You can also tell it is a beloved location as it was getting quite busy and there were children, dogs, and adults enjoying the space and time with one another. We got two 10oz Diamond Knot root beers which was divine! I recently started drinking root beer from breweries and I am a huge fan, as I think brand named root beer is gross. The drink paired really well with our soul food order. The bartender was really polite and seemed to be good friends with his regulars which is a good sign. What really stood out was the owner working behind the bar. He was attentive, friendly, and genuinely engaged with guests, constantly checking in and making conversation. So I paid for a lb of brisket (@ $39), didn't get any pulled pork, and it was the fattiest brisket I've ever received.
