I've had some good meals in my time... but dinner at Soprano's Restaurante in Falmouth? That was next-level. From the moment we walked in, it felt like we'd stepped into a cozy coastal trattoria where every table was buzzing with happy diners and the scent of garlic, herbs, and baked bread wrapped around you like a warm hug. Let's start with the food because wow. We ordered a mix of classics and house specialties, and every single bite was a love letter to Italian cooking. The pasta was perfectly al dente, the sauces were rich and layered, and the seafood? So fresh it could've swum to the table. My entree, the seafood risotto, was the kind of dish that makes you pause mid-bite just to appreciate how ridiculously good it is. I'm not proud of how quickly I cleaned my plate, but I have no regrets. The staff was friendly, attentive without hovering, and clearly proud of what they do (as they should be!). And the setting? This is a SMALL and romantic Italian restaurant with ample parking as it is in a plaza. However, we made reservations for Valentine's Day, and the ladies who coordinated this were very kind over the phone. Most of the staff running around serving tables seemed very nice too. But that is the most positive I can speak on this experience. We show up about 10 minutes before our reservation, and we are about the 4th couple in line waiting for someone to even acknowledge us, let alone be seated. The space was very small and tight and we were waiting outside of the front door due to lack of room inside. At about 8:20 which was now a half hour of waiting, It was so cold and crowded that we ultimately chose to go back to our hotel room and order in from another restaurant. We're disappointed that we were unable to try this restaurant as planned. We understood the busy holiday rush, but don't make reservations that you cannot accommodate. read more

I made Valentine's for my wife. We were seated promptly for our reservation. I had the baked lasagna and my wife had lobster Al la vodka. We got the meatballs for an appetizer. The food was fantastic and the portions were huge. On top of that, each lady received a rose. A+++++ in my book. We will be back. read more

We are locals who tried Sopranos Mashpee twice this month (July). Things we like are sitting outside, the service, the drinks that are well made and the bread with olive oil is delicious. BUT, the entrees really need help. I ordered scrod francese which was flavorless until I squeezed a lot of lemon on it and added some salt. The asparagus was limp and overcooked. My husband had pan seared scallops that were overdone and served on a mass of green risotto. Not appetizing to look at. Another time I had chicken piccatta. The chicken was tough. Not sure who the chef is but because of the entrees, we will not got back there. Avellinos, a few miles up the road, has high quality entrees! read more

The waitress was slow and confused. I ordered the Seafood Risotto. The worst! So salty, inedible. The good: Toni is a wonderful staff member and super friendly! The serving staff were attentive and good at their jobs. Kudos. It is clear they love working at Sopranos and work as a team. The not so good: - The food needs to be of higher quality. They should go visit the Mama Mia's and Carmella's group out of Kingston and Plymouth. Same menu essential but much, much better. The carbonara was so thick that your fork could stand up in it. So heavy. The meatballs were just ok and the lasagne was a large brick smothered in very sweet tomato sauce. - The outdoor patio is a great spot but could use a fence to shield the nose from the road, some umbrellas and the tv should work. Maybe turn on the fireplaces for ambiance. - we couldn't even contemplate eating indoors. The acoustics are terrible and you can't hear yourself think let alone have a conversation So, all in all, mostly easy stuff to fix if they really want this place to thrive for more than one off tourist hits. I'd love to go back and spend some time with Toni as she was very sweet but they have some work to do first. And, we are year rounders who would love to have a go to reasonably priced Italian restaurant to meet friends. read more

Can I give this place no stars? Might be the worst restaurant I've ever been to. Food is awful. They can't even be bothered to make their own sauce yet they are attempting to capitalize on Cape Cod pricing. Service is mediocre at best. The manager in Falmouth allowed my friend to be over service beyond the point of driving and allowed him to leave. The one in Mashpee I've been to twice. Got shrimp scampi the first time and it came with 3 shrimp. Second time I ordered eggplant parm that came with what tasted like sauce from a can. Don't bother stopping here. The absolute best Italian food in Mashpee and Falmouth. We love both locations and the food is the same. Everything here is amazing. The portions are huge, their red sauce is outstanding, they make the best (and biggest) eggplant parm I've ever had. My whole family, even my 4 year old, is obsessed with the delicious Mista salad. The complimentary bread and oils are really delicious. I always order the same thing but my husband tries different things and has loved it all. Service is always great too. This place was such a disappointment, we ate here three years ago and tonight was a disaster. Our reservation was 6:30 pm and we were sat right away at 6:25 pm. Our waitress came to our table within 10 minutes and we order drinks, when she delivered them she asked if we were ready to order which we did. We ordered a wedge salad and stuffed mushrooms and 1 hour and 5 minutes later we got the salad. And our food was another 45 minutes later. My fettuccine was more of soup with noodles. When I approached the manager about our disappointment with the food and service his response was we had a person leave the kitchen, and I asked why this was not mentioned. Bruschetta was sorry and almost sad no mozz just diced tomatoes and bag grated parm tossed onto bread the prep toasted prior. The arancini was a down right disgrace bland pasty rice fried and topped with what i think was intended to be a romesco of sorts? Chicken parm was solid as its hard to be bad but im not sure if its cape cods severe lack of food culture and culinary pride or perhaps we just chose a sub par over priced "italian" restaurant. read more

Wow, what a surprise. Our daughter and son-in-law have a place in Mashpee so we've driven by this place many times saying "that place looks nice". We were looking for a place to meet a friend who lives on the Cape and we decided to give it a try. It was very good. My wife loved her lobster ravioli and my friend really enjoyed his Bolognese. I had the scallops that were very tasty over pesto risotto but I only got 4 of them and I would have liked having a couple more. Our waiter could not have been friendlier or more attentive. I've enjoyed a great deal of scallops and have never had them taste anywhere near as good as this. We talked about this all night afterwards, I thought about it in the wee hours, and then woke up thinking about the seemingly simple style but exceptionally pronounced flavor of these scallops. I don't need my scallops to be large but these were huge. It was certainly a lot of scallop for the price. First visit, so decided to sit at the bar and enjoy some wine and appetizers. Fantastic eggplant app, excellent calamari. Both were very large portions. Have to go back to try more selections. Wine prices reasonable and good selection of wine. Second visit: some really great items.. shrimp app, arancini, some less well done. Prime rib looked good, but was grainy. Third visit, tonight: 2 inedible apps that we returned. Soup was lumpy mess of dissolved beans. Stuffed mushrooms were pale white and filing was mush. Flatbread had raw mushy tomato slices and some nice slices of mozzarella . Bread itself was undercooked. New bartender also under-poured the wine and wasn't anywhere as engaged as the bartender we had seen the 2 previous Friday visits. Three attempt... not going back. read more

Our server was Dominic, he greeted us with two waters and a smile ! We ordered drinks and appetizers both were great !! ( I recommended the rum punch and the Arancini! ) For dinner we had carbonara and steak tips wow the marinade on the steak tips is so good! It was Saturday night and we had no reservations so we called and there were tables available when everything else was 1 hour waits. Now we know why!! Thirty dollars for a chicken Marsala dish with 2 small pieces of chicken and over done pasta. Bread and an olive/ garlic tray ( small) included.
