Everyone who I have spoken with has been knowledgable and helpful without pressuring. While I don't go out of my way to pay more than I need to, I try to support local when I can. Came here for breakfast and didn't even make it inside because of how ridiculous the parking situation is. We waited for a spot in what is clearly a shared lot, finally parked, and immediately got confronted by a guy from a neighboring business who was literally standing outside waiting to pounce on people. He told us to move and claimed he "owns the lot" and that only half is for the restaurant. Meanwhile, his side was half empty -- multiple open spots -- and he's out there acting like a parking enforcer for no reason other than to be difficult. It was aggressive, unnecessary, and honestly just a terrible first impression. If this is how businesses around here treat potential customers, I'd rather spend my money somewhere else. First time at a shooting range and it was great! Went with my group during the day on Friday and we were in the room by ourselves. We brought our own guns and ammo so the whole process was easy. Not sure what the standard practice for shooting ranges are like, but if it's your first time like mine, they don't give you any safety tips. Solid gun shop and range. However, I don't have a ton of experience in the firearms department so I may not be the best judge. Convenience is a huge plus for me as its only 10 minutes from my house. I took an intro to handguns class with Jeff to get acquainted with my new piece and it was informative and fun. I will say, staff down stairs seems to be a bit friendlier than the RSO I've encountered upstairs. Not a huge deal though. Over all I have yet to have a bad experience when I come in. Now that I own a gun I will probably come around a lot more often for practice. FYI -if paying with a credit card there is a 3.25% surcharge. Purchased a firearm and holsters from this company and will not return. The firearm came without magazines and both custom holsters did not properly fit our firearms. Please go else where and avoid this place at all cost. I was given a bunch of apologies for their lack of customer service. When we looked at the pistol purchase I decided to give them a go. However, the shop (gun) is not friendly unless you are regular there and they will also call you and correct you if f the they believe the customer is wrong! Appreciate you Miles! Dillon and Stacey were professional unlike you pretending to busy so you did not need to speak with us in person. Follow Up: Gents we were asked twice about the magazines after the fact with a follow up call from Miles correcting me in a condescending manner. The young man, who builds holster was listening to respond and not listening to understand which is why he had the wrong firearm for the build. No need to go back......as a customer we are not part of the BS Family and it was prevalent after the sale. Let move on. Never had a problem at the Range, I did however attempt to do a part trade at the gun shop. I was offered less than half the retail price of what a used Glock 19 should sell for but that didn't bother me as much as the scratches I found on the slide after my trade was inspected. I do not appreciate my property being damaged along with a fairly apathetic attitude towards customers. If it's possible this place is worse than surplus ammo.....just stay off puyallup ave when shopping for firearms. Tyler, the gun I brought in was not "well used". It has had less than 100 rounds fired. It is a limited production Vickers edition Glock 19. They do bring a little more resale than a standard Glock 19. I can post pics of my "well used" Glock if you like. And you can see the only "wear" you'll see is from your employee treating it like a hammer. Went on a Sunday at 11am to avoid the crowds. Range rules obviously didn't apply equally. Had a "Lethal Weapon" wannabe fast drawing from behind his back and rapid firing his firearm. When leaving, the wannabe was talking with the range guy so they must be buds. Poor ventilation and no range safety enforcement. Never going back. If I could give 0 stars solely based on customer service, I would. Husband and I came in here as first timers at a gun range. The location itself is run down with extremely limited parking but we decided to give it a shot anyway after having drove an hour just for this. The folks at the shop downstairs were helpful as we browsed but the issue was with whoever was working the range. We are new to WA and in the process of getting our IDs updated, so I will say we were unprepared with the correct documents to enter, which is our mistake. But the way we were treated for it was unacceptable. When we stepped upstairs the only instructions we got was to sign in. When we presented the wrong ID his tone was extremely rude and condescending using phrases like "i cannot accept this, you should know this", when we in fact had no way of knowing as he did not explain the process or what documents he would be needing and for what. We left with an extremely sour taste in our mouth from the experience, and absolutely will not be returning or recommending this place to anyone else. *response to owner* Again. As I said in my review it was our mistake to not have the correct identification. You gave us no instructions and we did not understand what you needed his ID for. He would not have handed it to you, he was showing it to you because you asked if he had military ID. We take full responsibility for not having correct documentation, but this does not excuse the arrogance through the conversation, for which reason my review stands. The conversation could have been much more civil as a simple explanation, rather than scolding us as if we were children. Tried this place twice, once to look at guns, the other to use the range. Both times, the staff were dismissive bordering on rude. The place always seems to be busy, parking lot full, and street parking is a little sketchy given the neighborhood. Selection in the store was very limited, but given the times I don't blame them for that. I've chosen to go to Lakewood and had great service, worth the extra drive in my opinion. Came here as a last resort since my shooting pit was closed off due to snow. Stopped in Tacompton looking for a range to try out my silencer. My choices was an outdoor range such as Tacoma Sportsman's Club (located in the outskirts) or Bull's Eye, which I never been to before. Ended up going to Bull's Eye since they next to I-5, plus it's an indoor range which allows you to fire 5.56/.223 frangible rounds only if you purchase it from their range.The guy working the counter was comical and helpful to his patrons. I purchased 50 rounds of Fiocchi frangible .223 for about $30, plus I was given a discount off my range fee. Only knocking one star off because my lane's retrieval system was seized at the very far end of the back stop. That wasn't much of an issue for shooting my rifles but an employee had call a cold range to get it functioning again. Not a bad place if you intend to shoot pistols. Bull's Eye is a pretty old school gun shop/range but it has it's charms. read more

Ordered and paid for a glock in early March. Did the standard background check and they said it takes about 10 business days to process and then I can pick up my gun. After 2 weeks or about 10 business days I called the store to follow up and the person on the phone said background check is still processing. Ok fine no problem. I waited another week - so 3 weeks total now and called back again. Person on the line said still pending and they will call me when it's ready. I figured perhaps the covid19 crisis possibly had an affect on background checks so I decided just be patient. About 2 weeks after that so 5 weeks after initial purchase I called yet again and was out on hold for almost 10 minutes. They said the local authorities still hadn't completed my background check and they'd call me. I know it wasn't getting held up on me I have a top secret government clearance. So now on April 28 I went Into the store in person and asked what's going on (this is like 7 weeks post purchase) and was told my background check is expired. I asked what that means and he said it was complete and I never picked up my gun. I said you guys never called me and he didn't seem to believe what I said. I asked what number they called and he said whatever I wrote down, which was my cell. I literally never received a call. I asked if I could order another glock and he said no glocks can be ordered right now cause the lockdown. Seriously? I asked if I could have a refund and I guess didn't assume I had paid for it already. He looked it up and issued a refund for $595. He was completely unapologetic during this whole process, I'm under the impression he didn't believe me that I didn't get any calls or that I had called the store 3 times. I did get the refund. This is a horrible way to deal with customers and I will never set foot in this store again they're either extremely unorganized or what may have happened is they put a stop on glock orders and someone went hey this guys glock is sitting here and his background check isn't done yet so they sold it to make a profit cause demand shot up. read more

I let the guy at the counter in the gun shop know I was unhappy and told him they should change the hours on the website. Disrespectful. Prior to shooting, the range cashier asked me what I was shooting and I said it's an AR, he proceeds to ask if it's a 5.56. I said no it's a .300blk, he says "perfect" then he tells us that we have to wait downstairs due to the lanes being full. ...we waited for nearly TWO hours... The MAJOR problem was that there was another party that came in about an hour after us--while we were still waiting-- and they were able to get a lane before us! Really? After a painfully long wait we get called for our lane. The cashier checks my AR and I was questioned by him like I didn't know what I was shooting..because I had 5.56 magazines with my .300blk--the only gun I brought in and planned to shoot--it seemed like he thought I was going to buy 5.56 even though we clearly confirmed beforehand that it's a .300blk. Interesting seeing the bad reviews, some of which were posted this year. I've been to the range probably 5 times in the last 4 years, and never had a bad experience. It was a standard gun range, not too crowded, you go there and shoot targets in doors. Today Casey at the front desk let us get on the wait list because they were full, and called me when my spot was open, no problems. After shooting I went to the store section, and the guy there showed me what options they had for a hunting shotgun, and even suggested I compare it to a competitor nearby which was very nice. I don't know man, I've never had a problem with this place. If you had a bad time with the hours, or with the wait, maybe try calling before you drive over? read more

Good indoor range. Rules are a good balance between a free for all (unsafe) and overly strict. It's been under new onwership (along with the store downstairs) and the new owners are fantastic. The ventilation system works, the range is cleaner, and has been updated. They are working on improvements instead of being stagnant. Ammo prices are good... well as good as you'll get inside the city limits with the silly tax. There is a firearms instructor who has an iffice there and uses the range. Not part of Bullseye, but uses their space. I'm assuming he rents the space from them. Convenient for both kf them and students. read more

Customer service is "Professional" and "Civil". In a crisp military manner. If you seem to be knowledgeable about firearms and weapons in general, the staff will talk your ear off. BUT, if you're an ordinary person off the street that doesn't know much about guns or weapons..... THEN, you get treated very differently. Your questions get answered with the bare minimum of information. And with ice cold civility. Just enough to make the sale and get you out the door . Unless you're a vet that knows their stuff, be prepared to get the cold shoulder. I've seen a lot of mixed reviews of this place, so I hope my review as a first time handgun shooter and someone who hasn't fired a weapon in seven years will be as unbiased and helpful as possible. My fiancée and I walked in and were greeted by the staff at the counter (upstairs at the range). They asked if we're first time shooters, to which we replied yes in regards to handguns. They asked if we had ANY shooting experience; I'm prior military and my fiancée had shot a rifle before, so that was good enough for him. After we signed in, we explained that we're in the market for a handgun and wanted to shoot different ones to see what would fit us best. The salesman recommended many different pistols that we took to the range and had a blast with. We left, still undecided, but willing to try more. The next week, we return and we're greeted by the same people in the same friendly manner as the first time. We tried out a few more handguns, then went downstairs to the shop to look around, where the staff there were also friendly and helpful, and recommended other pistols he thought would be just as good as what we liked. We eventually bought a pistol from them and went right back upstairs to try out our brand new pistol! Overall, I've had an awesome time there, and I even got an annual membership there. I'm only leaving out one stair because I do wish the range was a bit more well-kept, but it's not enough to deter me from coming back. I'd absolutely recommend them! read more

My husband works in law enforcement and tagging along to shoot at Bull's Eye has been part of our routine for about 14 years now. We think of it as a no thrills, run of your mill range. However, he has noted that with some new staff the quality of customer service has gone down significantly over the course of the last couple years. However, because of our loyalty and convenience we went there so I can start being a big girl, take a class, and get my weapon! And here is where the poor customer service comes into play. The class its self was good, but the instructor is a contractor. My background check sat in a pile for over a month, with no follow-up calls and no information given to us when we called, which was every week. In the fifth week and irritated at this point, we were told, "good news come down." Apparently, the good news was now I had to re-submit the paperwork-really? The guy was very dismissive to my husband, who rightly so was irritated and asking why they did not say what happened, and noted it appeared as if it just sat there in an enormous pile, not touched. Then the staff member blamed it on the police department, for not getting back to them... We went out to Wades, which is out of our way, but he has an affiliation with someone he used to work with. Wow, what a difference, we were actually greeted with a smile and a "what can we do for you," rather than getting the "you are an inconvenience" attitude we get at Bull's eye. And guess what, we found out the gun was actually recalled because of a firing pin issue. The staff was shocked that Bull's Eye never said anything to me, because Wade's guns were being repaired and out of stock for a couple weeks. Also, I received an education on some complaints about the gun, and saw something comparable, WITHOUT having to pay for a class. Now at Bull's eye, this is not the case. I had to pay for a class to try the guns- 9 days later I get a call from Bull's Eye stating my back ground had cleared. Interesting how the time was so short this go around. When I asked about the firing pin, I was told, "oh we were going to tell you when you picked up the gun," Then he seemed irritated with me when I asked what I am supposed to do, and then he gladly told me I would have to return it to Smith and Wesson for repairs, because it was too much trouble for them to do it. I won't cuss right now, but I felt like it then, and as I write this review. He then lied to me stating, "we just found out about it, like 5 days ago." Moral of this story, besides lazy, incompetent, and rude staff, that are full of BS. Go to a place that is a bit nicer, treats you like they care you are spending a lot of money in their establishment, this could have caused an injury to myself or at minimum even more time and headache. I've visited and shot at many ranges both indoor and outdoor. Bullseye is certainly not the nicest, or most modern and up to date. The ventilation could be better, the booths could use some more light. However it's convenient, open 7 days a week with long hours, and you can shoot rain or shine. When you go in be prepared most times for a long line. Right now firearms are more popular than ever, and this place stays packed from my experience the past couple months I've been going. The gentlemen working the counter with a pony tail is extremely courteous and professional. His only fault, sometimes he can talk a little too much with as many customers there are waiting. The other kid working there, well depends on if you catch him on a bad day or not. Be prepared for a couple things. First they hold your drivers license while you shoot, regardless if you rent a firearm or not. I personally don't care, but some people get bent out of shape on this one. Second, and my biggest gripe, they charge a $5 "lane clean-up fee" if you don't buy at least $10 of stuff (ammo, targets, etc) from them on each visit. Personally I laugh about paying them to clean-up because I reload so when I leave the bay is clear of every single brass in sight. For me each visit runs about $30 for lane fee, box of 9mm ammo, 2 targets, and tax. That's pretty spend, and if I continue to frequent Bullseye I'm going to signup for a membership. $200 and shoot all you want, no fees whatsoever. read more

Over the past few years I've made several trips to the dingy Bulls Eye lanes, and I've talked to the sales people on many occasions for quotes on firearms. The shop's prices are competitive, but the range (at about $18 for two people at one lane) isn't one of my top choices for bustin lead. ------------------------ THE RANGE ------------------------ * The Lanes: The lanes have the standard automated target holders and table space. Compared to the other local ranges, Bulls Eye is in desperate need of maintenance and remodeling. The backstop seems to be of an obsolete design, I saw someone shoot one of the panels off. There are tons of holes and scratches on the walls & ceiling. The lighting is a bit dim. The sound dampening could be a lot better, because there is a echoing blast with every shot. * The Rentals: There is a wide selection; however on my last visit many of the handguns were "out for maintenance." There are a few nice 1911s (Kimber & Springfield) that are about $12 a rent. * Location: The parking lot is fairly small, a section of it is reserved for the cafe across the lot. I'm not a fan of the "aroma from Tacoma." * Customer Service: The staff that I've talked to was always laid back and glad to help out. However, I really don't like my range bag being inspected. I called to ask for a age limit at this range, the person on the phone said no age limit so I brought my son in. Went inside the employee over the counter ask how old my son was. I said 7 and he said the age limit is 8. I wasn't about to argue over a 1 year age difference. Sounds like that he didn't want my business. The shooting rang here is your typical shooting rang, not the best, but not the worst with that being said, still a good indoor shooting rang to shoot guns here, The staff here is very friendly and helpful and seem to know there stuff, so if your looking for a indoor shooting rang in the Tacoma area, I would suggest this place. read more

I stopped by here on my way home today to pick up some projectiles. This is not my normal supplier but needed some for tomorrow. I haven't been in this store since March of 2012, where I'm embarrassed and to say, worked for a month (passing time before working overseas). It's under new ownership and I'm glad. The salesperson who helped me today (I believe his name is Pham) was friendly, knowledgeable and NOT your typical pushy buy something or else I'm not helping you type. That was refreshing since I've worked in this business before and have been on both sides of the counter. I didn't have a chance to peruse the entire store so I'm not able to give a full review of firearms, product, etc, but will back to do so. Based on my current trip here and the service I received, the decent prices, and the fact that veterans are included in the LE/Military discount, I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Tacoma.
