Came here on a Monday around 4pm, it was not too busy and I was able to find a table with an outlet. Great place to get work done with the chill vibe. I got the chestnut season coffee, it wasn't bad it wasn't great. I also had the gluten free cookie which was delicious. I would come again when in the area!

I visited Empire Coffee recently for a working meeting. What a cute place! Located in Normandy Park, it's in a large parking lot with many neighboring businesses - so plenty of spots to choose from. I managed to get a front row spot. It's very spacious with lots of seating options, as well as a good amount of outlets if you're coming to work and need to charge your electronics. As a mom, I appreciate how family-friendly Empire Coffee is. Right when I walked in I could tell because they have an ADORABLE kid's barista play stand set up! My daughter (who loves play kitchens) would absolutely be entertained here if I was meeting up with someone for a coffee. I forget what drink I got (sadly) but it was something with white chocolate in it and was one of the seasonal beverages - it was delicious! The banana bread was also really good. The perfect snack to go along with an afternoon coffee. Definitely would return to work from this coffee shop in the future!

    - Nice coffee shop, with comfortable furniture - There is a fireplace inside (really didn't burn, but cozy) - Nice staff. - And most importantly, the Latte here is delicious

Roasted in Georgetown, TX. Espresso blend is medium-dark (but very dark for PNW standards)

Cute little shop in what appears to be an old Starbucks. If you are a dark-roast coffee lover than this could be your jam. They use a toaster from Texas, and it is definitely dark! I'll owing this, I had mine as a white mocha. They use Hollander choco sauces, and it was quite decent. I could still definitely taste the roast and would not enjoy this without some flavoring. They have a drive through, and a nice little fireplace. Not a huge space but a good little community spot. Likely won't go again simply for personal preference as I don't care for such dark beans

Pleasantly amazing coffee! Normally, places with this vibe scream HIPSTER ROAST, that A+ coffee bean burnt into submission by some elitist tattooed caffeinista, who thinks that they're the Picasso of roasting, rather than the bean-butcher who should be facing Java Nuremberg for crimes against the Bean. Empire, at this writing, is using Seven Oaks, roasters who seem to understand how to achieve balance and depth without a blow torch. They also hire well trained baristas who know how to calibrate the equipment, and make (gasp) a dry cappuccino actually *dry*. We tried their French press, as well. Another shining moment for the strength of the well loved Bean. Food could be better presented, and plentiful, although it's tasty. I really don't want to see the egg sandwiches in their plastic wrap in the customer refrigerator. Too McMinerva. They don't order up extra pastries on the weekend. Early birds get the best selections. The Asiago bagel was my big choice at 11a, but it was thankfully tasty. Dining room is hipster spartan, but the play area is a nice touch. Service is excellent! Parking is plentiful. Better food, and this is a solid five

Oatmilk gingerbread latte and a mixed berry scone

I went there for the first time today and had such a great time! I went to get some work done and the low volume of conversations and music made it the perfect place to do so. I ordered a gingerbread latte and a mixed berry scone. Both very delicious! When ordering, I forgot to ask for oatmilk and offered to pay the difference, but the barista said not to worry about the extra charge. It was so nice of them and left such a great first impression for me! Very cute, yet minimal, decor, tables with lots of variety for seating, outlets, and the best vibes!

Came here to study and get work done was a good decision. The ambience is nice and great for studying, meeting with a friend or grabbing coffee. I tried the matcha with oat milk and it was very yummy! I would recommend light ice because my sister got a coffee and hers was a bit watered down. But overall awesome place!

    Cute fire place!

If y'all are looking for a cute coffee shop that's WFH friendly, I would definitely recommend Empire. From the two times I've been here so far I've ordered a pumpkin spice latte (hot) and an iced hazelnut latte. Ima be real, if you NEED coffee to start your day, I would recommend an extra shot. Their espresso isn't as strong as other coffee joints I've been to. Flavoring wise they're really tasty and on the sweeter side. There's a lot of seating that's social distance friendly. If you're there to get some work done, try to snag a spot with an outlet, not all tables have outlets. Another thing that makes Empire one of my go tos is that they actually have COVID precautions. All the baristas wear masks and social distancing is encouraged. This can be pretty rare for a lot of cafes that I've found on the south side. They're also mad clean. Shoutout to the staff who be keeping the place in check, it looks really nice. Overall get your coffee fix and chase your bag. Located near the Angle Lake station. Private parking lot. Drive thru access.

    Super clean behind the counter

It's clear they love the product and the cafe. I asked about the blending coffee being used and it was well explained. They even offered me a (generous) taste of the drip version, which I typically don't like. Good flavor! Coffee is terrific. I ordered a macchiato, which was poured perfectly. When the barista noticed a bit had spilled on to the saucer, he changed it out before serving. A lovely attention to detail. The pastry was tasty. Pricing is really fair. We came by after happy hour at Anthony's and listened to a live set of great music. The place was packed, but everyone is friendly and was willing to share their table with us. So, don't repeat my mistake.

I stopped by while visiting Seattle and while the food situation was a bit chaotic (they had rotating menus because they were out of a few items), I ended up ordering a kimchi-inspired sandwich that I wanted to love...but it just didn't do it for me. Not inedible, maybe a 2/5, but I'd definitely try something else next time. My friend ordered what I think was the Garden Harvest Wrap (a staple on the menu), and that was more of a 3/5. Both dishes were served cold (intentionally), which I think made a difference, I could totally see them being much better if they were warm. Now let's talk about what is worth it: the mimosa flight. SO good. Like dangerously easy to sit there, sip through all of them, and forget any minor food disappointments. But honestly, the real star here is the ambiance. You're right on the water with the most effortless, breezy, coastal energy. Boats drifting by, sun hitting just right, people lingering over drinks--it's giving main character energy in the best way. I found myself wanting to stay way longer than planned and even doing some work while there. This is absolutely a spot I'd come back to, just with a strategy: eat before or after, and come here to sip, sit by the water, and take a little walk on the dock. 5 stars for the vibes alone

Unlike Starbucks, they actually have legit ube flavor (and other Filipino flavors like pandan and turon) for their drinks. I got an ube matcha (super delish, tho in the future I'd ask for less sweet) and a spam musubi (wrapped in plastic wrap, which makes it the perfect airport snack to eat without having to touch it with your hands). It's a little out of the way tucked near Gate 21, but I'd definitely take the short detour if you have the time for some yummy treats!

Seattle-Area Boba Shop Review #109…read more I was not expecting much out of Neighborhood Bubble Tea and Cafe - Boba in an airport in the US? No way it could be any good! But on a recent trip to Nashville, we decided to trudge all the way over from the A-gates to give this place a try. This shop is tucked away in the side arm of the D-gate area, making it much less crowded than the main walkway in the terminal. There are two ways to order - firstly via the kiosk (no line when we visited) and secondly in person (a line of 5 or 6 people). Black Milk Tea w/ Boba ($8) - I ordered via kiosk to save time and totally blanked on the fact that it doesn't allow ice or sugar level adjustments. Just as I went to pick up the drink about 5 minutes after my order, I thought about this fact and started worrying about the sugar levels. At 100% sweet, I typically find most other boba shops cloyingly sweet. This place, fortunately, uses cane sugar, so the sweetness is more mellow and not as grating. Even at full sweetness, while a little too much for my palette, isn't harsh or overwhelming. The drink comes with whole milk by default. Unlike other more premium shops that only add a splash of milk on top, this one seems to be more like 50/50 tea vs. milk. This adds a bunch of richness to the drink, but also increases the dairy flavor quite a bit, which combined with the sugar overpowers the tea a little. There's still some of the malty and somewhat fruity notes towards the end of the sip. They add a ton of ice. That's something I will definitely be asking for adjustment on in the future. The boba isn't bad at all. There are some issues with consistency in terms of size and due to that, texture. They are soaked in brown sugar syrup, giving a soft and velvety texture on the exterior. The smaller pearls are chewy throughout, while the larger pearls are a bit too firm and grainy towards the center. Milk Tea Rating: 4/5 Boba Rating: 3.5/5 I was really surprised by the quality of the drink I received. Honestly, before visiting, I thought this would be more of a 2 star kind of place! They also serve some really intriguing Filipino snacks that I'd love to come back to try out.
