I see no reason for why to grace Panera Bread with patronage with Soup Thyme around. You can get the same special of half a panini and a small soup for less money and better taste (and probably healthier as well). Place is extremely tiny and quite popular. The staff is very on point though, but do know that lines can build up in no time at all. We had a bbq-based panini and a chicken cutlet panini plus broccoli cheddar and french onion soups. They were all very good, and they are only a small sample of the many paninis and soups they have to offer. Not necessarily exceptional in taste, but they are pretty good and make you happy while eating it and after you finished them. Check it out when you are driving by and do consider carrying it out instead of dining at the locale, because it gets very tight in there. I recommend it! read more

Soups - I have had most and my favorite by far is the chicken pot pie soup. Very thick and hearty with good amounts of shredded chicken. The other soups are somewhat lacking and not that flavorful. Sandwiches - at first, I loved these sandwiches but over time, I got a bit bored. They do have a great variety but most of the sandwiches are very similar. The grilled chicken needs to have more flavor, maybe a different marinade or more lemon would help? All in all, it's a good stop for lunch but is lacking a certain something from being a 4 star location. read more

I finally had a lunch at the famed Soup Thyme, and I deeply regret waiting this long to eat here. I had a Cheddar Broccoli soup with a Turkey/Bacon/Gruyere/Peppercorn Sauce panini. Nonetheless, I had high hopes for the award winning luncheon. The panini was hands down the best sandwich I've had in the area; flavorful and well balanced. The soup followed suit. A wonderfully creamy broccoli & cheddar soup with a huge depth of flavor, surprising for such a usually simple dish. Upon further inspection, I found that their menu changes a good amount: about seven or eight daily soups that rotate in availability, plus new sandwiches regularly added as well. Everything looked great, plus the salads & baked goods (mostly desserts; cookies, brownies, blondies, etc.) looked good, too. An absolute must-try lunch spot for anyone in the area. Would reccomend ordering ahead, as they get pretty busy for lunch! read more

Beware the guy (kid?) with the shorter hair and cartilage piecing. He was SO rude when he took our order, never prepared the food and then lied to our faces saying he already gave us the food and rang us out when we confronted the staff to see where our order was. He took our order for a second time, WROTE IT DOWN and we still ended up with the wrong paninis. The girls were kind and discounted the food, but coming home to find the order wrong after dealing with that guy led me here. This place is amazing. The sandwiches are delicious the soup is insane. There's not a ton of seating but I don't care because I'd eat these sandwiches off the hood of my car. They even have prepacked salads for lunch and salad side dishes like a deli would. I think it's funny that this place has a couple bad reviews. 5 stars for the panini's seriously the best sandwich ive ever had. been here twice already in one week. they have cute names for their food too I tried the thyme clock and the thyme saver (a vegetarian sandwich but i added grilled chicken to it) both are sooooooooo delicious on toasted bread. the sandwiches are cheap too. you can get a 1/2 sandwich & soup or a soup & salad for $6.75 4 stars for the soup. it was good but ive had better. i tried the chicken pot pie and chicken noodle soup 3.5 stars for their salad. they have a variety of non-lettuce salads that you can get. i tried the tuna macaroni. it was ok. they also have packaged regular salads as well. read more

The chicken pot pie soup is great (and their most popular soup, I believe). I am a vegetarian and this place has a lot of great options for me. I strongly prefer the paninis here to the paninis at Panera. I recommend getting a full panini rather than half, because the full panini was the perfect amount to tide me over. The restaurant itself is very tiny, so sitting inside might not be an option. Also, if you go right at lunch time, prepare to wait in a fairly long line. Unfortunately this review is for how the store is organized, or more accurately unorganized, because I couldn't even place an order. The phone order pickup line is as far back as possible into the narrow customer area. The pay line is at the door and the order line is between the two. The customers stand all around and there is no direction from the staff. It's really too narrow to form lines for each area. In fact we stood there for over 5 minutes, no orders were taken from the five staff behind the counter and no eye contact from any of the staff either. We just walked out. No matter how good the food is, it's not worth the frustration to place an order in my opinion. read more

I do love a good sandwich from Soup Thyme. I always eat the Thyme Capsule, which is Mozzarella cheese, roasted red peppers, tomato and pesto. Good stuff. I also like their bean salad, magic bars, and jalepeno biscuits. Four stars, however, because as a vegetarian, I don't feel comfortable eating the soup. Some of my friends used to work here and told me they use non-vegetarian stock to make all their soups. More recently, I think they've notated their vegetarian and gluten free soups, but I'm still a bit wary. Ok so we have been to soup thyme a couple of times, soups are great. We always seem to try a panini. Not anymore, we order 3 sandwiches, a large soup, small soup, mac and cheese, and a small cup of fruit and that came to over $40.00 which is fine. We get home to open our sandwiches and to find they were not edible, the chicken was grey, weather it was freeze burned or just completely gone off. We called to speak to a manager, and said that "our chicken cutlet is made every morning!" That I'm sorry is a complete lie. We would not mind if they were actually telling the truth. They told us that they would look after you the next time. Question everyone would you want to eat "fresh" grey chicken the 2nd time, no I'm sorry. Love love love the food! No issues there. My mom and I had dropped in on a Saturday and it happened to be very busy. A man I assumed was the boss was helping out and taking orders. He had let two people behind us in line order before us. When it was finally our turn, my mom voiced her complaint politely. He told all the employees not to serve us and told us to get out. I have several years of restaurant experience myself and have had many very busy shifts. Being busy is never an excuse to lash out at your guests. If you can't handle the heat then get out of the kitchen, literally in this case. A simple acknowledgment of how she felt would have sufficed. I cannot resist the food so I returned. Due to the pandemic, many food places have a drive up option where an employee brings out your items. I was behind the employee as she was walking back into the restaurant. As it is summertime and very hot, employees should be allowed to modify their uniform somewhat in order to be comfortable during their shift. HOWEVER, her shorts covered as much as a pair of underwear. I could see half of her behind. I was disappointed, put off and confused as to why management had allowed this, especially while working in food service. Personally, I dont want my food served by someone wearing a shirt and underwear when I go out to eat. read more

I recently learned of this place. Were it soup alone, I would give 5 stars. The atmosphere isn't great - ugly strip mall exterior, limited seating interior. And eating there isn't anything to write home about - the paper and plastic take home containers and utensils are also used for dine-ins (no silverware or real bowls). Who would have thought that turkey, stuffing, cheese, and cranberry sauce in a panini would be such an incredible combo? Oh Soup Thyme how I love you. We nicknamed it "crack soup" because we are addicted! Chicken pot pie soup is AMAZING. It can be very busy so call your order in advance or go after 130. This place has a line out the door all winter & summer long! I've tried all their hit soups, chilis and numerous sandwiches and am always impressed. They are very attentive to their customers as I have ordered for large groups on mulitple occasions and have never had a problem. I have also been there at 5:00 when they are closing and watch them scurb the place from top to bottom for the next day that starts at 6am. This place may not have the ambiance or space as Liquid Lunch but their soup is 10X better. read more

Without a doubt one of my favorite places to get lunch in the Monroe area. I have tried a few different soups including the broccoli cheddar and chicken pot pie and they have all been excellent, but what keeps me coming back are the paninis. My favorite paninis, which I would highly recommend making a stop in to try have to be the Thyme Away, Thyme's Up, and Thyme After Thyme. Besides the soup and sandwiches, Soup Thyme also has very good pre-made salads for anyone looking for a quick delicious bite to eat! My only knock against Soup that there is very little seating.
