Beautiful brewery! Welcoming outdoor space with fire pits, great beer and food selections.

Great dinner with friends at South County on Saturday. Conveniently located off Exit 14 (Leader Heights) off I-83 in southern York. Plenty of parking. On entering, you walk through a large merch and cooler area, up to the host/hostess stand. Lots of long table/ beer cellar type seating bars on the first and second floor as well as outside. Portions are fairly large, pricing in line with other York restaurants. BBQ/ smoked foods are great. I tied the ribs, pork, and (homemade) sausage. Fresh cut fries are good. Make sure you get some beer pretzels with home made stone ground mustard. AWESOME! Our server , Joseph, was on top of it all night! Great job! 22% auto gratuity on large parties. I love the vaulted ceiling and hunting lodge type feel, my only negative is the noise. The venue is extremely loud, needs some sound dampening. Now the beer. I enjoy the majority of SCBs IPAs and rate them very high on Untapped. Tonight I had Riff Mountain. They also serve PA spirits and have a very good variety of mixed drinks. One of our favorite places in York and now in Lancaster!!! The venue is outstanding for date night or if you're having an event. The beer and cocktails are perfectly crafted. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu!!! But the brisket is my personal favorite!!!! read more

Beautiful brewery, great food menu, beer was ok. My friends and I went here for lunch and some brews after a nearby hike. We had a reservation, and we were early but they were able to seat us. If you're coming after maybe 1pm, definitely make a reservation because it gets packed. They have a large food menu, though some of the bbq stuff isn't available til after 4pm. We got a charcuterie style board to split, which was good but could've used more bread for the beer cheese! We all got various sandwiches and pizza. The brisket was actually pretty good! Came with tons of fries - I could not finish mine. Pizza was just ok. As far as the beer, it was good but ok. They don't have flights, which, for a micro brewery, is disappointing and nonsense. We are here to try your beers! They need to figure out how to get flights in here. The Virgil was good! I'd also like to see some more varieties of beers. Lots of stouts, ales, IPAs. Overall, we had a good time, it is a beautiful property. We would return to sit outside as well. Plenty of parking too! read more

Been here 3 times now and each time has been amazing. There has not been one meal that I haven't enjoyed. The food is outstanding. The service from all employees has been over the top. Very eager to answer any questions and provide suggestions. The place is beautiful on the inside and out and prices are within reason. The entertainment has been fun and entertaining as well. Looking forward to going back many more times. read more

My wife and I have been to South County several times in our happy hour and brewery rotation schedule. We sat at the bar, in the great room tables, and at the outside area. All of these areas have great service where the staff has been friendly and accommodating. Sometimes the outside bar is too busy but that's to be expected on very nice days. Stellar phase is one of their best beers in my opinion. we usually get pub fare when we go as the pizzas are usually a little too charred for our liking. SCB is very family-friendly and would be a great meet up spot to catch up with friends. read more

Was impressed with the food overall. Dry rub ribs are phenomenal, pull off the bone easily, but still have some bite to them. I don't normally dip my ribs in bbq sauce or like wet ribs, but the red bbq sauce they use pairs well with the meat and rub. Brisket was great, nice crust to it, and tender meat. I wasn't the biggest fan of the green sauce that came with it a little too acidic for me. I ate my wife's beans along with mine, great flavor. Also tried the Mac and cheese and a side of pickels. Unique Mac and a cheese, very good. Two different pickles, vastly different taste between the two, but enjoyed them both. The coleslaw is not made with mayonnaise like I am used to, so it depends on the type of coleslaw you like. Overall great experience, enjoyable food with a long list of beers to pair it with. Happy to have this place close by. read more

My friends and I had dinner here. It had been several months since we visited and I was so looking forward to ordering the hot chicken sandwich and onion rings. I didn't even look at the menu before ordering. When the sandwich arrived it looked ok but in biting into it, it was full of gristle and veins, I did not realize there was a change to this sandwich now made with thigh meat instead of chicken breast. What a disappointment. Both the sandwich and the onion rings were grease laden and very disappointing. So sad. read more

Wow. First off, amazing ambiance. The vibe here is just so nice. We sat outside on the patio and sort of chased the shade as the sun set. Outdoor waitress was absolutely a joy. Super charming, knowledgeable and accommodating with our multiple moves away from the sun. The food is fantastic. We had the Beer cheese fondue and the peaches and cream to share. Both were very tasty and well executed. We shared the toffee cookie skillet for dessert and it was good but definitely rich. Definitely a shareable dessert but super yum. All of the beers we had were great. Not one complaint on the diverse varieties we tried. IPA's, Blondes, Pale ale, Dark...aside from sours there is something for everyone here. Prices were absolutely fair. Definitely so considering the quality and great service. We will definitely be back. read more

Drive up from Baltimore on a Saturday, first thing when they opened. This is a substantial upgrade from the previous location. Not many people there at that time, we did make a reservation though. Overall very impressed by the selection of beers. More IPAs than I thought would be there. My wife ordered the one or two sours but wasn't really impressed. I thought the IPAs were very tasty and took some Golsun home. Food wise, there was not much of a menu. Nothing that enticed my wife or I. We ordered the charcuterie board to tie us over til the next stop. Service was good, atmosphere was great, the inside is beautiful (couches, fireplace, grand dining area, multiple bars). There are large coolers with ample selection of beers to go. It is loud once in the building. Didn't go outside but look forward to returning to see how the outdoor space is. My wife and I will definitely keep South County in mind when passing through York. read more

We went to enjoy the first nice day we've had in a while and sat on the patio. Our server was extremely helpful and attentive, the food was amazing with huge portions (brisket and pulled pork platters), and the beer was excellent. Best porter I've ever had. Their beer selections are heavy on IPAs, but they do have something for everyone. Place itself was beautiful, with a large shady outside bar and patio dining, and huge inside space reminiscent of a ski lodge. read more

Came in for Saturday dinner. Place was packed - make sure you get a reservation! They have a great variety of beers on tap, including multiple IPAs and Pale Ales. Just note, at this time they are not doing beer flights. For food, I got a burger with bacon that was excellent. My partner got a steak and potatoes, which was fine but was missing some broccoli or something green to compliment it. Service was good and vibe is great. They have a nice gift shop, to-go cooler, and some arcade games on the second floor. It's a little loud given the design of the place, but it's quite an upgrade, coming from someone who visited the old Fawn Grove location. read more

Beautiful atmosphere. Food was decent. Fair amount of beer selection. I'd go back for the atmosphere, it's a nice chill spot in PA.

Waitress was nice but service was very slow. Prices were high and the food was very bland. Would not go back. read more

Let me start by saying I'm a huge SC fan and I'm a regular at the OG Taproom. The venue itself is beautiful and very noisy. It's much quieter upstairs and comfortable seating areas and a bar. The outdoor area looks nice, but haven't sat outside yet. While it's a beautiful venue, it has a ways to go. Been there twice, dinner and lunch. Dinner was pre-opening and lunch was a few days ago. Dinner: I had the Steak Frites and picked the Filet. It came out cooked perfectly, but had a flavor I couldn't put my finger on. I later discovered it was dry aged. At that time it was not on the menu as dry aged beef (thankfully it is now). Since it was before the official opening, I won't address service. Lunch: I ordered a pepperoni pizza that came out with the crust burnt. My guest's mushroom pizza came out perfect. If I hadn't had somewhere to be, I would've sent it back. Still shocked the bar manager actually served it. Service wise - the server we had was great and very attentive to my friend needing a fresh beer. I even had one server stop when she noticed I had no beer (I wasn't drinking). I also think it's weird that you can't order fries or onion rings for lunch. All sandwiches come with chips (that I find aren't that great). That aspect and the burnt pizza would most likely prevent me from coming back just for lunch. Lastly, I seriously wish the Taproom had all the merchandise the York location has. read more

Food is hit or miss... the fries are like Brickers YUMMM. Brisket was dry, but had a great flavor. The $6 side of Mac n Cheese was the worst I've ever had. (Better Mac N Cheese can be found at KFC OR sheetz gas station) Apricot cheesecake - no bueno. The ONLY part of my meal I would order again are the fries. Atmosphere was nice sitting outside in the patio in the fair weather. read more

This place is absolutely beautiful and when walking in I was very excited to taste the food. I ordered the Fish & Grits and it was just average. Very boring and too much butter/salt. It looked great, but tasted very bland. I will say that it was cooked very well, but again, just boring Service was great as well. It's close to my house so I'll prob go back again but just for a few drinks and some music. read more

The last two times I have gone to South County I've made reservations a week ahead of time to ensure I got a table because I love this place so much. Unfortunately the last two times I've gone I got there and they said that they don't have any room and can't fulfil my reservation. So disappointing, not even really worth going back. read more

Being from MD, I met some PA friends here for lunch. This brewery is huge. Large upstairs area too. The food was really good too (though I forgot what I ordered). Only thing is that they don't fill growlers which is now pretty common at breweries, so I got a 6-pack to go. This will definitely be our meet up spot again. read more

Fair variety of craft beer but do not like that they do not allow any variation on food items like no cheese or sides (even if so just upgrade for fee) plus servers not enjoying their job so doesn't make you want to stay and hang out or come back. I had the pull pork was tasty but others had the brisket and brisket chilli which was fatty. And no too go food need to order and box yourself. Toilets needed a little love. Asked for a few tasters and thought was commuting a sin and plus had to ask for a second drink. Overall would go back to sit at bar for a craft beer since not many option but not must go stop in my PA trip. read more

Beautiful building with lots of ambience. Indoor and outdoor seating. Nicely landscaped property. Lots of beers to choose from - I tried a Marzen and a Golden Sky - both very good. They don't offer beer flight options but they do have 8oz pours so that is plus. I ordered a mushroom pizza that was delicious - I don't usually order pizza without red sauce but the cheese and mushrooms were so flavorful and the brick oven crust was cooked perfectly that the sauce was not missed. I definitely will return to try more beers and food at this York location. The window to view the brewing operation with stainless steel tanks was very impressive. The music playlist volume was a bit loud but that may have to do with the building design. read more

Go for the beer and cocktails. I had the onion rings as well as the ribs. Onion rings? Five stars!! Ribs? Not so good. I should not need to work that hard to cut ribs. Sides? Baked beans? Meh. Slaw? Dry. Atmosphere and Beer? Awesome. Go. Just manage your expectations accordingly. read more

This place is great, you wouldn't know where it was from the highway, it's tucked behind a Sheetz, almost in secret, but once you pass the gate its a beautiful property and land. I like that you can see the actual brewery equipment through the huge windows in the dining room. The brews and cocktails are delicious, I try to have new ones every time I go (been there twice in a month). My friends loved it too when I took them. I hadn't eaten fish and chips in years so I decided to get it here and it was fantastic and full of flavor. I don't think you can go wrong with any food or drink here. This is a great establishment and I'm happy that they're the newest addition to York's vast brewery scene. read more

I'm giving this three stars because the ambience is amazing. The building is beautiful the surrounding areas beautiful I think when spring gets here it will be nice to eat outside. Problem is the food was not very good. I ordered a medium well burger since I wasn't sure how they cooked it there, however, I'm pretty sure burn all the way on the outside is not medium well. The onion rings were fantastic. I don't know about the price of the onion rings since you only got five but they were seriously good. The service was fair and I'm I'm gonna say that it's because they just open for lunch not too long ago and they weren't sure how everything was going. I believe the waitress could've been there too long. So I will go back and several months to see if anything has changed. Shirley read more

I visited South County Brewing Co. for the first time for dinner last night. it's a spectacular place though I was extremely disappointed when my brisket dinner was cold. The corn bread felt like it just came out of the refrigerator and the butter on top was solid. The serving of baked beans and Cole slaw came in a tiny cup, the same size as the barbecue sauce. To top it off the brisket was cold. For $30.00, this meal is definitely not worth trying. read more

Ok.... So reservation for 630 party of 6 on a Saturday, perfect, they seated up immediately. Sat upstairs, ambiance was nice, beautiful place. Great beer selection (of course) and a good menu. Ordered the charcuterie board to start..... it's advertised with a "variety of meats and cheeses"..... zero cheeses came.... Not 1 piece.... But, what WAS on the board was tasty, so, meh, ok. Food order- ribs, Sandwiches, couple orders of fries for this kids *salad for the wife.... Nothing crazy..... 30 mins passes and we are told by our waitress that they are "putting everything now, and should be out any minute"..... another 20 mins goes by and the fries come out for the kids (thank Jesus.). Another 20 mins... FINALLY the food starts to come out - they're busy, I get it....... Everything come out MINUS my wife's salad.... So we all wait.... 10 min, 15 mins, 20 mins... WTF, and now NO ONE around to ask.... PISSED.... So I go up to the bar where no one is tending, I'm hopes I can find someone to ask where this simple salad is!?' As I'm standing at the bar, here come a gentleman with a salad..... he sets it front of my wife, I'm pretty pissed at this point and was very rude to the manager (assume it was manager)..... we were all hunger and aggravated by this time, and I'll admit, I was an absolute douche to the guy, I regret acting that was so if you see this, I apologized..... he explained that they screwed up, and he actually removed the entire food bill, which I'm a million times appreciate - this is NOT what I wanted......but thank you. I'm return I left the waitress a pretty mammoth sized tip (which she fully deserved, she was great, she was stuck in the middle)..... overall VERY disappointed..... but I think this was probably just a 1 time screw up..... we will def try again in the future. read more
