The bowls are where it's at here! I've had their smoothies and wasn't as impressed and for like $3 more it feels like you get way more with the bowls. I got the magic dragon bowl without the goji berries or agave, and added chia seeds (always free), and it was delicious. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating but I took mine to go for my walk. Always appreciate a self serve kiosk so I can review the menu and customize as needed, and the folks here were moving quick even with a bit of a line. read more

The PB Açaí Bowl from South Block is so good and honestly kind of addicting. It's my go-to and the location is super convenient for me, which makes grabbing one way too easy. I loveee smoothie bowls, but am allergic to a lot of fruits. South Block has plenty of options that I can eat though. I HATE icy smoothies, but south block's smoothies are all creamy. I ordered a Green Bowl, which was great!! (a mix of kale, spinach, ginger, mango, banana, and almond milk). I'm happy they used lactose-free ingredients. On top there was granola, fruits. I ordered the free additions of honey and chia seeds. Honestly the chia seeds didn't do much for me and wasn't worth adding on, but everything else were great flavors with fresh ingredients. The staff here was super friendly which was a plus! Honestly the bowls are REALLY big. I've passed South Block a few times (didn't realize it was a chain) and was happy to finally have a chance to be tempted inside. The menu is easy to read and there are great options for fruit and smoothie lovers. Wanting something with greenery, I went with the aptly named Green Bowl. It was very refreshing and very gingery! I love that bright spice root! The granola was crunchy and added great texture to the smoothie bowl mixed with bites of firm blueberries, ultra red strawberry slices, and banana. I drive 20 minutes to this South Block at least once a week because of how much joy it brings me. I get the same thing every time because I believe I have perfected my order, however, everything I've tried here has been delicious. I get the Nutella Bowl but add bananas. It's beautiful. I was excited to get an email saying that there was a South Block opening up a few blocks from work today so I figured I had to get breakfast. It's located right next to Bash (the boxing gym) on Wilson. You can't miss it with the green logo out front. Usually when a place first opens you expect some mishaps but didn't come across that today. The whole team was super friendly and luckily there was no line so I was checked out very quick. Gave this location two more attempts in the last two months. First time - watery & about 3/4 full with sharp date shards at the bottom of the smoothie. Second time, they must've put 3 scoops of cinnamon & then left the smoothie on the blender too long because it was purely foam. I saw them run out of pb and just decide not to put any in the smoothie since the two kids working seemed to care less. Suggest going to another location and skipping Rosslyn because every other location gets it right. read more

It's got the classic strawberry and banana mix to it but the dates and maple syrup definitely sweetened it up not in an overwhelming way. There were a lot of dates chucks in the smoothie, not sure if it was intentional. It add some texture to the smoothie but they also kept on getting stuck in the straw. read more

I've visited two South Block locations and they never cease to impress, regardless of whether I order a complicated smoothie or a coffee. I feel very lucky that this location is in my neighborhood. This seems to be a healthy fast casual place in Rosslyn that just opened up. I will say that it's pretty expensive for a bowl of fruit basically. The açaí bowl was about $12 and they give you huge serving sizes. I went for the peanut butter açaí bowl that I was told was the favorite. It basically tasted like a bowl of peanut butter.
