I was craving desserts, so I decided to try Sonic again after 4 years. I ordered a cheeseburger, fries with honey mustard, and an Oreo cheesecake shake. I went in the late afternoon, and the service was quick, probably because it wasn't busy. The burger was okay, it was a bit on the wetter side, but still worth trying. I really loved the fries with honey mustard, though! The Oreo cheesecake shake was super sweet, definitely a sugar rush but hey, it's dessert. Giving sonic three stars only cause they have my favorite guilty pleasure ( Diet cherry limeade ) and their ice cream and shakes are really good and for the most part of service is fairly fast. Unfortunately service here is slow if you order on their app. The first time I ordered on the app, it took 20+ minutes for my food to come. I thought it was maybe just an off day. I decided to try and order again today on the app and it said it would be ready around 7:28. I checked into the stalls around 7:30 and after not receiving my order after 20 mins, I decided to call and ask about my order. I called right away and told them I was sorry and if they could maybe wait and they told me they could delay it for me! I've always been a big sonic fan. Was really happy to move to Santee and see that there was one just a couple miles for me. But I have to say, this place is consistently disappointed at last. Been there approximately three years ago they serve me on onion rings that were still frozen inside. Didn't go back for a long time but last night wanted a burger thought I'd give sonic another chance. Pulled in there were only two cars in the bays, yet I waited 15 minutes before anybody answered and actually took my order order. Placed food brought out ice was completely melted in my Coke. Yesterday Sonic had to buy one get one on foot-long chili cheese coneys, which is a great deal if you like those counties which I do. So I ordered three chili cheese Coney's, and got three chili cheese Coney free. I always use the application to order my food, which is what I did in this case and when I arrived and checked in, it was several minutes before I got an acknowledgment, and someone was supposedly on their way with my chili cheese coneys. After they acknowledged that they were on their way, I ordered a large order of fries to be paid in cash. And then we sat and waited and waited and waited. I finally pushed the button again and asked what was the holdup. I was told that they were very busy and trying to catch up. But that didn't explain why they said our fries were on the way, and Daisy was bringing them, and she didn't show up immediately or pretty close to immediately since it's about 20 steps to the door. She finally showed up. I handed her a $20 bill and a couple of dollars for a tip as she said she had to go back inside and would bring us the change for the fries. This sort of service is unacceptable even if they're busy, if they're this busy, then they should have more people working, which is probably what the problem is. The girl who ended up taking the order had an attitude, was rude, and short with him while trying to order. When he tried to ask questions would roll her eyes. It took us over 45 mins there to get food. I understand if they were short staffed and maybe overwhelmed but being rude to customers is uncalled for. Simply stating we'll be with you in just a minute would have changed everything about the experience. This sonic is great for little dates to hanging out or just grabbing a quick meal. From the cheeseburgers to the footling hot dogs it'll satisfy your needs. The flavor of the food is great especially the tater tots and the mozzarella sticks being golden crunchy. But there are some issues with this sonic particular. Lately the food has been a hit or miss with both the quality and flavor. Sometimes the tater tots are bland and taste greasy and I find this to happen with the mozzarella sticks as well. And sometimes the burgers are smashed and just don't taste all that great. Service wise the workers don't use roller skates anymore when you're in a car port and I find myself to be waiting about 10-15 minutes for my order in the car port. When I do get my order it tends to be wrong at times such as no ranch when I asked for some to asking for a garlic burger but I was given a normal cheeseburger instead. I'm giving this sonic three stars with a lot of negative feedback I just gave them only because it didn't use to be like this. Noticing the same workers doing their job and just one worker running out the orders it seems they're short staffed. The staff is very friendly and cooperative. With just a bit of patience you'll get a great experience at this sonic and I hope they return to their full potential. read more

It takes longer in the drive through than it does at the line at the DMV. I don't even know where to begin. I've never been a fan of Sonic's food. I thought enough time had passed where I told myself I should give them another chance. I was wrong. Dead wrong. I got a chicken sandwich and the lettuce was rotted. Didn't notice this until I bit into the sandwich and wondered why it tasted so horrible. Opened up the sandwich and realized the lettuce looked like it was spoiled. The chicken looked like it was left under a food lamp and it was forgotten about for a week. It was awful. I couldn't even stomach one bite. I threw the whole thing away. The only thing sonic has going for them, is their drinks. This experience just reinforced why I never buy food there. read more
