I'm a little bit, embarrassed about how long it took me living here to visit this spot. I love visiting new bakeries and I live like five minutes away and I've lived here for three years. I don't think oak cliff bread has been in this spot for that whole time I could be wrong. anyway, today I finally came. It's a very cute local spot with lots of yummy breads and pastries. I came in a little bit late for the morning, so some stuff was out and they were preparing lunch items. I ended up going with a loaf of country sourdough, a blackberry, cream puff and an almond croissant so far I've only eaten the cream puff, but it was delicious and I can't wait to try the other items. The folks there were very friendly and helpful. I always like to ask what people recommend.

If you are looking for a way to treat yourself, look no further than OCB. And we aren't just talking about sliced bread here. We are talking about artisan bread, that makes you ask yourself why haven't you tried this before today? OCB sends out a weekly newsletter letting you know what they are baking this week and from that newsletter I decided I was due for a stop in. As a late in the day stop, things can be sold out for the day but luckily I was able to get what I came for, the short rib pastry (I asked for one with the least amount of onions) and the raspberry cream puff. I barely made it to my car and absolutely didn't make it out the parking lot before I tore into the raspberry cream puff. Flaky buttery puff, cream and fresh raspberries but wait there's more, there's pasty cream on the inside! Absolutely yum! The short rib was on the savory side and my only complaint was I needed more whipped potatoes to go with that chunk of tender beef. It was delicious and I could have eaten another. The folks are nice, it's a small business, so go and support them while you treat yourself to some darn good bread options . . . We will worry about the carbs later!

Come Early - often Sold Out by late morning! (Saturday, 02/08/25)

Nestled in Tyler Station is this family-owned gem of a bakery. Warm and friendly welcomes. Finding myself here weekly lately. First and foremost I come for their amazingly tasty "Focaccia", fluffy and soft inside, crisp is their crust. Then, there's their weekly specials of cookies and pastries, including loving bites of my most recent purchase of their "Beignets"! Small and inviting it is. A bit of scheduling I need to make to come early for their daily bakes gets sold out quickly. Please note: Oak Cliff Bread is only open on Thursdays, Fridays, and, Saturdays! CHEERS!

A little secret gem that cooks up the world's best loaf of sourdough. It's now become our weekly ritual to grab a sourdough from Oak Cliff Bread. Don't sleep on this place, it's so good!

    Pan au chocolat

I visited this bakery because I was in the neighborhood and I ordered their pan au chocolat, cardamom bun, and a cold brew. This is not a coffee shop but definitely a bakery! They were easy to get to but they don't have a lot of indoor seating so this is a place where you pick up sourdough and other baked goods and leave. They are very delicious! All the baked goods were warm and freshly made. The pan au chocolat was very fluffy and the cardamom bun was flavorful. The cold brew was okay and I wouldn't go here specifically for the coffee. The service was super fast but they did not have a menu inside the store so we just looked at the glass case and ordered from there. They didn't have a lot of options for drinks (like lattes and espressos). They have a limited selection and a fridge for their drink items. There wasn't a lot of ambiance since I see this place as a stop&go.

    Pain au raisin. Great lamination.

Finally got to check out this bakery after hearing so much about it. There's a couple tiny bistro tables and a bookshelf but I wouldn't count on being able to ear sur place. I got a Pain au Raisin which was super flaky on the outside, moist on the inside with delicious plump raisins, and a cranberry walnut loaf which was their special of the day and was absolutely fantastic; a great crunchy slightly charred exterior and super moist and flavorful on the inside. At 1030 AM they were sold out of their other loaves and of the strawberry danish so for best results, get there early!

Oak cliff how offers sandwiches for Thursday's and Friday lunches. If you come on weekends, must get there early. They sell out. I have had the focaccia ham sandwich with arugula and it was bomb! Tried the meatball sub today and it was also bomb!!!!

Focaccia (cut a small sliver, the slice is MASSIVE) and jambon beurre

You know those places you want to gatekeep but still want the business to thrive? This is one of them. Fantastic bread. Great savory and sweet options. They just implemented lunch options on Thurs/Fri at 11:30 and it's amazing. I got the focaccia w pizza toppings (so pillowy and soft) and jambon beurre (nice crusty bread with peppery meat, great butter added on). Staff is always helpful and friendly.

    Great little kids play area

This place was incredible! The best sourdough bread I've ever had. They even had a little train table for my toddler to play at while we enjoyed our pastries.

    The delicious apricot croissant.

Oh man this place is just great. Located in a labaryth maze but the journey is a nice one especially since you reach baked good Narnia. So many options but I recommend the French baguette, croissants, focaccia and apricot croissant. All of which were some of the best I've had in DFW.

    Ham and cheese

Today I had the ham and cheese croissant and a cinnamon roll. First off, heat them up just a little bit. I wished they offered this as part of their customer service. Anyway their croissants are the flakiest most buttery croissants ever. I've been to Paris a few times and this croissant is better than the ones I had there. The cinnamon roll was ok. It's not super gooey and I like gooey. I do like that the icing isn't heavy and sweet. If croissants are your jam, go visit. Sorry I ate the cinnamon roll before I could take a picture.

    Beautiful baguettes
    Han C.

The best bread you'll ever have. The baguettes are crisp on the outside while moist and chewy on the inside. The danishes are all delicious. And if you ever see anything bacon (bacon gruyere croissant, bacon egg and cheese brioche) - grab it. It's so good, especially reheated just ever so slightly in the air fryer so the bacon perks back up to its full glory. One day I'll get there in time to get their chocolate chip cookies (it was not today), but at least it let's me have something to live for.

I started with the croque monsieur, and it was exactly what I was craving. The cheese was perfectly melted and bubbly, and that hint of dill on top really pulled it all together. I also grabbed a slice of the lorraine quiche, which was incredibly savory with a crust that was so buttery and flaky it practically melted in my mouth. For dessert, the chocolate kouign-amann was a total standout, super crispy on the outside with those rich, sweet layers inside. I paired it with an iced chai latte, which was perfectly spiced and not overly sweet. They have a small outdoor seating section that is perfect for catching some fresh air while you eat. The whole experience felt so authentic and high-quality. I am already looking forward to my next visit!

The blueberry scone was fresh and although I only pinched a small bite from it, I could tell it was moister and more flavorful than most, well done! I wanted to try the Chocolate Kouign Amann, since I had no idea what it was, lol. It was packed with chocolate, but it wasn't fresh, the wonderful flaky pastry was rock hard. And now the quiche - I wanted SO much to love it - it was bursting with ham and the pastry looked lovely. But the pastry was SO hard that I couldn't even cut into it! I wanted to eat it with a fork but had to pick it up to bite the top part, since it was like wood. And the entire bottom of the quiche was drenched - when I bit into a bite from the lower part, all this water came squirting out - every bite that touched the bottom part of it was squirting water! I was so grossed out, why was this happening? Unlike my fave place La Madeleine, they only send you a slice, so sadly that was my one and only experience with Village Bakery quiche. Really wish it would have been better, the other reviews showed promise.

There was a huge assortment of danish, butterfly cookies, and a variety of other baked goods. We debated about which ones to buy and picked out our favorites. They were delicious and freshly made. Service was great and they were very patient as we tried to make up our mind on which pastries we were going to buy. Prices were average for what you would expect for a homemade pastry shop. The shop had a comfy feel with cute tables and posters on the wall. We would definitely go back for more baked goods.Yum!
