Came here this morning for my sugar snack and was very impressed with the friendliness of this little bakery and donut shop. Immediately upon entering both the person at the counter greeted me and the cooks in the back greeted me. This place is not just donuts but looks like they make some pretty amazing cakes as well. Unfortunately I had forgotten my phone in the car so I was unable to get any photographs of those. I typically like to judge a donut shop on their cinnamon rolls. I had a hard time identifying the cinnamon rolls, Because they were so heavily glazed with icing. I typically am not a big fan of a lot of icing on my donuts or my cinnamon rolls. In spite of my culinary preferences in this area I went ahead and ordered one. Much to my chagrin's it was a lot of What I really don't care for. I know some peoples tastes are different so I will try not to judge them specifically on that. What I was disappointed in is that I really could not taste the cinnamon roll through all of the icing that was on it. I was also a little disappointed because it did not taste particularly fresh. Nonetheless it was not horrible, perhaps my tastes are just a little off this morning. I will give them another try in the future and update my review at that point.

I asked Soonja's"s Bakery to create a 2 tiered cake for the first baptism of one of our grand children. We discussed different options, I made my selections and we scheduled a pick up time. The pick up needed to be Sunday morning and he offered to come in on his day off to provide that service! The cake was beautiful, just what I had imagined. And it tasted delicious! I highly recommend this bakery!

The cake I ordered came out perfect! I messed up with the the lettering but James was a life saver and was able to fix it right away! Go show them some love and they will take care of you every time!

I ordered a custom cake here two weeks before for my husband's birthday day! I gave then a reference picture and i wanted to get the exact same one! James promised me he will get the perfect finish but he can do the top layer with rice crisp for it to hold. I agreed but my only requirement is the finish. I am not at all satisfied with the way it turned out! And i had to pay full price since he is on vaccinated which is 150 dollars and i bought the macaroons myself. The first one is the reference and the second pic is the one they made. The colors are not same im okay with the heart size since thats what we agreed up on before hand. I absolutely dint like the finish of the heart! read more

The cake not only looked beautiful but the taste was out of this world. We got a cake that would feed a lot more of the guest than what we had, as we only had 26 people show for the baby shower. - I usually don't complain or write any reviews but I had to vent about this cake. When you ask for strawberry filling inside the cake, you would think they would mix it in with some icing. They basically just sliced some strawberries and stacked the other layer of cake on top of it. How is it supposed to hold? And when I went to pick up the cake, they didn't even design it the way I asked them to. There were supposed to be lil black fondant dots all around the cake and she forgot to do that. She found some random large fondant circles and a couple of black flower fondants and just stuck them on the plain white cake with three pink buttercream roses on top. The design did not match at all and was basically just thrown together. We've always ordered cakes from Soonja's bakery but didn't realize that they changed ownership. So disappointed in the design and the dryness of the cake. I reached out to the lady that worked there and even texted her this photo and didn't get a response back. This 8 inch cake was definitely not worth $110! read more

Quaint little bakery in a corner strip off Alpha and Montfort. They take orders for wedding cakes and special occasions, as well as bake donuts and some sweet bread during the morning for the week and weeks. One satisfied mom!! Super late post, but they did an AMAZING job on my son's birthday cake! He had no idea what type of cake I was getting him this year. All I brought in was a picture of how I wanted it to look or say and they did JUST THAT! They went above and beyond for his birthday! When I tell you my son loved his birthday cake, he LOVED it and he was just as surprised! I couldn't be happier with the outcome and just seeing him full of joy over a cake was the cutest! I ordered a custom Mermaid cake for my wife's birthday, showing the owner, James, photos of what I wanted. He delivered wonderfully, with an imaginative design using the colors we requested. And the cake and icing taste were fantastic. At first the icing was sooo smooth I thought it was fontant, pretty but sometimes tasteless but no, it was delicious buttercream swept very smooth! This is my second cake from Soonja's and they do not disappoint!! The first was in April 2020 for my boyfriend's birthday. He LOVESSSS Popeyes so I decided to try to get him a surprise birthday cake during quarantine. HE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. The second was in May 2020 for my parents' 30th wedding anniversary. Love this place! The workers are so sweet! My cake turned out beautifully and it tasted great too! Shocking! Now a days, you either get one or the other. Either it looks good and taste like crap or it looks bad and tastes great... but I was really happy with Soonja's Bakery. Our cake wasn't too sweet and it was SO MOIST! I would've given them five stars but there were just some minor details that could've been avoided--such as the detail work. I ordered a simple but classy bunny theme cake for our Baby Shower and the toothpick was slightly showing in the back and the fondant was starting to flake, but they touched it up for me before I left! I'll be back for more cakes for sure. read more

I want to thank Soonja's Bakery!!!! I called on a Thursday asking if they could make this cake for me that I found on Pinterest. I sent them a photo and it came out perfect!!! Just as I imagined!!! I am very pleased with the design!!! Now what's on the inside is chocolate cake! I am a cake person and this cake was very moist and delicious!!! I loved it! Soonja's Bakery was a huge hit at my sister's birthday party. She wasn't expecting her baby picture to be on the cake. I had never ordered a cake like that before but it turned out perfectly. One of her cake designers walked me through everything I wanted on the cake and I was so happy when I saw it, when my sister saw it and when everyone took a bite. Not only was it awesome to look at, it was delicious. We chose the vanilla fondant and marble cake. I love that Soonja even matched the frosting color to the baby pillow in the photo. They had also run out of napkins by this point, but the worker gave us some makeshift food equipment paper to use as a napkin which was nice. Since it's at Klyde Warren park there's lots of tables to sit at near the truck and a public restroom located across the park from the truck. Would go again, but probably wouldn't order the horchata donut.

Although she agreed to make the new drink, her body language and facial expression made it clear that she was annoyed by the request. When the drink was finished, it was noticeably underfilled, leaving a surprisingly large gap between the liquid and the lid. Unfortunately, the taste of the drink itself was also disappointing, as it mostly just tasted like milk rather than matcha. Finally, I was disappointed with the value for the price. The donut I ordered was quite small, yet it cost around five dollars. I understand that people have hard days, and I typically do not write reviews, but I wanted to share this feedback so these issues can be addressed internally.

Yup. CAKE BALLS. We were all pretty full, but still wanted to try them all. I mean, when you're presented with the choice of Snickers, Oreos, Butterfinger, Cinnamon and Sugar, [Fruity] Pebbles, or Cherry Glaze it's pretty hard to single out the best flavor. I ended up getting their 3 most popular ones: Snickers, Butterfinger and Pebbles. There's one thing that you need to know about these cake balls. They're not like any other you've tasted. Usually, cake balls are made from a mixture of cake batter with a lot of icing to keep it moist. Beckett's method is to use a donut hole as the base encased in a layer of their own special frosting with your choice of candy or cereal. It sounds simple and mundane, but I can assure you that these were some of the best cake balls I've ever had in my life. The donut base was pillowy and moist. With the super sweet frosting it melded perfectly into what seemed like a piece of heaven in every bite. The crushed candy was the icing on the cake, per say, adding different flavors and textures to each ball. I really can't explain it more than I have. It was just pure awesomeness. In an environment where pretty much everything is fried it was a welcome surprise to find a stand that served something different. I spoke with the owners and they said they were in the process of relocating their business from Tulsa, OK to Dallas. Their presence in the Big D will allow us to enjoy some of these awesome cake balls year round instead of having to wait until the State Fair runs each year. Happy dance. If you're looking for something different keep your eyes peeled for Beckett's. I'm sure you will enjoy their cake balls as much as I did.

The beignets were made fresh to order and took about 7 minutes to come out. They were hot, soft, and very fluffy, almost more similar to a donut than a traditional beignet. Since most of my beignet experience comes from New Orleans, Louisiana, I definitely had a different texture in mind going in. I personally wish they had been a little crispier, especially around the edges, but they were still decent and enjoyable. Overall, I had a good experience. Between the welcoming atmosphere, attentive service, good coffee, and fresh beignets, I would definitely try Le Bon Temps again without hesitation.

The last time I had these noodles, there were perfect, so it was really disappointing to have this batch be so off. The waitress was pretty inattentive throughout our meal later on, a manager checked in on us, and we had to ask her for the check since our waitress was no where to be found. Overall, we left with a bad impression of this meal. Knowing the Uptown Dumpling is capable of so much more is just a tough pill to swallow. We had a last min idea to order a specialized cake for my manager's retirement party. I called on a Tuesday and didn't think they could have the cake ready by Thursday. To my surprise not only was the cake ready for pick up on Thursday he had it ready earlier than we discussed. I was blown away by the customer service...EXCELLENT! When I arrived and saw the cake I was speechless, it was everything I wanted and more. He even went the extra mile and helped me secure it in the car. Although the cake was beautiful I was still nervous about the taste...the day finally came we took our first bite, and to our delight the cake was delicious. It was moist and had the perfect sweetness. I normally don't eat cake frosting, but with this cake, I ate every last drop of it. One of the best-tasting cakes I've ever had. I've used Soonja's Bakery twice and both times they were wonderful. We had to order a Groom's Cake last minute and he wanted a Dallas Cowboys Star and it came out WONDERFUL. We had so many compliments on the cake we were so excited. I then wanted a special cake for my niece something affordable but NICE for her the theme was Princess. So Rafael did just that, he created a cake that was so adorable for the party and affordable for me!!! I will continue to use Soonja's Bakery for my large wedding events as well as cute causal events. They are very professional and understanding and work to each person's needs. Absolutely professional, courteous, personable service. And don't let me forget the SAMPLE CAKES!…read moreAbsolutely MOIST, SWEET, and DELICIOUS! I am shopping bakers for a wedding next year. Lauren and her team responded very quickly even with the COVID they are clean, and most helpful to people (me) who isn't even a booked client yet. I explained what we were doing and our wedding date. I was advised to wait maybe 4-6 months out to make an order but they also told me to come pick up sample cakes from Lauren who was live in the flesh! Lol. If you do not recognize this woman you are in the dark. The cakes were wonderful. It was wrapped nicely. I was able to drive from north Dallas back to work 30 mins out and my cakes were still cool to enjoy. The sample cakes she had were 6 pieces along with a card on each flavor. They are definitely on top of this Covid thing. Normally you would be able to come in and try out cakes but they made it possible to enjoy and sample in the comfort of you home. In my case, comfort of my car. Me and my future husband definitely enjoyed them and the taste has us super excited. Only reason I'm not giving them a well deserved 5 stars is because I haven't ordered my wedding cake yet. I review is based on initial email contact, face to face visit and the amazing sample cakes. I'm sure I'll be back to add that last Star in 2021 :)
