The tostada de carne asada was also very fulfilling--lots of meat and a good portion for the price. Everything was reasonably priced. Thank you, Yelpers, for suggesting this taco spot! I'm glad I gave it a try. Downside: There's no assigned parking, so finding a spot can be a little challenging. Also, cash only, so come prepared! About two years ago, I regularly visited this place every Friday and occasionally on Saturdays,…read moredespite the roughly 20-mile drive from my home. At the time, I enjoyed the food and considered the drive worthwhile. However, after the restaurant changed cooks, I noticed a decline in the overall quality and stopped returning. Today, I decided to give it another try and stopped by for a small bite. I ordered the vampiro, but unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations. The meat lacked noticeable seasoning or flavor, which was particularly disappointing given the restaurant's claim of cooking with mesquite coals. The tortilla topping also appeared to be more like a pre-made tostada than a tortilla toasted over an open flame. Traditionally, I would expect a lightly charred tortilla, which adds flavor and texture to the dish. Based on this visit, the quality has not returned to what I remember from two years ago. I was disappointed with the food and do not plan to come back to this location or any other for that matter.

We also got a burrito with asada, beans, rice, cheese, cilantro and onion. Got 8 tacos and 1 burrito for $32. Well worth it. Note: Cash, Zelle or Venmo only

El Sauz is THE late-night munchies spot!…read more I've been coming here for years, and one of the things I love most is that they're open late. I've ordered food here as late as 2:30 AM! They have a sit-down restaurant, a karaoke room, and even a walk-up window outside if you're just looking to grab something quickly. They're known for their tacos and their spicy habanero salsa, which definitely is spicy, be warned. LOL If you're dining inside, the chips and salsa are top-tier. Sooooo good and addicting! My personal favorite is the shrimp quesadillas. They're tiny, but mighty when it comes to flavor! I also like ordering their oysters. So far, they've always been clean, fresh, and hit the spot. They also have Micheladas, both the traditional version made with alcohol and a non-alcoholic version made with mineral water. Both are really good, and I highly recommend giving them a try! And for dessert, the rice pudding is served cold, and it's honestly one of the best I've had. Everyone I've brought here has been happy with their food and their choices, which says a lot because I've brought many friends and family here. As far as parking goes, you can usually find street parking, there's a parking lot, and there's also parking behind the restaurant. I will say the neighborhood is a little sketchy, but if you're local, it's really not a big deal. If you're coming from outside the city and aren't familiar with the area, I'd recommend just dining inside. There's a lot of homeless and liquor store activities across the street. It's usually not a big deal, but again if you're not used to it, you may freak out. Overall, El Sauz is one of my go-to spots for the late-night munchies, post concert, club, bar etc.

Del Real Foods Birria is premade birria that tastes better than this, and you can buy it along with…read morea premade bag of diced onions and tortillas from almost any grocery store. We were so excited to try this place but left very disappointed. It was about $2.7 per taco considering 6 tacos were $16.5. So yeah, given the price, there are higher quality options locally. These unfortunately were crunchy, chewy, premade tortillas, cheese not grilled in properly, birria and chicken so dry and stringy and also tasted premade (you can tell when the meat doesn't retain the juice and is dry, and the flavor is stale), and pickled vegetables that somehow didn't taste pickled. The other problem was the portion of the consomé size, which was way too small. The best thing was the grilled onions and consomé because you literally can't possibly fk that up. Although the consomé was a bit too gravy-like, and thick which considering the quality of everything else...was off putting. Ambiance felt fast paced, cramped parking, and a little dirty from being dated but it also had a fun, casual nightlife vibe. The service was fast and kind. They answered questions quick and politely without rushing us out of line. We had really high hopes for this place. This was not a first time either, we tried these guys years ago but even then it was mid. Now it just confirmed it. We do not recommend coming here unless you are craving tacos you can't make at home with premade ingredients, or find at another restaurant.

Service overall was good-not spectacular but good. Things seemed to take a while to come out and it took a while to get the bill but really no big deal. Food was spectacular though. Super high quality. I loved my seafood chile rellano, they did not go cheap whatsoever on the filling and it was enough to eat the next day as well. My husband got the birria tacos (not pictured) and they were also really good but a little steep for not coming with rice and beans. Ceviche was fresh as well as guac but guac did not come with the chicharron like mentioned in the description. Enchiladas were good too, loved the heat of the sauce. The salsa bar had a nice range of options- I recommend bringing your own container cause the containers they have are waaay too small to enjoy enough of all the amazing salsas. There are often two lines, one to order your food and one for the salsa bar. Be sure to make sure you are waiting in the correct line. My go to order is 1 shrimp, 1 fish, and 1 asada taco. My favorite is forsure the fish taco! The asada also has a nice seasoning and isn't greasy or overly cooked. The salsa bar has multiple salsas that are mostly mild. If you prefer spicy salsa you can ask a worker to get you the habanero they keep in the back. Pairs well with the shrimp and fish taco! 9/10
