Went to the store Dec 8 and ordered a shotgun, paid cash, and was told it has been ordered and I should receive it in about a week. A week later, I checked and was told it is still on the way.....holiday shipping, etc. To sum it up, I have been buying, selling (a few) and trading firearms for over 50 years and this is BY FAR the worst experience I have EVER had. My concern arose when no tracking number accompanied this communication. On November 8th, I attempted to gain clarity on the order status via email, yet received no response. November 10th prompted a phone inquiry, where the individual, after obtaining my order number, assured me of an imminent arrival without providing substantial details. Subsequent efforts on November 14th to seek information via email proved futile. A second phone call on November 16th met with a less-than-enthusiastic response from the personnel, who, unable to provide tracking information, cited supplier constraints. November 22nd marked another call to inquire about my order, with a recurring assurance of imminent arrival attributed to holiday order influx. Giving the benefit of the doubt, I agreed to check again the following week. November 28th necessitated yet another call, resulting in the revelation that my order had not been processed correctly. Like all parasitic organisms, these folks enter the world from the very bottom. A customer goes in looking for something and they say "sure we can get you that; you pay them for the item; they order it (apparently) while you're standing at the counter and they tell you "you should get it by at the end of the week, early next week at the latest." These guys use the expectation of dealing with a reputable business when they say "should" when it fact they intend to defraud you from the get go. I had decent dealings with this shop when they were located over by PetSmart -- maybe that's why they went to the dogs at their new location. Just couldn't pass up the chance to be mangy mutts. What a terrible experience, the first day I walked into this place I stood in front of two employees for literally 5 mins and neither of them said a word to me. We were the only three people on the store.... Super awkward greeting. Anyways I should have taken that as a sign and went home but against better judgement I decided to leave a few parts there to get cerakoted. A month later I called in to see what the hold up was and it turns on "the painter is having health issues and hasn't been in" so I said ok well how long will it take? They said another two weeks tops... I said ok we already waited this long might as well just keep waiting. After another month I called back in to see what's going on. They gave me the same excuse run around bullsh*t story and I said well I'm coming to pick up my parts then. They told me they weren't sure if he had started yet so if I drive down there they might be half done. I waited another week called back in and said I'm coming to get my parts. I just made it down today I dropped my parts off February 1st today is the 8th of may.... These guys are a total joke. They also returned my parts in a napkin not the padded bag I gave them....? After being rude as can be and giving her asinine excuses like snow storms in 2 different states effecting the shipment of a package from a gun made in Canada. (Maybe their distributor is here in the states but thats odd considering the sited states rarely have snow.) Every time she called they treated her like she was bothering them. I bought two firearms from this store thinking it would be nice to give a local small business a chance. I WAS WRONG! The AR15 (USED) was a personal weapon from the shop. It needed a new barrel and serious cleaning. Do not go here because they will smile and take your money but customer service is less than stellar. I have been in many gun shops across the area and honestly never really enjoyed the experience and have stuck to the big box stores because they leave you alone and just let you browse. However, I stopped by SS Guns today and this has by far been my best, most civil, pleasant and 'normal' experience! These guys are awesome! None of that - I am oozing testosterone-macho, pseudo-masculine, I open beer bottles without a bottle opener attitudes with the dry "what do you need ?? Why are you here? and don't you have a clue" stare down and greeting. It was normal. The two guys behind the counter were very friendly, civil and ..normal. By the way, they charge a very reasonable fee for FFL transfers. Great job guys. Stay normal, don't change! You've earned my business and I will definitely be back! I've done 2 ffl transfers at this place and they went fine. so I didn't hesitate to take in my brand new Ar-15 platform chambered in 6.5 grendel, to have it assembled. I called 1st to see if they even do this type of work. I was told Yes they could absolutely do this for me, and when i asked HOW LONG? I was told just a few hours, as it was nothing custom, just a simple put together. I was told it would be done the next day or the day after, AT THE LATEST. that was 2 Wednesdays ago. I waited almost a week before I called and asked what's going on, and the person who answered the phone acted as if he wasn't sure what I was talking about when I described what it was I had being done for me. After explaining a bit more, the guy said, "OH THAT GUN".. Yeah, the other guy was 3/4 of the way done with it and started on another job. He got held up on that job, but as soon as he was done with "THAT OTHER JOB" he would button up mine. So I asked, "DONE TODAY"??? And he replied, NO MORE LIKE TOMORROW. This was on a Monday. So the next day I was expecting to get a call saying my rifle was done, and never got that call. So I waited until near the end of their business day which is 5 pm according to their on-line schedule and the paper one hanging in their window. I showed up at 4pm an hour before close, and they weren't even open. place was locked up tighter than a drum, appeared to me, nobody even showed up to do any work that day. Here we are 4 days later and I still haven't heard a word. So in the long run, I was told would be done quick. THAT WASN'T TRUE. I was told, the gun was nearly done, should be done tomorrow, AND THAT WASN'T TRUE EITHER. They have a shitty work ethic, and just come and go WHENEVER apparently, with ZERO fucks given for any kind of stated timelines. They clearly like to spout whatever BULLSHIT over the phone. I didn't want to leave my parts in the back of some shop over Christmas and New Years, which I'm sure they will be CLOSED and NOT WORKING. Then after NEW YEARS is VALENTINES DAY which they will be closed or shutting down early. i can see this "QUICK BUILD" taking 3 months. If they would have stated that they could do the work, but had so much work that they couldn't get to mine for a couple weeks, then I could have had the opportunity to say no NEVERMIND. Now I'm stuck fucking around at their discretion. Now that I know they are dishonest, I'm worried they are going to build my rifle with shit used parts they have laying around, and keep my brand new shit, putting the NEW SHIT in one of their own rifles, and selling the NEW RIFLE at their shop with my parts. They have lost my business and I will NEVER return. Nor will I recommend this place to anyone again. These guys are GREAT!! Zack helped me out! He knows A LOT about guns and especially the longer range stuff. They had some really great purpose built stuff for hunting, competition shooting, and some super sic long range builds. He took the time to go over how certain parts are made and why they're so much better if they're made right. It was quite interesting and I really appreciate the time he spent to explain everything to me. Most of this was after hours by the way. I'm very excited as it was obvious I finally met the folks that can help me build the best bolt gun for me!! The price quoted sounded fair as I was interested in the awesome stuff and we all know what that means.. They Cerakote as well. I didn't have the guns I wanna kote w me at the time but I will update after I get them back. He had a sweet bolt gun in the store w one of those Chamaeleon paint schemes AND IT WAS FREAKIN AWESOME! Anyway. I'm seeing less and less companies that are customer service focused so when I find one I've been trying to tell the other Yelpers the honest truth about my experiences. Dropped my AK off 4 months ago to get it creakote applied and a new but stock installed, when I dropped it off I was told a couple of weeks and it would be finished. I called periodically and talked to Mike, at first he had excuses why it wasn't started, a couple more weeks go by and he said it had been taken apart and the process had started, a month ago he said everything was done but the mags and as usual he said he would contact me. I finally called yesterday and told him I was coming to pick it up, his response was "ok". I got there today, he was helping someone at the counter so another person got my stuff, low and behold it hadn't been touched at all and even though I said my name checked my stuff out less than 10' feet from him Mike didn't say a word. Not only does he lie, but he doesn't care about customer service. No one said a word like sorry for BSing you, tying your stuff up for so long and the funny part is they didn't even ask for identification before giving it to me. So in a nut shell, if you like paying high prices, getting lied to and zero customer service and accountability this is the place for you read more

I brought my gun in for cerakoting. The cerakote guy was knowledgeable about the gun and what I was wanting to do. I was given a 2-week timeframe to complete the work. After 2 and a half weeks passed, I called to follow-up. First call the cerakote guy was not there. After the weekend, I called again, and was told I would get a call back. No call-back. A few days later I called again, was disconnected while on hold. No call back. The next day I call back again, was told I would get a call back with a status. No call-back. I had to go into the store the following Tuesday, stand at the counter to get a status. I was told that I "should" get a call that it's ready on Thursday. It's now Friday. I stopped into the store to follow-up. The gun was still assembled and sitting behind the counter untouched. 4 weeks, twice as long as initially quoted, of having my gun without any kind of progress, contact or conversation of status. From my encounter, they seem to be knowledgeable about their products, but unless you are standing at the counter in the store, there is no communication with the customer. Had there been communication with me explaining why it was taking so long and a realistic estimate of completion, I probably would have been more patient. Very disappointed in their poor business practices. I ordered a laser, which was shown as having 7 in stock on their website. After over 2 weeks of waiting, I had received no information beyond the original order confirmation. When I called them, he said they had no idea when it would be available (remember, per their website they supposedly had them in stock). I asked him to cancel the order and credit my card, and was told they'd be charging me a 25% restocking fee, as it is a special order (remember, the website said they had 7 in stock). Further, he stated that this 25% restocking fee policy was clearly stated on their website. It is not clear at all, as that is the fee for returning an item. I'm not returning anything, as I've never received the item. He also claimed that their website makes it clear that some items are not actually in stock, even though it says they are. First, such a disclaimer is pretty flakey, as they should be able to manage the data. Second, that statement is not easily found on their site. In fact, if you do a web search for an item, it will take you to the item page and you will never see the disclaimer, as it is only on their home page. It does not show up on the item page or during the purchasing process. I'll never buy from South Sound Guns again, and will be disputing the charge with my credit card company. read more
