The man running the taps, who I can only assume is the owner, is boisterous, friendly, and ON TOP OF THINGS. He'll ask you what you normally drink, give you some samples, and hook you up with the right beer. I tried to give him a card and he just said "just let me know how many you've had before you leave, I trust you!". You really feel like you're at some sort of family get together. Oh, and the views of Rainier from the patio are stellar! Unlike almost all other breweries in the PacNW, this one is not stocked chock full of insufferable, apathetic, hipster and post-hipster types. The crowd here is largely blue collar: truckers and farmers, Carhart and coveralls, construction workers and men-at-work signs. Which, again, is refreshing for a brewery. Beer is for everyone, not just beardos at coffeeshops with macbook pros that "work in tech". My only qualm is that I feel like the beer is just OK. It wasn't bad or anything, but it also didn't blow me away. Most of the beers were a little too much on the sweet and malty side (even the IPA) for what I usually like to drink. (which is stuff that is really pale, dry, and bright) The irony of my sounding like one of those disaffected beer bro stereotypes I just criticized earlier in the review is not lost on me though so...take what I say with a grain of malted grain.

I don't know if it's there all the time, but when I stopped in, there's a Mexican food truck in the front parking lot. Once you've seen it it not hard to miss, as it's the only shop with all the doors wide open and a good sized covered patio area. Walking through the entrance, the decor stands out right away, growler jugs, hanging from the ceiling from breweries from all over the country, along with a lot of cool animal wood sculptures and memorabilia for honoring Veterans and history. I believe the bar tender was also the owner or one of them? Very friendly and helpful with the selections. Taking time to answer questions, even on a surprisingly busy Thursday afternoon. Lots of seating throughout the inside and on the patio area. They specialize in unfiltered brews, which I like, as it gives a full flavor to most beers you may not get, if they're over filtered, another one of those balancing acts that those workers of brewing magic deal with. I started off with a Amber lager, full tasting with the crispness of a lager, a flavorful change from the usual amber ales. The place had a cool old dudes vibes due to all the memorabilia and the old van in the shop, but definitely wasn't just an old dudes place, as a few of the younger crowd was enjoying a brew while working remote. Plan on a return trip on a weekend to check out the weekend vibe, try the food truck, and more of their tasty unfiltered beers. I also tried their Red Ale, which was also robustly flavored and went down smoothly. Gotta love those reds! Their website was easy to navigate to find out which food truck would be there and when. We ordered our food first then handed inside to warm up before picking up our order. The space was really spacious and nice. The vibes were warm and cozy with a large TV projector screen playing sports, good music and all types of seating and tables. They have a dog water bowl near the front where you can also get water with clean cups nearby too! You can also tell it is a beloved location as it was getting quite busy and there were children, dogs, and adults enjoying the space and time with one another. We got two 10oz Diamond Knot root beers which was divine! I recently started drinking root beer from breweries and I am a huge fan, as I think brand named root beer is gross. The drink paired really well with our soul food order. The bartender was really polite and seemed to be good friends with his regulars which is a good sign. I asked him where we should put the drinks and he politely let me know to the side of where he served me would be great and there is a sign to put empty glasses as well. We will look forward to visiting when we can as we are all the way from Tacoma but it is definitely worth coming back to!

Like most folks I assume, we ordered from the truck outside the main entrance, got our meal, sat down inside and enjoyed some tasty beverages and great food. Also bought a bottle of their Jumbleberry to take home. Decent prices for sure. Absolutely loving the environment with what, a brewery, smash burger truck, distillery, and a wine bar all within a parking lot proximity. I started at the top thinking I'd be "responsible" and work my way down methodically like a scientist. By page two my handwriting in my notes app had degraded into something a forensic analyst would call "concerning." By page three I was just pointing at words and nodding. Once we had our fill of cider and burgers, we strolled across the parking lot and wandered into this little gem. Right away, my buddy and I shared a flight of whiskies while pondering life. Well... actually, pondering why I haven't heard of this place before and I can't wait to bring the queen of my empire here! I actually bought a couple of bottles of the Cold Brew Whiskey to take to her in Texas. She'll be so happy as much as I was when I first tasted this. We tried some of the locals finest and even had a Cold Brew Iced Whiskey with some caramel sauce... SO DAMN GOOD! We also had the Blackberry Bramble! Dudes!!! Dangerously refreshing! We went and ordered in a modular structure and then enjoyed our beer outside but with lots and sturdy canopies in case it rained. I had two beers here. One was the Thrasher IPA which had a nice bite to it but nothing too "off the chain". Dark Days was the other beer I had which was a fine brown ale that I ordered which proved to be enjoyable. This brewery is a little way out of Bonney Lake but the outing is worth it!
