This has been my drs office since I was 7 years old. I am now 31. Dr. Alia has been there as long as I've been a patient of not longer. The only thing I don't like about this place is calling them. Sometimes they don't answer and you're waiting for so long before the machine tells you to call again and hangs up. Very reliable. Thankful for all the care they've given me in the past. No, stay away. I went in once, they NEVER asked for payment although my insurance states I have a $20 copay. Next they schedule my for an appt without my knowledge. then they schedule ANOTHER without my knowledge mind you 4 months after I stepped foot in there with zero email or call communication. I'm hit with a TWO HUNDRED DOLLAR no show fee for appointments I NEVER MADE!! Please stay away from these scam artists! The care is non existent. I went in for an appointment this morning. I had been seeing the physician's assistant, Zsuzsanna (yes, that's the correct spelling) for ten years and I have had enough. She talks and doesn't listen to me. I talked about what's going on in my life and the issues leading up to me moving. She went on and on about how expensive it is, the constant problems, etc. I am doing better and thriving. She didn't ask or seem to care. It was completely unnecessary, stressful, and upsetting. This doctor's office has been a part of the family for a very long time. They have helped with last minute visits and been so good to my mom and neice each visit. I appreciate the personal service they provide. The office is really clean, and they have a small area for children to sit at their size and adult seating as well. They have a TV in the lobby on low, and magazines to read. No food or drinks inside please. read more

Have been going to Tempe Family Practice since moving back to the Phoenix area 6 years ago. Penny is who I see. My husband sees Dr Alia, both in my humble opinion are excellent. They listen, communicate in simple layman terms. With lab results they call and explain your results to you. If referrals are required they handle with efficiency. I worked in the medical field for 31 years and totally understand how this works. You may have to wait for the phone to be answered on occasion, but I have never felt rushed once getting through. Both take their time with you, and I always feel cared for. If you are looking for a Dr's office that cares please give them the opportunity to show you that their are here for your best interest. I have been going to Tempe family practice for over 3 years now. The clinic is old and the seating in the front is shabby. The number of people who visit are so many that there is always shortage of chairs. Thats the only complaint Dr. Penny Burket is amazing, she has so much patience to answer all your questions and will sit with you and explain everything you want to know and you are going through. She is so caring and friendly. The front office people are amazing too, they are sweet, good followups and timely schedules. I give this place, and especially the front office staff and N.P. Penny, less than 0 Stars. Run Fast Away from this place. I had 1-visit, which will be my last. Most of the time they don't answer the phone-when they do, you get the most incompetent staff. Not once, Not Twice, Not Even Four Times, But FIVE times in one swoop they sent my prescriptions to the wrong place. I have called seven times, asking to speak to the owner of the practice or the highest office manager. They refuse to put me through-always say they will take a message. It has been over a month, and on call. Lets get to lovely Penny. Does not care what you want to ask or say, constantly interrupted me, made a few hard statements telling me no, I was wrong about what I was telling her about ME, apparently she thinks she knew me from another life, I don't know, rude, condescending, and other things I can't say in this note or it won't get posted. The place was not that clean either. Maybe the housekeeper was out sick that week, I don't know, but suffice to say, you could not pay me enough money to go back. I just moved to Arizona and needed to find a new Primary Care Dr. I called a few places and as I was self-pay at the time, I needed an office that didn't charge an arm and a leg and then some. I called Tempe Family Practice and spoke to Tara who was very nice and didn't seem to mind that I had quite a few questions. At first I thought that the nurse that took my vitals could have been a bit friendlier but she turned out to be nicer than my first impression. I saw Natalie and she was amazing. She listened to all of my needs, helped me find two different programs to help me with my meds so that they were more affordable. I have found that all of the staff I have met so far are really friendly. read more

I had to come in to get blood work done to start school and had a great experience. Everyone is nice and communicative. They are pretty busy but I didn't have to wait long during my appointment. Since my initial appointment I've had to have paperwork filled out and they have gotten it done quickly and without any issue. I was referred here from my bf, and first experienced them after a pretty bad bladder infection (I blame Kentucky), and they were able to see us immediately, avoiding the emergency room hell of having to use the bathroom every five minutes with a fever for several hours. Since then, I have never had to wait a long time for appointments for my constant source of sinus infections and plumbing problems. Located right past Guadalupe on Rural (accessible by bus, which I have done several times), ample parking. The waiting room isn't very big and the magazines are not very exciting, but then you don't wait very long. A real cross section of urgent care is here, and if you are in a "wait and see if you can be seen" bring headphones and your own reading to blast out the television showing reality tv and the cute kids playing on the insanely loud toys. We enjoy going here b/c after you do the initial weight/blood pressure, you aren't abandoned in the patient room, and while you are done with the doctor (nurse practicioner) pretty fast, I haven't felt rushed. After a particularly troubling run of infections that were affecting my quality of life and work, we did a lab test, and I received a call for the prescription quickly and felt better within days. Their payments for the appointments are really reasonable (anywhere between $20-$60), with the initial appointment larger due to registration. They always try to find the best deals for prescriptions and are sensitive to economic constraints and my general health for future appointment/considerations. Recommended. read more

It took 2 months to schedule first time appointment. I was finally able to get in for routine annual physical, showed up, payed my co-pay, they took my vitals..and had me scheduled to come back ANOTHER 2 MONTHS later. My husband and his brother were able to just walk right in and have their physicals done on their first appt. As soon as I left there I went over to Adelante, where they saw me and took care of everything in one easy, convenient visit. No a fan. read more

I have been a patient for a little under 1 year now due to employer insurance change in coverage. I had to find a new primary care physician and found Tempe Family Practice through our network. I called to schedule an appointment for my annual woman exam and they immediately discovered that there were other issues going on with me although my results from my exam came back perfect. I have had my procedure done through a specialist Dr. Alia referred me to and feel great! Also, within the past 4 weeks my daughter had an incident during a basketball game at school and we had to get her into the emergency room. Per their direction we were to see our primary care after a week, but when I called in to schedule that appointment, they suggested that we get her in within the day due to my daughter's constant headache's. During our visit, Dr. Alia was very attentive and showed genuine concern for her even though this was his first time seeing her. He then referred us out to a Pediatric Neurologist and we are currently under her care and direction, but Dr. Alia is still involved. During these few weeks Dr. Alia has taken the time to call me personally to check on my daughter to ensure that she is making positive progress and to see if we have any unanswered questions. How often does that happen? I love it... In all of my years going to different doctor's I have never had a Doc take the time to call him/herself. I have also referred a friend to him and they were also able to diagnose what had previously been misdiagnosed by another doctor and get her back in tip top shape. I will continue to come to Dr. Alia and Tempe Family practice and encourage you to do the same. Keep in mind, the office is not brand new with all the fancy new furniture in the lobby, but I would much rather have better care and a proper diagnosis than go somewhere that's pretty. read more

One of the worst front office staff. They constantly lie. Saying they leave voice mails when they don't. Keep you waiting for weeks for a "referral" somewhere with in network that is also recommended by the doctor, only to send you somewhere that doesn't take your insurance and has all your info wrong. Terrible 1st impression and experience! The staff are unprofessional, rude, rush, and rough when doing exams!!! One of the doctors waisted like 25 minuets complaining about the other employees and called me dude. It was weird and made me uncomfortable especially since it was the first time going in for a physical. this "family practice" is awful. And to top things off the nurse took my blood pressure and then asked me if my blood pressure sounded normal and about right? I told her I am not sure. She said it was normal. This place is a complete shit show! DO NOT GO HERE! The entire office is dirty and out of date! I went for a simple check up and have been dealing with there mess up in pay for the last 7 months. They tell me they fix it and I get another bill a month later. You call the billing line and they NEVER answer and NEVER call you back. They take weeks for get results back to you and don't call you they wait for you to call them. The doctor I saw was very strange and honestly weird. I highly recommended going somewhere else. I had contacted this office because it's very close to my home. My purpose was to find a primary care doctor. From the start, I have been disappointed. I was contacted on the day of my first appt to reachedule due to the doctor having a ER which is very understandable and I had no problem with rescheduling. But what didn't sit well with me is that when I arrived to my new appointment EARLY as advised, I was told that I am not on the schedule. The lady at the front was very rude as if it was my fault that I showed up to the appointment and was not scheduled. She kept telling me that there was no way for me to be scheduled on that day. My question to her is, well why would I show up at your doctors office for an appointment that I didn't have? I have much better things to do with my time. I actually took off of work to attend this appointment. First impressions are everything, and my first impression of this clinic is that the staff is rude and unorganized. I kindly told the receptionist to take me off of their schedule and I will seek a new doctor. I pay close attention to red flags like these and this is not a practice I would want to be seen at. I still think the staff is super friendly. But Dr Incza...I feel like has a great and fun personality. But I really don't feel like she puts any effort into figuring out what could be wrong with me when I come in with issues. I do remember the time I was diagnosed with Celiacs, I told her all my symptoms and that I had a family history of Celiacs. She said "there's a hundred reasons you could be feeling that way." I really had to push to be tested. It was my request, she didn't recommend it. Also, tried telling her about my back pain symptoms last year. She just said I'm really tight and to do stretches. Even went and got X-rays. My back showed a slight curve, and she said it was probably just the way I was standing. A year later, I'm at the chiropractor because my pain is too intense. Chiropractor says I never healed correctly from an accident I had 5 years ago. And now I have a very significant S curve in my spine and my neck has extreme cervical strain. Which any Dr should have noticed from my first X-rays. Also, my last women's exam did not go...great. (I mean when do they ever. But there were more issues than usual and it lasted 20 minutes!) Unfortunately, I feel like I have not been able to find any Dr who cares AND is knowledgable, close to home. And since they're so close, I'll probably end up continuing to come here. read more

The PA I saw I can't rave about enough, she sat here and talked with me about everything I wanted to clear up. She was friendly and caring, and thoroughly explained things to me! I needed to find a new doctor that was near me and took my insurance. I found this office on my insurance company's web site. I called and made an appointment. Since I was a new patient they do a first visit before they do the full physical that I was ultimately after. The office is pretty easy to find. It is in a row of office buildings. There is a sign out front and the building they are in only has 3 suites so it wasn't that hard to track down the front door. They are older offices in Tempe but they still look good. It was very nice when I walked in. The person at the front desk was very nice and checked me in. There was only one page of info to fill out plus two more things to sign but it was very easy and didn't take that long at all. Once that was done the nurse called me back only a minute or two after I turned in my paper work. I noticed all the nurses and physicians assistants were carrying around laptops which is cool. It is not a big office but it is very nice and well equipped. All of the staff were all very nice and helpful and put you at ease for being in a doctors office. The exam didn't take that long and they went over a lot of information. I will be back for sure. Sure I will be back for the physical that I scheduled that day but even after that I will be back. A nice, friendly and helpful staff makes a doctors office. read more

I never write reviews but for Penny.. I will. I am very displeased with Penny. My two sons age 4 months and 3 years old have always seen Dr. Alia. I had a recent visit with Penny for myself and she was very nice so I wanted to try her out for my 3 year old wellness check up. BIG MISTAKE. She asked my son to lie down and she checked his tummy and then says "we need to check his private area" I'm use to Dr Alia asking me to remove him waste down myself but Penny just dove in and was very abrasive with pulling his pants down which not only made me uncomfortable and surprised but I could see it in my sons face that he was very uncomfortable too. As she was examining him she started saying something about retracting the foreskin to clean it and she started pulling his skin back and i shouted at her to STOP! how dare she do that without MY consent. So many doctors are not educated on uncircumcised penises and they don't know its DANGEROUS to retract the skin on it's own. It could cause serious infection and cause horrible pain! I will NEVER go to this horrible doctor again, and will stick with Dr. Alia. read more

front desk sucks no communication Dr Alia send the wrong prescription and her precious doctor send me the 4 different doctors. Thats how much I am on pain for. three days we've been calling the office to change the prescription they keep giving me the same crap answers that the doctor did not read the message they sent to him to let him know he gave me the wrong medication which he is sitting (two feet away ) from the front desk. she could have just got off her ass and go talk to him and when we asked about the referrals that I'm on pain I need to see the specialist that he sent me to see she keep telling me that referrals in process here's your process sweetheart your friend a list of the referrals and I go call them and take care of it but keeping the patient on hold and on pain without medication those how much Reckless is the staff and nobody's monitoring anybody there a doctor not interested have the patient medical attention or not it's nothing more or less than money for him read more

Dr. Penny treated my family like complete sh*t today, because my children had head-lice and I was trying to get a prescription for it. She wouldn't even address their other health problems that we were there for and rushed us out because as she put it we might spread the problem. She was being really mean to me about bringing them in, and I had to hold back tears. I'm pretty sure she was freaked out about catching them herself, because she was wanting to get out of that room and not deal with their other health issues. Um, she couldn't even find any lice when she checked because I had just treated them with over the counter stuff which I told her, and I wanted the prescription to make sure they staid gone, as they always have a special knack of coming back. I have been seeing Dr Alia for almost 10 years. When I started seeing him, I was covered by AHCCCS/Medicaid, which I was dropped from after a couple years. Through 6 years of being uninsured, this office kept me healthy! They were always willing to help me find the most cost-effective way to treat my chronic illness, gave samples when they could, completed all the paperwork I needed for prescription assistance programs. I now have insurance and have moved to the other side of town, but I refuse to go anywhere else. I love this staff! read more
