Nostalgic vibes are in full effect here for me personally. I grew up eating tacos with flour tortillas believe it or not and it was just that simple thing that made this foodie experience a delicious one. We ordered the Asada and Chorizo tacos that came with a side of guacamole sauce and sliced radishes. Let me tell you, that sauce was banging and topped with radish? It gave it a nice crunchy texture that made this taco a banger. Oh snap, ok I forgot to mention the cabbage too! Combine all those components and you get a banging taco. Since it was my first time I got everything on the side and I hooked it up the way we wanted it. Now I know the next time I order these hand held morsels I'll just get them with everything. The place is small and has limited seating but it moves quickly as people eat and run. The service was good and the vibe is festive. And that's my take on it, Peace
Many visits to this location under my belt and I've never been disappointed. I've also brought loved ones here from out of town and they always enjoy the food, appreciate the service, simplicity of the menu, and the fast casual experience. Staff try to keep the place clean and are always efficient and fast. I'm glad Long Beach has a location now!
Quality Tacos with Delicious Flavors! They make their own tortillas in house which gives them high credibility and they use quality ingredients. Food -Carne asada tacos are DELICIOUS. 5/5 carne asada is tender and cut to the perfect size. Tortillas are handmade. You can't ask for more, it's exactly what a tacos should be. Ambiance -proper Mexican food establishment vibes. It's well decorated inside and they play Mexican music for the vibes Service - no issues Overall if you like tacos or are craving them this, is a great place to check out! It's HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Sonoratown continues to be one of my favorite places for tacos. We are so lucky to have it in Long Beach. They're known for their handmade flour tortillas that have an amazing bite to them. They were just awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand award this week for their excellent, affordable food. One thing that I appreciate about their tacos is that their meats have varied textures. The costilla (rib meat) is a crowd pleaser as you get the taste of the grill/charcoal. They have tripe that is crispy with corn nut texture. Cabeza (face meat) has a stewed texture. Unlike most places in LB, there is two hours free parking conveniently located across the street at the Harvey Milk Community Lot. This is easily one of the best options for tacos in Long Beach and, if you haven't had it yet, then you really should! This is the type of place that we need to support!
After hearing there was a Sonoratown in Long Beach, I had to visit! It's casual dining with quality taste! We ordered with the cashier. I got the burrito de asada and added the poblano. Best choice! I highly recommend! The tortilla was soft and buttery! The Manteca was worth it. Cheese was perfectly melted and everything came together perfectly. Food came out pretty quickly. They also have different sized bags of chips to choose from. We had some with the chiltepín salsa, it was firey hot and yummy! A must try for unassuming Mexican food.
Sonoratown offers some very flavorful and fresh tacos and other dishes with a good selection of meats and toppings. I ordered the steak, chicken, and beef head, all of which were flavorful and tender. The sauces added a nice kick, especially the red one. Their horchata was delicious and very cinnamony. Prices were on the higher end for the portion you get. Overall it's a nice place to visit in the heart of Long Beach.
First time here. My coworkers wanted to eat here for lunch and they are always talking about it. The food was great! I had 2 tripa tacos , 1 asada, and 1 cabeza. To drink an horchata. Service was quick , the servers are all friendly. Small spot but has plenty of seating. I really enjoyed my food. Definitely coming back. One of my coworkers orders the Caramelo, which is a giant taco with all the fixings! It looked really good!! Going to get that next time.
It was decent nothing that wowed me. Margaritas were decent, not crazy flavorful though. Staff were nice and service was decently quick after placing our order. Tried two different flavors of Margarita A burrito 2.0 with asada And a chicken chivichanga which was kinda small and I probably could've eaten two lol. Not a bad spot and I live close so it wasn't out of the way. Limited parking in the area, there is a lot with free two hour parking close by but during events that is a paid lot so be warned. Decent size interior, worth a try if in this side of Long Beach.
My friends have always raved about Sonoratown's tortillas. They definitely lived up to the hype. I got a chicken chimichanga, an asada Carmello, hibiscus agua Fresca and a brown sugar pie. Everything was delicious. The servers are patient with newcomers. The casual spot has simple tables and fun colorful decor. I can't wait to go back to try more.
The tortillas tho.... Have been hearing a ton about this place, so came to give it a try. Interior is super cute with tons of seating. We ordered caramelos with the poblanos inside, as well as their horchata. Tortillas are some of the best I've had. Super soft and flavorful from the grill. The fillings and salsa were good too, but it was really wet, and the bean ratio especially compared to the meat, was a little off. Always am going to want more meat. Horchata was unique since it was coconut based. Overall solid spot with patient staff. Tacos La Rueda is still better, but will be back when in Long Beach.
When you get inside it's a place where you order and then find a seat. We got here on a Saturday before noon and it was already packed but no wait to place our order. First of all one of their workers with the mastche and tattoos is so cute which is always a plus for the ambiance. It didn't take long to get our food. About 5 minutes and they brought it out to where we sat since we dined in. First of all! You need to get an aguas fresca. We got the medium for the orange mango and the Jamaica. They are so natural. I'm a huge fan of artificial flavor so this was a huge shock, but it pairs so well with their food. My only regret isn't getting the large. For the food we got the burrito 2.0 asada and the chivichanga chicken. The burrito was great but very heavy on the beans. Make sure you get extra green salsa. It's their best and a perfect balance of salty with a hint of sweet. The red salsa gets spicy. If you can't handle hot Cheetos don't eat it. Now the chivichanga thing was perfect. It's so tiny but the fact it's about $5 was perfect. I have never had something so well priced and portioned before. The way I can describe it if you ever wanted to taste high class Taco Bell that will make you want four more then you need to try it. And I mean this in the best way possible. It's so cheesy and savory and yummy!!! Truly just from these two dishes we will be coming back to try the rest of the menu. Our next dishes is to try the tacos!
The interior of the shop was very colorful, had a good amount of seating, and had loud festive music playing. We stopped in for a carne asada burrito and bean and cheese burrito on a week night and it was not busy. It's nice that they have smaller burrito options that are around $5! They were served with a grilled green onion and radishes The flavor of the carne asada was good, and the tortillas were nice and chewy and freshly made. The different salsas were tasty and the green was our favorite of the three. I'd say they were solid burritos, would consider dropping by for a quick bite if I was in the area again
Amazing homemade flour tortillas, perfectly grilled meats, fresh ingredients, and fast, friendly service. Easily one of the best taco spots in LA. The official taco destination of IVA High School and, despite his ongoing campaign of misinformation, Mr. Pinzon's personal favorite.

Happy to hear you enjoy what we do Chad! Thank you for the feedback…
First time coming here for a date night with my husband. We ordered the quesadilla with cabeza, tacos with tripa, chivichanga chicken and beans & cheese. Fully recommended. The pineapple drink was good, not too sweet. The staff was nice and parking can be tricky. There is a parking structure across, the first 2 hours are free. read more

Wanted something yummy on a cold day and stumbled across this place. It's a small restaurant with a cute vibe. My husband and I had the burrito with carne asada and the chips and guacamole. All were good, especially for the price which was more than reasonable. The burritos were a little spicy, but I am a spice wuss so take that with a grain of salt. read more

So happy Long Beach has a Sonoratown now! I'd usually drive up to downtown LA for my fix. And now have one that's closer to home. It's still a gem here cause not many people know that it's here. It wasn't crowded at all. I ordered my usual beef chivichanga which is one of the best things ever. The flour tortilla here is unmatched. And the juicy shredded beef is done so right. I also got the steak quesadilla. Which was really good as well. They give you green and red salsas to go with your food. This place is definitely one of my favorite Mexican spots of all time. And now I'll get to enjoy it even more Recommendation: beef chivichanga read more

Overrated. I had a chicken and steak taco. The tacos tasted fresh but it was bland. There was no seasoning on the meat. The horchata is nasty. It actually gives a coconut taste. The customer service was cool. For $3.50 per taco I do not think I will be back. It didn't scream try again to me. read more

Sonoratown suggested by Pedal Movement I once reviewed. Well, I was pretty impressed with food. Size was right and it was very very good. So, at around 2p the place is busy. Line was slow but staff did work overtime. Menu simple, pictures available for clarity and transparency. I had Burrito and chips and guacamole thinking, burrito may not be enough. Ah, but it was. Asked for steak inside. Lady asked me if I want an onion on a side. I said yes. That's the Mexican onion, more elongated than a bulb. Al around, great place. read more

Maybe I got the wrong thing but I got the burrito costilla, meat ratio was off I think it had 4 pieces of meat lol, plus it was real salty, also no diet beverages. Red salsa was good tho and the customer service was on point, burrito 2.0 and a bottle squirt was $18. read more
