Nut allergy warning: I was told that the Everything bagel does have nuts. I'm honestly not sure if they're confusing sesame with a nut, but I took the advice regardless. The counter staff lady was very kind in helping me to order using an Alaskan Airline $12 travel voucher. I added a medium drop offee to my Plain Bagel with Lox cream cheese and paid the ~$1.50 out of pocket with no issues. 5/5 service. Despite it being quite busy (every table taken, about four people in line in front of me, even some pets around blocking the line) I got my order within about seven minutes. The plain bagel with Lox cream cheese actually had quite a nice lox flavor. It was no New York City bagel (quite smaller, not as chewy of a texture, less packed) but for the airport price of ~$9, it was a suitable breakfast or lunch snack, especially with a meal voucher (3/5). I'd come back if I had to get a meal outside of security and I had to burn a voucher again.

I wanted to try something new, per usual, when I travel. I also had time to kill before baggage drop off opened for Alaska Airlines. Fortunately, Sea-Tac has food and drink before the TSA lines. Yay! It was this place or Starbuckʻs. I chose this place, despite the reviews. Service was of the "come up and order" type. No greeting upon arrival. I sat myself, looking for signs which would say ʻseat yourselfʻ. None. I just assumed that was the deal. The restaurant had 36 seats, not including the bar top of about 11. 5 spots were taken at 7:30 in the morning. Not busy. I settled in, waited, and then resigned to asking one of the two ladies ʻDo I order at the bar?'. She said yes then added I could order with her. I asked her for their Sourced sandwich, avocado, egg. She asked if I wanted meat. I originally just wanted the avo but, to her credit, she did a little upsell: I could have ham and egg and add avocado. Sure. Sounds great. $15.50 plus avo cost. I ordered hot tea. Later, when I got the bill, $3.90 for hot tea and though not listed on menu board, I estimated avocado was about $4 for the add-on. $25, before a $4 tip. The food presentation was lackluster. Sliced open bread, smear of avo, ham, and melted cheddar cheese, looking like it was stacked then fired under toaster. Not awful but no color. I would have loved to have seen tomato, diced would have been okay; shredded greens and perhaps crispy buttery potato slices on the side, sprinkled with parsely. And on a plate. My food was delivered to me in a box. I had to ask for flatware and napkins. I was directed to a self-serve station. The food wasnʻt awful; the pricing was about par for airports I have been in. The food presentation and service level was akin to a fast food establishment. I am not knocking fast food at all. I love me some Taco Bell! When I see a brightly lit full bar, tall tables, wood and rod iron, servers in black, and modern styling, I just expect a little more. For the money and experience, I would have been better off choosing corporate-run-of-the-mill Starbuckʻs -- which was across the aisle from me. I probably will not choose this place again.

Dropping my grandma off at the airport for her 10pm flight at 7pm on a Sunday... yes we were super early lol. Came here with my grandma and 4 others to get some coffee because we wanted to say goodbye before ticketing. This is in between checkpoint. 3&4. Originally we were going to go to Starbucks, but the one in front of them was closed. Service was SO SLOW. We had to wait maybe 15 minutes to order (there was literally only 1 person ahead of us) and then we waited 10 more minutes for 1 latte and 2 of these Valentine's drinks they were promoting. The server didn't even know the Valentine's special that was on a sign She didn't know how to ring it up. It was a huge bummer - at least the drink tasted pretty good - but such a huge wait for some pretty overpriced airport drinks. The restaurant part looked really busy and had some more help on that side, but we are in Seattle and the whole city runs on caffeine and I think that they could be more staffed or something because since we are in the airport the expectation is that things come out relatively quickly (at least that's how I perceive it). The ambiance is nice and there's lots of options for 21 + but for everyone else it's limited. I'd only come back if Starbucks was closed

Overpriced for undrinkable coffee and avocado toast with bad bread and scant avocado. Good customer service.

Second Love - Cozy cafe vibes

We were wondering around Des Moines as we never have really spent any time in the downtown before until recently. We were wanting to get some coffee and a bite to eat and we came across Second Love. The coffee drinks are really good and unique! I got a grapefruit iced coffee. It definitely tasted unusual and was certainly robust. I am glad I tried it because it's a kind of thing you don't see around very much. They have sandwiches too and since we were hungry we ordered some. They proved to be very good as they were made to order and tasted nice and fresh! Steve purchased some coffee beans to take home so we could enjoy more of their coffee at home. Definitely a nice, solid place for coffee drinks a bite to eat.

They have shared parking with other neighboring businesses, but I would be careful backing out once you're done around the area, as other cars parked in that parking lot can make for bad blind spots. When you get inside, you're greeted by some brown wooden floors and ceilings, and the whole interior reminds you of a cozy but spacious treehouse with the kitchen and bar seating near the front, and three or so two-tops lined up on the walls. Go deeper inside and you'll get to their outdoor patio seating that doesn't have a picturesque view but works if you're wanting some fresh air outside. Staff was very patient with me while I was perusing the menu and baked goods at the front counter. You can get your drinks for here or to-go, and there are hot and iced options for most drinks. As mentioned, I got their grapefruit Szechuan tonic, and it's definitely a unique flavor. It's bitter like coffee and tonic, and since it was advertised as a coffee drink on social media, I was surprised the drink wasn't as thick and murky as coffee would be. There's a mild grapefruit taste that is dulled by the coffee part of this drink, and that sadly also went for the Szechaun peppers that spike this drink. It's probably just me, but while drinking this my mouth was trying to tell the difference between the tingling spice sensation that Szechaun peppers usually give off, and the mouthfeel you get when bubbly, carbonated drinks like tonic come into contact with your tongue. I wasn't sure if I was tasting spice or the popping sensation from soda. Whichever it was, it was mild and could have been stronger.

THE DRINKS | Variety of coffees, espressos, lattes, and seasonal drinks. I ordered... - Pumpkin Spiced Latte (8 oz.) | Made with real organic pumpkins, pumpkin spices, and topped with pumpkin pie sugar. I hate to compare, but it's way better than Starbucks' pumpkin spiced latte in that the flavors are strong with a smoother finish. - Drip Coffee (12 oz.) | A robust coffee that'll jumpstart your morning. THE FOODS | Pastries & cookies. I ordered... - Morning Roll | Croissant shaped as a muffin. Flaky crunch on the top and buttery soft inside. Warmed up and this morning roll is amazing. THE CAFFE VITA FEELS | Small coffee shop with a small display case for pastries and an area to add sugar and cream to your drink. There's also a stand to the right of the cashier counter where 12 oz. coffee grounds are packaged for purchase. THE ORDERING LOGISTICS | Line up and order i at either Caffe Vita or adjacent Beecher's for food or coffee. I stood in the Beecher's line for food and Caffe Vita for coffee and a pastry, not realizing I could've ordered both at either shop. Coffee subscriptions can be found on their website. They ship within 48 hours of roasting their coffee to ensure you're getting the best flavor.

The Quarterdeck - Breakfast Sandwich!!

We came by after happy hour at Anthony's and listened to a live set of great music. The place was packed, but everyone is friendly and was willing to share their table with us. We had a great time and I strongly recommend coming by the Quarterdeck to chill and listen to live music. Can't believe it took me 20 years of living in Seattle to find this place. So, don't repeat my mistake.

Quarterdeck is what I like to call a "come for the vibes, stay for the drinks, eat... somewhere…read moreelse" kind of place. I stopped by while visiting Seattle and while the food situation was a bit chaotic (they had rotating menus because they were out of a few items), I ended up ordering a kimchi-inspired sandwich that I wanted to love...but it just didn't do it for me. Not inedible, maybe a 2/5, but I'd definitely try something else next time. My friend ordered what I think was the Garden Harvest Wrap (a staple on the menu), and that was more of a 3/5. Both dishes were served cold (intentionally), which I think made a difference, I could totally see them being much better if they were warm. Now let's talk about what is worth it: the mimosa flight. SO good. Like dangerously easy to sit there, sip through all of them, and forget any minor food disappointments. But honestly, the real star here is the ambiance. You're right on the water with the most effortless, breezy, coastal energy. Boats drifting by, sun hitting just right, people lingering over drinks--it's giving main character energy in the best way. I found myself wanting to stay way longer than planned and even doing some work while there. This is absolutely a spot I'd come back to, just with a strategy: eat before or after, and come here to sip, sit by the water, and take a little walk on the dock. 5 stars for the vibes alone
