Delicious food, large portions. Service prompt & helpful. Nice patio. Plenty of seating.

Atmosphere was really nice! Beautiful facility. Service was good. Unfortunately, food was not good. My husband and I ordered the bbq platter. The meat was decent, but the sides were terrible. Coleslaw and baked beans had not flavor at all. I wish I was exaggerating. They included a biscuit with the platter which I literally had to laugh at the first bite. It tasted like dough, literally dough. No butter, no flavor, nothing. Very disappointed in the food. It lacked flavor all around. I really wanted to like it but if I return, it will be for drinks only and the outside atmosphere. read more

Great beer & pizza! The service is fast, even when they're packed. I love the ambiance and open layout. Make a reservation.

I loved this place at first; great ambiance, friendly service, good food (although not the best selections overall), great beer, cocktails, meh. The charcuterie board is very nice. But I have been disappointed lately, mainly in food selections, and quality (greasy or fatty). Prices going up and up. ($13 for a soft pretzel is a lot, although it is good, but was better smaller for $4). And they need to get new boxes for leftovers. The limited menu is always changing, which is ok, but new items are often too odd, eg. octopus. I read that you can only stay 90 minutes (read on their website after making a reservation). Would you be asked to leave? I have never heard of a policy like this. Is this normal? read more

Disappointed on this visit. Ribs were room temperature and the pulled pork was fatty. The beer, however, was excellent.

We recently visited South County for a birthday celebration. We live in an area of Chester County that features a lot of great breweries, which are always my reference point. With that said, South County is the real deal. The taproom is beautiful, large and spacious, with comfortable indoor and outdoor seating. The serving staff was attentive and helpful. We started with the beer cheese charcuterie plate, which was generous and delicious. The brisket platter was also first rate, with all of the meat smoked on the premises. Finally, the beer alone was worth the visit. We tasted a nice variety of styles, including NE pale ales, IPAs and a stout. All were outstanding. If you want a one-stop destination for beer, bbq and a great vibe, you can't go wrong with South County. read more

Went on a Saturday night around 5 pm was quite busy and loud, highly recommend reservations, which I did. Service was fast ... got our app and beers quite quickly. After the rest, of the party arrived we ordered. When the food arrived out of dishes only 3 arrived at the 6 It was a but til last dish arrived after bringing it to the waitresses attention. Food portion were good sized and were a bit salty considered its bar food read more

I can't say enough good things about this place. My girlfriend and I have been there three times now at different times of day for different things. We've been there for a snack and a couple beers, lunch with family, and tonite for her birthday dinner. Every time everything has been on point. The beers are exceptional. The food is on point every time. It's a smaller menu but they do that I feel so they can execute that menu to the highest quality possible. Tonite we had fried green tomatoes, scallop entree, and shrimp and grits and they were absolutely amazing! Don't sleep on their cocktails either. They are done very well. Anyone who has given this place a bad review I just don't understand. Like I said we've been there multiple times and they have exceeded expectations every time. Last but not least big shout out to our awesome server tonite Rachel. She was such a pleasure and very personable. read more

Great beer, food, service, and atmosphere. What more can you ask for? I've been here twice, and was quite happy both times. Awesome roast beef sandwich and French fries. I also really enjoyed the sour beer, too. Definitely recommend! read more

First off, the positives: the building, the great selection of beers and really good service. Now the negatives: the food. Had a pizza and it was over baked (I've had other brick oven pizza and this one was just not good). I had difficulty sawing through it with my knife and all the toppings were in the middle of the pie. The French onion soup: this was the first one that didn't have a layer of cheese on top...very, very little cheese in the soup but lots of chunks of overly chewy bread. The price: for soup, pizza, a soda = $40 (including tip). I know that inflation has affected everything but let's be real...if you want to charge this much for one person to dine...provide better prepared food by people who know how to make it. I'd like to go back but not until food quality and pricing improves. read more

Our server was friendly and attentive and drinks were amazing which constitutes the 2 stars. That being said, I ordered the pulled pork (for the second time) which was my mistake. It was very dry the first time and I felt ill after eating it several months ago and just dismissed it. I tried it again with the same experience and result. wondering if they make it far in advance and it is heated and cooled many times over making it dry and subject to bacteria. Burgers and pizzas have been great in the past. read more

Amazing beer. Super nice employees beautiful atmosphere. The menu looks outstanding, they gave us some samples since the kitchen was closed. Definitely more than just a brewery!! Highly recommend!!! read more

Food is inconsistent here! Last week we ordered our usual sausage pizza. It was loaded with red hot peppers that consumed the taste of the pizza. Pizza was not done enough, which is why I love a brick oven pizza -- it's well done and crispy. This pizza was not. Except for the peppers I couldn't taste anything else on the pizza. Need a break from this place. read more

Four people at a very small table was very uncomfortable. A terrible Manhattan. Ribs so dry slathered in sauce that didn't help. Our server was very pleasant but did not introduce herself so can't acknowledge her. Won't return. read more

This was one horrible dining experience. The only bright spot was our waitress, but since she did not introduce herself I cannot give her credit. We four adults were seated at a very small table better suited to a child's tea party... or medieval torture devices. The chairs were too hard ... there was no place to comfortably put our feet. We arrived early and many of the larger tables were empty. We asked for one but were told they were only for parties of six or more. When we left, 4 of those tables had only four people , or fewer, seated at them. The Manhattan was polluted with too much cherry juice and vermouth. The beers that we sampled were undrinkable. The ribs were dry, and as if in an effort to provide some moisture, slathered with too much bbq sauce. Do not fret... we will NOT be back... ever. read more

Food is great. Serving sizes are good for sharing unless you're really hungry! Beer is good albeit expensive. Bring a jacket, it's freezing cold in the dining room. read more

Excellent beer, food, and atmosphere! Looking forward to returning. We went on a busy Friday night and had reservations for a 10 top. Our waitress was very attentive. Played a little pinball, too, which was really fun. read more

I had high hopes for my first visit to this restaurant, but they were quickly dashed by the music that made dining at the outside tables less than pleasant. The menu is the oddest menu I have ever encountered, and I had to struggle to select something that sounded appealing except for the steak at $39. I chose the brisket which was okay. I first ordered a gin martini very, very dry. This turned out to be the most expensive martini I have ever had at $13. Because I wanted essentially no vermouth, I was charged extra for more gin - $8 for the martini and $5 for the gin, a brand of gin, by the way, that I had never heard of. I shall not try this restaurant again. read more

Not pet friendly. Actually not friendly at all. Do not recommend. Hostess was actually very off-putting.

Great new place to enjoy great food friendly service and locally brewed beer. Staff was efficient, food was delicious and Manager Matt was extremely inviting and friendly. Thanks for the great service. Highly recommend visiting this new establishment. Will be back for sure! read more

Atmosphere is amazing. Food for the price not as amazing. The beer cheese fondue had some great items. The beer cheese, which I had to ask what it was because it had no flavor was not great. At $19 I really should know what I'm getting. Got the the Rare Roast Beef sandwich. Needed more horseradish aioli and crispy onions. The fries were pretty amazing. I would come back to see if it gets better. Oh the beer was pretty good as well. read more

Beautiful brewery and amazing beer and pizzas! The service was great too and I got a 4 pack of IPAs to go that were super yummy! Firepits outside made the rainy day not so bad! read more

Food was just ok. Beer was pretty good. Worst part was the noise. It was so loud we had to scream at each other to be heard which ruined everything. Will not go back unless I can sit outside. read more

First, it's a sad shame that other reviewers think South County is only for IPA-lovers. They have MANY other options here. The beer is top-notch and the brewery itself is absolutely gorgeous and state-of-the-art. The atmosphere is beautiful and unlike any other brewery venue in York. I love that the outdoor space is covered, so that you can sit outside comfortably during the sweltering east coast summer. The service and menu seem to be improving with time, as everyone settles in. Definitely put South County in your rotation!!! read more

Thanks for the raw steak with the burnt crust , not worth the $60 you charged for it. You could have at least provided some sides to go with it. I've been to actual steakhouse that charges less for the cut and would not have served it both raw and burnt at the same time. read more

6pm reservations for 6 people. We were seated right away; the building was beautiful. Our server was taking our drink orders, took longer than I expected for simple order. She came back to take our appetizer orders. We ordered 3 appetizers. They were ok, nothing spectacular. The menu us very limited, not a big selection that I was expecting. We finished out appetizers, server told us she was coming back to refill our waters, with one of us drinking only water, that was appreciative. However, she didn't return with any. After a few times of passing our table, and we were the first table, so she passed by our table many times. I asked for her to bring water and she rolled her eyes out of her head. Finally returned with water refill. She took out meal orders and ordering 3 pizzas and 3 sandwiches, I would imagine that was not an order that would take too long. After waiting and watching people who arrived after us get their meals, we asked our server when we can expect our food, who held 2 thumbs up and told us "you're up next". Several more minutes went by and as she passed our table several more time and gave the 2 thumbs up and "you're up next....". It's now 7:30pm, Three of our meals arrived, 3 pizzas. A few minutes later 2 more meals ( burgers) arrive, one meal, the burger was rare and was ordered medium, the fires were cold. We asked were the 6th meals was and were told it was coming. The other meal, we asked for mayo and salt. The server, responded that "there is mayo on the sandwich". To which we responded, yes, we wanted extra and salt please. The server rolled her eyes again and sighed as she walked away. Server tells us they are shot staffed and she is sorry for the delay........ Now it being 7:45pm and we still had not been brought the last meal, I went to the bar and asked for a manger. I explained all of the above and that my husband being the ONLY black person in the establishment still had not received his meal. Manager offered to bring his meal right away and to give us all a gift card to come back. We waited until 8:00pm, TWO hours after arriving and my husbands meal was NEVER brought to the table. Another manager approached as we were walking out and ask why we were not paying for our meal. FIRST, we didn't get a meal and I am not paying for this terrible, disappointing and disrespectful service. I was told the server never entered the last meal and they were sorry. UM.... if she would have owned up to the mistake and figured that our an hour ago................ but now..... He also offered gift cards..... NO THANK YOU we will NOT be returning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Good beer, impressive inside, 2 bars, variety of foods, although a little pricey, offer drinks a big plus as my wife is not a beer drinker. Could make outside kid friendly and outside looks like unfinished. read more

Had. 5:00 reservation and was seated right away. The appetizers and pizza was good. However, way under staffed! The waitress never checked on us and we had to get up to get napkins, utensils and ketchup. If you're going to book tables please have the staff to handle it. We spent well over $100. Just sad for such a beautiful place read more

I am only rating the food since it was take out. I ordered the Cesar Salad and a side of Mac & Cheese. The salad which is $15 came with some breadcrumbs...and a small amount of Romaine lettuce. That's it..the Mac & Cheese had no taste. It was creamy but no taste. My family was in the restaurant business for many years and everything was homemade and tasted wonderful. Unfortunately not everyone has that talent. I hope the owners sit down with their chef and improve their menu and food because $21 was robbery for what I received. read more

I've been a big south county fan for years, and was really excited about this new location. The beer is great as usual, but I would only come here to grab a couple packs. the food is sub-par, especially considering the high prices. I was really hopeful that this could be a new addition to our top 10 local spots, but the bad food, small portions and high prices are enough that I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. read more

we got the charcuterie board, sausage pizza, and falafel burger and everything was great! the service was also really fast and it wasn't busy at all on a sunday night read more

South County - charcuterie board - Breweries Near Me - York, Pennsylvania

Beautiful building but... doesn't have the same feel/grounds as the other big building breweries in the area. Ok for a beer. Better like ipas-(my favorite) but there are too many of them!! Need more of a variety. Food is very over priced. $8 for 4 onion rings. 10 for fries. Husband got the pork belly for 26 dollars with no side, just a chunk of meat . Hoping for a great restaurant along with great brewery but I was not impressed with the restaurant portion. Wanted to love it but it was just ok read more

Very nice building for a brew pub. Food was unusually good and beer was solid. Can't wait for summer they have outside seating that looks great. read more

Had a reservation for Saturday night at 7:30. We were seated pretty close to that. Ordered beer. Got that relatively fast. Ordered food - 2 brisket sandwiches, a pizza, and a cuban sandwich. It was 8:30 or so until we got our food. Pizza was to have ricotta but had sour cream dollops - no ricotta. Cuban sandwich was mostly bread as was the brisket. Brisket pretty fatty put it in napkin. Cold soggy fries. Food flavor was OK. Too dark to read receipt which had charged us for 4 beers, one extra. We only had three and failed to realize until we got home in the light. $70(tip incl). I have gotten two delicious sandwiches and four beers other places for $25 -$30. Beers are mediocre. I have tried South County several times. Last time we ordered onion rings and got maybe 6 soggy rings. The building is very beautiful and a nice setting. Many people must like it as it was very full. Not for me. read more

Food was expensive. Pizza wasn't that great. 10 stars for the building itself. Noisy atmosphere.

This place is a really great on ambiance. Visually pleasing, beer is good. I've been there twice now and the food has been so-so both times. Every item that I e tried seemed to be missing the ingredient that took it over the top. I had pizza, Brussel sprouts, a burger, and the ancho Chile chicken sandwich. They were all fine, but not great. Service was super efficient. read more

Love the decor & vibe! It's a very hip environment, but noisy. We love the Brussel sprouts, onion rings, beer cheese and pizzas. They also serve a pretty solid burger. My husband has tried the chicken sandwich, Cubano and they're good, but lacking flavor. Could be improved with a little salt or spicy mustard on the cubano. Fish & chips is good, but perhaps a little overpriced. Desserts are pretty yummy! Cocktails are also good, but pricey. Definitely a cool place to meet up with friends! read more

Beer is good. Food is hit or miss. Service is great, just make sure you stay no longer than 90 minutes or they will ask you to leave because they need the table Reservations necessary. read more

Amazing location, inside looks really well put together. Their beer is really great as well! Huge downfall is the food, everything sounds good but the tastes are surprisingly very odd? The coleslaw tasted rotten, had a party of 10, 5 of us had meals that had slaw with it, none of us finished it off. The baked beans were oddly flavorless as well, first time I've never finished a side of baked beans in my life. If they can dial in the food options this place will be a local hotspot for years to come, and I hope they do because I loved the building. read more

Beautiful Place and good ambiance -only very loud and echos inside - expected with high ceilings and two levels. Friendly staff. Not sure about the hype or if I just chose poorly with what I ordered. The brisket was dry (bbq sauce was good and helped), beans and coleslaw no taste. The biscuits and Mac n cheese also disappointing with no taste. Mushroom pizza was decent. After eating there probably wouldn't try again. Having a small menu I thought they would have mastered the food which they do have. I'd still say Wyndridge Farm has a leg up. read more
