We went to Levitate Gastropub in Issaquah for dinner with friends last night and had a fantastic experience. The restaurant wasn't very busy when we arrived, but it filled in nicely as the evening went on, giving it a great, relaxed vibe. Our server Ryan was awesome--super engaging, genuinely helpful, and pretty funny. Just an all-around solid human being who made the night even better. The food was the best I've had at Levitate. I had the Korean fried chicken sandwich, which was outstanding, paired with a Matchless Hopper IPA that was spot on. My wife ordered the quinoa salad and absolutely loved it. The wine selection was very good as well. With a board racer Merlot. From the food to the service to the ambience, everything hit the mark. We really enjoyed the company, the setting, and the overall experience. Definitely a five-star evening and a place we'll happily return to. read more

We've come here a couple of times. Parking wasn't too much of a problem this weekend. Even when the zombie event was going on. It would be a little more challenging over Main on a sunny day. Who knows. Place looks like a bar. It's small, but there are more tables downstairs. Kitchen is upstairs. Interesting for all staff having to go up and down with all the food. If you have a big party, I would definitely go downstairs. I know it is going to be next to the restrooms, but there is a bit more room. Staff has always been very friendly as well as alm customers :) Service was fast. Weve tried their burgers. Specially the gorgonzala which was tasty, and wings. Have to say that they are good. I was a regular Levitate for over 10 years. I've hosted birthday parties, sat at the bar, taken first dates there. My recent visit was absolutely the worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant in 40 years. I walked in for dinner and the waitress demanded I order at the bar before seating me. I had to ask for a table, had to ask for a drink order, got my food and it was grossly undercooked. No one came to check on my food, again I had to walk to the bar to report the issue since no one seemed to care about my experience. I waited for another 15 mins, was offered a glass of wine due to the wait. I accepted, expecting the restaurant to comp something for the lousy service and the uncooked meat. I got my food, ate it, waited for the check, no one checked on me. Finally went back to the bar for the third time to ask for the check. No discounts, no apologies, nothing. I explained that I would like to be compensated for having to send the food back and having to bring it myself. The bartender said she could not and would not comp me. Said she could call her manager or call the cops. She threatened me. I asked to speak with a manager and she said the manager would take her side and said she wouldn't call him. I said in that case there would be no tip. She proceeded to cuss me me out, told me to fuck off and never come back. I said the lack of tip was because I didn't feel valued as a customer which she reflected. Loudly yelling in the restaurant and calling me names. I was embarassed for her. Her unwillingness to take accountability is disgraceful. Her swearing juvenile. The food has gone downhill and the service worse. She asked me to do her a favor and not come back. NO PROBLEM! Go where you are valued, well served, considered and spoken to kindly. This was an abusive experience and she was not tipped for this reason. read more

This review isn't about the food, because unfortunately we never got the chance to try it. We were in town for the Father's Day car show and walking around with friends who had just finished eating here. They were telling us how great the food was, so after walking them back to their car, we decided we'd come back for a meal. Before heading back, we needed to use the restroom. We stopped in, thought the restaurant was really cute, and the food looked delicious. As we were leaving to say goodbye to our friends, the bartender loudly called out asking if we needed a table. We replied that we weren't ready yet but would be back. He then loudly made a rude comment about us not using their restroom. The interaction was embarrassing and completely changed our impression of the restaurant. There were no public restrooms available for the event, and we genuinely intended to return for lunch after saying goodbye to our friends. Instead, we chose to eat elsewhere because of how we were treated. Customer service is just as important as good food. A little kindness would have turned us into paying customers that day--and likely repeat customers in the future. I hope this was an isolated incident, because the restaurant itself looked charming and came highly recommended by our friends. read more

We visited Levitate recently with some friends and left impressed. The drinks were fantastic, the food was solid, and the atmosphere was fun--especially for a smaller pub in Issaquah. That said, the service could use a little polish. When we first walked in, it wasn't clear whether we should wait for a host or seat ourselves. The entryway is pretty tight, so we ended up just standing there for a minute before deciding to grab seats at the bar to get out of the way. With several staff behind the bar and the place not looking too busy, a simple greeting or a bit of direction would've gone a long way. Once we were settled, the service was fine, but those first moments really shape an experience. A bit more attentiveness could easily be the difference between Levitate being a "nice spot to drop by now and then" and a place you'd go out of your way to revisit. If you're looking for something a bit elevated in the way of standard pub food and drink, this might fit the bill. read more

My best friends and I are trying to explore more local places in Issaquah and have never tried a gastropub so we were excited to check out Levitate. We loved how busy it was; the atmosphere really gave off local dive bar vibes, and they were even playing Sound of Music on the TV. We were seated immediately upon entering. Our server, Nova was super welcoming and friendly, she took care of our table all night and made sure we had everything we needed the entire time we were there. I am a pretty picky eater, and Nova helped me order a custom burger that I would enjoy. I don't know if it was magic or if she just subconsciously remembered my tastes from when we sat at lunch together in eighth grade, but the burger was absolutely fantastic, and I definitely want to go back with my family for another. The fries that came with all our burgers were also absolutely delicious. I loved how flavourful they were, and I found myself unable to stop shoveling them in my mouth. For dessert, my friends and I split the Chocolate Chip Cookie and the Bread Pudding because I honestly couldn't decide which one I wanted more. I've been to Levitate several times and always forget to take pictures. The food is great, I have been there for Brunch and Dinner. Lots of options and service is always attentive. I was actually surprised the last time I was there, the waitress remembered my boyfriend and I from our last visit several months ago. This really is a 3.5 star place. But, their service bumped this review up to a 4. First off, this is a "pub" so I will start with the drinks. Beer and wine options were good but their whiskey/bourbon special menu was excellent! I got to enjoy Blanton's yesterday. Lots of local WA brews and wines (by the glass). Prices were very good. Just an FYI - This place does not carry Fireball! We wanted to buy a couple of shots as a punishment for someone that lost a bet but our server told us they did not have it! But hey, their whiskey/bourbon specials more than made up for this. We were a group of 10+ so we got to try a few different shared plates and some were good and some were not good. Our favorite was the Smoked Honey Habanero BBQ prawns. It does not contain cumin but It had a similar consistency and flavor profile of a tomato forward curry dish you could find at an Indian restaurant. Chicken wings were good. Flatbread and tacos were all pretty average. I do not recommend the calamari bomb. Very odd mix of flavors. See attached photos for every shared plate we tried. The venue was quite cozy but surprisingly bigger than it appeared from outside. They also have an outdoor seating area but it wasn't open yesterday (it was very cold out). They do not take reservations but the employee that answered my phone (Joshua! thank you) was extremely helpful and actually gave me a call closer to the time I told him we would show up. He gave me a status update on the wait time, when the happy hour prices end, etc. I thought this was very very nice of him and he definitely went out of his way for this. It was packed for a Thursday evening. They had a TV but it was not on (and no one was there for a sporting event or anything). I thought they would have the Thursday night football on but oh well. Stopped by for an early dinner before a show at the Village Theater. They were busy but not at capacity. The staff were friendly and helpful. QR menus are not my favorite but I see the convenience. Loved that they had a nice selection of nonalcoholic options and I was able to try a new Athletic NA beer flavor. The Gorgonzola burger was delicious. The fries were good. Came here on a Saturday at 2pm with my husband. It was quiet as it was between meals. Sat at the window bar top and the bartender served us. He was friendly and attentive. We ordered the mango habanero wings and were told the kitchen was changing over so it would be an extra 5-10 minutes. It felt much longer. When they came, the presentation was great. The wings were cooked perfect; Juicy inside and crispy outside but there was no heat or pepper flavor. The mango sauce was very sweet, it would have been better if there was more spice to balance it. We also ordered the nachos as we were still hungry. The cheese is a sauce similar to alfredo. The pickled onions were bland. The jalapeños had zero heat or flavor. The guac tasted like an over-ripe avocado when it goes brown. Beer, service, atmosphere were highlights. After an iffy experience with their pasta, we decided to give this place another try. Came in on a busy Friday night without a reservation and were quoted about 20 minutes for a table. There is nowhere to wait, so we went for a cocktail somewhere else. They call you when your table is ready, which is convenient. Our service was consistently slower than we would have liked, but again, they were busy and I could tell that the server was trying to give us time-- it was just a little too much time. On to the food, we decided to start with the new maple gochujang brussel sprouts, they were great. My only issue was that they weren't consistent. The favor wasn't evenly distributed. I would still get them again though. My husband got the Gorgonzola burger and I got their version of a fried chicken banh mi. We've been to this restaurant twice - once for dinner and once for brunch. This place gets very crowded during the evening hours (even the bar was packed), so I'm not sure if they take reservations. We came as a couple and didn't have to wait long as we opted to sit outside. The dinner menu is vast and very interesting. We're looking forward to trying more of their menu. We were excited to learn that they had a brunch menu and made a point to visit in the morning. That being said, next time we won't arrive right at open. Since Levitate isn't known for being a breakfast place, seating was essentially completely open. The menu had a variety of selections from savory to sweet. Our only issue was it took our food 40ish minutes to arrive. Next time we visit for brunch, we'll definitely arrive later in the morning. Staff is always friendly and upbeat. Came here after a hike with some buddies. They had a large menu, and I ended getting the Buttermilk Brined Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich. I was honestly surprised how flavorful it was, the chicken was so good and crispy. I got it with regular fries which were kind of dry. My son's doctor's office is in Issaquah, so when we make it out to the area we make a point to try out a new spot for lunch. We had passed Levitate a few times and noticed how cute it looked and how it's family friendly, so decided to head in! It's bigger than we anticipated with plenty of indoor seating. There's outdoor seating out front with large garage style windows, and in the back there's covered patio seating (which is where we opted to sit). Cute ambiance and perfect for warm days! I got the appetizer flatbread, braised pork and hot pickled peppers. It was delicious, but a LOT more loaded than I expected. A little hard to eat but still good. My boyfriend also enjoyed the tacos. Overall, a great lunch spot that I'm sure we'll return to! read more

We come to this place at least once a week. I love the hummus platter. They change it every season. They have a nice list of different cocktails and a above average Whisky list. This is a great place to hang out at the bar especially in the summer when they roll up the garage style doors to the outside street. They also have a back patio to dine if the weather is nice. Just visiting the area and my wife and I did dinner on a Thursday at Levitate Gastropub with our daughter and her family. Had appetizers and enjoyed the hummus plate and large pretzels. Burgers were good and both the basic Levitate burger and the Gorgonzola burger are recommended. Kids had Mac and cheese, which was fair but could have been cheesier. Adults tried an array of beers. We pretty much agreed that the Amber lager and the hoppier of the IPAs were best. Fries were a little soggy, but the atmosphere was a fun and laid back, and the service was very good. Every month my co workers and I go for lunch at local business in the Issaquah, snoqualmie area. We are a racially diverse group of professionals who enjoy good food, good company and love to laugh. We chose Levitate Gastropub yesterday. It was a beautiful day the sun was shining. When we arrived the place had a few customers. Our waitress was unwelcoming and looked under the influence and or miserable. She never smiled. The first person to arrive ordered brusselsprouts (they were amazing when they finally arrived.) I arrived about 45 minutes after her and the brusselsprouts didn't arrive until after we all arrived and we had to ask about them several times and our meals arrived. The waitress seemed more worried about going out to vape than serve our table. We were in the back of the restaurant by the garage door which was open. The waitress ignore our requests for various items numerous times. Even though she passed our table on her way to vape out back. When she brought the food she stood at one end of the table and we had to hand food to the right people at the table. She wasn't friendly or nice or even pleasant to our group. She looked vacant most of the time. We thought maybe it was a bad day. We all have them. We then ordered bread pudding and waited a good 45 minutes when asked she came back and said they were out of bread pudding. I personally was only brought 1 drink from the bar but it was served by a very nice gentleman from the bar. We had to get up and get silverware from another table and never received any additional napkins, one of the people from our group got up and grabbed a stack from the water station. I was there from 2:30 to 5:30pm and was never offered another drink from the bar and ignored me when I tried to order another drink. The food was marginal at best the fish tacos said GF which we assumed meant gluten free, but the fish was breaded. The waitress never came back to see how we were doing or if we needed anything. So we traded meals. The food was marginal at best. The waitress was terrible. We spent probably 450$ all together and were charged a 20% tip as a group. Another waitress was serving the area by us and was very pleasant. She even took several pictures of our group when asked. We ultimately left the restaurant. As we left we see our waitress smiling laughing and talking with people at other tables. We all left the building feeling like we had been treated poorly because we were a racially diverse group. The service we received was unacceptable and this waitress needs to do better for your restaurant. We won't be back and won't recommend this establishment to other. We definitely wouldn't have left a 20% tip she didn't deserve it and needs to better. Open to talk if you have questions. This waitress is bad for business. read more

Loved this place pre-covid and for take out during covid. Came back tonight and I have mixed feelings. Service was attentive and friendly but we waited a while after being seated before anyone came and talked to us. Food took longer than usual but it was busy! Fish tacos were okay. Prime rib and Mexican street corn were amazing!! Ceviche and kale salad also very good. Kids mac and cheese was also very good but wondering if kids meals usually come with a side of some kind of fruit/veggie? I like that they change up their menu fairly often but keep their staples. Levitate serves amazingly delicious and creative shareable plates sure to status any palate. The Maple Gochujang Brussels are the tastiest brussel sprouts my wife and I have ever eaten. The cranberries were a surprisingly delicious addition. The Tuna Tartare was also a spectacular fusion of flavors. We also loved the Roasted Shisito Peppers and the seasonal salad. I think the experience was pretty okay. Service-wise, staff was super nice, albeit the place was busy, but drinks and food came out pretty quickly. They serve you a large water glass, so you can refill your own water. Food wise- we got the chicken wings with the cherry bomb buffalo coating, Brussels sprouts, and the pretzels. The wings were good, although the one I just happened to grab still had like little barbs from the wing left on... which look, it comes from a live animal so there is bound to be some live animal pieces that make it in. So you know that wasn't like super appetizing, but the flavor was still good. Not very spicy, but good. It could have been a bit crispier which would be more to my taste, but the chicken was cooked well, it wasn't dry so overall not a bad wing at all. The Brussels sprouts were a total hit, taste great, very large serving and totally fulfilling. I would probably recommend doing away with the cheese topping, which didn't do a whole lot for the taste and was kinda stale or maybe even part of the rind, maybe add in some nuts for a nice texture juxtaposition. The pretzels~ I was expecting the pretzel loaf many people have pictures of, but these were just pretzels that I don't think were hand made, but it would be nice if they were. The mustard/butter was definitely the star of the show, but I somehow wish it was more mustardy. The beer cheese thing, that got touched once and it wasn't as big of a hit, the cheese had seized and it just looked very grainy and not appetizing. Looking around, the burger and Caesar salad looked good. If I ever came here again I would probably just go with that. Otherwise, I'd probably only recommend the sprouts. As per ambiance, it was fine. Nothing spectacular. The place was clean and there was outdoor seating. Not much shade, and the building next to the patio seating readied of cigarette smoke. This is a place I like to drop into once in awhile for a drink or two and to catch part of a game in between doing other things on Front St. It's a fairly spacious restaurant with a bar. They have a couple of cool seating areas by the front windows which are like very little garage doors that open in the summer and there is a patio in the back. They have a couple TV's above the bar and a couple in the general dining area. Most gastropubs I've been to tend to be a bit darker and good evening to nighttime places, but this place is bright and really caters well to the daytime. They always have a good rotation of beers, they make good cocktails - I especially like their Manhattans and Espresso Martinis, and also great whisky options. The service is always friendly and the right amount of talkative at the bar. Admittedly, I've only had the food a couple times. I really liked the fish and chips, and they come in a big shareable portion. If you are looking for some day time good times to either sit at the bar or come in with a group, this is a great place for that! read more
