Mac&cheese were amazing, yams were even better. However the fried chicken was too dry. I actually had a difficult time chewing it. The crispiness outside the chicken was fine, but it was the meat itself which was too rubbery. It mightve been just that one cut we tried or they fried it for too long or something. For the service, I think it depends on who you get, because Ive had a good and a bad one. Ambiance of the restaurant was pretty nice and I thought it would be a nice place to come for a southern food date night.

The food did not disappoint, however the service was unsatisfactory. We got the fried catfish with fried okra and Mac and cheese-- added on wings and mashed potatoes on the side. First time having the fried okra here and it was good. I really liked the batter and the touch of ranch seasoning. Ambiance was okay. As far as service, it was not good whatsoever. Our server greeted us and gave us water then proceeded to not check on us for 15+ minutes. A big group came in during that time and he proceeded to take their order, to which I got up and asked the manager for help. She quickly handled that for us and got us another server. I really enjoy the food here but the service does not match up. With an automatic 18% gratuity added, I do expect a higher level of service.

We went for a friends birthday party and had to reserve several tables to accommodate the large group. The service was excellent but the restaurant was extremely hot and never cooled off. The lobster bites and lamb chops were excellent but the Mac and cheese was mediocre at best. The collard greens were fine but the portions were extremely smaller than the price and I was still hungry 30 minutes later

My sister and I visited Southern Fire Kitchen before we headed back to the airport. We did make a reservation before arrival and were seated immediately. This food was TOP TIER. Service was fast and quick and we had a great time. We got the wings and cornbread to share. She ordered the salmon while I ordered the catfish. Both were delicious and hot upon arrival and we got 4 different sides, green beans, yams, Mac n cheese, and collard greens (which were all FANTASTIC). We practically share the sides since we got different ones. 10/10 recommend this place. The vibe was also super cute with the R& B music. We visited back in February and are still talking about this food! I will definitely be back when visiting Atlanta again!

I was in town for a work trip and staff decided we wanted soul food! We decided to give Southern Fire Kitchen a try. We attem to make reservations in advance, but there weren't any available. We did a walk in and didn't have any issues being seated. When we arrived there was a bouncer outside that led us in to the person who sat us down. The vibe was just what I needed. Nice decor, TVs to watch the games, and the music was old school and new rnb. The food was so good! I ordered the wings with two sides and added an additional side and cornbread to share with my coworker. The greens had a slight sweetness to it, which I didn't care for, but the hot sauce helped to tame it down. The cornbread was decent. I tried my coworkers catfish and it was cooked to perfection. Im ready to return to GA, just to I can make another stop to Southern Fire Kitchen!

I dined here recently with some friends and really enjoyed it. It's located in a large shopping plaza on Buford Highway and plenty of free parking is available. The restaurant is small, so I highly suggest that you make reservations. Upon entering the restaurant, I noticed an armed security guard outside and it threw me off. I get it though, it is Atlanta after all. Our server introduced herself promptly and asked if we wanted bottled water. We all ordered one, but noticed that other people had glasses of ice water. She never gave an alternative option, so we just assumed that they only had bottled water. To start, I ordered a watermelon margarita. It was good. To eat, I ordered the fried whiting with candied yams, collard greens and macaroni and cheese. The fish was fried to perfection and the yams were delicious! I really enjoyed the collard greens as when. The mac & cheese was just ok to me. The played a great selection of music and the service was fine. Everyone enjoyed their food and drinks. I'd definitely return.

This place was busy but the staff were good. The restaurant is more of a local spot with a cozy decor. The food came out faster than our drinks. I had the fried catfish a little salty, Mac and cheese- good and seasoned, greens -mild favor and It had a crunch to them. Cornbread was good but dry. Overall it was a good experience and the food was good.

The food was amazing! The service was just okay, did a walk in, I was asked if I had reservations, waited about 45 minutes to be seated only to walk in and see several tables available, once seated the waiter informed us that there is no free refills, never heard of that before, thank goodness the food made up for the mishaps, everything was seasoned good.

I've been here twice now and I do overall enjoy this restaurant but the reviews are correct. The restaurant itself is really nice I came in twice with no reservation and was seated relatively quick. Upon seating our server did take a little to come over (both times) and when they come over they take your order typically at that time (great for me as I was hungry). Only downside is once you get your drinks you probably won't see your server stopping by again until it's time for the food. We were seated next to the kitchen area I believe and there was an awful smell coming from somewhere. I started to get nauseous from it until we moved from sitting there. I'm not sure if it's something in the wall or what but it smelled awful. The food here is always superior I've never had anything I didn't like. The only downside none of the drinks get free refills. The food doesn't typically take long but oftentimes you don't get all that you ask for once it is brought and you have to remind them. We ordered cornbread but didn't get it until after we had our food. I assume it was forgotten. The menu states the included gratuity so be aware when paying. It does show you on the pad though but don't overtip by not paying attention. Our server was attentive when it came time to pay otherwise we had to stop her constantly just for simple things. The two servers that I had both times never came over just to check in. Overall, If you can get past the low grade service this is the place you should go.

This place surprised me. I've always been a little skeptical to try but I'm glad I did. The food was great and the portions were good as well. The service was also exceptional. Definitely will be trying again!!!

I really wanted to like this place, but I just couldn't get over the pricey Over cooked dried out salmon and twice fried catfish. We arrived pretty late on a Saturday night and I am assuming they were getting ready to close so they were doing their final orders and it looked like we received the last of what was there. The place look lovely, but the food was completely off.

We came for Mother's day weekend to Lafayette location. Got in, already expected to be packed and to wait. After about 1hr+ of wait we came inside and we were told that the manager had called a table but it wasn't ready. After another 10-15 Mins we were sat. As we had time to look at the menu while waiting, we were ready to order everything when the server came to us... another 10+ mins. It was a curse and a blessing because, my cocktail got to the table way before the 3 waters and lemonade we had ordered. It was probably about 40 mins in when the soft drinks arrived to the table. Food was good and the few times we saw the server was nice but it took over an hour to get the food and it did not come complete to the table... so, yes, more wait. It is absurd that 18% gratuity is automatically added. Would I come back? Maybe, on a weekday. I liked the vibes and decorations.

Had to take this before it got real lol

At first there was a mix up with who was serving us do we got explained the drink menu twice. After our appetizer, we waited about 30-40 minutes for the rest of our items which took longer than we thought. They did give us some house made popcorn to keep us busy. Jahjoy pork belly: Tasty & tendor. I loved the papaya salad which left a refreshing contrast. A bit too saucy for me. Flavors were strong. Squid ink bucatini: our favorite! Must get dish - bucatini is perfectly al dente & the spicy sauce was very flavorful. Jumbo shrimp was delicious, and the anchovy on top left a nice strong flavor. Red snapper: This has some Vietnamese influences with the sauce. It was a lighter dish which was just OK for me, I would have liked the fish to have a crispier skin. Not much flavor besides the sauce which is inspired by canh chua. Wagyu flank steak: cooked to perfection and flavored well, loved the celery puree which was much tastier than we expected celery to be. Dessert was mint chocolate cake which was very tasty. I wish the cake was softer and meltier in the center but it was still good. Malt gelato was delicious. Could def taste the mintiness. Creme pat along the edges was a nice add to the cake with cacao nibs and popcorn for a textural contrast. I enjoyed it!! Overall we had a great meal and could tell the ingredients were very fresh. The presentation for all the dishes was beautiful!! We can tell the chef puts care in his food :) Appreciated the personal touch - they gave a handwritten card to my husband for his birthday!

Sorry, future Terra Terroir patrons, that table is ours now. We'll let you use it when we're not there. ;-) Our server was very pleasant. Sorry didn't catch her name. Our dinner included the Oysters and Okra appetizer. Proof you can fry anything and make it good. But the mustard dip/sauce that came with it was excellent (I say this as a non-mustard person). My husband's entree was the scallops. He enjoyed them. I had the KC strip steak with smashed yukon potatoes and forest mushrooms with a sauce and broccolini. I was not a fan of the broccolini (a bit bitter), but the flavors /seasoning of the rest of the meal made up for it. I had a citrus and a hibiscus mocktail. Not bad, but probably would just get a Coke next time. I cannot say enough about the fresh bread and butter. Heavenly. But why only 3 slices for two people? I wish they would expand their mocktail offerings, but other than that, I'm glad we picked this place for our random Wednesday date night.

Some describe this place as charming, but we felt the opposite; the interiors seem tired and could use some polish and updates, and most table florals were wilted. The garden area has potential, but the mix of faux plants, dated light fixtures, and inexpensive tables gives it a less refined vibe. Menu-wise, prices don't align with plating, flavor, or overall experience. Even the wine list leans heavily toward entry-level bottles rather than thoughtful pairings. On the positive side, the host greeted us warmly, and we were seated right away (only two other tables were occupied on a Thurs @ 6p). Unfortunately, service lagged after that. Our server was pleasant but offered little guidance when asked about menu highlights ("everything" was the answer), water refills were sparse, and empty plates lingered well into the next course until we finally stacked them ourselves. Food notes: * Scallop & corn fritters - 6/10 ($18). Moist and flavorful but over-fried; plating felt amateur for the price, and the sauce was thick and dull. Honestly, LaGarde & Confab down the street both do significantly better fritters for less ($11), with a better vibe * Jumbo crab cake - 6/10 ($21). Nice flavor, but again, not worth the price. (Even Chops Lobster Bar charges just a few dollars more for a far superior experience.) The jicama slaw was fresh but overly soaked in sugar water * Burger - 9/10. The highlight of the night! * Salmon - 4/10. Overcooked, overly salty, served on plain couscous with the saltiest green beans I've ever had, all topped with a syrupy blueberry sauce. * Grapefruit & pomegranate salad - 6/10. Overdressed, with too much sweetness from the pomegranate-honey vinaigrette; the grapefruit tasted canned. Grilled shrimp were cooked nicely. Not sure how this earned an OpenTable Diners' Choice 2025 badge... it wouldn't crack my top 100 spots in Atlanta. And yes, a cat ran across the rafters mid-meal.

After a few visits, I've tried a good variety of the menu: * **Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich:** This is served open-face and uses a mix of Sichuan and Calabrian chili. It is absolutely amazing, but fair warning: it is *hot*. Even if you're used to Sichuan spice, this one may still be tough to deal with, but it's still incredibly flavorful and enjoyable. Just keep in mind that they don't adjust the heat level for this one. * **The Greens:** These are wonderful. They have a rich, savory pork flavor and are easily a must-order for me every single time. * **Shrimp and Grits:** This has a fantastic sauce that strikes the perfect balance--not too heavy, but not watery either. My only minor wish is that they'd add some andouille sausage to it (even if raised the price), but it's still a really well-executed dish. * **Southern Pho:** Really great and super hearty. It's a comforting bowl, though probably best enjoyed during the winter months. * **Drinks:** The cocktails are always creative and well-made, and they keep a really interesting beer list on hand too. ### 2. The Ambience The vibe here is great. The interior feels like a charming, cozy little house you'd find in Savannah. I especially love the bar area, which has these really cool copper chandelier lights that give the space a warm, inviting glow. ### 3. The Service The staff has been consistently friendly and welcoming every single time I've been here. The Summary I honestly feel lucky to live close to this place. It doesn't get much love or mentions from the Atlanta social media crowd and local press (the good news is you won't encounter a lot of annoying people lol).. I'm a fan though.

The Ashford is a pretty nice place to grab either brunch, lunch, or dinner! We came around 7, so we had dinner. You can sit outside or inside, the weather was really nice, but we just wanted to sit inside in the AC. I got a glass of the bieler rose, which was recommended by our server. My wife got the lavender daydreams cocktail, which was really good! We all shared the chicken spring rolls and the burrata bruschetta. Both were really good! The chicken spring rolls were in a rice paper, and not the usual wonton paper. I don't usually like the rice paper spring rolls, but these ones weren't too bad. For our main, me and my wife got the chicken schnitzel. They even split it on two different plates for us too, which was nice of them to do. It was SO GOOD. Pretty sure I inhaled mine! We also shared the mac and cheese and the mashed potatoes. The mac and cheese was soooooo good. It was a pimento mac and cheese, and had herbed breadcrumbs. Chef's kiss! The only reason this isn't getting 5 stars, is because our food took FOREVER to come out. There were some larger parties, so I do get it, but this was like 30-45 minutes forever. Also, I can't remember which dish, but one of the dishes me and my wife got was cold, so we asked to send it back to get a warmer version, which they did. They comped this off the bill, which was nice. That didn't bother me as much as the food coming out so late. Had that not been the case, I would've given this review 5 stars! I'm so glad we listened to the other reviews and gave them a visit because our entire table of four had a lovely time. We started with drinks and I settled on a glass of wine. They had the exact type of sauvignon blanc that I wanted, which was an immediate win. As a group we settled on the whipped goat cheese and brussel sprouts for appetizers. The brussel sprouts came with bacon so I steered clear, but the others raved about them. The whipped goat cheese dip was also a nice choice with the garden veggies. Super creamy and refreshing. As for my entree I went with risotto of the week with salmon. It was absolutely delicious and I ate every bite. We had a birthday in the group so we of course had to get desserts. We shared the creme brulee and this super decadent chocolate cake. Both with fresh berries, love! The creme brulee was definitely my favorite of the two, but you can't go wrong. As for the space itself, it's beautiful. It gave off a sort of a modern farmhouse vibe with the wood and brick. With the twinkle lights and earthy touches bringing it all together. Our service was also on point. Jackson was awesome (as you can see in the other reviews) and kept the good vibes flowing all night. I would definitely come here again.

They price the tip into the food and yet the price is still reasonable. More restaurants should be less of a coward and start doing this more. Tipping culture in US is wild. I digress. I like coming here with friends because then I get to try a few dishes. Pumpkin was delicious. Kale salad was creamy and had fresh tomatoes with avacado. The seared black cod was fresh. Salmon was tasy. Gnocci was my wife favorite. The only dish that was a little disappointing for me was the beef bourguignon. Maybe because we had some great flavors in Paris recently and I clearly remember that wine flavor. All of this is moot since the food may change once you get here. Would I come here again? Yes. This has quickly moved to my Top 40 ATL list. I love the small and seasonal menu.

Here it is February .. and time to taste a new offering from Danbi. I was really craving that…read moreWeekly Special Duroc heritage pork chop ! Here is Danbi's description: 10oz Bone-in Duroc Heritage Pork Chop - Medium Well (Cumin, Paprika, Salt, Pepper, Avocado oil) Cauliflower Mash (Butter, Heavy Cream, Scallion), Winter Vegetable Succotash with Sage Butter (Parsnip, Kabocha Squash, Red Onion, Edamame), Salsa Verde (Parsley, Anchovy, Caper, Garlic, Lemon, Vinegar, Scallion, Mustard). People, people, people... if I can impress upon you one thing today please let it be this. BE CAREFUL WHERE YOUR PORK COMES FROM ! and who processes it ! You want the best pork purveyor your money can afford. Here's what is said about Duroc heritage pork: "Heritage Duroc pork chops are a premium, highly marbled meat known for exceptional juiciness, tenderness, and a rich, dark red color, often described as having a deeper, more savory flavor than conventional pork. Sourced from a 175-year-old American heritage breed, these chops are typically raised on family farms with strict, humane, and antibiotic-free standards." THIS is the kind of pork you want to eat. (avoid Smithfield at ALL COSTS - they were bought out by CHINA years ago !) Now back to our regularly scheduled review: The chop was AMAZING ! It was HUGE ! and BONE-IN ! Unfortunately, I can't have the cauliflower mash that it comes with. Nor the sage butter. BUT - Our Favorite Chef, Jack, is THE MAN ! There is a REASON they ask you your allergies (and sensitivities) when placing an order. He's really good about pleasing my palate AND keeping my sensitive intestines happy. I pretty much scarfed down the bed of black lentils the chop was perched on. This is the same black lentils that comes with the black cod (see my previous review). Addictingly delicious !
