I have been coming here for years. The staff are all friendly with the exception of one and maybe she was just having a bad day. It is always busy so an appointment is for the patient's benefit. The wait can be kind of long so plan ahead. The facility is clean inside and out and the chairs are comfy. Bring something to do along with you and relax. read more

There website has completely fallen apart. Normal lab tests from a 7 days prior did not show up in my portal. Other tests that same day did. Now for 2 days their web site is non responsive and displaying errors. Whoever manages there website should be replaced with a quality provider that knows how to handle redundancy, upgrade deployments, and volume. On my recent visit to the location at Riggs/Alma School , the small waiting room was completely full (more than 15 people), with no physical distancing methods in place. The door was kept closed. In addition, the sign-in started with a scan of the phone, but then required each person to use the attached stylus to complete the process. Those who had additional paperwork used the front desk, sharing space and pens. Even with masks, this whole scenario was unacceptable. I stepped outside once for fresh air, but couldn't stay outside because I would then miss being called in for my appointment, which was finally more than 1/2 hour after my preset appointment time. One dispenser of hand gel on a wall does not make up for almost an hour of stagnant air with patients in close proximity. Once I was called to the back for the service, the phlebotomist, Melanie, was excellent. She was personable, meticulous, and the draw was painless. read more

I ordered a Thyroid Panel consisting of 4 values so i would have a set of Thyroid numbers to show my new doctor a week after the Blood draw. They charged my Credit Card and drew my Blood but the Lab Report was not delivered so I will not have any recent results to show my new Doctor. I will never again buy Lab Test from Sonora Quest. Had an appointment at 3:15pm checked in around 3:00-3:10pm and was not seen until 4:00pm. Staff was very rude and unprofessional. One patient was turned away due to not having an appointment but the way it was handled was completely inappropriate and staff was talking negatively about that patient the remainder of the time I was there. Unbelievably bad customer service. I called the day after my lab test to find out what results would be revealed in the print out. No way to speak to anyone there. I went to portal and tried o get results again no results call 602.685.5454 again no human being to talk with. I will never t use them again. If you have super high expectations for places like these then this comment won't benefit you. Service is usually decent, some days are better than decent. Phlebotomists are quick and get the job done, ladies in the front are usually always behind but they'll get you taken care of. A year ago, I went in to get a lot of blood work done. I had insurance at the time, and had assumed that my insurance had covered everything because I never received a bill for the lab work. Almost exactly a year later, I have received a thousand dollar bill for Sonora Quest. I called to ask if it was accurate or if a mistake was made. The woman who answered was very nice, but all she could tell me was that she didn't know why it had taken so long and that it is accurate. I suppose this is partially my fault for not following up, but I had never had insurance before and didn't quite understand how it worked. I understand that sometimes people forget to send invoices, but an entire year later? I've received a separate invoice from them since then, so what happened? I suppose this wouldn't be that big of a deal, except that I am 21 and barely living pay check to pay check. Which is also not Sonora Quest's fault, but damn is this frustrating. So I will not be using them anymore because I can't afford surprise bills and especially not such large ones. Update: Sonora Quest was really quick to get in touch with me and help me figure things out. It turned out to be a misunderstanding and more my insurance's fault than anything else. I gave 2 stars primarily because I did have an appointment and got right in, however they never checked my ID or ensure they had the right insurance info. Thus, I just received a letter, TEN DAYS after the letter date with a DEADLINE of 15 days to send in my new/accurate info or be responsible for all charges. I work A LOT and have limited time. This is where I go every year to get lab work following my annual check up. If you don't have a lot of time to spare, it's best to set up an appointment before going, otherwise expect to wait an hour or more. The best time to go if you don't have an appointment seems to be after 10am. I'm giving 4 stars because I get the service I go in for and only docked a star because during my most recent visit the ladies at the front were going on and on about a peer, while everyone in the lobby listened in on the gossip. read more

I don't even want to give them any stars specifically for their billing practices. They send billing out that doesn't reflect multiple payments that you made previously, then they switch you to their carepayment payment plan that also doesn't reflect your payments but wants you to pay promptly. When trying to contact support, it took literally 32 minutes to get someone on the line to tell me she doesn't know what is going on, she will send for review and if I don't hear from her in a week i should call back. WOW! I just received another bill for an additional $50.00! DO NOT GO TO SONORA QUEST...LAB CORP is so much better to work with. read more

I had a 9:00 AM appt at Sonora Quest @ 5th and Willmot in Tucson. I checked in at 8:45. At a little after nine I still had not been called up to the desk. I went up and asked why I was still waiting and the clerk said they were running behind and they were now seeing patients with 8:45 AM appts. At 9:30 I went up to the desk and complained again. She said I was next and asked for my paperwork. A short time later I was called to have my blood taken. It was 9:46 AM for a 9:00 am appt. I watched several people go in while I was sitting there. I was pretty obvious they were going by check-in time rather than appointment time. What good is an on-line appt system if the clerks wont honor it? read more

What a bunch of jerks. If you have a choice you should avoid this company. I had a test done and I have insurance and I still got a billl. I called and gave them my info again and they still sent me to collections. I called again and they said sorry its to late now and they could not do anything. So I got stuck with the bill for the full amount. I said why don't I just pay you the discounted rate that you would have had to pay the insurance company. They said no we don't have to. So since they screwed up and didn't bill my insurance I had to pay the bill and they were complete jerks when I was trying to take care of it. read more

I get blood work done every 3-6 months and this is where I go. In order to have a reasonable experience here you need to make an appointment online and check in 15 minutes prior. Even then, at times they won't see you until ~15 minutes after your appointment time if they are busy. Such is life in this government-and-insurance-bureaucracy-run medical system. While getting blood drawn, about 1 out of every 8 times I come close to "blacking out" (because I'm a wimp). When I politely tell the phlebotomist about this before they draw, some get an attitude and huff and say something like "don't be fogging up MY windows!" And no, they aren't trying to be funny. I guess some of these "professionals" have a short fuse and treat their work as seriously as the ladies at the DMV. Though when I get a good phlebotomist they are very good. read more

Today I visited the 5310 W Thunderbird location and a young woman by the name of Aloria was my phlebotomist. After the past experiences I've had with the "Other Lab Co" in town, this was the most refreshing experience. The lab was clean, the wait time was less than 15 minutes and Aloria was very kind and professional - she's clearly an expert at what she does. Bloodraw was quick and painless. They told me that I would just be a few moments and after an hour when I went to check I was rudely told by the front desk with a very rude tone we don't know how long that I needed to whist sit down and wait. Make sure to book an appointment before you come in here as your wait will last for more than an hour. The morning is especially full as a lot of people are fasting/ have to get things done before 10am(mind you these people walk in at 930am and complain that they have to get services done by 10am). So if you can come in the afternoon, that will probably be a better experience. The space is clean and the area is in a good spot. read more

I will give no star at all! I had a blood test at one of their lab here in Arizona, The test result should be in the website from 5-7 days since they are sending the specimen out of state. I did not get the result until after 14 days after repeatedly calling them everyday. Sonora didn't even run the test for some reason. Why wait for 2 weeks to tell me that you cancelled the testing. There is no excuse at all. SONORA YOU LOST ONE OF YOUR CUSTOMER! NEVER AGAIN. read more

The people I encountered at the actual office are not customer friendly and the phone schedulers are worse if that's even possible. I was in and out. The wait time was brief. I had an appointment, but maybe walk-ins wait longer, so make an appointment. Also, people often struggle taking my blood. Often they try multiple times and blame it on my small veins or ask if I'm dehydrated. This guy was very skilled and friendly. The blood draw was easy. I want to go to him from now on. In the last several years I have had nothing go right with Sonora Quest - not billing, not service. Significant other who has now passed of pancreatic cancer used them to mail results to Germany....... timeliness was important. Never arrived in a blood timely way. I couldn't get the codes correctly done for a routine pap smear and they were of no help with the doctor and I moved up the entire chain of command. I saw it as a cash end around and I have the best insurance money can buy! There were several other tests that I had problems with and this doctor steered me to Sonora as 'she preferred them'. This morning I tried to get a record of past tests and was required to jump through hoops to get back into the portal.......nothing available pre July of 2015 (I am assuming this is when Banner bought them). Lab Corp had sent me results this morning on a routine urinalysis for a Wellness check!. Piece of case! Portal worked and gave me all this past information that I looked at. I decided to look at Sonora Quest. Nothing (zip) and to get nothing I had to jump through hoops. I then called the number and the person told me nothing is there pre July, 2015. I then received an email that said if I wanted something to go to this page. It sent me back to the first entry page. I have to say I always liked Sonora Quest. I will no longer use them. As a healthy person, I find portals to be about being able to access labs/use them comparatively without having to go to ones printed files. What is the point of this? Of service onnly to doctors? There is something really wrong since Banner bought them 'quietly'..............They are not working in service to the patient so be careful. If you are proactive in your health, Sonora will not work for you. I am a 40 year business owner and something is very wrong with Sonora and their Service. Yes, they are prettier and less third world. They won't be in the future as Banner rolls out cost cutting. read more

I originally scheduled a appointment but end up missing it. So I decided to just do a walk in ofcourse I called and spoke to the lady first because my last experience with sonoraquest at the banner hospital location on dobson and southern went horrible! For this location the lady told me they allow walk ins prior to driving down here. Shure enough I show up got my blood drawn within 5 minutes. The ladies working there was polite and professional. They seemed quite happy making jokes that provided a positive atmosphere. Would I go back of course! But take my advice about the southern and dobson location stay far...far...far...away...as you can from there they had me waiting 2 hours before drawing my blood for the wrong doctor and taking the wrong blood orders and then expected to charge my insurance for theur mistake which is BS. SMH but this location is so far the best I've ben to out of all my sonoraquest visits. read more

However, recently my wife and I have used the Sun City West location (whereas have made previous written and verbal complaints about a specific phlebotomist) and want to make everyone aware there a Phlebotomist there that continues to be rude, poor listening skills, and uses unnecessary force! The billing services for Sonora Quest are the worst ever. They seem unable to just look up my account. I paid online but obviously it was somehow not recorded. I call the billing number listed and they want some type of number that I do not have but the pre-recorded voice does not allow me to get assistance. Then I finally get through to a line and they are closed from noon to 1p. DO YOU WANT MY FREAKING MONEY OR NOT???? WHAT A JOKE. NOT GOING BACK just because of the hassle factor. The phlebotomists and service at the centers are great, but obviously the billing department leadership does not have a clue. read more

Oh boy. The staff and techs were fine. When I checked out they told me my total and when I went to pay it the girl said "Oh the Dr will bill you". The Dr never did bill me but a bill arrived from Sonoran that was exactly $300 more than I was told at check out (basic blood work). I called them and they had no info on why it was $300 more but would I want to arrange payments? I sent in a payment and requested that someone call me and explain. The only response I got was a robocall. When I called back all they would do was again offer arrangements for payments. I was already sending payments (3 months, $50 at a time) with requests for someone to tell me what the extra charge was for. I kept doing this and yet they started sending threatening letters regarding turning me over to collection. I called my Dr several times who said they were not returning his phone calls and also said that he had seen this before with them, that they would charge extra and give no explanation. His office manager said they never saw a bill for basic blood work cost this much. Stay away from this business sorry to say! Someone in billing is ruining an otherwise perfectly good business. read more

I was referred that this site and was taking a friend who has very limited mobility. I had no idea that it was appointment only mind you this was after having my friend have to navigate to and from plus in the heat. Sooooo when I got there they were not busy but for an appointment it was come back in two hours. Come on man you can clearly see that I have a physically compromised person with me. Nope I had to have her struggle back to the car and go down the road again and face rudeness the second time. Again a young 20 something female who had no clue on how to think outside the box. Very condescending saying "Have a nice day " Clearly scarastic. Yor front desk people clearly need an education on manners and courtesy and how to diffuse someone who is upset at a situation. All that would have been needed was a hey let me check and see what we can do. No effort at common sense customer service. Also minimal manners. I have a daughter who was very worried about getting her blood drawn as she suffers from panic attacks. The Tempe office was fabulous -Shannon at the front desk extremely helpful and Carlos the person who drew her blood turned out the be the angel we needed to get the task accomplished.I wanted to thank the whole team for being gracious, friendly, professional and helpful - I highly recommend this lab - it has a great team of people, you feel it when you are in there, they really work together and it puts one at ease read more

I purchased a patient ordered test and got my blood draw. That part was fast and efficient but their patient portal has been down all week so I can't get the results without visiting their Tempe headquarters. There's no point in getting a test if there are no available results. read more

My Doctor (Dr. Marc Lee in Phoenix) ordered routine blood test. He has a little Sonora Quest blood drawing service in his office. Blood test also included a Vitamin "D" level. I was deficient in Vitamin D. Medicare disallowed the charges $247.75; yes this $247.75 was just to check Vitamin D level. Medicare disallowed it for not medically needed. Apparently they (Sonora Quest and Dr. Lee) did not use the proper billing codes. In spite of several calls and letters, the situation was not corrected. Now Sonora Quest has turned it over to collection. I tried to pay the charges for the test what Medicare would have paid Sonora but Sonora wants the exorbitant amount of $247.75 which I refuse to pay. The Doctor ordered the test. Sonora is part of his office. I had no choice. Besides, Sonora people are down right rude. I wish there were more choices in the valley for blood test. Sonora has virtually monopoly. read more
