The place is small, they have a good layout and figured out what makes most sense but the customers have no clue the order to go in, I had 2 people just walk in and try to order (I don't want to sound kindergarten but cut) and the girl in the front didn't seem to know how to tell them to go to the back of the line. I think she even ended up taking one customers order that had just walked in. The matcha was soooooo good! A little on the sweet side for me but def lots of quality there! Loved all the pastries and donuts I got- my husband enjoyed them too!
My husband and I shared: - Strawberry Riciarelli - Lemon Ricotta Bostock - Cinnamon Roll Brioche - Strawberry Pistachio Brioche Everything was delicious. The cinnamon roll brioche and strawberry pistachio brioche were my favorites. There were probably 10 different things I wanted to try. If you're looking for fantastic donuts in Dallas, you need to try this spot!
The was a new take on donuts we've never had. My family went nuts over the donuts. The breakfast pockets were very delicious. The shop looked very nice and upscale. They layout with the line wrapping around the inside of the store was very intelligent. The staff was friendly and patient with our orders.
Very cute shop with a few tables inside and some seating on the outdoor patio. Employees were really nice and helpful with ordering. The pineapple passionfruit cruller was just ok (not my favorite flavors though so I'm a little biased) but the chocolate brioche donut was really good. The snickerdoodle espresso was also quite good! Would go again.
La Rue Doughnuts is a cute little spot tucked into the Trinity Groves area. The shop itself is small and can get pretty busy, but don't let the line scare you off; they run a super efficient operation and it moves quickly. The pastry case is impressive. Tons of options, both savory and sweet, and everything looks incredible. I had the cinnamon roll brioche donut and it might be the best donut I've had. Perfect texture, rich flavor, and not too sweet with a delicious icing on top. The cookies were massive, and the savory items looked just as tempting. I might have to go back and try one of everything next time. They also have a solid coffee and drink menu with teas and specialty lattes. I kept it simple with an Americano (trying to avoid the sweeter drinks), and it was solid. Can't wait to get back and work my way through the rest of the menu. Definitely worth the stop if it's not already on your list.
I was in the area during fall time and I've had this doughnut cafe bookmarked for a while now, so I knew I had to stop in to grab a few items! It was early afternoon on a Friday when I stopped by and it was not busy at all (there was maybe one other customer). I had heard great things about the donuts so I had to grab a vanilla brioche donut, and then I was also drawn to both the salted brown butter chocolate chip cookie and the apple chausson! Everything was spectacular and you can tell they really know how to bake up a delicious treat. The apple chausson (kind of like a turnover) in particular was phenomenal! I will absolutely be back to try more items on their rotating menu in the future :)
I found out about La Rue Doughnut in Dallas from my Daughter and her boyfriend when they stopped there Yesterday to pick up some of their delicious treats. I asked them to get me one of the French Toast Doughnuts but they were sold out so they got me the Chocolate Brioche doughnut along with the Passion Fruit Brioche Doughnut hole/cube and a Oatmeal Cream Pie cookie. They were packaged in a cute box with the La Rue Doughnut logo on it and they smelled and looked amazing. Their doughnuts are fresh and tasty and I wish I had more! We will definitely be going back to this place very soon to try their other menu items! So glad we found them!!
La rue, my boo, crème de la crème, it was such an honor to discover your art. We walked in planning on only getting 4 doughnuts, and we walked out with 10 doughnuts and a pistachio cookie. It's like giving a toddler berries, if you give them one they want the whole box. Each doughnut was so unique and flavorful in its own way. The French toast and strawberry doughnuts were highlights, hell they were special. As someone that ate 5 doughnuts, I can honestly say my only regret is not getting more.
I've had La Rue 3 times in less than a month, no I can confidently say I am a fan of their donuts. The location is small, but I haven't visited during peak hours so it's never been an issue for me. There are a few tables to sit outside to enjoy your meal during the warmer months. I have tried maybe 5 different flavored donuts, a tea latte, and a kolache, and I can say they are worth every penny. This is not your cheap donuts you can find around the corner, the brioche donuts taste artisan and expertly made. The kolache is hands down the best kolache I've ever had, which is saying a lot because I've tried many around the DFW area. They have a monthly rotating menu, so there's always a reason to come back, which I will be doing soon!
Wowowow I loveddd this bakery. Super cute and easy to access in trinity groves. The breakfast pocket was the star savory item- I almost bought a second and will definitely be back for that alone. I also got the garlic and cheese kolache but was not impressed, I would go for other breakfast items. The donuts and other pastries are incredible! I got the vanilla brioche, french toast, cookie butter donuts and the churro croissant. Everything was delicious and sugary without being sickly sweet. Even saving some for later in the day they held up well. I will 100% be back to try other items and some drinks.
The donuts are amazing, but the condescending attitude we received from our donut picker today left a bad taste in our mouths. I've been here before and always had a great experience, which made this visit especially disappointing. Do better, La Rue please don't let poor customer service ruin an otherwise great local donut shop.
Brioche donuts are made with beef tallow Passionfruit cake bite - passionfruit flavor was in the icing and the bread was just right Strawberry lime brioche donut - 100% agree this is how a donut should taste like. The subtle crisp from the deep fry with beef tallow, the huge strawberry flavor at start, the refreshing like aftertaste. This is a memorable donut Cinnamon French toast sticks - loved the crunch on the outside and how soft it was on the inside. I swear an angel kissed this to be just right for me Banana chai latte was also just right on the banana flavor and chai flavor. I wish I got a large! Great staff and not much dining indoors but you can sit outdoors. 10/10 would get them all again read more
What a cute little doughnut and coffee shop! I came on a recommendation because it is known that I like desserts. So, I wasn't sure what to expect. The brioche doughnuts are light yet filling. I got two but really only needed one. Sitting on the patio was a nice, mostly quiet and pleasant experience except for the dogs yapping at each other. Why do people bring dogs to restaurants??? Overall, it was nice and I'll go back. I didn't try any drinks because I actually brought an iced mint tea from a different coffee shop I was also trying. read more
Is it gluttonous to say you'd marry a sweet treat? These are some of the best doughnuts I've ever had. I got the churro cruller, vanilla cruller, chocolate brioche, and the vanilla brioche doughnuts. Of the four I got on my first visit, chocolate was my favorite. I would say churro would be my least; still very tasty but my least favorite of the four. I also got the creme brûlée ice matcha w/ oat milk on my first visit. 10/10 would recommend. The service was great. Everything is neat and very clean. If you're in a rush, I would suggest coming on a day that you're not. It's a small space and takes the staff a bit of time to prepare your order of greatness. The part that takes the longest is the drinks. It's a popular place so I can imagine the line can get outside the door on a super busy day. I would suggest adding signs that let customers know where the line starts and which line is which. Overall my experience was great. Visits to my best friend will now have to include a stop at La Rue. 10/10 read more

I've heard great things about La Rue and had it bookmarked for a while, so when I was in the area, I finally decided to stop by -- and it did not disappoint! We tried the famous salted brown butter chocolate chip cookie, pumpkin cake, brioche vanilla glazed donut, plain butter croissant, vanilla cruller, double fudge chocolate cookie, plus the Witches Brew Latte and Banana Bread Latte. Everything was absolutely delicious -- rich, flavorful, and perfectly baked. The staff was warm and welcoming, providing excellent customer service. The bakery itself is small but charming, with cute décor and both indoor and outdoor seating to enjoy your treats. I'll definitely be back to try more! read more

Me and hubby saw a mention of this place on instagram so decided to go for a coffee date on a Thursday morning. It's located in trinity groves area. Once inside I liked the setup of all the amazing looking donuts and other tasty treats. I'm more of a matcha girl while my husband likes coffee. The iced matcha latte was really good. I was really torn about what I wanted but I was told that the strawberry cheesecake brioche was only there for a limited time so that made the decision for me. We decided to sit outside where there were plenty of tables. I ate every bite of that donut, it was so good. La Rue Just got added to my donut favorites list read more
La Rue had some decent donuts. It is one of two places near Oak Cliff/SW Dallas that does ~fancy style donuts.~ I have been a few times, but will not return. They switched their frying oil to beef tallow, meaning vegetarians and those that do not eat beef for religious or health reasons can no longer eat there. I reposted on IG to share with my friends and neighbors as a heads up. I mentioned that the timing felt a bit MAHA coded. I got blocked immediately. Totally normal reaction to a post by a nobody. Located in the old Cake Bar location I decided to stop in and see what La Rue had to offer. When I walked in I wasn't greeted - as a matter of fact the young guy behind the counter said little to nothing as if he didn't want to be there - however I proceeded to order and got it to go. The place is still small and seating is mainly outside. Got the double chocolate brownie cookie and a chocolate donut. They can keep the donut as it had a funny taste to my mother and I but that cookie, bag up a dozen and grab us some milk! OMG, delicious is putting it mildly. I seriously plan on going back for more cookies to which I will try some other options but the brownie cookie is a must!! read more

Fancy artisanal donuts you say? Yes please! I have been seeing La Rue online now for quite a while and decided to stop in and try it out. The shop is super cute and inviting and between the indoor and outdoor seats there a lots of places to enjoy your donuts. The staff was helpful and friendly when we entered and took the time to explain the options. We decided on a Toasted Honey Brioche, Vanilla Cruller, and Raspberry and Crème Bostock. The textures of all three were exceptional and the taste was great. I personally preferred the Cruller since it was lighter but still packed with flavor. You really cannot go wrong here and it is well worth the stop if you are in the area. read more
Best doughnut I've had in a while! I got the Pistachio Honey Brioche and it was delicious. It was fluffy, thick, sweet but not too sweet like most doughnuts, and certainly not dry at all! I also got a raspberry matcha and that was seriously GREAT. I didn't care for the caramel brûlée coffee. It lacked flavor and just tasted like espresso w/ milk. The customer service could definitely use some work though. They weren't rude per se, but weren't very helpful and seemed like they just wanted you to grab your doughnut and leave lol. Maybe it was just an off day. Lastly, for those wanting to visit, the inside doesn't have a lot of seating, but there is a covered patio outside that's nice! And they have tons of parking which is a plus. Overall, La Rue is very aesthetically pleasing w/ great doughnuts and matcha :) read more

Best chocolate chip cookie I've had maybe in my whole life. The wait will be long; but it will be worth it. Bummed because I didn't get to try the coffee - we waited 20 min to get to the register, and they said it would be another 20 minutes for coffee. read more
I was a big fan of the pastries at Carte Blanche and was so excited when La Rue opened. - Atmosphere: La Rue is in a small bakery space, but it looks very sleek with white counters and green cabinets. They have a few tables indoors and there is more seating space outdoors. There is short-term parking right outside the shop and a larger lot a short walk away. - Service: They have plenty of people working at La Rue so you can get in and out of the shop fairly quickly, even when it's busy. Sometimes the coffees take a little longer, but they're worth the wait. The employees are friendly and provide good recommendations. - Food & drinks: The pastries at La Rue are top notch. I love trying new things off the rotating monthly menu and if you're a cruller person then this is your spot. The only thing I haven't loved there are the items with pistachios. I prefer a super earthy pistachio flavor and these haven't hit the mark for me. Don't skip the speciality drinks as they're just as good as the pastries! The banana bread latte is next level and I'm glad it's stayed on the menu. - Value: La Rue isn't cheap, but the quality and portion size make it worth the price. I highly recommend going with friends so you can try a broader selection of pastries. read more

In a world of "fancy" donuts, this place is an absolute standout. I was blown away and could not stop obsessing over these. I had the pistachio brioche donut and tomatillo pinwheel. The brioche donut is so smart and unexpected. The donut is soft and fluffy, but not too sweet. It really let the pistachio frosting shine. I am more of a savory person, and I loved that this place had a ton of savory to choose from. The pinwheel had such great flavor and a variety of texture. I especially loved the ricotta. I also thought all of the items were reasonably priced. The only thing was that the set up was a little confusing, I wasn't totally sure where to order but the ladies helped point me in the right direction. This is an absolute must stop! read more

Visited La Rue for the first time on a Friday morning and was really excited as I had heard great things about it. The snickerdoodle latte was absolutely delicious and I will definitely be back for it. The had a plethora of pastries to choose from, many of which sounded delicious, but I went with the spiced apple cinnamon rolls. It had real apples inside and the cream cheese was amazing. My only 'complaint' about it is that I wish it was warmed up. Parking was fairly plentiful and there while there was no seating inside, there were a good amount of tables outside. I like how you can see into the back where they are making the pastries. Can't wait to go back and try more! read more

Best Artisan Doughnuts in Dallas, not even close. Doughnuts made from scratch, unique flavors, and to die for texture. I am personally not too hot on traditional doughnuts as they are heavier, but the signature crullers are so light and airy, with no loss in flavor. Highly recommend. The Honey Pistachio Latte is my personal favorite drink. Friendly staff, beautiful interior, lots of parking. read more
Tucked behind Art Park on the edge of the Trinity Bridge, La Rue Doughnuts is a hidden gem that exudes elegance with its timeless style and cozy café culture vibe. My sister and I tried the jalapeño sausage roll and the raspberry passion crumble. The sausage roll was snappy, savory, and had a great depth of jalapeño flavor. The raspberry passion crumble was tart and fresh, with just the right touch of sweetness. I'm already looking forward to going back to try more of their delicious treats. read more

I loved everything tasted here at this amazing bakery. Including seasonal flavors of passionfruit crullers, beef kolaches, chocolate chip cookies, and, banoffee doughnuts. Lovely service no matter when. Bright and cheerful is their shop. At this point, with no inside seating, I usually take my box of treats home. Yet best it is when weather permits, I would also order one of their delightful coffee drinks and enjoy my treats out at their wonderful patio right there and then! CHEERS! read more
Yum! So delicious. Fluffy, sweet without being too sweet, and so many options. I want to go back. The line appeared long as it was out the door but it moved super fast. I got an iced coffee that was delicious. We sat outside, and thankful that we did as it was beautiful out and we made a crumbly mess! read more
