A long, long time ago in a galaxy... just kidding. One of our buddies had sent a picture of him and his wife chilling outside enjoying a frosty drink. Told us we had to try this spot someday with the guys. Well, many months later it hasn't happened yet, but us two of the five finally made it! We were on our way back from the cabin on the east side of the mountains, and we did a quick search of some areas near North Bend. Well, this popped up and we were reminded of the recommendation. So off we went. We were pleasantly surprised and this little hidden gem is definitely unique. It definitely took me a moment to figure out the ordering process. For anyone who's trying this for the first time, when they tell you go to any location in there to order food, they are serious. I ended up going to the coffee station and placed our order there. But they have bars throughout the area and you can order at any one of those stations as well. We ended up ordering the Bigfoot Burger with the Sidewinder Fries. WOW! Definitely a plate full and doesn't leave you hungering for more. We also had the Black Bean Dip appetizer. The burger was cooked to perfection, with slight pinkness (how I love it) but my favorite were the fries. Maybe it's weird but yeah... them fries were top notch. You don't have any waiters, but the service was great. It was plenty busy, with a lot of activity outside. Can't even tell you what an absolute surprise this place was!! Right off the highway in what felt like the middle of nowhere and some of the best food we've ever eaten!! Kudos to the chefs here that made a great buffalo salad, Mac n cheese with brisket, and a brisket sandwich for some tired travelers. And let's not forget the amazing s'mores at the table! I was truly blown away at this place and would make a trip back just to eat here again! The staff were so friendly and put so much effort into creating a welcoming vibe. The place felt so remote but it was bustling - obviously a favorite with locals and travelers alike. This place is amazing!! Every time we're in the area we stop in with the kids - lots to keep them busy. The food is delicious and regularly rotates, and the beer selection is top notch. We rarely go out to eat. We decided to check out this place as we are heading home from hiking at Rattlesnake Trailhead. My husband had the BBQ Brisket Sando and I had the Chicken Curry. Did not disappoint! Would we be back, maybe. Not because we did not like the food but because it is kinda pricey for us to be eating out. This is one of those "treats". A group of 40 of us arrived here for a dinner barbecue buffet, and it was fabulous! We had tender brisket, moist barbecued chicken, a wonderful barbecue sauce, creamy macaroni and cheese to die for, homemade potato chips, coleslaw, and rolls. Wow! We also opted to order two desserts: chocolate chip cookies and their lemon tart. Both were exceptional and enjoyed. A beautiful setting; it's almost like a park outside. Been here for dinner before but came for brunch for the first time. We came in on a Saturday and it was busy but didn't hinder our experience and our food and drinks still came out pretty fast. I had a bloody mary to drink which was delicious! For my meal I had the eggs benny. It wasn't bad, well poached eggs but the hollandaise sauce was lacking. Came by South Fork after a hike in the area and was so happy about it because it's been a spot that has been on my list for a minute. Good vibes and good food after a hike? Can't beat it! We tried the black bean dip, the brisket mac and cheese, and the chicken sandwich. Everything was delicious! I liked the bean dip more than I expected, and the crumbled feta on top was a great addition. The brisket in the mac and cheese was my favorite item we tried by far - lots of flavor and very tender! My boyfriend also enjoyed his chicken sandwich, although it was a little on the small side. They have a good selection of beverages here as well as a limited liquor selection as well as beers & ciders. After we ate we walked around with our drinks to explore the property a little bit and there's a fun detached, heated seating area with a large television. Slow. I was on my way back into Seattle Labor Day weekend and wanted a place to get food that had outdoor dining that my dog could sit next to me. Was not aware this location is a bar with a kids play section in the back. It lines a disc golf course that lets kids run as far as they can while being close to tables the parents can sit at. Order at the counter and find a table; while the kids play on the big slingshot and sand pit. The never ending beeping that people's food was ready; was at least better than the ongoing announcements about "you forget one of your items Mr last order to come get your stuff". I thought this would be a quick stop to get some casual food but it turns out they wanted me to get several rounds of drinks while i waited for my (albeit fresh and healthy) food. read more

We saw the beautiful outdoor seating on Yelp and thought, we have to try after our hike at Franklin Falls! Basically it's all self serve -- you order your food at the front/main cashier and then they also have a back bar to order to drinks. They give you a buzzer and when it buzzes, your order is ready! Depending on the drink you want, it'll either be at the front or the back, anything from beers, kombucha, non-alcoholic to wines and ciders! Their food is AMAZING! They did run out of the Chef Wins dish which is basically a roasted pork shoulder that had caught my eye. However, the Heirloom salad was VERY FRESH, from the perfect heirloom tomatoes to the salad greens, the Burrata cheese and the roasted cut up chicken (extra $6 btw for the chicken) was so worth it! I also got the manilla clams and those were *chefs kiss* fresh tomatoes, herbs and with sourdough crisp bread...sooo delicious! Loved the grapefruit kombucha, I wanted to try another drink or at least get another but will have to wait until next time! My bf loved his shammwich which is a tuna sandwich. It came with a side salad too (I think you can choose sidewinder fries, salad and another item of choice as a side!) They have a BIG field for disc golf and they have some games like throwing the balls and catching them, kids loved them. Their service format is unorthodox but that really lends to the appeal: you order up front and self seat with a buzzer that tells you when your food is ready. Want to visit a place with a community vibe surrounded by nature. This place fits the bill. We were warmly greeted when we walked up to order. Placed our order and were given a buzzer. It was a chilly day so the inside seats were pretty full. We headed out to an enclosed patio where i saw these amazing lights!! Despite being in the patio, we were quite comfortable. Nice selection of choices were offered and the food was delicious. Im definitely looking forward to returning and exploring more of the menu. We stopped in here hiking Rattlesnake Ledge. It is very close to the trailhead and therefore was convenient for fueling up after the hike. We really enjoyed the food options, as the menu had some really creative items on it. The food was absolutely delicious, made with quality ingredients and interesting flair (horseradish sauce with corned beef hash, for example. Unexpected and unusual but absolutely delicious). The coffee was also very tasty. The ambiance was nice. It is a beautiful open space with wood accents and nice natural light coming from many windows. The place loses a star as they are charging pretty high prices for fairly small portions. In addition, you place your order at the counter and pick your food up when your buzzer goes off. You also have to get your own water, utensils, condiments, and bus your table. So, you are paying higher prices and serving yourself. I don't mind paying higher prices if I am being served but when it is self service I feel like the prices should reflect that with a little lower cost. My better half and I were traveling from Tacoma to Leavenworth and looked up an eatery on the fly. South Fork was revealed as the eatery to try. She-who-must-be-obeyed ordered the Brisket Mac 'n Cheese accompanied by a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. I eagerly ordered the Fried Chicken Sando. We shared a side order of Sidewinder Fries. We were richly rewarded by our respective dishes and both of us believe Sidewinder Fries were possibly the best fries we had ever eaten; crisp on the outside, perfectly soft on the inside. All was enjoyed from the bar seating in the gazebo pointed out by Luke as the best seats in the house. Our perch allowed us to enjoy the sun, soft breeze and view of locals, their children and fellow travelers experiencing all on offer at South Fork. Whether you're traveling East to West, West to East along I-90 you could not do yourself a greater favor than supping at South Fork. Right off the highway in Northbend, is a very relaxed, pet friendly place to eat and get your sport on! The staff and service are always friendly and welcoming. It is right next to a frisbee golf field with a giant launcher. We got the chicken caesar salad which was very average, not a lot of dressing, chicken was dry, 2.5 stars. Beautiful place that is dog and family friendly. We were driving from the East side and stumbled upon this gem of a place. It backs up into the compass adventure lawn and is extremely open and expansive. Food was good and a bit pricey but worth it for the awesome environment. We had the chicken sandwich ($19) with fries. Chicken sandwich was great - spicy, salty and savory with great crunch and the brisket which was also good. Def the vibe and view make the experience worth it.
