Fish and rice looked unpalatable, so ate non fish dishes, food had been microwaved to the point of no return, drinks were severely watered down. Pricing was massively over the top for even decent standard sushi, $20 for four small plates and two drinks. Service was slow, inattentive and rude. The restaurant it self was dirty, with visible food material piled up in the conveyor belt, bathrooms unclean and only accessible after asking staff for a password. Only reason this place rated two stars was because none of the food has actually poisoned either of us yet. Just meh. Service was meh, only saw our waiter when she seated us, never again after that. Drink sat empty over half the meal. Over priced for train sushi. We ordered a Vegas roll which was 3$ more than I am used to paying. When it showed up it looked nothing like a Vegas roll and all we could taste was the cream cheese and orange sauce. This has to be the best restaurant in the Longview-Kelso area. We have tried a few and most have failed to even provide decent food or service, so now we eat at Sora at least once a week. The folks who work there are very friendly and you can also sit at a sushi conveyor belt which is quite fun. On that note, you can always grab something from the conveyor belt wherever you sit in case you want something fast while you wait for your food. You can also ask for light rice, if you want a lower calories post-holiday option. The prices are very fair and the portion sizes of the fish are VERY generous as well. I see a couple people complaining about the price but 1) the prices are pretty normal albeit slightly lower than most I have seen across the country 2) do you really want to eat "cheap" sushi HAHA scary and 3) again, very generous portions of quality fish, so you pay for what you get. The lunch special is a great price if you are looking for a lower cost option and they offer it every day, even weekends: two nigiri, one maki roll, and miso soup for $9.99 and it is quite a filling meal. Our standards are the hot tea (gen mai cha), miso soup, and cherry blossom roll, caterpillar roll, and the pink lady roll. The cheesecake is different from the traditional NY style but is very delicious! read more

Just moved to the area and saw Sora had a #1 rating in the area we were hovering for dinner take out. Gave it a shot and unfortunately were left a little disappointed. The Gyoza udon is a ramen with cabbage and the chicken Katsu was insanely dry and unfortunately the customer service topped it off. We were really impressed with the ambiance and decor. The paper lanterns are so pretty and the signage above the sushi bar was cool. It feels open and airy. I think there are still some kinks to work out in terms of service. We were warmly greeted when we entered but didn't see that guy again. Our hostess was a little nervous which is understandable. I ordered a soft drink and it never came. When my dinner came I asked for it again and that waiter brought it right away, but on the final bill I was charged for two, which was odd because you're supposed to get one free refill anyway. One of the waiters seemed a little out of it. My mom asked him what was in the dressing and he said he didn't know because he didn't make it. She asked if they sold it and he offered to ask. He came back with a little plastic cup of the dressing and said this time it was free. Another waiter spilled a little dish of dipping sauce on my brother's pants and coat. Accidents happen, no big deal, and the waiter was sincerely apologetic, but some small gesture would have been appreciated. The sushi is excellent and extremely well presented. The roll slices are generous. My husband thought the fat and gristle on the ribs should have been better trimmed, but I thought they were fine. It's a more upscale experience than Fuji Teriyaki, but they definitely can't beat Fuji's customer service. I'll probably come back in a few months to see if service has improved and if staff are more upbeat. That said, the food is truly excellent. read more

If there's anything I can always enjoy, it's good sushi. I certainly don't call myself a connoisseur, but I appreciate the delicate portions of tasty rice and fish. Sora Sushi provides them in abundance. My wife and I visit Sora once every two weeks or so for their happy hour. The conveyor belt system is novel and efficient and the sushi is diverse with generous portions. A little over half the choices are topped with spicy mayo or sweet and sour sauce, but they are almost never doused with the stuff. There don't tend to be an excessive amount of rolls that contain cream cheese, either, which I greatly appreciate. We look forward to these afternoon trips and fill up completely for less than twenty dollars. It's the best deal in town. The evening sushi choices are slightly more expensive but still reasonable if you steer clear of the specialty rolls. We are always welcomed happily by the staff and our requests are fulfilled quickly even if we have to wave a server over now and again. We've found a hidden gem in this little spot and will continue to treat ourselves and our guests whenever we want sushi this side of Portland. read more

Meh... Service and food started great and quickly became lackluster. We were frequent customers to begin with, however, as the good service and decent food disappeared, so did we. The beef teriyaki is terrible. Very inexpensive meat. Chicken is okay but nothing to write home about. Sushi is average at best. They don't have mango and get a little annoyed if you ask for something other than what's on their menu (or get too crazy with alterations). If you're dying for sushi, they're okay. If you can wait, there are other options in Longview or Vancouver that you'll enjoy more. read more

We stopped in Kelso, WA for the night and Sora Sushi was right nearby. We've been spoiled on our trip to the Northwest with terrific sushi at every stop, and Sora Sushi continued our streak. The sushi was melt-in-your-mouth fresh. In particular, the salmon was really special. The combo sushi plate exceeded my expectations with the amount of sushi that was served. It was a lot of sushi for the amount of money charged, and it was worth every penny of its modest price. My wife ordered the bento box and said that it was "...perfect." The service was friendly and efficient and we felt like guests in the restaurant. The restaurant was very clean. I have only one criticism about the sushi. Fritz H. in his review of this restaurant mentioned the flavor of the rice, which I agree was very well prepared. The problem was there was too much of it with each pice of sushi. I would have preferred about half of the rice. It made the sushi too "filling" and overpowered the delicacy of the fish. As I said before, the fish itself was beautifully prepared and fresh as could be. As a side-note, I tried connecting to the free WiFi, but was never able to get it to work. We decided to stop for sushi in Kelso on our way home to OR from Seattle. Yelp gave Sora Sushi 4 out of 5 stars, so we thought we would give it a try for lunch. Well, I am a proponent that you don't know until you try and.......we know not to stop here again. Service left much to be desired. We were 1 of the 3 couples in the restaurant and did not see our server other than when we were seated. I had to hunt her down for the check. Quality of sushi was meh. We opted to sit at the conveyor belt sushi out of convenience. Granted everyone has a preference for sushi. So if you like your sushi topped with alot of sauce or filled with cream cheese, this might be the place for you. I am more of a traditional, raw sushi (nigri) kind of girl, so there wasn't much of a selection. Also, the crab mix of the CA roll had a pretty distinct mayo taste to it. Prices were high for a conveyor belt place. Like most of the track sushi places, it varied from $2-$5 per plate. We had a total of 7 plates between the 2 of us (1 of which was only half eaten) and came to the tune of $30. Not sure of the overall selection of sushi places in Kelso, so this might be as good as it gets. But if you are traveling the 5 and get a taste for some sushi, you are better off waiting until you hit Olympia to the North or Vancouver/Portland to the South. Or if you are really hungry, there is always Mickey D's. read more

The boat had very little low cost plates. (We here with 2 children) then the same thing was on yellow ($2.75) & blue (4.75). I ordered udon soup it's a large bowl. My 5yr old didn't eat really any. Great food. Rude employees. Went here to hang out with a few friends and have a snack. This was my first time there, I got $5 worth of food and was then confronted when I tipped $3. All they did was fill my water once. And I grabbed the food off the conveyor belt. I tipped the Itamae (person who makes the sushi) but the waiter seemed very offended that I only tipped him $3, but I tipped him more than 50% of my bill. It's also disgusting that the employees sit right beside the doors to smoke even though the law says they have to be 20 feet from the building entrance. read more

Hey there folks! For me and my wife Sora Sushi is THE place for sushi in Longview Washington, that being said it isn't in our top ten choices for Sushi in the Vancouver/Longview area of the state. One thing that is for sure is you get a lot of bang for your buck. Sora easily has the best value of Sushi I've ever seen. My family could often put down 8-10 rolls (4 or 5 of us) and I believe we topped out at 5. Quantity can be a double edged sword though. One problem we found is that Sora cut their sushi rolls way too thick. This is only a problem because sushi is meant to be eaten in one bite, and you almost can't fit the whole piece in your mouth. Once you get it in there is a just a whole lot of cream cheese to take in. The rolls may have been pretty awesome, but it was hard to tell just because of the quantity overload. Because we still liked this place we went back probably 3 or 4 times more and always asked them to cut their rolls into smaller pieces. The one time that they actually did that it was actually pretty great! Still not the best but I would have gone back more often. But their inability to grant our request ultimately stopped our craving to go there for me and my wife. Service has been pretty average which I'm happy with. Fill my drinks and make sure I'm doing okay and I'm a happy camper. So my end thoughts are this, if my wife and I are in the neighborhood and simply must have sushi, this will be our go to place. If we can hold off, chances are we'll go to Sushi in Vancouver instead. read more

What a hidden gem this place is! I took my wife out to lunch and she suggested trying this place. Don't let the outside fool you. It does look a bit 7-11ish but step inside and you will be transported to an amazing tour of Japanese sushi house entertainment. (and the food is good too) The place is outfitted with the standard sushi bar with a conveyor-belt style sushi running $2-5 or you can order from a menu. We opted for table-side services and the menu. We weren't sure what to try on our first visit so we both ordered the lunch bento box. (~$8) Lunch started with the traditional miso soup. Then the server brought out two of the largest bento boxes I have seen stuffed with ginger salad, teriyaki chicken, California roll, a plethora of tempura veggies and shrimp, and rice. Seriously, one box can feed two people. The food was great and we took home plenty of extras. I do wish they would had not put the wasabi and pickled ginger under the bowl of dipping sauce. I didn't find it until after I finished the sushi. (wawa) The service was a bit slow, but they got hit hard at lunch. We arrived at 11:30 with a small group, but when we left at 12:15 the place was packed. Be aware that people have discovered this fine establishment and hit it up for lunch! Finally, we have a sushi bar here in Kelso! Except, it is a total disappointment. Their prices are equivalent to a nice, higher end sushi bar, but the restaurant itself is pretty grungy and ghetto by comparison.
