we come, they've got a recipe for it and it is absolutely amazing to try catfish when they come . The restaurant is very small yes however, it is very accommodating and for the size it does sit quite a few people without feeling so congested. I greatly appreciate the way they have their booth and table seated and gives you a lot of legroom and space if need to walk up to the bar or even to the bathroom without feeling like you have to squeeze in between anybody. I'm hoping that they decide to spread out and put locations all over Metro Atlanta and kind of spread out and get a bigger layout because this is a place I desperately want a little bit closer to Midtown however I will make the travel out to Brookhaven every single time. read more

However, there is room for improvement. They charge $5 for a non-alcoholic beverage with no refills. The glass should be bigger for that price, you get charged for 2 very small pieces of cornbread and there was no peach cobbler or red velvet cake. Wow is what I will say!!! The food here leaves me dreaming about when I am in Atlanta and can come again and again!!!

I have nothing to complain about. I got the catfish entree with two sides: Mac and yams and they were sooooo good. The cornbread was good as well and I'm not a big cornbread fan. I had the mango lemon drop to drink with Tito's, although the waiter said they're know for their casamigos lemon drops.
