The Chappy Grill is a cozy unassuming but delightful place to eat in the Upper Cape. My wife and I decided to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary by going out to dinner there. We started by calling at 4:30 PM to put our name on the waitlist as the restaurant does not take reservations. We arrived at the opening time of 5 PM. We were warmly greeted and promptly seated. A short time later the whole restaurant was full. Our waitress Lia M was very attentive and present for any needs. She was pleasant and even made our anniversary celebration memorable and special. The food is fantastic, we have been there in the past and ordered their special garlic bread which is fresh and delicious with toasted garlic and cheese on top. My wife and I both had the salmon dish in the menu which included broccoli potatoes and mashed butternut squash. The delicious meal was complete with a cold dessert of chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream. We shared dessert and the presentation was fantastic with included berry double hearts. I would not hesitate to heartily recommend eating here. The ambiance of the dining area is made even more special by a fire in the rock fireplace. My family has been coming to Chapoquoit Grill for many years, so we were expecting a good meal out when we dined there last night. Instead, we had one of the worst dining experiences in recent memory. Before we ordered, our bread plates arrived, and one of them was covered in caked-on tomato sauce. Several of us ordered the shrimp fra diavlo pizza. My wife's pizza arrived with three tiny pieces of shrimp on top. Both my wife and I were sick with severe indigestion later that evening, and the culprit was clearly the food. We won't be coming back! read more

The service is always excellent and other than 1 recent bad meal out of many good meals in many years (hence 4 stars rather than 5) the food is reliably good. My husband and I noticed that the menu has changed recently (now with fewer options) but otherwise lots of tried and true good offerings. It's still a great local restaurant with a friendly ambiance and we will continue to dine there often. read more

My 5 year old and I had a great dinner "date" tonight. I was a little worried that the staff might be put off by me and my young child taking up a table at prime time on a Saturday night, but we were treated like total VIPs! We sat at a cozy high top booth in the bar area. I was impressed by the short but quality wine list and long list of specials. I enjoyed a glass of Sauvignon blanc and my son had a top notch shirley temple with ample cherries. We split an order of garlic bread with pomodoro dipping sauce and both agreed that it was fantastic. We kept it on the table even after our entrees arrived so that I could use it to mop up the extra sauce from my little neck clams over linguine (to die for). My son had the chicken tenders and added truffle salt to his fries at the advice of our lovely server. He gave them a big thumbs up. Our server or another staff member was always nearby - when I needed a second glass of wine, or to collect empty plates or to bring to-go containers - but they never hovered. We had a great visit and will be back again for sure this summer! read more

We had a wonderful dinner at Chapoquoite Grill and it truly exceeded all expectations. From the moment we walked in, the warm atmosphere and attentive staff made us feel welcome. Our group of six was seated at a beautiful round table right next to the cozy fireplace--perfect for conversation and enjoying the ambiance.The food was outstanding. The grilled hanger steak was cooked to perfection and paired beautifully with the truffle fries, which were hands-down the best we've had on Cape Cod. We also loved the Tornelli, Chicken & Broccoli dish--it was packed with flavor and a real standout. Every bite was exceptional.A huge shoutout to our server, Madison, who provided wonderful, attentive service throughout the night. She made our experience even better! Ordered chicken Marsala. Nasty. It was a breaded thick pre made chicken covered in tons of onions in a watery juice. It was not Marsala I've ever had. The real recipe calls for thin cutlets. Nooooo bread crumbs. Shallots. Thickened gravy w actual Marsala wine. Never onions from French onion soup. It was awful. Next time I will only order pizza there. Pretty disappointing. read more

This is a great place for pizza and drinks. The atmosphere is casual and the food is solid. I went two days in a row because we enjoyed it as a couple then invited friends the next night. Drinks are STRONG! Night one we got the pizza special and split a Caesar salad. The sale was basic and had a hint of citrus, which I didn't hate, but it's not for me. But the pizza was spectacular. It's prepared in a brick oven and comes out perfectly crisp. Highly recommend getting the pizza. On night two I got the pasta chicken and broccoli. Not great but also not horrible. Could use more cream sauce. But again, I think this a pizza place. I'll be back often for the pizza. read more

So disappointed tonight with our meal - had the special Korean salmon bbq. - so over salted and not warm - clearly the chef did not taste or try his own dish - Did a re order for steak frites , although meat was better prepared than salmon - beans were raw and cold and fries so salty they could not be eaten. The price point is high for what we received. Our waiter Steven was awesome and worked so hard to be attentive but had too many tables. This recently has been a good solid place , I hope it does not slip again. I post this in the hopes it is seen and they read it and pay attention to the dishes they send out. Never going back, was excited to try this out after looking at the menu. Unfortunately, we couldn't get past the snippy, rude hostesses at the front standing around. We stood and watched other parties going in and getting seated. After 35 minutes decided to find another restaraunt and were greeted warmly, served drinks and treated well just around the corner. 1st time excellent steak dinner, 2cd time my steak was just alright nothing special, my husbands meal didn't arrive until long after mine. Complained to Management and he said next time we come in ask for him and our meal will be comped! That sounded fine. Next time we came asked for the manager several times and he never came to our table. Needless to say our meal was never comped, so again we paid for a so so meal. Appetizers and drinks were excellent! Service with a smile! Burger was asked to be medium, and was rare, Chicken Tornelli was over cooked pasta, bland chicken, very few pieces of broccoli and very Blah sauce, overwhelming, garlic, and watery. I was disappointed because it is a restaurant I feel very comfortable in and staff is amazing. I will be very careful about what I pick. Take out can sometimes be less than great in turns of freshness and warmth. We got back home with our food and put the food into a hot oven just to heat. Chapoquoit Grill is great for anybody who wants to have a quaint, sit down dinner and not break the bank. It has a welcoming, cozy feel with a fireplace in the main dinning room to complete the aesthetic. They have a pizza counter, a full bar, and plenty of seating so even though there's typically a wait to be seated on most evenings, you can grab a cocktail in the meantime and enjoy chatting with the other people that are waiting along with you!!! This place does not take reservations unfortunately, however you can do a "call ahead" to put your name on the waiting list so that you're ahead of people who might be walking in after you give your name to the hostess over the phone. So onto the food and service. I have never had a bad meal here, and the service is very good, even on particularly busy nights. I would highly recommend the mushroom risotto entree special (when it's on the specials for that night) and also their salmon is absolutely delectable. For desert, I would recommend any of their house made Sorbets - their flavors chance frequently but I had Mango sorbet back in December and it was my favorite sorbet I've ever had. All in all, it's a very solid establishment. Their prices are very reasonable (salmon entree $24 for a generous filet and the risotto was $18 if I recall correctly). The servers are attentive and do not "hover," which for me is a big no no. The female server that I had last night was very personable and really did a great job. I would highly recommend Chapoquoit Grill to pretty much anyboody! they have something for all palates - Vegan options, large juicy Steaks, Signature salads, fresh seafood, plenty of burger & pizza options --the list goes on! 4/5 stars will definitely be returning to Chapoquoit Grill for more great food!!! read more

I really enjoyed this cozy, inviting restaurant- located away from the commercial strip in Falmouth, this was a welcome change given the summer chaos and long waits at restaurants on Main Street. I tend to enjoy sitting at the bar for meals, and this was no exception! The bartenders were friendly and helpful, happily getting me additional information about the meal's ingredients to address my food restrictions. A nice glass of wine (an ample pour), a delicious salmon burger on greens, and good company made this a place I'll be likely to return. read more

My parents live in Falmouth so I've been coming here for years. If it is a summer weekend expect to wait a long time for a table. Some things are very good here: pizza, clams, and even the salads. Other things are not- mussels, waits, and the ravioli. Specifics below: Short rib pasta- this was a special and tasted very good. On the other hand there was a small piece of tin foil mixed in (likely from the preparing of the short rib) which was a big minus. Trust me nothing worse than biting down on tin foil. Mussels- ok but very very highly seasoned. I love salt but the broth was even a bit much for me. Asparagus ravioli- good but the cream cause was a tad too heavy for me. Overall I can't say I love coming here. On the plus side beer prices are reasonable (at least for someone from Cali) read more

We just moved into a house about a mile from Chappy's, and we visited on a friend's recommendation specifically to try John's pizza. Frankly, I was underwhelmed by that dish. The pizza had a nice flavor, but I found it less than filling and difficult to eat; there is no picking it up and it breaks apart under the blanket of arugula so that it's hard to even get it on the fork. It seems like it could be a good appetizer for a larger group, but was disappointing as an entree. On a more positive note, the place is very welcoming and comfortable. The staff was super-friendly and attentive, and the appetizer of thyme french fries with house made aioli was quite good. We'll be back, but I'll be investigating non-pizza options. read more

Outdoor seating the way it should be . Lovely plantings , furniture , and food . We aren't sitting in the street . There is a beautiful area that is safe and beautifully clean . OMG: This place is amazing for food and service. The pre-dinner bread chewy and tasty, my martini and my wife's Malbec excellent. I had a Caesar salad large enough for two, the romaine crisp, the dressing not drenched, the waiter asking if I wanted anchovies (yes), my half order of manicotti with a meatball tasty and succulent and half of it brought home. This place could be such a great find but fails to meet its potential. Initially my friend and I walked into a big crowd of people all searching for the hostess. The hostess and her male counterpart came back up to their little desk only to not greet anyone. Then the very young boy host all of a sudden just grabbed some menus and started walking to the dining room.... the party he was supposedly leading had no clue and explicitly asked him "should we be following you?" and he just stood there and then kept walking with out acknowledging their question....???? Then the hostess just stared at me when I moved up to her desk, no type of greeting or explanation for our 15 minute wait. We get to our table and the waitress told us there's no AC! I ordered the goat cheese salad which was good and the antipasto. The antipasto was a joke- I think the salami was from the local 7/11. There a couple slices of bland mozzarella and like 3 olives on a bed of huge greens which took up the whole plate when there should have been more meats and cheeses. They should add hard cheeses and a brie and honey, things that a basic antipasto board should have. The most weird part of the entire night was when the bus girl wearing a seashell necklace came. My friend wasn't done with her meal and she quite literally ripped the plates away. She made no attempt at asking us how our meal was or if we were finished or even smiling. We even said thank you and she just ignored us. These things I mentioned are simply attitude fixes and are not a tall order to ask for. Yeah ok maybe it's a busy night or you might be mad that the AC is broken but the customer is not responsible for that and therefor should not be penalized by your terrible attitudes! read more
