This place was such a great find by my out of town friend! I love their pecan shortbread cookies (they don't stand a chance when I buy them). I've also bought their frozen cookie dough and a bunch of goodies to add to my in-laws Christmas gift. I really need to get back here early on a Saturday or Sunday and try their breakfast biscuits. Parking is in the back, I still haven't really figured it out but you're in and out so quickly I don't think it matters. Customer service has always been great. Don't come here on a diet lol! This is a cute black owned bakery in Dallas with an inviting and homey atmosphere. I love their extensive pops of red. I came here for the banana bread which looks like more like a muffin cake. I was hesitant on how it would taste but then at first bite I was in love. I absolutely love that there's version with nuts and those without. I do not like banana bread with nuts so I loved that there's version wee options. I saw a number of cookies. These are definitely your thicker and more dense cookie based on appearance. Quite a lot of flavors to choose from. I was a bit overwhelmed so I just settled for the banana bread but next time I come I'll try a cookie for sure. They also make cinnamon rolls which are really popular so definitely check them out. Unfortunately, they were out. :( Since we were there already, I figured we'd try something else, so we got the Strawberry Cookie. It was nice and soft, kinda doughy, which I like, but I could hardly taste the strawberry. We were told that they used freeze dried strawberries in it, but maybe they could've used more of a Strawberry compote to give it more flavor? Just a thought. Kessler Baking Studio is such a cute, cozy Black-owned spot in Bishop Arts! As a first-timer, I was honestly overwhelmed by all the fresh, beautiful baked treats. I was picking up goodies for a friend visiting Texas for the first time, so I grabbed the Signature Texas Pecan Shortbread Cookie, made with real Texas butter and Texas grown pecans. For myself, I got The Miss Debra (the cashier called it "Lil Miss Debbie grew up" ) a grown-up twist on the classic favorite! The oatmeal cookies were perfectly soft, and that buttercream filling... OMG, it just melts in your mouth. Absolutely delicious‼ Customer service was amazing as the cashier was patient, welcoming, and even included a sweet note. This place is amazing! I'm a chocolate lover so it takes a lot to impress me but these guys did their big one! First the owner Clyde comes and and greets you, he walks you through the menu and the treats he has. He also gives you suggestions based off of your tastes and overall was absolutely wonderful. This is a cute little spot that has tables and a cute vibe! They also have drinks of all sorts and any baked treat you can imagine (cinnamon rolls, brownies, cookies, cakes etc) As for the good stuff. I got their super fudgey brownie and it was out of this world! It was soft and tender and loaded with chocolate. It was sweet but not overly sweet that you can't take more than a couple of bites. I've had this place bookmarked for a while and the other day my husband sent me a Tik Tok of this place and I knew it was meant for me to go. First off, how freakin' adorable is this baking studio! I hate climbing stairs but it was so cute I didn't care at all! It's small in the front so I would be mindful of that. I knew what I wanted but as I stepped in I saw those Kesslerdoodle rice krispy treats and didn't mind if a diddly doo grabbed one! I also purchased a chocolate chip cookie for my niece, a peanut butter cookie for me, and a snickerdoodle for my husband. I got in the car and immediately opened the rice krispy. OMG okay the thing is huge. I mean you could eat off of it for 3 days. I did it in a few hours. It was so delicious. You can taste the love the owner pored into making that rice krispy. I wish I had bought two of them. I'm eating the peanut butter cookie as I'm writing this review and it is so good. You can taste the ingredients in her baked goods. It's not just sweet. This is one of the places that I should've reviewed years ago. It is one of my go to stops in Dallas and the best cookies in Oak Cliff. I am a Saturday order ahead girl because the biscuit egg sandwiches are incredible. The biscuits are perfectly baked and salted and the cheese is melty and no skimping on the eggs! I truly have sometimes planned my Saturdays around picking up my Kessler Baking Studio breakfast order. The cookies are all great and there's always something new they're testing. First time at this bakery. I often seek out bakeries to try around the metroplex. This is the first bakery that I've walked into in a long time and felt overwhelmed, just by all of the options. There was so much good stuff available for purchase. They also had a whole bunch of frozen cookie dough ready to go. There was also some up cycling products available where they turned yesterday cookies into biscotti's. I was greeted by a very nice employee and walked through all of the options. This is a black owned business that offers a quaint location with inviting atmosphere. The food was impeccable. I can't believe we have been missing out! I rarely take Beckley from the Methodist Dallas Medical Center complex to my home after appointments. It seems like there's been construction for YEARS. But with that over, at least for now, I SAW you today. A sweets goods bakery! Amazing. First let me address the parking. Unless you bike or walk here; there's an alley parking lot or several well marked curbside spots for call in orders. Then you hike around the house to the front. Also, I didn't see a handicapped access. There is a back door; but it's not marked in any way for access and the front is all steep steps. They do deliver, however, and of course, there's curbside pickup. So Kessler Baking Studio has been there for 7 years! The Baker/owner was a 2020 James Beard semi-finalist nominee for Outstanding Baker. I won't go into everything he offers in all those incredible apothecary jars. There's a fabulous website for that! I do understand that on Saturdays, though, Baker Greenhouse offers Breakfast Sandwiches (on his homemade biscuits) along with cinnamon rolls and pop tarts and muffins and other assorted special items. Check it out. Huge cookies are $3. Enormous circular Blondies and Brownies are $6 - $9 depending on whether they have nuts (I think). There's biscotti and pecan shortbread in the shape of Texas and take home cookie dough. I have to confess that we ate parts of everything we purchased from this cornucopia of baker's confections, so there are no pics of those items. They were too tempting. We bought a giant Oatmeal Cream Pie for $5 - 2 oatmeal cookies with basically a vanilla buttercream frosting center. Rich! I had a terrific Lemon Snickerdoodle. My husband bought one of those soft super chocolatey Brownies and a White Chocolate Chip Macadamia Nut Cookie. Gracious!! You have to pace yourself. Service was welcoming, helpful, informative and fun. We enjoyed our time in the store and although we don't live in the neighborhood, we will be back when we are. read more

Super cute shop! I discovered it when i downloaded the toogoodtogo app yesterday and got some discounted cookies! I got $18 worth of cookies (6) for $6 and i think they were maybe a day old? Im so excited to keep visiting this shop and cant believe i hadn't heard of them until yesterday. I asked if they had any gluten free goodies since my mom was flying in and they have 3 cookies and a rice krispy treat that are. I got my mom all three cookies and she has been really enjoying them! I use an app called too good to go and basically the food form different shops and restaurants that will be thrown out get bagged and you get to try items for a discount. So the bags are usually $5.99 for like 8 big cookies. This time I got a pecan muffin, oatmeal cream cookie sandwich and a variety of fall flavored cookies of 7. So I got 9 different cookies/ baked goods from their menu. Each cookie I have had I loved it, they are fresh, you can taste they are homemade and the owner is always really nice. BAIT AND SWITCH. I was pleased with the Kessler cookies I purchased while visiting Dallas. So much so that when I returned back to Oklahoma I ordered a dozen via mail. For 12 cookies I paid $64.90 (no charge for shipping) which was a splurge and an indulgence. HOWEVER, upon arrival, the cookies were 1/3 the size of the ones sold at the store. See pics. I NEVER would have paid such an exorbitant price ($64.90) for 12 miniature sized cookies. I called the store to speak with the owner Clyde on a Saturday. I was told he wasn't in at the moment so I left a message. Because I didn't hear back, I called the next day and spoke briefly with Clyde. I barely had a chance to introduce myself and state the issue before he interrupted me and blamed everything on the shipping service he uses called Goldbelly. He then immediately put me on hold because he said he had a customer in the store. I happily agreed to wait for him. Then suddenly I heard someone pick up the phone then hang up on me. I was surprised but thought he would call me back since I introduced myself and he has all of my contact information which he used to sign me up for text notifications (without my permission). The whole call registered at 1 minute on my caller ID, I've been waiting about half an hour, and I haven't heard back. Update: he called me back, was extremely rude with a nasty attitude, took no responsibility, blamed the phone hang up on his phone system, blamed the size disparity on Goldbelly, and condescendingly and loudly lectured me as if I were the problem. I was a customer with nothing but nice things to say but his treatment of me was unfair, hostile, abusive, and unacceptable. read more

Oh I love it here. I popped in here on a whim and am now fully addicted. They have a huge variety of cookies, brownies, and (I recently learned cinnamon rolls). On my first trip I grabbed an assortment of cookies for my family and now they ask me to stop before Sunday dinner every week! Their faves are the ELemonader, the white chocolate macadamia, and the oatmeal cranberry walnut however I am OBSESSED with the Rice Krispy treats. Seriously obsessed. It's a problem. They also have the giant bottles of vanilla extract that are made with Mexican vanilla and add a layer of complexity to your at home treats.
